Good but overpriced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is not bad but at $400, it's just way to overpriced for what it is. If you want a pure android one phone, you can get a nokia 7.1 with a better processor (snapdragon 636 instead of the 625 on the motorola one), better screen & better cameras for around $350. If you want a better deal, you can get a blu vivo xi plus with a way better screen, much faster processor, better cameras, wireless charging & way more features for only $280. Overall this phone would've been a very good one if it was in the $250 or lower price range but at $400, i just can't recommend it when you can get something much better for under that price.

Basic reliable smartphone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone might not have the best and latest specs of most higher end smartphones but it does what I expect from a phone really well. Camera is good for the price, software with android one is responsive and fast, battery last a long time, great audio quality on phone calls and the screen is big to consume media. I had the Nokia 7.1 for a couple of days and I prefer the Motorola one in hand feel and build quality better. Also the Nokia had some issues with the software optimization even after receiving android 9.0 update. Also the camera on Nokia had a glitch where whenever you open it up and closed it out and then opened it up again the previous image of the shot taken would pop up even if you were pointing the camera at different object. I haven't noticed that issue on the Motorola one camera. I am happy with my purchase.

It's not as good as my Moto x4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Videos don't focus. The camera is no better than the motox4 which is the main reason why I bought this phone. On the plus side it can handle anything for games, but it's exactly like my old phone. It's going back today...too bad

Seriously? A Snapdragon 625 processor?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone has a lot of great ideas behind it, but I really would have loved to have seen a higher end processor in it. Yes, I know it supposedly uses a simpler version of Android, but Moto, make a phone that competes in specs, has a great battery (4000mAH+), and you'll sell a lot of them! Mediocre phones are not going to make you profit.

No VoLTE support, poor battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Motorola missed the mark. The build quality of this phone and price puts it in the same class as decent mid-range device. With no VoLTE support using both a T-Mobile and AT&T post paid SIM, this is a crippled device. ZERO help from Lenovo/Motorola. Since Lenovo bought Motorola Mobility, the customer support has gone by the wayside. Neither AT&T or T-Mobile officially support the device, but both provider level 2 tech support state the SIMs are properly provisioned for VoLTE, and the Motorola One updated to Pie which supposedly supports VoLTE, but all calls drop to the legacy HSPA mode. Attempts to get help from Lenovo/Motorola were a waste of time. Even posted questions on their forums and no response from anyone at Lenovo. Battery life is also poor. Drains the battery in standby overnight with no apps running or installed down 50 percent. Returned it and bought a Galaxy S8+ unlocked and works perfectly out of the box with full network support and the battery lasts days even with moderate use. Motorola isn't what it once was. Will be the last Lenovo/Moto phone for me.

won't work with at&t LTE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this phone at the Best buy store. I made sure to ask the sales person if it would be comparable with att. They assured me it would. After many calls to at&t, and Motorola I find out that this phone does not have LTE bands 12/17 that are the main LTE bands that at&t uses. You can only receive LTE through att secondary bands. But if you receive or make phone calls or go into an area where you have 3g service the phone will not switch back to LTE unless you manually force it to everytime. Now after a week of owning the phone and finding out it's not comparable with at&t, I have to hope Best Buy will let me return it and not charge me the restocking fee.

Phone is okay, NO 4G on ATT Network
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this phone as a Christmas gift, because I liked the big battery. I noticed that my data was slow, always buffering, when I was not on Wifi. I went into ATT store and they put a new SIM card in, and I saw the 4G symbol for the first time. That lasted all of 20 minutes. I took the SIM card out and tried in an old Samsung phone, it worked fine. I sent the phone back to Motorola for a replacement. I just got a new one (refurb) and it has the same issue as the original. Best buy doesn't carry the phone anymore. I read online somewhere, that the phone does not have ATT 4G freqs programmed into it, and that maybe the issue. So it looks like I am back to Samsung.

Anybody with TMO Network, DO NOT BUY!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Featurewise - phone is decent. The phone does not carry frequency band that is compatible with TMO and supported network. Just works on AT and T. If you are on AT&T than go for it otherwise looks for something else. Moto/Lenovo Customer care does not respond !

Worst phone I've had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Motorola loyal customer for several years. I bought this phone in November of 2019. It is now May 2020 and it's unusable. It worked perfectly until the last update, but then it started randomly shutting off and would not read the SIM card. After using a different phone to contact Motorola customer service as the phone was under warranty, they refused to replace or repair it saying it was a network problem (I had already done troubleshooting through my service provider and my SIM and network were fine). I've had many moto phones and loved them, but after all this I may never buy Motorola again.
