This computer is a drastic improvement from my previous model (Lenovo Y500) It is fast, responsive, and when playing games the computer doesn't get unbearably hot. The fan is a little loud but that's to be expected with a gaming computer. The battery life is really good on it as well, doing typical browsing and other generic work the battery life estimates at roughly 6 hours. The one thing that I have noticed is sometimes bringing my computer out of sleep mode the screen does not respond. However, other than that the computer is great and I would recommend it to everyone looking for a fast, lightweight, capable machine.

Bought this laptop 8 hours ago, sense then I managed to update everything and get the latest version of Windows and install steam with a few games and doesn't disappoint. Sure it's with the 1060 and 1070 gpu would be better but for 1500 I was at an excellent point to performance ratio. I scored in firestone a bit over 12k which I was surprised and played modern triple a games fatherly well considering. I was torn between this model and the Asus they had available. Sense I've built for the past few gens with msi hardware and ease of use obtaining ultilies and drivers and never had much issues, as well as seen it was more popular I sided with msi . The down side ,the Asus had a 120hz IPS panel whereas the msi is only 60. Overall it'll do just fine for what I'm looking to get out of it but always keep in mind it's not a custom tower so just keep that in consideration that they are similar but not always the same and given that your packing hardware into small area heat is always going to be an issue.

It's been one month now I am using this laptop for my study purpose. This laptop is the beast you need for deep learning. The codes that used to take 7-8 hrs in my old laptop take only 15 mins with this one. No heating problem. Low weight to make it portable. Excellent edgy design to add to your personality. Totally recommend this to all.

As Streamer and YouTuber, I love this laptop, is perfect when I'm playing a random video game and streaming at Twitch or YouTube at the same time. The personalization on the keyboard has multiple functions that you can spend hours (I still can't make 1 that's better than the disco mode). I had tested the power of this laptop with the games I have like "We Happy Few" or "CS:GO" on the best graphics possible and I hadn't experience lag. The price is fair with the quality it gives. I can carry it around easily on my backpack for school purposes or just for gaming at a friend house. It works perfectly with Streamlabs OBS, so I'm happy with that. The only thing I hate is that the material is...unclean I guess... when is new you can't see anything out of normal but with the time with just putting a finger you can tell that someone touches it... I hadn't seen that it happens on this new model but is the same material than the previous one that I see that happens very often.

I was looking to find a more portable version of my desktop I build a few years ago. The graphics are beautiful and runs every games I play smoothly. The fan can get a bit loud when installing but any computer gets hot when its working hard. The only problem is now my wife wants one and the price is a bit too steep to pay twice.

Seems to get hot, and the updating of RAM was somewhat difficult (had to use a youtube video). The speakers are not very loud at all, that is my main complaint. It is compact and thin for a 32GB RAM (originally only 16GB). Lightweight compared to other laptops in its class.

I bought this laptop to be a battle station away from my battle station. I need this for school, work and play. I'm on the go a LOT, so after looking at specs and the reviews I decided to buy this bad boy. PROS: This laptop is aesthetically appealing. I love it's slender look, and the RBG keyboard is 10/10. The steel series keyboard is also lovely for a laptop. It's fast. Programs open up as intended, and I can multitask fluidly. -Not much bloatware! -The screen is great with true colors when watching movies or gaming. -Speakers aren't a bad quality on their own. CONS: Right away I had issues with installing updates with drivers for both the CPU and GPU. Once I updated the GPU there was a sound issue to where the driver for sound was deleted and basically undetectable from my laptop. After a couple of hours from Google Search sounds work now! -I'm not a fan of the track pad at all. It has a tendency to zoom in and out unwarranted, so even simple web browsing isn't so great with it. -The power button is in an obscure spot IMO. When I try to move it towards me or off of my lap to set down, I have a tendency to hit it, or touch it. -It DOES indeed get hot, but I've only noticed it with one specific game. I've played Rocket League, Civ 5 & 6, and The Witcher 3 so far on this thing. Only Witcher 3 was the one that made it uncomfortably hot. I'm trying some new balanced performance settings (setting battery and cpu to 60%) to see if it helps with the heat. I'll defintiely update the review after trying some FPS games. So far it's a mixed experience for me. I was honestly debating on this and the ASUS ROG. For a work horse laptop and using it for work tasks like Adobe Photoshop, or for online classes and work, this laptop is great and I would recommend it, but for longtime gaming on the go, I'm pretty mixed on it.

So I am a student and I needed a new laptop for school (my old macbook was finally beginning to show its age). The msi is perfect for everything that I throw at it. I stream, use Photoshop and audio software, and play pretty intensive games. The msi has met all those tasks admirably and I am happy to say that I am super satisfied with the product. Nonetheless, I will go over some pros and cons as this isn't the perfect product. Pros: -Great processing power with a powerful GPU -Amazing keyboard from Steelseries with rgb lighting -Ports, ports, and more ports (seriously, this laptop has so many ports) -The overall build quality is pretty nice with a nice brushed aluminum finish Cons -The trackpad is not the best ( it struggles to track multifinger gestures) -The screen is not that bright and the color accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. I recommend getting an external monitor if you're doing serious photoshop or video editting Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and although there were cons, I felt that I could honestly look over them for the most part.

I had one weird issue with this laptop which is that it was causing my router to crash every time I would try to go on the internet with it when I first got it, but I think the problem had something to do with our archaic router that is overdue for an upgrade. It happened 3 times after which I called customer service. The agent was super friendly and helpful. He recommended I try it on another network so I took the laptop to my mom’s where the internet connection is better and it came online instantly (for the first time) and then I never had that problem with it again, even on our own network...strange, to say the least. The computer is super fast and for its specs very affordably priced. I originally wanted to get a MacBook Pro because I prefer Mac over Windows and I love the quality display of an Apple screen, but this came in at half the price of a MacBook with similar specs and I love all the ports!! It is fairly lightweight for it’s size, too which is another reason I picked this laptop over others like it. Overall, very happy with it!

This is my first gaming laptop, bought it for the dual purpose of both work and games. For that purpose it is really very mobile, much lighter than my earlier consumer laptop. Screen resolution is too good. 4k experience was wonderful. The steelseries backlit for the keyboard is cool and the keyboard's keys are very well responsive and are comfortable. Sound is good. processing is quick and things run pretty fast for both games and also for running models in pytorch.

Bought this because I have a MSI desktop and I am so pleased this is a very fast laptop - not too heavy and great for our business - Extremely impressed with the performance and quality of this laptop. It is steel construction which is great for our business travels! Thank you MSI for another great product!

I was pretty surprised at how well built this MSI laptop is. The laptop is pretty thin compared to most other gaming laptops. I have never had any heating issues when running any graphic intensive games etc. Overall i'm pretty happy with the purchase. Desktop graphics in a super portable laptop. One of the thing sI like the most is that it has all the ports that I need for work too (ethernet, HDMI etc.) so i don't need to carry a bunch of connectors. If you plan on gaming make sure you have the power cord plugged in.

I should start by saying what I was looking for when I got this laptop. A reliable, good-looking, and compact but powerful computer that could handle modern games smoothly. I'm not the type to push frame rates to the highest imaginable numbers but I can appreciate running a demanding program at its highest settings with no problems and i'm very picky when it comes to these purchases. I saw good value in this laptop and many of my expectations have been exceeded. Needless to say, this laptop cuts through everyday tasks like web surfing quickly and quietly. As for gaming, I feel the days of needing a desktop or a "portable" monster of a notebook are well challenged by laptops like this one. To fit those powerful components in such a thin & light package is quite a feat but comes with some understandable drawbacks. With heavy loads, this thing can get a bit noisy in order to keep temperatures under control. But conservative settings keep it extremely quite and can still handle things quite nicely (as long as you're okay with 30-60 FPS). The keyboard is gorgeous, very customizable, and feels good. It's probably one of my favorite features if i'm honest. The last thing I should mention is that the touch pad, simply put, is not the greatest when it comes to clicking but I imagine many people have BT mouse that should easily compensate. I could go on but in summary, this is a great laptop for anyone looking for an efficient beautiful design and a lot of power.

This laptop is darn sweet. However the internal hard drives are terrible. I highly recommend upgrading the 1tb hard drive to a SSD drive. It will make your life better. Everything else about this laptop is great. Sure it gets loud if you're gaming heavily but why would you expect it not to? Mouse is alright. I actually love the feel of the keyboard. I wish it had a mute button for the speakers not just a up and down. Its close to perfect but yeah. So it gets a 4 star review.

I purchased two of these one for me and one my wife. So far they are performing greater than expected. The keyboard is fun to mess around with! I have played various games on High / Ultra at 60 FPS and had no performance issues at all. It was a nice upgrade from my old 870m Nvidia card.

HI, I bought this laptop two weeks ago and I love it, it's light and thin and the battery life lasts all day. It runs autocad and sketchup + vray very well. Also the design is sleek and comfortable; and the on-line games run smoothly. Great buy, would definitely recommend. P.D Disco mode on!

I was looking for a portable yet powerful machine. And this machine is a Perfect match. It is a Gaming Laptop which has a good battery backup. I am a programmer and have some graphics intensive task going on and this machine just nails it. highly recommended for programmers.

A gaming laptop that looks as good as it performs. I was told of MSI though a friend who bought one. Its easily the best performing laptop I've bought new. The general lack of bloatware made getting the best out of it a much faster experience. The screen is crisp and the keyboard is stunning, (even if the Windows key is on the wrong side for some reason.) The fans do make noise when going full out, but I use a louder lap fan anyway and I would rather have to turn the volume up slightly than have a panini press on my lap. I do have some minor quibbles, the Windows key being on the right side, right clicking takes a bit of effort, finding the power cord's hole is difficult without looking at the side as there are so many plugs. Though with that last one I'd rather have an embarrassment of riches than be able to easily plug the power cord in but nothing else. All my complaints are minor. Well worth my money.
