Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Single Monitor Arm Desk Mount for its sturdiness, cable management, and ability to hold various monitor sizes, with some appreciating its price and ease of assembly. The design and tension adjustability are also well-received. However, some customers have reported issues with the arm's strength and tilting.

This shipped with a crooked "face plate" of whatever you want to call it, so my monitor as-installed was tipped at a 5º angle - and all of the components were so stiff that it was impossible to correct the tilt. Returning this and not even bothering with a second unit. Beware - it's cheaper than many competitors for a reason.

We are very unhappy with this item, and it's not useable for our monitor. We chose this according to the monitor's size and weight etc, but the arm will not stay up. It is one of the few things from Best Buy which hasn't worked for us.

      NicolaT,
The gas spring adjustment on the monitor arm can be turned counterclockwise with the allen wrench to stiffin the gas spring arm. This will allow the arm to hold the monitor tightly without going down.
      We appreciate your feedback.

It took a little work and reading to make it hold up a larger monitor. After adjustments it seems to be working well.

    Really hard to adjust

I will start with this is my first monitor arm. Maybe all of them behave this way. The quality of the arm is fine. The problem is that the clip where the monitor attaches to the VESA mount is very wobbly once inserted. As you move the monitor back and forth the monitor doesn't stay in place and will tend to shift towards you. (the top moves towards you and bottom towards the back of the desk) I was constantly having to make micro adjustments to get it back to where I wanted it. But I felt like I was twisting the monitor and was afraid that I was going to break the screen. It would be a great arm if I was leaving it extended towards myself and then only moving up and down. But I frequently move it back and forth. Going to return it.

might be a good product for others but I gave it a 1 because it did not work with my imac 27”, so I returned it.

Dear Customer, Unfortunately, the iMac 27" does not fall in spec for this product as it is over the weight capacity (20 lbs), so it will not be compatible with this unit. It is recommended to check the weight capacity and VESA of the mount and your display to make sure they are compatible. mount-it

I was excited at first because I saw a reasonably priced monitor mount then I received it and it was a complete piece of junk. Everything was smooth sailing up until I needed to lock the monitor in place. To lock it it requires an incredible amount of force and it wouldn't even support my 10lb monitor. I kept cranking and cranking the hex key that I broke the allen key in the box. I didn't stop there, I got my allen key set and started using that and the eventually stripped screw. Almost Mount-It!, almost.

Ill say its good at doing its intended job, the only down side is it really is hard to kove around on a glass desk.

Horrible mount and basically useless. Wasn't able to hold the weight its supposed to. My monitor is 19lbs and this mount should have been able to hold it,

Instructions sucked. Does not move easily and/or at all where it is supposed to be a spring arm. Bolt came out, etc. can't get it screwed back in.

Great Arm at a Fair Price

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Very nice arm for the price! These replaced some cheap arms that couldn't do the job. This arm claims to hold up to 20 lbs and my 18 lb monitor seems to be staying in place with full motion! The instructions were easy to follow for installation. The look of the arm is great as well. I feel the finish is a bit of a compromise because it feels like there is orange peel on the paint. As far as compromises go, I'd rather it be the paint than something like the gas springs. One other thing that is a bit annoying is that there is some play between the VESA adapter plate and the arm's adapter. So if you are trying to tilt it up or down it feels like you need to overshoot by 15 or 30 degrees.

This Device had to many parts to put together and had to drill into my desk. Better solution to buy a monitor that can rotate to portrait mode. Swivel monitor from Acer.

    Doesn't go high enough

Its fine. Easy to install...just clamps onto the side of your desk. The cable routing could definitely be better on the first arm...the plastic cover intended to hide cables comes off all the time. Didnt reach high enough for my setup. I still use it because I really didn't want to mess with returning it and buying another arm...so I guess its useful enough to keep. Just bear in mind if you are trying to use this to position one monitor on top of another one this arm will likely not go high enough for that to be possible.
