Did not connect the sound from the camera to the monitor. I exchanged for another and same thing happened. Read reviews online and saw it was a common issue. Returned and got a different brand.

Hello and I am sorry to hear this. This is not a common issue and a simple reset should have helped, but I can hear your disappointment and we are sorry for this poor product experience. Just in case, the reset steps:
Parent unit (plugged in!): • On the left side of the monitor by the volume key you should see a small reset pin hole. • Using a pin, or something small enough to fit inside, press and hold in the reset button until your monitor powers itself off. • After what can take up to a minute, your monitor should then power itself back on. This will indicate that the reset has been completed successfully. You can now pair your camera back to the unit. (If it does not turn on automatically, please do it again and have the parent unit plugged in during this!)
We will also try resetting the Camera. You can do this by turning off the camera, pressing and holding the pair button, turn on the camera until you hear a beep. After this, you can attempt to re-pair the camera to the Parent unit.

The video and sound quality are great, but the battery life is TERRIBLE! The camera itself wont last more than a couple hours without being plugged in and the monitor used to last longer but it now doesnt last more than a few hours without needing to be plugged in. If the battery life was better, this would be a fantastic monitor.

This monitor was helpful when my son was sleeping in his nursery during daytime naps, but less so at night.
Pros and cons
Pros:
1. Visual indicator of sound level for when you have the volume muted or if you are away from the monitor or are hard of hearing.
2. Screen timeout options and morning alarm
3. Closed system for security; no wifi needed
4. Solid construction
5. Remote controlled camera rotation
Cons:
1. The temp monitor doesn't seem to work at all; it's been stuck at 78 degrees since I got it.
2. The night mode rarely swaps back to day mode. You have to face the camera nearly direct to the light source or else you end up with a night mode view with a washed out image
3. The mic seems to pick up all audio equally regardless of distance and direction; I had hoped it would prioritize the audio of whatever was in front of the camera, but the mic picks up me closing the microwave door several rooms away mire clearly than my son's fussing. The first time I used it in the night, I didn't wake up until he started to fully cry, and even then it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be.
Overall not a bad purchase, but it could ve improved.

***DO NOT BUY*** Camera worked great for several months until it started to fail.
***BUYER BEWARE*** - Motorola does not offer any phone support for this product, Customer service is non-existent on any baby monitor products, If you have an issue, it is very difficult to get a repair or replacement.
Our camera worked great for several months and then it started to fail. At first the cameras would lose connection and we would have to reset it. Then the screen started to fail.
Contacted the chat support because, no phone support is available. Provided them video documentation of the issue and was told to reset the device. The reset option failed.
After several hours and reps, I was told to send in the camera system to them at my own expense, which I did. They supposedly tested it for a week. They told me it had no issues.
They sent it back to me in a random box (so unprofessional). I opened the box and noticed they sent me a different used camera. When I turned it on, the image on the screen was worse than when I sent it in.
If you read this review and still choose to purchase a Motorola camera I will assume you love dealing with headaches.

Initially we had purchased a "Homiee" baby monitor from Amazon. We had issues with it and could not get the replacement soon enough. So we decided to purchase one from Best Buy and pick up. Here is why we hate it. (comparing with the Homiee system)
Monitor volume not loud enough at highest setting.
Antenna difficult to raise.
You need to go into settings to zoom in and out (should be one button).
Watching the screen is choppy. As if watching in slow motion.
Moving the camera up/down/left/right stops all sounds and video.
The camera up/down tilt angle is not enough (due to our placement)
Up/down left/right button placement confusing (maybe we got used to being on one side, one finger operation)
However monitor and camera connected automatically without any effort on our part.
