Design The design with the Raider series is top notch. The glow that comes from the laptop is amazing between the customizable backlit keyboard and LEDs on the cover. The brushed aluminum on the lid gives a high end feel. The ports are perfectly set with a good variety including 2 USB 3.0 ports and SD card reader. There is nothing here I would change Display The display on this laptop is great overall. The display is sharp with great color saturation with the 1920x1080p display. This model is the 15.6” which is plenty. With somethings, the display could be just a little bit brighter but overall it is great. Keyboard I love the keyboard on the Raider RGB! The keys are responsive with no lag. They also have a good click to them with very little travel distance. This makes it nice to write on. The preset RGB flows are great and attention grabbing. The steel series app is the only hindrance with having some lag between changing the colors on the keyboard and it taking effect. I have had a couple times where I need to restart the computer to change the settings. This isnt a huge deal but can be annoying if trying to change the settings. Audio The overall sound was great with this. You can crank the music pretty loud with little distortion. The bass could have been a bit more but it is not a deal killer. I really like the software in this laptop because you can adjust the settings based on whats playing such as music vs movies. Performance This is where this laptop shines. Multitasking is a breeze with the Raider RGB. I have been able to stream Netflix while editing photos without any issues. Currently have Overwatch installed and have the settings maxed out without any noticeable frame drop. I have yet to encounter any stuttering issues or any issues. The fans help to balance things out with this including the cool boost button by the keyboard. Battery life This is the weakest point of the laptop which lasts for about 2hrs depending on usage. When buying the Raider RGB, I knew that the battery would suffer due to the performance demands. I use this occasionally on the go but have it more as a mobile powerhouse to game and blog knowing that I will need to bring the charger. Traveling long time will be a downfall to this laptop. If you plan ahead and keep this in mind, you can get by with minimal issues. Overall I would highly recommend this laptop. I have had it for just under a month and have not been disappointed! This is by far the best laptop that I have ever owned!

I was already happy with this deal, but when I went through the registration process with MSI, I found I was eligible for all kinds of extras. It seems that they frequently have various rolling promotions. I really like MSI because they configure machines with almost every combination of components you may be looking for. This machine offers a great configuration - i7, with 16GB, great dedicated graphics card and a large hard drive. Even better, it has the best backlit keyboard with a whole selection of colorful illuminations to choose from. For typing purposes, the tall keys may not be as comfortable for extensive typing tasks.

This Laptop is perfect. Absolutely amazing and smooth. Runs games perfectly stays cool and fans are quiet. Only had to use turbo fans on major AAA games and when you do it stays very cool. FPS is great plus the built in monitor can handle 120fps and has 3milla second refresh rate and has great color ratio. Speakers are great and comes with nahimic audio software for complete customization. Looks great RGB keyboard is fun. Easiest set up and customizabilty/setup I've ever seen very streamlined no issues updating drivers or any other setup processes. traded in my water cooled tower for this laptop and have not looked back. 10/10. (also upgradablity is easy on this laptop should be cheap to upgrade it to a very very powerful machine later on.) This laptop is everything you hope it will be.

I've only had the computer for a couple of days, but I'm quite impressed. To start off, the computer is probably the prettiest designed computer I've ever owned. The RGB lights are the main attraction, but they do run the battery low. That's a big issue when the max battery life is only around 5ish hours. Keep this in mind when purchasing, because if you use crazy vibrant lights you'll only have about 2-3 hours of battery. Compared to other gaming computers like the Razer 15 Blade or Alienware 15, this holds its own. It has NVIDIA GeForce 1060 graphics card which is not their top-tier best but is MORE THAN enough to handle games like MKX or Call of Duty in full graphical glory. If you're like me, you should compare other MSI models and see how close the GPU and CPU are, then make the best decision for your budget. If you have almost $2500 get a Titan but if you're on a college student budget this computer isn't too outlandish. Lastly, the drive space is pretty huge. I have multiple games saved on the computer and still have hundreds of GB left. However, you have to pay attention to where you download and save files because the default is the smaller SSD. I made that mistake and had to try and migrate as much as I could to the HDD. PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE YOU PUT YOUR FILES! All in all, I'm enjoying the computer and it checks my box. I needed a powerful computer with lots of space that could play hardcore games yet handle creative programs like 3DS Max and Blender. For the price, this computer is an awesome choice but beware of the low battery life and where you put your files.

Purchased this laptop at the end of 2017. It has done anything but disappoint. The MSI applications are great, the case for the laptop is one of the best looking more adorable ones I have ever owned. Would Highly recommend to anyone looking in the gaming laptop world

It's a very fast and technically capable computer but the build quality is worse than any laptop I have ever come across in my 15 years of network administration, handling hundreds of computers. The cheap plastic lid hinges will quickly break no matter how gentle you are with the lid. I had only opened the laptop about 20 times before the hinges snapped. I will never buy another MSI after owning this laptop.

I like the keyboard light and how it shinny and amazing.

Right out of the box this laptop is an absolute beast. Easily running 60fps is any title. The display is the best in the business, and for a gamer I’d recommend this laptop anytime.
