Customers admire the Moto X (4th Generation) for its budget-friendly price, excellent camera, and ample storage. Users appreciate the phone's user-friendly interface and the benefits of the Android One operating system. While some users find the phone to be slippery, the lack of wireless charging is the only notable drawback mentioned.

There is nothing wrong with the moto x4 (64gb 4gb) version. It does everything I ask of it but none of it is great.
It's got 'good' written all over it. It's a solid choice for a savvy traveler.
Pictures are ok
Talk quality is ok
Screen is ok
Battery life is OK (about 1 day with lots of use)
Audio meh. And doesn't work perfectly with an external dac but it does work.
Speed so/so
Support =Motorola customer service makes Samsung customer care feel like ISIS.
your mom likes the video quality we shoot.
Idk if it's worth it to buy the moto z4 but any Motorola is gonna have moto gestures that you won't realize how nice they are until you ditch the phone for some fagship.
Stay Mobile Alabama.

I came from galaxy J7 and this phone is working out way better. The camera is far superior and it seems to run quite a bit faster. I have been very pleased with this phone. The only issue I have had was loosing wireless network which it did not show as disconnected. Restarting took care of the issue and that's something you should do weekly anyway.

When I purchased this Motorola Moto X4, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it. It didn't take long for me to appreciate fast phone with 4 GB of Ram and the 64 GB of storage. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a good phone without the expensive price tag.

Cheap Phone but Works

I bought this phone because it was somewhat cheap and I needed a phone to get me by for a year or so before I wanted to do a proper upgrade. The camera is pretty poor vs modern elite phones, but the battery life is great and the vanilla aspect of its Android platform was good as well.
A few positives:
1) USB-C charging which means it's faster at charging and used the same updated charging as all the newer phones coming out
2) Speedy interface for a phone in its price point
3) Moto Actions. This is a feature I really enjoyed. When enabled, you can do things like turn on/off the flashlight with a shake of the phone, or take a screenshot but placing 3 fingers on the screen, etc. The flashlight shake I found extremely helpful.

Very Versatile Phone for a Great Price

I've purchased numerous unlocked Motorola phones from Best Buy for use by myself and family members through the years. Recently purchased 2 unlocked Motorola X4 (64GB/4GB RAM) phones from Best Buy and could not be happier! Using them with prepaid Verizon service.
Phone charges very quickly, battery lasts all day with typical mixed usage, calls are clear, camera is excellent for a mid-range cellphone, expansion slot for micro SD card capable of expanding to 2TB! Very few phones come anywhere close to this level of expanded memory. The IP68 rating means the phone can withstand sweat, rain, drops in the pool or deep puddles, etc with no adverse effects.
Was able to update to Android 9.0 just using automatic update pushes. The fingerprint reader is very handy for everything from locking and unlocking phone access, logging in to numerous browser websites (banking, medical portals, etc), as well as custom applications.
Size is ideal at 5.2". Plenty of display real estate while still easily slipping in a pocket for carry. My past 5.5" and 6" phones were difficult to pocket. The X4 had a unibody metal frame (no torquing or twisting which prolongs phone life and greatly reduces chance of screen cracking). The Gorilla Glass display AND Gorilla Glass back panel give the phone a very solid feel and offer great protection.
SUMMARY - for those of us unwilling or unable to drop $800 - $1400 on a high end iPhone, Pixel, or Samsung, this phone is a perfect compromise between price, form, and functionality. Purchased mine on sale for $199 at Best Buy (normal price of $419) - incredible deal! Even the staff at the Verizon store where I established service didn't believe me on the price until they looked it up and saw for themselves. "You won't find ANY remotely better phone in any brand for that price" was the Verizon manager's exact quote! Go for it if it's time to replace your defective or outdated phone!

the camera on this phone is amazing. the battery is better than the droid maxx (just left for this) and that was the most insane amount of battery just a couple years ago. the screen is great. i foresee a great many years with this phone
the finish of the back is just too slippery. this is the first phone i have ever wanted (needed) to have a case. plenty of case choices floating around the internet.
the lack of one star derives from the poor external sound quality. it uses the earpiece speaker for broadcasting all audio. way too quiet. you need an external speaker or headphones to enjoy your music/videos.

My Motorola Iphone has all the qualities one would want and expect from a phone costing 2 to 3 rimes more than this economically priced gem. Really good csmera ie plenty of pixels; ease of texting; very accessible; in conclusion a great buy!!!

Awesome mid range pure Android phone. Smooth without unwanted bloatware. Excellent for my parents who prefer an easy to use Android phone without spending near-four-digits for Samsung. Snagged it for 149. Unbeatable phone for that price. Would be great (given the awesome 149 price) for a teenage kid.

This is my second X4 because the first one died. It was fine and then it just wouldn't turn on again. Other than that... It's a great phone for the price. Decent camera and no lag in performance.

Now I have to say that I am no phone expert. I've never had a flagship phone. But I have had 4 of these moto phones and the thing I like about them is that they are handy and they work well. This is my second Moto X4. This one is the 64gb model. I like it a lot. The Camera is good or at least I think it;s good. I don;t take photos in dark places so the phone worls great for me, The thing I tink I like most about the Moto phones are the moto motions. Roll your srist and the camera pops up. Double chop the phone and you have a flash light. 3 finger taps and you have a screen shot. And it's water proof - under water water proof. Don;t dive ith it but if you drop it in the water it still works. Great idea!
For $199.99 at Best Buy I got a great phone I think. I also bought a Moto G7 to see how I like it. I think I like the Moto X4 better. But I also like the Moto G7. but I like the Moto x4 more.

This is not a flagship phone, and it's a pretty old midrange phone from late 2017. With that said, it's gotten some hefty discounts in 2019 to make it a great value. The design is excellent and beautiful. In 2019, some might complain about the bigger bezels and lack of wireless charging, but its glass back, USB C port, and headphone jack are excellent. The specs are solid, with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and Snapdragon 630 processor. The screen is good, but it's only LCD and not AMOLED. Software support is good, with the phone on the Android One program. You can upgrade it to Android 9.0 already. Overall, this is a phone that's not going to blow anyone out of the water, but for a discounted price, it's hard to find a better value in early 2019.

I upgraded mu 2014 Moto X with this Moto X4. Enough similarities to not have to figure it out but with improvements. Love that it's 64GB and theres a slot to add more memory. The camera is also great.

This phone was Motorola's flagship two years ago, and today it holds up well as a budget phone. It has 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage (expandable via microSD) and an IP certification, which are some things that you could miss in other more recent phones that have a similar pricing. In exchange, it may not look super modern as some newer budget phones, but it's still well built and features a sturdy glass and metal body.
Being Android One, you'll have a decent and light OS running and might even get Android 10.
The fingerprint scanner works very well and is placed on a great spot! The display is ok too. It has decent resolution, not great color reproduction, but not horrible as in some budget phones. It's ok.
Battery life seems decent so far.
Overall, I'd say that this is an excellent phone for the average user! Especially when discounted at around 150 :).

Yes I read all the reviews for the price it's an excellent value for a mid-range phone 64GB overall pretty good phone I didn't want black and one of the sterling silver that's the only thing I'm disappointed really wanted that sterling silver one. hey but it's a good phone you can see it in the sun it's got some waterproofing and yeah pretty good. Moto should have done a better job with this speaker sound it's 10 and sounds cheap and that that's all.
