This is hands down the best phone I've ever owned. It's not a good phone because if what it has, it's a good phone because if what it lacks. Think of a fully loaded luxury car vs a stripped down race car. No bloat means there's tons of space for all your apps and plenty of RAM. The camera is spectacular (unless its low light, in which case it's awful) and the front camera even has front flash. Gestures to active the camera and flashlight seem silly at first but are honestly useful in the real world. I've also gotten 5 other friends and family members to purchase this phone and not a single complaint.

possably the best android cell/camera ever. 21MP rear camera. the pictures are really nice especially in diffused daylight at 50 iso. also the cell moto X pure features are exceptional for the cost $350 and below. I bought 2 - one as a gift for a friend at a special price of $250 for a 34GB + bamboo finish. amazing deal. you can not buy it anymore for under $350. Best Buy isn't stocking selling them anymore. don't know why!

i purchased as a gift. i own one myself and made the purchase based on the 21MP rear camera. I'm a photographer/artist and wanted a phone with the best camera i could find. i was upgrading from an old Motorola Blk flip 2G phone! i use the cell camera now more than my Nikon D610. it takes such good pictures and it's always with me. plus the photo apps allow a lot of creative possibilities right there on the phone in addition to uploading the images to my Flickr account. Lenovo just purchased Motorola from Google! smart move! Lenovo (Chinese) already make some of the best computers on the planet - now they have one of the best smartphone lines on the planet. what is this country thinking when it does stuff like this? Trump is right!

I had a galaxy S3 for 3 yrs, I upgraded to Moto X. It took while for me to adjust. Initially we only purchased one, but we were impressed with function and quality with great price, so I purchased two more for my family.most important thing its unlock and has dual sim slots. So far we are happy with our purchased. I am really thankful for Mr. SAIF ( Representative of bestbuy ) who suggest me this phone.

First off the design of is it great and the 21mega pixels camera is great.. but do wish it had more editing features. 4k video recording is excellent.. This phone is simple and easy to use.. I love the turbo battery charger it takes no time to charge the battery up. The display 5.7in 2560x1440 screen is awesome..The double chop to turn the flash light on is a cool and convenient feature also the double twist to turn the camera on is a great feature too.. I say it's worth buying.

Bought this for my 17 year old to replace his Samsung Note 4. The camera on this phone is absolutely amazing!! I was skeptical buying an unlocked phone and having it work with out AT&T phones but it worked fine after we stopped at the AT&T store to get the SIM card that you need because it was a different size than the Samsung. So far has been a great phone, no issues at all.

Great phone with great features and quality for great price. I really recommend this phone instead of expensive one only with a little more like slow motion play back and higher number frame for recording. Well if you have a lot money, pick up an expensive one for yourself, still you won't have something that Moto XP does. Awesome phone for the price.

This phone was purchased because we wanted a phone with a better camera than others and it has not disappointed. The 5.7" in screen is bright and crystal clear. It is fast and does everything we need it to do.

I've had the phone for about a month now and I am very happy. Only complaint is the vibration, which seems louder than just putting the volume almost all the way down. Battery is ok, I'm not a heavy user so it gets me through my work day with about 40% left. Quick charge is awesome though, ridiculous fast! Speakers are awesome, screen is good. Camera is real good, but I'm coming from htc m7. I would buy again, no regrets.

I purchased this to replace my HTC One M8, and it's pretty darn good. It's a little too big for me to single hand text, but other than that the camera is great, and it's fluid when changing between apps. If the screen was 5.5 inches, then I believe this would work perfect for me. If you like the big screens, then you should love it. The charging with the fast moto charger does charge very quickly, but not as fast as they claim. Also, this is a beast when it comes to power usage and I burn through a fully charged battery in less than a full work day, so that's a bit of a bummer, but not a deal breaker for me. Overall, this is a solid phone especially since it doesn't have the ATT carrier bloat software that my HTC had and I'm glad I purchased it.

I love this phone. It is very easy to navigate. it does everything. It has a very good camera and plenty of storage and it can be expandable. The only draw backs are playing videos or games makes it heat up. I have to stop using it when this happens. The battery can go quickly after to much use. I had to install cooling apps and wait for it to cool off.

This is a really nice phone. I haven't even figured out all I can do on it. It is fast and reliable. I didn't think I wanted a screen that big, but now I am really glad I did. It was between this phone and the Galaxy 6 (I was coming off the Galaxy 4). The fact that there was no place to put my micro SD on the Galaxy 6 was what pushed me over to the MotoX. That, and the fact that I could purchase it unlocked, no rental fees to carrier, and keep my low per-line access fee for my smart phone.

They fixed everything I disliked on the 1st gen

I upgraded from a first gen Moto X phone, which I really liked in the first place, to this. In short they fixed everything I disliked about the first gen phone. This includes:
- Front facing speakers which get decently loud
- Better camera, especially in low light
- Longer battery life
- Expandable storage
On the old one the speaker was in the back which made it impossible to show someone a video in even a modestly loud restaurant and expect them to hear it. The new one has two stereo front facing speakers on the front, this fixes the problem.
The camera on this works very well in low light conditions and takes excellent pictures in even low light with the flash off or on. This was definitely the tipping point in which I decide a separate camera is entirely pointless. It also will capture 4k video, which I have no tried yet because I do not have anything to display it on and it also gives a warning when you try and select that mode that it cannot display 4k video in the galley and it also takes up a lot of storage space.
The battery life on this phone is ridiculously long. On my old, admittedly aged phone, I was ending the day dead, with this one I will have in excess of 50% left at days end with modest use. If I use the heck out of it I'll still end the day with 30% so a guy could still go out at night and not worry about the battery running out. The other great feature is the turbo charging, the thing charges at 25 watts! 10-15 minutes on the charger gets you 20% or so more charge so even if you're low you can plug in while you prepare and still go out for the evening and not worry about not being able to dial up an Uber.
I recently took a three and a half hour flight with this phone and I loaded some movies on to it. I put the phone on airplane mode with 90% battery showing and once airborne proceeded to watch a two hour 20 minute long movie, I did dim the screen only because it was too bright otherwise. I then listened to about an hour of music before landing. I still had 70% battery left when I took it out of airplane mode, navigate to the hotel and still went out for dinner that night all on one charge.
And then there's the fact that this phone has a micro SD card slot also so you can expand the storage.
And the other big selling point is the almost pure Android software. Upon turning the phone on it very quickly downloaded the Marshmallow update that had been pushed to it, and shortly there after another update with bug fixes. The UI is very smooth with very little twitching only when heavy apps are running. And there is a lot to like in terms of little features that you'd never think about until you use them. For example, I drop a call and call the person back while they're also calling me back at the same time. It will automatically hang up my call and ring, gently, in my ear as to not have both of us reach the others voice mail immediately.
Overall very solid phone and it fits in my hand fairly well despite it's gargantuan size. There is a distinct lack of cases available for this phone. I do with there was an Otter box commuter available for it, which is what I had on my old phone, but they only make the very bulky defender. I ended up with an off brand case which fits a bit loose. On the old Moto X I had broken the screen with a modest drop (no case at the time) so I am afraid this one is about as delicate so I'm not taking any chances. Motorola does have their indestructible screen phone similar to the Moto X Pure, but it's only available through Verizon with all their bloat ware installed. I do wish this was available on an unlocked platform because if it was I would have gone that route instead.

Based on my experiences with phone reception, I'd say this phone has better range than prior phones, The moto apps that allowed me to easily and immediately transfer all of my information to the new phone worked really well. I like the twisting motion to turn on the phone camera. I haven't mastered the flashlight motion just yet though. It works as advertised and I like having the 32gb so storage isn't an issue.

The wife wanted more screen real estate than the iPhone 5S offered. She loved her iPhone, but was frustrated by the tiny screen.
We thought about the iPhone 6S Plus and the 7S Plus. Looking at the value proposition, she didn't want to pay such an outrageous price for a phone.
Her initial reaction to the Moto X was lukewarm at best. Like anyone else, she didn't enjoy the initial transition from iOS to Android. After a couple of weeks in, she is more than satisfied with her new phone.
Screen is big bright and easy to look at - which was the main point of this exercise. The camera is not quite as good as the iPhone, but close enough. And like every Android device I have ever owned, battery life isn't as well managed as on the iPhone.
We can buy nearly 3 Moto X's for the price of a single big screen iPhone. And, we can add more memory using MicroSD cards to capture more photos and videos without worry.
Minor quibbles aside, we'd buy this phone again over the iPhone.

This phone is a great phone if you want an unlocked phone. This is great especially with android 6 marshmallow because you could get the 16gb phone and then a large space Micro sd card and make it into internal storage.
The only thing that bothered me about this phone was that i was coming from an iPhone and the battery life isn't that great compared to the iPhone 6plus i had before this phone , but other than that this phone is great

My first attempt with an unlocked phone without all the garbage bloatware that the telecom companies put on them..... Love it. I also wanted to have the latest OS and I got it, again, I Love it. Android 6.0 is great. Plus, the ability to change carriers if I'm dissatisfied with the one I'm with. This phone is fantastic. Plenty of horsepower and ability to add more memory sets it apart from other phones of this class. 3G ram makes it super fast as well. Nothing bogs it down and the reception has been exceptional.

This phone has everything you need...if you are not someone who lives on their phone. I do the usual 15 mins about 3 times a day on twitter, a decent amount of texting, about an hour of spotify, light gaming, occasional snaps, moderate camera use etc. The reason I say this, is battery life is not great. If you are a heavy user, you will likely not make it morning till night, i usually have abt 30% going to bed on a full morning charge. the turbo charger makes it simple to go from 10 to 50 in about 10-15 mins.
This phone has a beautiful, vibrant screen. Not Giant, but not small either. The best part of this phone, is the lack of bloatware. It only has apps you are likely to use, and runs smoothly between apps. Nice 21 mp camera, with 8 mp (w/ flash) in the front. Both are more than sufficient, and will compete with many of the top dogs.
Don't spend $800 + dollars on a new phone. Buy this, and a new, highly functional powerful laptop, for the same price as a single s7 or iPhone 7.
