One, it is metal and my laptop has a magnet in it for holding a pen. When I move the laptop, the stand comes with it. This issue also seemed to interfere with my wifi. Two, it's a bit bulky to carry around for my taste. It takes up to much room in my bag. For these reasons, I returned the product, though it may suit you just fine.

I am impressed that it is sturdy, which was a concern I had. Nice way to increase space on your desk if you use a second monitor and keyboard.

I also tried to use it for a portable monitor, but it did not have a steep enough angle. If yhere was one more notch to get closer to 75-80 degrees it would be perfect.

When laptop is on this riser it can be even with my second monitor and works perfectly without slipping.
