Great phone, Great value @ 5G

I had this phone for a week and has been excellent, fast, reliable, no bloated apps, 5G in 90% of the places I have been, regular updates, battery life, enough memory and expandable memory, Qualcomm chip, I love Moto's phone, been with them since early, to the smartphones now, X4, to the G Powers, compared to over $1K phones, for what I do, txt, apps, phone calls, is worth it, I only play games, movies, etc. once in a while, when I have too. But this phone is great for me for I do 90% of the time. I know is not the same Moto it was before, since is owned by Lenovo, but still heading to the right direction.

One of the best ways to beat the high cost of monthly cell phone cost, is to buy a unlocked phone. You can find good phones for well under 500 dollars. Then just take your phone to a high quality prepaid carrier and pay 40 dollars a month, with no hidden fees. I upgraded from a Samsung S6 that I paid 700 dollars for in 2016, but just 40 dollars a month for service, After phone outlay, my monthly mobile cost stay low. The Motorola 5g Ace is a bargain at 399. So kick those cell phone blues to the curb, and buy yourself a unlocked phone at Best Buy.

I went to bed last night with 70% battery left!!! Its not a thousand dollar phone and should not be judged as such so ignore the snobby experts who compare it to something much more unaffordable. Im upgrading from a S7 edge that I have owned for 3 years. Its snappy fast in comparison, has a great screen, and battery life is so amazing. Most people just want a reliable phone where they dont have to bother about being attached to the charger like this one. The snobby experts suggest buying the more expensive Big Tech Google Pixel which doesnt have as good as a battery and no SD card. No thank you. I love this and I am ordering another phone for my wife. And if you live in Oklahoma City... Mint mobile is crazy cheap without a contract and provides great 5G! 60mpbs down and 50mbps up. Thats Mint mobile using the T mobile towers by the way.

Ok, Pros..Large Bright Screen, Super Fast Snappy Processor, suitable for 5 spreadsheets open at once and your stock tickers in trade mode with both Teams and Outlook running in the background as fast and as good as any phone that costs a grand. Battery lasts for 2 days avg use and 3 on standby...maybe the best 5000 mili Amp skam. diagram for power consumption I have seen. 128 on board, 5g, aux jack and micro SD slot...Please Phone snobs should have their heads examined. You can game Call of Duty with no lag or Freeze for 12hrs or more on one charge. Cons Only Ok Camera, Poor Macro, No Zoom. plastic body, no Gorilla Glass, ships with Android 10. Mono Speaker. For $279 bucks this is the best mid range 5g phone you can buy. It doesn't need Super AMOLD or 90k refresh rates..and neither do you. This LCD delivers a hi res crisp ppi that is bright enough for most situations. The speaker is mono but loud enough to fill your board room. Also no phone can deliver true stereo because in order to do that the channels need to be further apart than any phone can place the speakers, Look it up. Try it..Add a quality case, a set of ear buds or head phones and you just saved $600 over the cost of that Galaxy.

Nice phone-works with Verizon post troubleshooting

I upgraded from and unlocked G7 to the unlocked Moto One 5g Ace. This phone has exceeded my expectations; 1) The screen is great - extremely sharp resolution 2) Very snappy and smooth - no hiccups 3) Cameras are fine, at least multiple times better than the G7 4} Battery life is pretty good, though time will tell. Now for Verizon - As many complained, text messaging did not work initially so I went to a Verizon store. The rep talked to a Verizon engineer who fixed the issue, but that fix disabled phone calls. Another call to the Verizon engineer fixed that as well. This is a Verizon issue, not a phone issue, so if you purchase an unlocked phone and experience these problems, go to your local Verizon store for a fix before returning the phone. Best Buy requires a $45 restocking fee which is a bad deal. However I needed the phone right away so I took the chance. Next time, I would order directly from Motorola. In summary, at the $349 sale price this is a good phone. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is my first new phone in a long time and it is my first new smart phone. I read the reviews and recommendations for upgrading a phone so I did the backups from my old, hand me down, smart phone. The tech at Best Buy got the phone up and running before we left the store and I was able to import my contact data from Verizon backup site. It all went smooth. Learning to use the phone was pretty easy. I did watch a number of youtube videos on the features and how to to setup various things. The phone works great, the camera works great for the type of photos I take. Very fast operating performance. Based on the some of the pro reviews I wasn't expecting a lot from the camera but I think it is great. Battery capacity hasn't gone below 80% since I got the phone but I am a lite use user. I love the large, clear display. It is very easy to see emails and websites. I am very happy with my purchase.

Best Buy Open Box is a Disappointment & Time Waste

    |
    Posted .

The phone is fine for the money and I am pleased with the purchase. Online Issues -- I ordered a supposed excellent condition open box phone that was delivered with missing parts and scratches. I tried to get a reduced price for the appropriate Satisfactory condition but they would only accept a return. I ordered the replacement Open Box excellent condition phone that was delivered with a missing part and an incorrect charger. I replaced it with a brand new one that I'm happy with. My recommendation is visit the store to review Open Box items and never buy an Open Box online which for me was a big waste of time and disappointment.

In general, a really nice phone. Although, for an unlocked phone, it still has too much garbage that needs to be reined in for security & data usage, disabled, or uninstalled. Many items cannot be as they are essentially 'admin' locked. Lastly, with Android 10 MiraCast has been taken out and replaced with Chromecast. No workaround. Cannot cast to my TVs anymore without the Chromecast device and the bloated Chromecast app for Android. May as well be connected to "The Matrix". I don't want to tether my surroundings to my phone, just want to cast FROM it. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the above.

Moto 5G Ace has the good stuff.

Its been 2 months using this Moto one 5g ace and it's been a pleasure to own. The speed, display and apps work as well as you can ever want. The back fingerprint reader is in a good spot and is very quick to respond. While this is a heavy device the big battery gives you plenty of screen time between charging. I get 12 hours on average with 35% left in the tank. I do video creation for YouTube so I'm a bit of a heavy user. To be fair, I do basic gaming so can't get into that. Would like charging to be faster than 15w. Android 10 works for me and near pure android is a super plus. The Moto gestures are icing on the cake. Photos are very good in bright conditions and good in lower light with the low light camera feature on. Videos are also good in bright conditions but struggle in dimmer light. This is not unusual for smartphones at any price point. 4k comes out well and video stabilizer does a nice job. The 10x zoom is best used at 3x as the focus gets dicey beyond it. Call volume has a separate slider and is plenty loud. Media volume is average but acceptable. No dual speakers. I'm very happy with this purchase and for under $400 you can't miss. Did I mention this is a 5G device?

This Motorola device is what the doctor ordered!! First the camera for a mid tier device is amazing… especially when using the wide camera view for those pictures where there is a lot of people!!! Next, the functionality.. it is easy to use … I bought this phone for an 84 year old that was switching carriers … and needless to say…. She understood all the main features in less than 20 minutes!!!! Easy to use** Camera Great!!!! I must say please get a case for it ..it is a little slippery for the hands… other than that….. great device for the price point!!!

First time unlocked phone purchase. Ran into a couple of snags with the activation, but for the most part once we figured it out, it worked well. I only gave 4 stars because we found out after the fact that 5G with Verizon Wireless is not yet supported, but should be updated in the near future. Other than that, my son is satisfied with his new Motorola One 5G Ace.

We have used Motorola phones as a less expensive alternate to iphones or Galaxies. The Ace does not disappoint. Great battery life at 1-2 days. The camera is so much better than my G7. I have not found anything it can't do. The intuitive features make the phone very versatile and it asks if you want to switch modes or activate features based on usage. It took me a while to get used to not having a 'button', but I am managing and it is getting easier to use. Overall, we are very impressed! Apple or Samsung who?

This phone does what it needs to do. Make sure you buy a new 5G SIM card. It will not work properly with an old 4G if you're upgrading. You will not receive texting back. It does have a great 5000 mAh battery and I can go two days before charging. I was disappointed in the camera, and have regrets choosing this phone over the Samsung S20. I chose Motorola for the price. Didn't want to spend too much for a basic phone. I do not use social media as much. The pictures are not as crisp as the Samsung. It also does not take indoor photos at all, even with night vision. Still trying to figure all the lenses out. Another issue I don't like is Google photos. I used to be able to take pictures and move them from my camera to a folder, and all my pictures were in folders. This phone keeps your photos in two places, so once I move it to a folder, it still keeps a copy on your google photos page, and if you delete it from one place, it deletes it from both. This also probably uses more space. Make sure you buy a protective case right away. A major con is that it has a very sensitive screen and will shatter when dropped. I found out the hard way. I was one day away from getting my case and dropped it, and just a heads up, not all repair places will work on Motorola phones, or have that screen in stock. Get coverage. I chose not to because the value of the phone is low and in so many years, have never used it. It was an $85 fix vs. $100 deductible. It's a personal choice. Another con is that it will not charge wirelessly. You basically get what you pay for, so do your research before buying.

I really loved this phone the crisp clean vivid screen, the speed, graphics for gaming and the camera. The problem is that Verizon prepaid could not get it to fully work on their network. Everything worked for me but I couldn't receive texts. I called Verizon tech support and by the time they were done nothing worked. So their answer was the phone was not compatible on their network. I knew it was bull shyt they just didn't know what they were doing if I'd have thought about it I'd have gone over to Spectrum Mobile. All in all this phone rocked for the low price.

for the Money this is a great phone - it has a Headphone jack, MicroSD, NFC, great CPU, and fantastic battery life. the only thing it lacks is 6GB of ram is not quite enough for power use... but you can kill apps and then you should have no problem running one app at a time. OS uses about 4GB. the only other thing this phone does not have is Wireless charging. personally, I am not a fan of this but you might be... It should be getting Andriod 11 soonish...

I have owned Motorola phones for the past couple of years but recently tried a different brand and I regret it. The phone kept having issues and wouldn't make calls(lol a phone that can't make calls). I switched back to this particular model and am very happy. The phone is a great size and the battery life is awesome. It has a decent camera (not great but good) and videos look great on screen. It is a 5g phone so very fast when using mobile data(make sure you're on a 5g plan or it won't take advantage of it). Overall the phone does its job well with little to no problems.

One 5G Ace 2021 is blazing fast

The Motorola One 5G Ace 2021 (Unlocked) 128GB Memory - Frosted Silver is exactly what is says - it has blazing speeds on 5G and has plenty of built in memory at 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage - comes with a super fast Snapdragon 750 5G processor Screen display is OK for its price range but compared to other models in the same range like the Nord 10 the camera and the screen rez both could have been better. This unlocked version works with GSM networks like TMO and other non contract networks - Motorola has come up with tough competition for the Chinese brands ..

    5G?

I have as yet to see this actually connect to 5G. It's always 4G LTE with some kind of animation which might be lightning strikes or the wind blowing. I hate to say it, but my cheap Walmart hold me over for now phone, also Motorola (which caused me to like this brand) was doing way better with connectivity than this. That one just did not have enough memory, and it was supposed to be a basic holdover. This new phone has plenty of memory. Works really well. Except when you're trying to do the internet over phone connection it drags. I had not experienced that since three phones ago. My most need for this is Google maps when trying to find a location out in the field. Low connection to no connection often. Again last phone not so much a problem as this. This means I can't recommend it as a primary phone. But I'm still good with the brand.
