This powerful computer is even better than I expected it to be. I didn't purchase it specifically for gaming. I purchased it because it had all the powerful specs I was looking for and is VR ready for a great price point. This laptop does not disappoint. First of all, it's beautiful. The build quality is flawless. The metal steelseries keyboard is very sturdy and a dream to type on. The huge 17 inch screen is bright and clear. Additionally, there is a very thoughtful suite of software, called MSI True Color, that allows very specific granular tweaking of the color and graphics settings. You can truly save multiple viewing profiles and even change the visual landscape depending on what you are doing whether it be gaming, movie watching, or office work etc. Even the LED keyboard has many tweakable settings from the actual color scheme to how the colors move around on the keyboard. You can even make it look as if it's alive and breathing. A huge added plus is that the laptop also has Killer Ethernet with Killer Shield. Killer Shield is basically a best in class transformer that is able to protect Killer Gigabit Ethernet Controllers from unwanted electrical variances while at the same time providing an impressive level of surge protection both protecting performance and your machine. The coupling of the 128 GB SSD with the 7200 RPM 1TB drive makes this a perfect storage speed demon. Start up time and restarts are blazingly fast. This is a powerful laptop and not the kind you will tote around without being plugged in thinking you are going to get 8 hours of battery life. That's not what this was made for. If you will have it plugged in most of the time and are ok with getting 3-4 hours when on battery only then you have the proper expectation for this machine. And if you do plan on doing gaming there is even customization of the cooling fan settings controlling speed and more. This laptop is the perfect balance of power, features, and value.

I love the lighted keyboard. Multiple color choices are available. As far as the pc itself, it has all the power one would want to challenge other gamers in any game on the market. The quality of the build is excellent. I bought this system to create and edit videos and could not be happier. It has the power and speed I wanted.

I have had this computer for about a month so far and seem to find something I like more about it every time I use it. Super fast reboot, the graphics card seems to handle anything I throw at it. For a "middle of the road " gaming computer this thing is a beast. Built well, I wasn't sure I would like the 17" screen as some people complained about screen flex when you open and close it. I don't see the problem. However I do treat it like a computer and not a 'toy'. Overall I think this computer will make anyone happy who want's to spend around $1200.00

The 3D CAD computer programs require hefty computing power - fast CPU and lots of RAM. More importantly, the video card is often the hardware that determines whether or not the computer can run CAD. Very pleased to report that this MSI notebook (laptop) manages 3D CAD better than my desktop box computer.

My laptops charging cable has now sparked and stopped working. I am holding the laptop to the base by rubber bands. The top monitor has completely detached from the bottom side because of how weak the laptop is. The sound was having issues over time. That I couldn't explain. I spent 1300$ on this at the time. I've only had this laptop one year and 2 weeks. The wifi no longer connects to anything farther away than 5 feet. Gaming wise its okay. Nothing ground breaking but it does work. Though it gets hot real easy. I expected more for 1300$

Great looking laptop. Love the color keyboard it really draws your attention when you see it in person. Not that heavy (6lbs) for a 17in laptop. Feels balanced and well built. Overwatch run pretty smoothly on high settings. Gets a little hot but that is like all gaming laptops. Takes about 7 to 10 seconds to boot up. Con; Comes with all these unless software. Norton, candy crush, mind craft etc... but you cant remove it easily. Also, battery life is "OK" about 2-3 hours normal usage (web browser, video watching etc). Dont try to play intensive games on the battery.. Overall would recommend this laptop for anyone looking for a gaming laptop.

Ok so first off this computer is pretty dang fast it can run pretty much anything, and also have a really wireless card built in and the speakers are pretty good to, and as for cons the screen is kinda dull and the internal mic sucks so you will definitely want a headset and for fps wise in games i play minecraft a lot so i get 100 - 200 +fps in game and other games all stay over 60 including games like Gta5 and Fallout all in all the computer is pretty nice but next time i would get a higher up msi and the price could be just a bit cheaper with less bloatware and yes there's alot of it so be prepared to remove it when you first get this laptop

I purchased the MSI to replace my ASUS, it was a great fit! Fast and looks great. Works a lot better than my old computer. I am running Photoshop and Movie maker on it with no trouble. Great computer!

This is a pretty good laptop. I had some problems logging in but I think that is due to this laptop and my computer talking on my home network. Battery doesn't last long though. I use it for 3D imaging. It is kinda heavy

If you're thinking about buying this, do it! It's fast, and the cooler boost is great. The only thing I dont like is the battery life but you scarifice that for performance.

This laptop can run almost any game on epic. I even out perform some of my friends gaming desktop. I truly recommend it!

I bought this so i could do all my school work mainly solidworks, altium, AutoCAD and etc. It runs very smooth and no lag. Runs games very smoothly. The only problem i have with this computer is the battery life. A full charge will only last me 2 hours even running it on a battery saver performance... But overall i think it's a nice computer

Very satisfied with the performance,I did however have to delete some (bloatware). This is a great setup,I tested Tom Clancy the division and got a solid 60 fps on high settings,and on ultra it dipped to the 40's.

went from one of the asus rog models that was really nice but died after 5 years - this was a good replacement, more sleek but maybe a little less rugged. nonetheless very nice, metal body, just gets hot and fans are loud... but think it can keep up well enough that it's not overheating the insides. anyway, a good buy :D

I can't say enough about this laptop, but I'll give it a go: I love it! It is a MONSTER, Awesome keyboard that's better than the Skittles Rainbow, TASTE THE RAINBOW!!!!! I would recommend this to a friend, but than he would have the same laptop as me, so therefore he'd be taking taking away some of my uniqueness, SO NO!

Really fast, I can run all the latest game The speakers are just ok.

I got this as a gift for my boyfriend who is a huge gamer and he loves it. The graphics are great and so is the speed. He also uses it for work so it is all around a great lap top. Only thing that I don't like is how loud the fans can get but I understand that the purpose is to keep the lap top cool so it's not that big of a deal.

Honestly, I got this after doing looking at a bunch of reviews. I've been without a gaming laptop for a good 3 years now and really wanted something mobile again. I have to say though, this MSI gaming laptop is amazing. It runs every game I've played on the highest settings with ease and no lag. It took a little adjusting after setting up a shortcut to the harddrive, since I've been used to solid state drives. It is a little hefty; but still manages to feel lighter and better to carry than other gaming laptops my friends have. The MSI Dragon Center and Killer Control Center are super easy to use and understand with little to no learning curve. The ease of access to the controls the majority of its inner workings is great and it just feels all around Amazing! In addition, the wider touch pad will need some getting used to for some people, as it does have you put your wrist to rest on the laptop itself more than I've noticed with some other gaming laptops. All around, is say you can't go wrong with this product.

It has a very short battery life needs another fan.Because it doen't run fast enough causing it to over heat. On the plus side color is great. Charges quickly,internet connection good,ton of memory. Good computer but has flaws.
