I bought this Moto X4 Unlocked 32GB/3GB Ram to (Activate Later) for $149.99 (reg $349.99) to activate Tracfone on it with the “Tracfone: Keep your own smartphone Sim Kit - AT&T” for my mom. (XT1900-1) #1) BUY THIS PHONE! – For this price, you should run out of the store like you stole something, lol. Why? Because the specs on this phone for that price is just awesome. #2) Just for an example: I have the LG G6 and while the specs are better on paper – this Moto X4 seems better in every category. I am Jelly. #3) My LG phone ppi = 564 , Moto X4 ppi = 424 (but the Moto looks more crisp and detailed) My phone processor = 821 , Moto processor = 630 (but the Moto seems snappier) #4) This is the Moto X4 “Android One” meaning that this device runs a “pure Android experience” that focuses on providing timely OS and security updates. Motorola and Google promise that this device will get Android Oreo 8.0 and with a guaranteed and fast update to Android Pie 9.0 with all the security update in between. This is exactly what happen to me: Phone started with Android Oreo 8.1.0 OPWS 28.46-21-16 and then got 5 separate Security Patches, then got the Android Pie 9.0 then got another 4 Security Patches. I am now at the Security Patch: PPW 29.69-39-2 (April 1, 2019). So, I went through 9 Security Updates and 1 Android OS UpGrade, so you’ll have to dedicate about 2.9 hours to this, I didn’t want to NOT do an update fearing that if I went back to the phone later to continue the rest of the updates to find out that it won’t update anymore for some reason. NOTE: Have the phone plugged into the wall power outlet the whole time you do these updates, you will be doing a lot of restarts and boot-ups – and be patient, let the phone boot-up completely before doing another update and restart. Never rush this type of procedure. More General Cellphone Notes: 1) Never fill up your internal hard-drive with Apps, try to have only Half filled – the phone will run faster and actually uses the empty space to run quicker. 2) Buy the highest capacity external SDHC Card you can afford to put you MP3 music and have your pictures go to the SDHC Card and not the internal hard drive. 3) If you use any widgets for example: a Weather App or Calendar App, try to only have 2 widgets running on the phone Max. Having more running, constantly drains resources and pulls too much RAM (memory). Bottom Line: BUY THIS PHONE! 4G LTE w/VoLTE support, Display: 5.2” Full HD 1920x1080 at 424 pixels per inch, Storage: 32GB (14.36GB available), RAM memory: 3GB, Actual Size: 5.84”h x 2.89”w x .31”d, Weight: 5.75, Battery: 3,000mAh, Processor: SnapDragon 630 at 64bit, Octa Core 2.2GHz, USB Type C Fast Charge 15W, Fingerprint Scanner, DualBand WiFi: 2.4GHz and 5GHz a/b/g/n/ac, Hotspot, FM Radio, IP68 Dust/Waterproof, NFC, 2 Rear Cameras: 12MP/8MP, 1 Front Camera: 16MP w/Flash, Guaranteed Latest OS: Android Pie 9.0 fyi: Sold Out! as of July 6th 2019 - this phone is unavailable in my area as a new phone and only available to buy online as a used or unboxed item.

As a consumer who has used the same budget smart phone for three years in a row, I'll be the first to tell you how much I've looked on with envy at people with the latest flagship devices as they take amazing pictures and are able to speedily use the latest trending apps. That envy doesn't last for long when I look at the sticker price for those flagship devices because I'm able to do everything those more expensive devices can do on my cheap phone albeit with less panache. Panache isn't worth $700-$1000 in my opinion. I purchased my three year old Android Marshmallow device for the same price as this Moto X 4 is on sale for($149). It is to be expected that I would feel the same envy when I looked on at people with more higher end devices, but with the Moto X 4 that just isn't the case anymore. I have been able to open up apps faster than my friends with thousand dollar phones and I am able to use my nice over ear headphones without a dongle. At times I feel like my friends now envy my budget phone. I was shockingly surprised by how much feature parody this budget phone has with the expensive flagship devices. From the IP water resistance rating, to the dual cameras on the back, to the impressive aluminum and glass design, this phone is almost neck and neck with devices which are hundreds of dollars more expensive. If you are a budget concious consumer this phone is an excellent value, arguably the best value in the US. If you factor in international budget devices there is some competition there but none of those devices would be as robust as the Moto X 4, because the it is compatible with all four major US carriers. If you are a Sprint user you know how important feature is. If you are convinced that this phone is right for you, there are a few tips you should keep in mind. This phone needs a case and a screen protector if you want it to last long. Glass might feel good in the hand but it breaks easily when dropped. Something else you should know is that there will be a lot of updates from Google. Unfortunately the latest updates don't get rolled out until all consecutive updates before that have finished installing. This means it's a good idea to hold off on popping your sim in and let the phone run updates for about half a day after you purchase it. It may sound like a pain in the rear but the upside is that you are getting the latest version of Android with the latest security patches. Translation your phone is more secure. In conclusion, yes I would definitely recommend this phone to a friend.

I originally went into the store expecting to buy a different phone, but they sold out. This phone was on sale and the specs were comparable to the other phone I was originally wanting to get. After playing with this phone for a bit, I think this one actually turned out to be the better deal. This one has alot more features than I originally expected and didn't notice until after I bought it: It has a flash on the front for taking "selfies" at night, it is waterproof, has a wide angle camera, and it automatically can show you notifications/time/whatever just by waving your hand over the screen so if you're laying in bed you can check to see what time it is without even touching the phone. Those are the features I didn't even know about until after buying it. Some more pros: Battery is awesome, I can go 2-possibly 3 days on a single charge and I think of myself as a heavy user (lots of games and facebook) Camera is pretty great also, it's clear and focuses fairly quickly on both front and rear cameras. Screen is super bright, easy to read even out in the sun and the colors are also very deep, even scrolling through old pictures taken with my old phone - this phone's screen makes the pictures look even better than original. Build quality is sturdy, looks clean and sharp, it has a glass back and metal sides, the phone itself is shiny and premium looking but I would still recommend a case if you think you might drop it. Performance-wise, it is running really smooth. Every game I've played on it has opened quickly and run stable. USB-C charger and a headphone jack are also a plus!

The very good: The build of the phone. It's a full glass wrap around with a aluminum frame. For a cheap phone this build packs a premium feel and looks to match. It's a very good looking phone in my opinion, it feels as good as a Samsung flagship. The camera(s) this is a dual lens camera with beautiful colors and a portrait mode that dosent look like it's just a blury Circle. The power. This phone isn't a flagship grade phone it's a "premium budget divice" that packs a chipset from Snapdragon. It's a 630. Power efficient and strong enough to to play the latest games around. ( you won't be able to play on the highest levels, but still it's not a bad experience.) Along with a cortex A53 and with a Adreno 508 Graphics chip it makes a pretty good phone for 300$. Android? 8.0 it's up to date for now. The AI. Comes with type c port ( yes. All I have to say is yes. Thank you moto! ) AND we have a head phone jack! ( 3.5 mm ) Extra ( Ipx 67/68 ) I I believe this means that it is dust and waterproof and or resistant as for the screen and rear glass I believe it is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and 5. 3 respectively being the screen and 5 being the back now I have dropped this phone several times and I bought screen protectors for that reason. I'm horrible at breaking phones, but it's held up I've literally dropped it on the back of the phone and kicked it across the kitchen that I work at and it was just fine. So tops to that! For the bad... The phone doesn't have the biggest battery ever.. it has an all day charge, but personally I am a power user and prefer a 5,000 mAh. But it is made up for with the quick charge ( Turbo charge as moto calls it ) so lose win it's ok.

I purchased this unlocked phone for my daughter, to replace an old Samsung with a cracked screen. We were out of contract with Sprint, and instead of adding another phone with a payment to our bill, this phone looked great for her. It was a great phone, for about 30 days. Great camera. Then the battery ran out, and would not charge. The phone was dead, and not charging up. Since it was beyond the 14 days for Best Buy returns, I contacted Motorola, and began the return for repair/replacement. The Motorola repair rep told me the replacement would be sent out 3-5 days from the date they receive the phone. They sent the RMA and FedEx label. I sent the phone to them, they received it the next day. There is a tracking system online, that is useless. No updates after 3 days. I call. They now say the replacement will be sent in 4-6 days. I keep checking the online tracking system. No updates. After 1 week I initiate a chat with Motorola. They ask to call me, and then tell me that the model of phone is out of stock, and they should be receiving more later this week. I asked for any other options, like an upgrade. Nothing. I have to wait. In the meantime, my daughter is using her old Samsung with the cracked screen, as it still works perfectly fine while on WiFi, just not activated for cell service. Currently thinking about just getting her a new Samsung and get it activated, and just donating the replacement Motorola – whenever it arrives.

I bought it as a temp phone to see if the lack of cell coverage was my aging 6yr old Galaxy S4 or the cell service itself. To my surprise it was the phone. I've had the new one for a week now and haven't dropped signal since. It came with android 7 and it updated to android 9. Great features except it doesn't have wireless charging but the turbo charging makes up for it. Battery life is good. I can go 2 days on one charge. I do recommend the 64 gb version because after the security and OS updates, 50% of the storage was used. That's before any apps or games were downloaded. I installed a 128 gb memory card for extra storage. Make sure to purchase a case because the glass back make it a slippery phone. Also, if your current sim is not a nano sim, you will need to update your sim through your carrier. I have Verizon and they did it for free but you have to pick it up from a cooperate store or have it mailed. Retail Verizon stores will charge you for the sim card.

So far I really like this phone! My wife ended up getting one after she saw mine! The Android one version I have seems to be missing a few apps and features that her regular non Android one version has though. Besides that I think all THREE of the cameras are great, and this thing performs pretty quick! It would be 5 stars if it had the ability to store and run apps from an SD card. I discovered that the Moto X4's use a certain file encryption that does not work with integrating adaptable external memory. You can still save all of your media to the external card, just not apps. I have about half of my 32gb available after system software, so 16gb is plenty of room for some apps. The screen is vibrant and very sharp. The finger print sensor is awesome! No other phones in the price range has as many features. Plus it upgraded to the new Pi OS and since it's Android one it will upgraded to the Q OS after it's released. It's also the only non Google phone that can use the Google fi phone service. I would recommend!!

There is no doubt that the Moto X4 is one of the best priced deals on the market for Unlocked 32GB Memory Cell Phones on the market. The internal 32GB Memory with 3GB Internal RAM and high speed processor makes all apps run fast on this phone. Absolutely no comparison in performance versus any 16GB Memory phone. The Cameras are fantastic including the panorama lense. Pictures from this phone look professional quality. Pictures look actually more detailed than the naked eye. The cameras are really amazing. The one major drawback with this mobile phone is the lack of apps. All apps seemed geared towards Google hence there is no good music player app on the phone, no good photo app on this phone, etc. You will have to find and download apps from the App Store for these processes to function well. The only good app that comes with the phone is the Camera app. Why would Motorola be so lazy and unsupportive with not including good basic apps with this phone.

The hardware is good, the software and design are common. I bought it because I like the camera. But I returned the phone after I bought it one day. Because when I took some photos, I wanted to take photos out. I found the computer could not recognize it. I took it back to Best Buy shop and consult the seller about how to connect the phone to the computer and transfer the photos to computer. The seller told me this is a phone just can upload photos to Google Photos or use SD card. I felt the SD and SIM card drawer are not strong enough for everyday pulling out. The card drawer is a fragile part of the cell phone. When started the phone, it asked for google account almost every step. A user manual or user manual web address are very important to user, But in fact, the user guide in this phone box is just for start the phone and it lacked of detail.

I bought this phone because I needed something cheap and now. What I didn't expect was to like this phone as much as I do. This phone has been updated to Android pie the latest Android version out currently and has a good looking design, glass and aluminum body it feels premium not cheap I've also accidentally dropped it 3 times already and the glass hasn't shattered and one of those times was on pavement. The charging is fast with the included turbo charger and the battery does last long enough time. The camera on this phone is another thing that surprised it's really good for smartphone that only cost $149. Another great thing about this smartphone is that it is universally unlocked so you can take and activate it with any carrier you'd like. It's a great phone.

My wife and I had our original Moto X phones for about 4 or 5 years and decided to update them a little. We don't need to be on the cutting edge of technology with our phones like our kids do, so we decided to stay 'in family' and upgraded to the Moto X4. I like the form factor and screen size and it's pretty snappy for most of the things we use our phones for. It also has pretty good battery life. I charge it every night but I could get through a couple of days easily before I would NEED to charge it. It's not as glossy as my Galaxy S8 (work phone) but it gets the job done. I only take one star off because of the camera. Not bad, but it could be better. All in all, a good phone for someone who might not be a mobile power user.

After breaking the third phone in about three months I was short on funds especially when it comes to a phone. Especially one that's going to get broken. so I gave this one a try cuz it was cheap and it still had some of the features I was looking for. I'm actually really impressed with it. I wish I would have gone one up with one more g of ram and twice as much storage but beggars can't be choosers. if you don't have much money and you need a phone give it a try. it's a quality product. remember the razor? I don't know how many times I dropped that phone and it didn't break. it's an unlocked GSM phone so it works with anything that is gsm T-Mobile metro AT& t. not Verizon not Sprint both cmda

This was my first adventure away from the restricted world of Apple. I grabbed it on sale as an unlocked phone an figured it was the safest way of trying Android. I'm happy to say, after a full week with my Motorcycle X4, my iPhone is in my dresser drawer. The 9.0 Android is feels good and intuitive. The battery life is great. I can go 2 days with normal use where my iPhone was lucky to make it a full day. (Really just about 18 or so hrs). The only downside is that a couple of my larger apps take a little longer to load but some (like my weather app) open quicker. Very nice for the price.

My Samsung's board died one day right as I was going out of town, so i needed something cheap and reliable fast. Doing a lot of international travel, i didn't want to spend a lot on a phone that was going to get beat up. The phone is decent. It has a mediocre camera, and runs a little slow, but it does what I need it to do (email and international calls w/ international sim chips). The biggest problem is that the internal storage seems to go quickly. I don't have a lot of apps/pictures, but its completely full. If you are completely dependent on your phone and use a lot of apps, probably not the one for you. If you just need basic email/internet, texting and phone calls- this will work great.

i bought this phone as an inexpensive replacement to my previous essential phone (PH-1), and it uses the same native android build my previous phone had. my only complaint at this point is that the on-board memory is only 32GB, which i've easily tapped out. this has caused (i'm assuming) some issues with occasionally locking up the phone or making in run extremely laggy. it does allow for expansion via a microSD slot; however, i've not yet figured out how i can move some of my apps onto the external storage in order to free up some of the main memory, but hopefully i can very soon in hopes that will fix the issues i've been experiencing.

Not sure I plan on keeping the phone. Frequently must go outside for signal even for a call or text, grrrr. Screen icon says 3G, though I have a 4G plan. At times deletes things without prompting, but will reappear 2 days later. IT people know Androids couldn't figure it out. It's the first time I didn't buy a warranty as I there was never any issues with previous phones. Lesson learned and I will probably have to get another phone before winter due to phone not working inside, and yes, all settings have been checked out. I would not recommend this phone to anyone. As phones become more and more expensive and features are added that may or may not be of value, it is important to have some mid-priced options. I noticed that phones are either becoming very low prices and low featured, or, running hundreds of dollars as they become more evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Few manufacturers are providing phones in the 300-500 range. And phone providers are locking people in with the monthly costs built in as the phones are being paid off over many months. Everything about this phone is average. But if you want to make calls, take a few pics, play a few games, it's fine.

Overall I am very happy with this phone. Call quality is good and the speakers are decent. My only issue is not so much with the phone, but the fact that the mobile hotspot with cricket wireless that I used to have access to is not accessible on this phone. Apparently cricket wireless isn't totally compatible with this phone when it comes to the personal mobile hotspot. Having kids that are always asking me to turn it on when we're on the go, that's kind of a deal-breaker for me so I'm now shopping for another carrier. I'm not giving up this phone. My only advice is get a case - this phone is VERY slippery.

I did extensive research on new phones after I killed my old Nexus 6. I intended always to stick with Google, but the Pixels are much too expensive. Discovered the Android One system by accident, looked for an affordable example, and hit the X4 just as its price was coming down sharply. Went to Best Buy and found it cost even less than I expected. So, even though it's a small step back from my beloved Nexus 6 in some ways, it's a good step ahead in many others, at a third the price. And I even still have the great Google software environment, which other sellers corrupt with garbageware and neglect of updates. I feel very lucky!

This is a Great midrange phone. Fast processor, decent memory and storage, high end features like NFC and two rear cameras make this a solid performing phone. Compared to my previous phone, a Moto G3, I am seeing much faster loading of apps (esp Walmart app) when I am out and about. The biggest complaint I have is the speaker quality is not as good as the G3 (which has 2 speakers compared to a single on the X4) but it is adequate. Note that there are several versions of this phone, AndroidOne, Amazon Prime, etc. Different versions have different sets of features, so do your homework to figure out what you want from yours.
