    Gaming on the go!

I've been very impressed with the sheer amount of power in a laptop weighing less than 4.5 pounds. 8th gen Intel processor, 1060 gtx, and 16 gb DDR4 RAM means that it should be able to play games for at least several years to come. The fact that it's relatively thin and light means that gaming on the go can be a reality. Just make sure to bring your AC adaptor though, since intensive gaming will quickly drain the battery. That's probably my biggest gripe, however it's something to be expected in a laptop with these specs in such a small form factor. The screen itself is solid at being full HD @ 60Hz, delivering a crisp picture, so I don't feel that I'm missing out not having a 4K or 144 Hz display. The speakers are ok, but don't get that loud. Most people will opt to use headphones when gaming. I had also tried the ASUS ROG GU501GM that Best Buy also carries and opted to go with the MSI. The ASUS is over 1 pound heavier and although the speakers were louder, I was getting a rattling in one of the speakers if the volume was turned up.

    Excellent & Portable Gaming Laptop

I and my brother were looking for a gaming laptop which we could use for school/leisure. We actually did little research about PC builds before making this MSI GS63 Stealth-010 purchase in-store at Best Buy. I would give many plus points for this laptop due to its user interface setup. With the Steelseries Engine 3, you can easily assess to your keyboard and handle its backlights as much as you wish. I was super impressed with the entire build in SteelSeries Engine app (Configurations Windows). You can create your own space in this device by customizing various functions in the Configurations Windows manually. My keyboard was overly satisfactory and responsive; easy to type on it for long hours. This laptop has a different range of battery modes. You can change the battery modes through the Dragon Center app. I set mine to ECO mode when not running games (when running on ECO mode, battery life stays longer). The display is not a touchscreen (better battery saver) and it is 15.6" Full Widescreen LED (1920 x 1080 resolution). The cooler boost works properly when switching between apps or running a game like Overwatch. I do expect a gaming laptop with less fan noise, however, it doesn't bother me much when operating heavy systems and apps. The storage is upgradeable 256GB SSD + 1TB Hard Drive which is plenty of space for your PC apps and games. NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 is one of the best features for most gaming PCs. The NVIDIA Geforce experience did an excellent job over my expectations. I have no issue when playing my video games for multiple hours. That's all the laptop brings to me. I would recommend this MSI product to other people I know. Thanks for reading this review.

The fan's little too loud and heats up like a toaster but what can I expect from a gaming laptop. It is really fast and slim and I like it so far. Only complaints I have is the fan noise and keyboard backlight is little too bright but that's changeable. Overall it is a Great computer

I am an elite member and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I actually returned my Asus ROG because this was the laptop I originally wanted. Plus with the student discount it came out to be the same price for a much better upgrade!! It has a bigger SSD drive with 256gm and a 1tb hard drive. the machine has a nice expensive feel to it while maintaining its reputation in performance. the software for the keyboard allows the lights to be extremely customizable. this computer is a perfect fit for anyone due to the speed and the ability to customize/personalize.

The first gaming laptop i have ever owned. I custom built my own desktop and work in a IT Repair store. When i went to buy the laptop the first one i got had a defective part and it was the last one in the store. After going through the very kind people at customer service I was able to exchange it and get another one at a different store. Despite the first one i got being defective I would highly recommend this laptop. It beats out my custom desktop that was only built two years ago. It runs almost all triple A titles at max or high settings. When playing games it does get very hot and can almost overheat if on a bed or not properly venting the heat. I highly recommend getting a cooling pad and even trying to replace the thermal paste with better paste if you know how. This laptop has a very slim design and makes it very easy to take with you to work or school.

This laptop has it all, slim, lightweight and very, very powerful and fast. Compared to the DELL G7 with the same specks this one packs and extra punch, and the customization options are just awesome. Overclocking if desired, is possible, both on CPU and GPU as well as RAM. But it really does not need it. Battery Life was very descent, considering the customization you can use to save battery life. I have a few gaming laptops that we use for our business needs, and these are among the best.

I wanted something that was thin and light for portability, but also had the power to run bigger titles like PUBG and some emulators. The GS63 Stealth checks all those boxes and executes games perfectly. In my playing of PUBG, a pretty demanding (and unoptimized game) I never dipped below 60 fps on high settings. Overall, the specs of this laptop mixed with a sleek aluminum design that's the thinnest laptop with a full 1060 make the GS63 Stealth a great purchase by my standards.

Amazing Gaming Portable Laptop With So Much Power!

This is a great lightweight gaming laptop that is great for both gaming and content creators! Having a gtx 1060 is more than enough to run games such as Overwatch and Fortnite, but it is also packed into a laptop that only weighs 5lbs! Intel 8th gen processor will definitely help with handling lots of content creator tasks such as adobe photoshop, premiere, etc. Only downside to this laptop, is that MSI used the same casing as the previous instead of the GS65 (gold trimmed) model. Just a small issue that has nothing to do with actual performance. The 60hz screen instead of 144hz screen is a huge downside, but still doable since this is the 1060 model. Keyboard and trackpad are great, will definitely recommend a mouse over the trackpad. Also perfect amount of storage 1tb hdd + 256 ssd.

This laptop performs very well with the specifications that it has! Ran into a fixable issue while gaming: default graphics for games initially is the integrated intel gpu, but going to the graphics control panel and switching the main gpu to the nvidia card is all you have to do The fans are somewhat loud while gaming, but with a headset on it is not noticeable whatsoever. Other than that, the screen is responsive and produces a great image. The keyboard has an amazing feel and the backlighting has a very customizable engine. Games run at a very smooth framerate because of the higher-end specifications for this price. With the student discount, the price is pretty much the best I've seen anywhere. Overall, I am very pleased with the laptop I bought!

Great laptop that can fulfill both your gaming needs as well as portability. There are also different modes for per your needs like normal mode, performance mode, meeting mode etc. I mainly use this laptop to play high end games and it works very good for me. The only reason i took off one star is that after one of the updates the screen on the laptop wouldn't turn on. I had to revert the update via connecting an external screen via HDMI for the screen to turn on again. Also when I was checking out the display model in store, the performance time was very slow. I am just hoping that this was because of a low performance setting set. I would hate to see the performance go down after a year even with an SSD in the laptop.

I actually don’t play games on pc, but what interested me about this computer was the specs. My previous computer was a 2010 macbook pro. That macbook is still up and running (just a little slow for today’s standards, also I’m experiencing usb 3 for the first time and dang that thing is fast! There’s even 3.1 now! Been so deprived…). I liked how the older macbooks could be upgraded, so I was able to max out the memory and change the hdd to a ssd, and I feel that’s part of why the computer lasted so long. From what I understand, now when you purchase a mac you pretty much have to build it the way you want (things like memory, storage space, and of course processor), so that’s what got me interested in windows again. I was looking around and was surprised for the price you pay for a pretty outstanding machine. I mainly use my computers for things like my music / video library, video editing here and there, and the office stuff, so besides video editing software, nothing really too intense. I just used iMovie on my old computer and that’s where I noticed the most significant slowdown. I installed power director 16 and played with it a little so I feel confident that this computer does exactly what I need to do. I also installed steam hahaha Oh yeah one last thing~ If you’re thinking about switching from mac to windows and have several external drives in mac format you may want to look into paragon software. It basically allows your system to read and write to mac formatted drives. I’m not sure if there are any cons to it, but it saved me from having to transfer all my files and from reformatting.

I bought this laptop just over a month ago.. my use for this Laptop is Gaming and mainly performance to run multiple program's at once. So far it is standing out well, the design is impressive and its portable to carry where you travel. Also, the screen has really impressive display along with colorful keyboard The downside I can see is sometimes it hang's and crashes (Blue Screen), also camera had some issues(had to update driver to fix the problem), after windows update I got green screen for the all the videos play in browser or App, audio is too low. Other than that I think this is the to go laptop if some one is looking for high performance and portable light weight Laptop.

I actually LOVE this laptop, I've had it for a day. The performance of this laptop is amazing, I'm using it for just an every day computer(with the rare gaming), but I love having performance so I go with gaming laptops. It handles games very nicely (my friend used it for a bit last night and hates me now, cause she games alot and fell in love with the performance). Only reason i'm not giving it a 5 star is the screen. Its not very bright when you're in a bright room or daylight(yes I did play with the display settings trying each mode to see if the screen was better and it didnt help). I work at a car dealership, sit next to windows and lots of lights. Unfortunately the screen is just not bright enough. I would 100% recommend this to someone who isnt going to be using it in a bright office setting or outside. (I thought the screen was GREAT sitting at home last night, but again, once I'm in a bright area, the screen is just a little to dull and I have to squint)

This laptop is perfect. From dragon center 2.0 allowing me to customize the laptop the stronger performance of the I7 8th gen coupled with the GTX 1060 allows for seamless gaming and everyday task. When trinity cooling kicks in the fans can be loud but not annoying loud of disrupting your game. The GS63 is a lot more power than it would seem on the outside especially as thin and light weight it is.

I've had my GS63 Stealth for more than a month now and am very pleased with my purchase. The laptop is light enough to carry around but has all the power you need when it comes to gaming or editing videos. I think the top vent above the keyboard is a huge deal for people using the laptop on their lap or in their bed. It helps a lot with the airflow and brings the temperature down. The cooler boost mode provides all the cooling you need for a prolonged gaming session (you will need headphones to cover up the sound of the fans). In normal use, the fans are very quiet. I've edited videos, played video games, watched Netflix all without a problem.

I waited a bit to review this computer for at least a month, so as to get a good feel on how this notebook would perform over time. So first off, I got a great deal because of an open-missing box, so naturally I was pretty happy about that. Looking at the specs, this is a nice machine for gaming. Great i7 processor, with 16 GB RAM, more than enough for just about any games you will be playing. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. 256 SSD, and 1TB spinner drive for storage. This is where you will need to make your first upgrade. The 256 GB SSD is great for the OS to sit on, as well as some smaller programs, browsers etc. Where you are going to want to install games and larger files is on the 1TB storage drive. The only problem being, MSI went cheap on that drive. It’s only a 5400rpm spinner drive. So this is really unacceptable for a gaming machine. Luckily SSDs are fairly reasonable, and since the OS does not reside on this drive, it’s just a matter of pulling the existing drive out and replacing it with an SSD. That took me about 20 minutes. Another thing to be aware of, make sure that 16 GB of RAM is going to be adequate for your needs. This machine is expandable to 32 GB, but upgrading it is not an easy process. Unlike other MSI laptops I have owned, the RAM is located on the underside of the motherboard, so that means you have to remove the motherboard to access the RAM. Not an impossible task, but it is a little involved. If you are comfortable with doing upgrades, you should not have a problem with any of this. Most people should be fine with the installed 16 GB RAM. Also another as another note; the 256 GB SSD is also located under the motherboard. I think because of the thinness of this laptop, MSI had to be creative with space. Overall this is a nice computer. Very fast, heat does not seem to be an issue. I know we refer to these as laptop machines, but unless you want to have a very warm lap, you will need to use a desk. The Steel Series keyboards feel great. Only compliant I have there is I have to hit the space bar firmly, or it will not work. That might be just this particular machine. The screen is nice and bright, good colors, and pretty good viewing angles. It has a matte, non-touch screen, so reflections are not an issue, which is great for gaming. I know many people have said in reviews that this is a fingerprint magnet, and it is. I have never owned a black metal laptop that wasn’t a fingerprint magnet. It’s something to be expected. Just keep a microfiber cloth around, and wipe if off from time to time. Overall I would recommend this machine. At its current listing of $1359, it’s a pretty good deal. Keep in mind, you will really need to spend about $120 for a 1TB SSD for a much needed upgrade

After an exhaustive search on gaming laptops this MSI came highly rated and recommended. It did not disappoint. It looks cool, with the polished metal look and the LED keyboard. The windows 10 setup was a breeze. The 8th gen i7 coupled with the sufficient RAM and SSD makes game play run smooth. The GTX 1060 GPU makes it look smooth, even with the use of multiple monitors.
