Seemed ok until we realized the hdmi port does not
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.my son bought this to use in the computer he assembled. The assembly went well and everything seemed in order. Then he tried to connect some VR goggles to the computer and found that the home port isn't being recognized. We troubleshoot, even tried a different device and cable (a second monitor) to no avail. These devices work with no issue on a laptop so its not the devices or the cable. Clearly an issue with the motherboard. So now what? Does this mean having to take the computer apart?! Just very disappointed. Also efforts to reach best buy customer service were an exercise in frustration. Never again.

MSI Knocks It Out of The Park!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I built my first gaming PC and I couldn't have done it without the ease of using the MSI B450 Tomahawk as my motherboard. When I found the right processor for my build, a Ryzen 5 2600x, I needed to find the perfect motherboard to complement that component. Building on a budget, I was looking at MSI's motherboards and really wanted something that came ready for Ryzen's 2nd generation processors so I wouldn't have to worry about flashing the BIOS. The MSI B450 delivered on that promise and it was pretty much plug and play from there installing all my components on this board. I also wanted a motherboard that could handle DDR4 memory at 3000MHz. Again, not a problem with this motherboard. Since it also supports up to 64GB, it will still be able to grow with me as I upgrade this rig. These are even built with overclocking in mind, though that is something I haven't done yet. It's really built for people who want to build mid to high-end gaming rigs and they thought of everything a gamer would want. Cosmetic wise, this piece is beautiful. The gun metal colors around the motherboard's branding is a beautiful touch, there are some RGB lights built in to light up your case, and it just looks amazing when paired with everything else. To me, this is a budget board that does far beyond what other more expensive boards will do for you and for that I'm grateful that I was able to find this board and make my first gaming rig a reality.

Poor product and worse customer service from manuf
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this board because msi said it would be compatible with the new ryzen 3000 series. After several attempts to get it to post with a 3700x had to call msi customer support. Worst service ever. The first tech told me they would not work with it even though they had a bios update for the board. Would not let me speak to anyone else. Told me to call back and hopefully someone different would answer. 3 calls later I got someone different who understood it was supposed to work but couldn't even figure it out his self. Stay away from msi!!!!!

Defective unit
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Booted up the MOBO with all new parts, PSU worked fine, but the motherboard wouldn’t boot. Find a better manufacturer than msi.

Not good for future proofing
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to go with the new ryzen CPUs. the board was one of many that were supposed to work. I tried for days to post to BIOS and was worried something else was the problem. I eventually returned this board and bought the 450 gaming plus and posted on my first try with all the same components. Both boards were MSI but I would stay away from this one.

Endless Problems Ryzen 3600
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many others BSoD errors and other problems that never seem to end and only get worse everytime you attempt to fix one. Not worth the headache to me.

Great B450 Motherboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the most recommended motherboards for Ryzen and it's easy to see why. One of the reasons for this is the ability to flash the BIOS using a USB drive which was required for the Ryzen 3000 series. Mine, however, was already Ryzen 3000 ready which meant I could just drop the CPU in and boot up. I would still recommend updating the BIOS though as AMD is always tinkering with settings improving performance and stability. I have Micron E-Die 3000CL15 and I was able to use the included XMP profile with no issues. The BIOS is nicely laid out and has all the features you would expect. The RGB LEDs are a nice little addition and have a bunch of different settings you can change using MysticLight. This board also has good VRM and good heatsinks for the VRM. Some motherboards just slap a lump of aluminum on the VRM and call it good but the Tomahawk has a good amount of fins that increase the surface area. It also doesn't have any silly plastic blocking airflow. The fan headers are in convenient and logical spots. Rear panel USB-C is a nice touch. The reinforced PCI-e slot is also nice to have. I really like the military look of this board as well. Overall, this is a really nice board at an affordable price.

The best idea i've ever had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly I've never built a gaming PC or anything and I remember when I was younger knowing MSI was top of the class all the youtubers had it in their systems people had the merch and even I saw it in stores or inside other PC's. So this is how I started first off I got a MSI monitor and ohh my lord it was so beautiful the curved 27" I recommend very well to saticfy youre inner gamer. The RGB is so beautiful I love how it has all the parts I need its a very slick and cool design not cheap at all for this price is good but for the quality was even better my dear lord this motherboard is so good it even takes Ryzen 2600x and I'm just in love with the brand in general

Great board, great price, looks great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recognized my Ryzen 5 2600x and my RAM (g.skill Trident Z 3200mhz 2x8gb) with no issues right out of the box. Ram was able to run at 3200mhz with XMP profile. Latest firmware was already installed as well. Love it!

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recently bought this to use in my very first PC build, I have to say, this motherboard paired nicely with every other component I had. Connections are nice and solid, taps for screws are buttery smooth as well.
