Slow is sometimes caused by too many running apps in the background, use your recent apps button to close apps you're not using. It is also a good practice to restart the device periodically (every 2-3 days) to clear out buffers and memory that may lead to intermittent issues. It's an older slower model but as a second work phone it is fine. I didn't need a lot of options or anything brand new top of the line. It's helps that my child had the same phone a few years ago so I knew what to expect.
