Excellent Gaming Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is one of the best pieces of equipment I have ever owned. To begin with, it excels at doing its main task, gaming. I was able to run most of my games at high settings, and some of them even at ultra settings, while maintaining a steady frame rate. While it gets considerable hot during heavy graphical loads, the graphic card definitely does a better job than older models at maintaining a reasonable temperature. For everything else, like school work, this laptop is beyond capable. The processor and ram can more than handle any engineering and coding software I use. Streaming movies look very clear and colorful. As far as the hardware, the trackpad is not the best out there for a gaming laptop, but it does a very good job for most tasks, except gaming at which case an external mouse is needed. The keyboard is beautiful, not only it is very responsive and comfortable, but it also has a very attractive RGB lighting layout. The screen, again, is very sharp and vivid. I wasn't particularly fond of the speakers but I tend to use headphones with most laptops as they rarely have decent speakers. One aspect that has me a bit concerned is the durability of the laptop, as most of it is plastic, and I have heard that the hinges can wear off quite fast. However, so far they seem to work very well and as of now to me the laptop looks durable enough to earn a five star rating. Overall, I am very happy with the laptop.

Great concept computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this computer for 2 and 1/2 years and it was great I wanted something that was light and thin so I could use it for school but still have the speed and graphics to play the games I wanted. This thing did it all. The only thing I could say bad about it was it does get hot so I had to buy a cooling pad but considering how thin and compactable it is this is a expected trade off.

It Can Handle My Limits.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now that I have upgraded to the MSI I can play every game in my library on those legendary settings you only see top steamers play on. It's as if the impossible goal is now in reach. The best part is, no matter how high I crank the graphics, this laptop (A LAPTOP) can handle any challenge I throw at it. The craziest thing is how light this computer is. It is not nearly as bulky as most gaming laptops. Carrying it around is a dream compared to the massive cargo you would have with any other option. I don't know how MSI did it but for me they made the perfect laptop!

Yeah, I went there. Glad I did, too!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first: I've only owned this for 3 days, but I've put babout 16 hours on it already, and when a laptop on a store site like BestBuy has a 4.8/5.0 star rating after over 2000 reviews... you gotta take notice. Uses: Gaming via Steam (like Borderlands, Skyrim, etc), Video Editing (Adobe Premier), YouTubing, general web browsing, etc. Reivew: MSI. I've been PC gaming since back in the day... I mean like, GameSpy just started up and I was playing Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear on multiplayer, to back when Doom was new, and Oregon Trail was still on the 4.25 floppies drives. MSI got their biggest notariety from making Video Cards... which is what attracted me to this laptop. I've been an IT guy my whole life (degrees, certs, jobs, etc) and I also know that when you buy a brand you are buying warranty and customre support. The computer runs as expected... lightning fast, games at MAX video levels with NO lag, Adobe Premier CC 2019 loads in seconds (compiled a 1.5 gb video in 120 seconds the other day), keyboard is customizable. Everything runs as advertised, so far. Have not needed the warranty/customer support yet, but I'm hoping I won't need it! 10/10 would buy again, and have been recommending it to everyone. Not the cheapest, but WELL WORTH THE BUY!

AWESOME!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i purchased this laptop after an unfortunate experience of having my old macbook air drop dead on me and my old gaming rig being too outdated to bring up to spec and decided, what the heck, i'll go all in on a decent gaming laptop since i don't have space for a desktop. its everything i could want and more! the computer itself is a quite compact form factor and light as well, making it perfect for school, or just a great option to use at work when there's down time. in addition, its fairly discrete, at first glance you may not even notice its packing an i7 processor and a 1060 graphics card. its also pretty quiet when youre just browsing the web, watching youtube videos or doing school projects, which is always a plus. When i did load up some graphically straining games, it surprisingly took a while for the fans to really start screaming. The only things i have a slight concern with are the touchpad, which feels a bit mushier than i'd like, and the speakers are quieter than other laptops, but those are minor concerns because i use a mouse and headset 99% of the time anyway, and feel that most people who buy this will be doing the same All in all, totally worth every dollar i spent, and i would not hesitate to recommend this laptop to friends and family!

Too Good to be true
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is equipped with a GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5, 16 GB of DDR4 memory @2400Mhz, an 8th generation Intel i7-8750H, 256 M.2 SSD Storage, and an 1TB SATA HDD at 5200 RPM. This laptop, with the new next gen. Intel processors, is too strong that it can handle just about any games and intense programs at ultra settings 1080p @60Hz (yes the screen is only 60 Hz). If I were to simplify what I just wrote in a sentence it would be. "This thing can run almost any game or software out there." 10/10 would buy the next line of MSI Laptops

GREAT MSI LAPTOP.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GREAT LAPTOP, I WAS LOOKING FOR A LAPTOP TO USE WITH A FLIGHT SIMULATOR GAME AND MY WORK, AND REALLY THIS GAMING COMPUTER IS ABLE TO RUN MY GAME (FLIGHT SIMULATOR) IN THE BEST GRAPHICS, DUE TO ITS ENVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060. AND PROCESSOR. I HAD ONLY USED OTHER BRANDS BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO USE MY FLIGHT SIMULATOR AND I NEEDED SOMETHING MORE POWERFUL IN GRAPHICS. THE OTHER THING I LIKED IS SLIM AND NICE. I AM SATISFIED WITH MY PURCHASE, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS LAPTOP TO ANY THAT IS LOOKING FOR A GOOD GAMING LAPTOP.

Great machine with some minor tradeoffs!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this laptop during a Best Buy sale while considering a few other laptops, in particular the ASUS GU501GM. The ASUS happened to be sold out at the two different Best Buy stores I went to, and this MSI laptop was also suggested as an alternative at each store. Ultimately, I decided to pick this laptop up to due to having the same processor, RAM and GPU, while also having a larger SSD at a discounted price. Cosmetically, the MSI GS63 strikes a balance between looking professional but also having a slight gamer aesthetic. I like the finish even though it leaves fingerprints. The MSI logo lighting up on the back is also a nice touch. CPU performance has been great. As a graduate student, I needed to be able to utilize CPU power of the i7-8750H for my research. It has not disappointed. Although the CPU runs hot and the fans run a little loud, I didn't observe any thermal throttling so far. As for gaming, I haven't really fully tested its capabilities yet. I don't game nearly as much as I used to but it's nice having the 1060 there for the future. I tested Dota 2 and some other games was happy with the performance. Keyboard feels nice to type on with its fairly long key travel. The lighting is a little too fancy for my tastes. I played with some of the fancy RGB profiles, but most of the time I keep it at one color or turn it off. It's also nice being able to set a profile specifically for Dota 2 to highlight the keys I use in-game with a different color. That being said, I don't love the tenkey layout. When numlock is off, I don't like where the home/end/pgup/pgdown keys are placed in the tenkey and haven't quite gotten used to them. The touchpad on the other hand, is part of the reason I've put 4 stars on this review. It's functional, but the button lacks good tactile feedback and uses ELAN drivers. That being said, most of the time I use a mouse so it isn't really an issue. Speakers are also just okay to me. No complaints, but I haven't used them enough to really give a more definite opinion. Port selection is great. Plenty of USB ports, ethernet, SD card slot, good display out options as well as the "future-proof" thunderbolt 3 port is also nice. However, I wished the ports were flipped on their respective sides, since my hdmi cable gets in the way of my mouse occasionally. Overall, I am fairly happy with the purchase. Would have given 5 stars if it not were for the mediocre touchpad and keyboard/port layout. If there was an option, I would have put 4.5 stars out of 5. Looking forward to how this laptop holds up in the future!

Great Laptop for the most part.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for working primarily and needed something that had a powerful processor. The GPU having multiple outputs is great. It can also be used as a video editing machine and can do that pretty well, which was a bonus for me. I was also able to use the thunderbolt 3 port to convert to FireWire to connect my audio recording interface and the laptop can run protools like a champ. It’s portabilty is great as well, which of course you are paying more for as you can get a gaming pc tower with simlar specs cheaper but for me portability was key for doing work in the field. Full number pad is great as well on built in keyboard. The track pad is not the greatest on it but I use a mouse most of the time. I’m comparing it to my old Mac that definitely felt a little more polished but not a huge deal to me. Also it is a difficult machine to upgrade because of how the components are pieces together internally but that is generally true for laptops vs towers anyway. Bottom line it’s a pretty great laptop and very powerful for things like programming, video and audio editing, and of course gaming for its size. Also very light. I would recommend it.

Overall Great and User Friendly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop so far has not given me any problems. I have yet to use the laptop for gaming. However, the laptop is extremely fast and does not get hot for normal use. Manuals to fully understand the laptop's properties and software are scattered through the internet, but once found it is very easy to understand how to use the laptop at its full capacity. The dragon center is absolutely incredible. It helps keep the user informed about the laptop's status and makes it easy to make many adjustments. The multiple ports are extremely beneficial as well. The fans are not loud at all, but I'm assuming the noise pollution will be average when high performance games are being used. The storage is just the right amount for this day and age. Absolutely worth the money and should definitely be an option when deciding to buy a new and up to date laptop.

Thin and stylish gaming laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop has handled games such as skyrim and ark with ease. I usually play with the highest settings possible, unless a game is overly demanding like ark. The fans get pretty loud when frame rates are high, but they are super quiet under normal loads. I use a laptop stand with a fan built in, which keeps things cool. The laptop is surprisingly thin for the components included, and the steelseries keyboard is fun and enjoyable to look at and use. The power button is in an unusual location, but works well. The computer feels well constructed, even though it is lightweight. This is my first MSI computer. I paid more than I usually pay for a gaming pc, so the components are a slight upgrade to what I am used to. The initial setup gave me some scary moments. After one update the screen took several minutes to show anything on the display. There was no warning that this might occur. Fortunately, after a bit of patience everything started up normally. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase so far, and I hope the PC lasts a long time.

Great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this has been an incredible laptop. The overall design is very sleek but understated compared to other "gaming" machines. Performance is great. Love the feel of the keyboard and the lighting is nice. The bottom surface has a felt material which is a really nice touch. Very happy with this purchase.

Great for gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally a gaming laptop I can fully rely on! I was looking for a solid choice that wasn't overpriced and able to run majority of the games. As I've found myself traveling nowadays, whether from one work to another, to be able to use the laptop in my free time, this is a solid, perfect computer in my opinion. The steelseries keyboard gives it a nice feel, with colorful, fully customizable keybindings/ color effects. Just tried out few games including Rainbow 6 Siege and Doom. Finally being able play these titles on very high or even ultra is just perfect. Though, with some high performance titles, the laptop can get bit heated. I'd recommend a laptop fan pad just in case. All and all, I'd say I'm very happy with this product and would likely recommend it.

WOW
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an electrical engineering student and have long been avoiding buying a reliable, quality laptop just cause I have been avoiding the cost. I knew this coming year I would need to purchase something that will handle the programs I use for school, as well as do some decent gaming since I will basically be spending all my spare time stuck on campus. I shopped around for a good week or so, reading reviews, doing all the research for the current market, etc....this set up from Best Buy exclusive build by MSI is by far the most competitively priced higher end gaming rig I could find. Brought it home and the thing just works fantastic...the keyboard and build is beautiful and it is everything I expected and wanted in a laptop. If you are looking for a laptop that doesnt weigh 100 pounds, is appealing on the eyes, can game, can be mobile without being bulky and is built out of quality components this has to be the rig you go for.

Really worth it's price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really loved my MSI GS63, it has everything I needed, plus more. The only problem I have with it is the fact that the caps lock light is on the front side of the laptop, and not anywhere on the keyboard, which is a bit annoying for me. Besides that, I really like how lightweight and thin it is, easy to move around. This is a great laptop if you are looking to play games on the go without any trouble.

Good overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work as a software developer, so I purchased this for work, not for gaming. The main things I was looking for were CPU, memory, and form factor. I had it running dual-booted with Linux the day I bought it. Boot, root, and swap on the SSD, everything else on the HDD. nvidia drivers will give you a headache... but no surprises there. Pros: * I love the keyboard. Stroke length is longer than most laptop keyboards, but I like the positive feedback. The RGB lights are a gimmick. * Trackpad is very responsive and is well positioned for my fat thumbs, but... * Screen is crisp. Some reviews said it's too dim, but I don't have any complaints (I'm typing this in front of a bright window without problems). * Lots of ports. Ethernet, USB, thunderbolt... (bite me, Apple!) * Has a physical esc key (more hate for MacBook Pros here). * Form factor. It's thin and not too heavy for a "gaming laptop". I won't have any problem travelling with this. Cons: * Ad-ridden bloatware from MSI and Steelseries. Not to mention the hour you spend on each fresh Windows install deleting their crap and setting privacy. * The touchpad buttons are awful. Like nearly unusable. They require about 30lbs force to move. Thankfully, tap-to-click works really well, so I never use them. * The speakers. This is the only thing Apple does right; they have great laptop speakers. I had an HP Spectre last year, and they sucked, too. Overall, I think it's a good deal (especially if you can find it discounted or promo). I did install CoD since it came as a promo. Graphics are spectacular, I got stabbed and gave up. :)

Great Laptop for the Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started my new laptop search last year about this time after owning an ASUS G74sx for about 5 years. The thing was massive for a laptop, but it worked well. Based on my previous experience with Asus I decided to try another one and chose the Asus - ROG GL502VM 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 12GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. This was a nice laptop and seemed to run D3 and WOW well with consistent FPS and compared to the previous brick I had been carrying around, the size and weight difference was amazing. However, after about a month, I turned it off one night and it never turned back on. During the exchange process I decided to go with MSI - GS Series Stealth Pro 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. The specs between the Asus and the MSI models seemed somewhat marginal but I really liked how sleek the MSI was. The MSI Stealth pro was awesome. It was light weight and I could run Blizzard games without issue. About a month ago, it started randomly booting to the BIOS screen upon start up. I took it in, they downloaded the new BIOS updated and sent me home. After the second night home, same thing, randomly booted to BIOS. Currently the best thing on the market for what I was getting in credit for exchange is the MSI - 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 – Pretty much the exact same thing I purchased the year prior but with the 8th Gen Intel Core i7. This thing is super-fast and the RBG Steel series keyboard is amazing to look at. I hope that I don’t run into more issues with MSI as I think they have the best cost/performance ratio on the market right now.

Quiet and thin gaming laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop for college that could somewhat game and also be a thin and light. At first all the thin and light were either underpowered or way out of my budget. And then I met this. It was thin and surprisingly light for a gaming laptop. The fans are mouse quiet on idle which is a huge plus. The keyboard has some great presets out of the box and it looks amazing. Sure this is not as polished as the newer MSI GS65 but this is cheaper and has the same specs which will suit people well. My only irk about this laptop is it's trackpad. You need to use an insane amount of force to actually have it click but that is somewhat mitigated by the touch tap. Other than the touchpad, there is a number of bloatware that comes preinstalled but that's a minor point. All in all, this is a great laptop that I will be expecting to use for a while.

Best Laptop I could find
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do a lot of "shared work" with my computer (4 screens, several external hard drives, 2 printers, and a lot of programs running simultaneously, I chose this PC after having returned three other PC's ( different makes) no one could cope with my work or did not have enough ports. The MSI is doing the job effortlessly, smaller than other gaming laptops of similar power and with plenty of communication ports. Apart from that, most modern Laptops are plastic, my last one was a plastic one and even is still working fine, the plastic became brittle and breaks easily, MSI comes in metal. and what I like most is that it comes with a software that will burn the whole system to media (Optical, SD, FlashDr5ive or as an image to another disk, allowing me to restore the system in the event I change the Windows C drive, Presentation is excellent also and includes all the information you need Thank you MSI and BestBuy Also I have to give five stars to BestBuy as they processed my returns without a single word
