Great Travel-Sized Coffee Pot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This smaller sized 5-cup Mr. Coffee pot brews a decent cup of coffee, though flavor may depend on the coffee grinds you use and how strong you opt to make it (our general rule is one scoop is two cups). On opening the package, the pot was pretty much plug-in-and-ready-to-go just add water (for the initial clean cycle). We tried the timer, and without reading the instructions it was very intuitive how to set up and started right on time and brewed a hot pot of coffee. It seems to use standard coffee filters like our 12-cup pot (not the cone shaped ones). I'd say the coffee tasted at least as good (maybe better?) as our $100+ 12-cup coffee machine, but the advantage of this one is it is more portable and we can take it with us when we travel (I try to avoid using the coffee pots they provide in hotel rooms). Some of its standard features include: It has 2-hour auto shut off, and it will let you pull the pot out a short period to pour a cup before its done brewing. The basket which holds the coffee filter has little handles you can grab it with (just need to slide the arm which drips water out of the way, and back later), we were even able to lift it out while it was hot so we could empty it to prepare a second pot. I think I'm going to enjoy having this Mr. Coffee, and would recommend it.

It's Going Back
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What's hardest to believe is that this thing got approved for production. My 20-year old Mr. Coffee was simple and perfect. Why did someone decide to put a lid on the reservoir and filter basket area, only to have it drip condensation all over the counter and the hot plate, when you open it? Why did they design a lid for the carafe that overlaps the brim, so that it, too, can drip condensation? Finally, the stainless band on the carafe is now on the bottom, necessitating an overlap of the handle on the top of the carafe. This interferes with washing and drying the carafe. I wish that I had looked harder for a replacement for my broken carafe, before I threw out the old machine.

Coffee Maker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find this model to be an awkward design, compared to an earlier 5-cup model, but it does brew the coffee.

25 oz of Joe
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was impressed with how fast the water heated. In a matter of seconds the water was already flowing through the grinds. This coffee maker makes about a 25 oz carafe worth of coffee. Great for two people with normal sized coffee cups or one large insulated cup of morning juice. The entire unit is quite compact and does a great job. Standard filters or a reusable filer can be used but not included. Auto stop when the carafe is removed. Easy programming for auto start and setting clock. I can't find any fault with this bare bones maker. No bells nor whistles just coffee.

Right-sized coffee maker for one
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Working at home for the last few months has made me really miss the office coffee pot! At work, there was always coffee just steps away from my office. At home, I have a 12-cup Mr Coffee, but after we drink the first pot, I don't make more because of going back and forth to the kitchen. (Plus making 4 or 5 cups in the big pot seems weird to me, somehow). Enter the 5-cup (that's 25 oz) Mr Coffee!! This machine is sleek and small, taking up little space. The lid opens 'sideways' which enables it to have a flat top, which is easier to keep clean! With auto shutoff at two hours, this machine is just the right amount for the second half of the morning. This is an uncomplicated coffee maker for those who just want some good coffee. Yes, it has a timer, but that's it! No frou frou buttons, attachments, frothers, or steepers, it's a Mr Coffee! I have the machine upstairs in my home office and set it up the day before. That way, when I am deep in a project about 10 a.m., I can push one button and, voila'!, fresh, hot coffee in minutes. My side hustle is a goat farm and I am looking forward to taking this with me to the barn in January when the goats are kidding. This machine is very portable and easily fits into a shopping bag, along with other supplies. Also, we are returning to work on a limited basis soon, and will not be operating the community coffee pot (for virus protection?), so this little beauty is going with me! I bet a lot of folks at my office will be buying one of these soon.

Just set it and forget it. I use it every morning and it always brightens my day. The coffee is hot, but not excessive. The unit is easy to maintain as well. Cleaning is a breeze. No issues with hard to clean crevices or complicated assembly requirements. I highly recommend the Mr. Coffee - 5-Cup Coffeemaker, if you love coffee, it will add joy to your mornings, giving you wonderful start to your day.

Small and Simple
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Mr. Coffee programmable coffee maker is great at what it does, which is to simplify making coffee. Essentially you add water to the supply tank, put coffee into the filter area and press a button. You can set a start time so that it will turn on and run a cycle for you at a specified time of day or just hit another button and it will start the device right away. You can also interrupt a cycle to pour a quick cup of coffee for yourself and then let it complete the entire cycle of up to 5 cups. That’s it. How good or bad the coffee is will strictly depend on the quality of water and the coffee grounds you put in it. It is a very solid unit with a nice 25 ounce glass carafe. Cleaning is easy as there are only a few parts and they can be removed and replaced without any fuss. One rather clever feature is that there is a water-arm above the coffee grounds that you pivot away when you put the grounds in; when you close the lid, the arm will pivot back automatically over the coffee in case you had forgotten to move it back. People who want to do their own grind will find this a handy alternative to the pre-filled types of coffee pods. You could make the coffee without using paper filters, however it was best to use the paper filters to ensure fewer grounds in your coffee. I do recommend this item as an economical option for great tasting coffee when you don’t want a lot of features that some would not use.

Shuts off at random times after or during brew
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice looking coffee maker, makes good coffee. Unfortunately it is not reliable - it is supposed to shut off 2 hrs after making coffee. Sometimes it does, but other times it shuts of earlier, including mid-way through brewing.

Spend more for something that works.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The maker overflowed twice in the first two weeks because it doesn't allow for proper flow into the pot below. When that happens liquid falls onto the buttons and display causing them to not work. I stopped using because it smelled like burning electronics and then wouldn't let me turn it off without unplugging.

it's a coffee pot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grabbed this to supplement our single cup brewing system and I'm not disappointed. It's a cheap little drip coffee maker and so far it works as you expect. Put in a filter, put in your coffee, hit the button and you're good to go. I like how small it is since I've already got a lot of gadgets on my counter. It's also a bit sturdier than I expected based on the price. The main body of the coffee maker has this nice durable feeling matte black plastic, but the interior bits - the water dispensing arm and the coffee tray are super thin and very flimsy feeling ... all of which is completely normal for a budget drip coffee maker. So far it works and I can't complain. If you're looking for a small drip coffee maker for your home, office, or dorm this one is as good as any you're likely to find.

It overflows in the brewing process
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only fill the water up to the line for 3 cups. That's my daily routine. The old version of this had no problems whatsoever. It could also hold a filter for 8 cups. This one barely holds a filter for 4-6 cups - gets all scrunched up in there. Then when I brew, the filter holds everything and it drains so slowly into the actual carafe. I've tried 3 different ways to get this to work. If anyone has a tip, please let me know. I miss my old coffee maker!!

Good coffee
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker has everything I need and is bargain priced. I'm the only coffee drinker at my house so the smaller size is perfect for me. I don't drink more than 2 or 3 cups a day (my cup is about 10 oz). Has a clock with timer if you want it ready when you wake up or you can start it now and wait a few minutes. Also has a cutoff valve to pause when the carafe is removed if you can't wait for it to finish. Use with paper filters unless you want to buy a permanent filter for it. I prefer the paper ones as you can just dump them in the trash without having to wash the filter out getting some grounds down your drain. The smaller size also takes less counter space. If you're not a heavy coffee drinker it might be a better alternative for you. Has a warming plate to keep it hot. Also has auto shutoff after a couple of hours. Mr. Coffee is still my favorite brand of coffee makers. They're simple and affordable.

Makes coffee, but faulty.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee is just OK. It doesn't work properly and everytime I make a pot of coffee and go back a few minutes later to pour a cup, the pot has turned off and the coffee is already getting cold. Just encourages me more to get a Keurig.

Bad choice
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably one of the worst coffee makers I’ve ever had. Went with the 5 cup because it is just me drinking it. The unit is very awkward, it won't accept normal size filter properly and it would shut off half way through. It went in the trash.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my other Mr Coffee 4 pot machine. But guess what, the reusable filter doesnt fit the new model. Neither do any other filters known to man. THIS machine has proprietary filters that cant be bought in stores so you have to buy their specific model at a premium price. Who do they think they are, Apple? No thanks they can keep their proprietary garbage and I'll be getting my money back to buy something better.

Slow, slow, slow
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The coffee maker takes forever to make a pot. I have no issues with the flavor of the coffee this unit makes only the time it takes to get a cup! I would not buy this again.

Scalding Hazard needs product recall
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this because it said 5-cup capacity and 4-cup machines do not fill my mug completely. I have not been able to find any 5-cup filters to properly fit this coffee maker anywhere. Two brands of the 4-cup filters I tried both overflow causing grinds to jam the pause & serve valve letting hot coffee spill on hand if you are not very careful

Mr. Coffee = Mr. Reliable for a Good Cup of Coffee
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I have had several coffee makers over the many years we’ve been together and as such, have had the opportunity to use different brands of coffee makers. We always end up coming back to good ol’ Mr. Coffee; you just can’t go wrong with its reliability. It always makes the perfect cup of coffee, and this newest version is again, right on the money. There’s just no equal to its brand recognition, and for good reason. It just works, and works well. It works better than some of the fancier and more expensive brands that add on all the erroneous bells and whistles—if you simply want a good cup of coffee day in and day out, get this coffee maker.
