This is my first MSI product I've ever bought, and I am very pleased so far. This motherboard is nicely designed with a neutral color scheme that works well with all builds. It also has many different expansion slots and ports, such as USB 3.1 and pump/fan headers located all over. The BIOS is simple and clean. It's fairly easy to understand and use. I've paired this with a Radeon RX 590 and a Ryzen 5 2600. So far everything is working great. If you are looking for a great AM4 Socket motherboard with lots of features and good build quality, I'd say get the MSI Tomahawk for sure!

First, the packaging is really nice as well as the included manual was very easy for locating pin outs and connector location (albeit they're labeled on the board already.) Very clean design and the led is easily programmable using mystic light software. I also had zero issues with getting the RAM to the correct speed. I'd definitely use the board again for future amd builds!

I have had mobo now for 3 days installed and it has performed as expected. Installation was easy and instructions in the included manual is very informative. I can also say it brought my computer experience a little higher now with all the cool features. I am running a Ryzen 7 2700x with 16gigs of ram along with a GTX 1060 6 GB video card. Storage a 250 SSD as the boot drive along with 1 terabit HDD.

After doing some research with content creators, I followed their recommendations and fitted this motherboard to use with the new Ryzen 5 3600. After a bios flash, it has worked flawlessly. I loved the fact that AMD is allowing backwards compatibility of their new processors. Saved a lot of money over the X470 or the X570.

Nice layout. Good features. Ryzen 3000 support out of the box. Statements otherwise would be referring to old versions of this board. Current builds come w updated bios. Bios is easy to update anyway... Even w out COU installed. X570 gives you PCIE4... which no components exist yet, so who cares.

Does not have the bigger bios chip found on the max version. However, mine supported 3rd gen Ryzen out of the box. It has bios flashback allowing you to update the bios without a CPU, if the one you get does not have a newer bios. Runs great with a 3600 and 2070 super.

My experience buying this motherboard was great. It was my first time building a PC so I didn’t want to spend too much on this experiment. It was compatible with my AMD Ryzen 3400G processor, and I was able to build it all up on the same night. One thing to point out is that this motherboard might not be 100% compatible with the 3400G straight out the box but it’s something that can be easily fixed with a BIOS update you install thru USB. This motherboard allows you to do this without installing a temporary CPU by using a BIOS flash button located on the back of the board. Very convenient. So far a good experience!

This motherboard was easy to install and a great addition to my build. I was able to overclock my ryzen 5 3600x to 4.25Ghz out of the box on auto settings. I also bought this board late in the cycle and was able to install the new Ryzen without a BIOS update. Look for the orange Ryzen 3 label for this. I actually found one in store which is great! My only regret is that I did not get the Tomahawk MAX edition which does come with more features. I would love to see Best Buy and other stores embrace PC Building and have more products available. Thanks!

This board has so far been a solid performer without the extras that some of the higher end boards have. It doesn't have Bluetooth, WiFi and the LEDs on it are pretty limited, but if you want solid, dependable performance you can't really do much better that this motherboard. I currently have this paired up with the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and it is faster than my last computer with an I7 8700. The overclocking is easy with a single click, but you can also switch to an advanced mode where every aspect is adjustable if you are comfortable overclocking yourself.

If you're not concerned with extras like PCIE Gen 4, WIFI, optical out audio, the fastest RAM speeds, the extra USB 10gb and all the bell and whistle of the new X570 then this is a very solid motherboard. The VRM is great and with a BIOS update(make sure it has the lastest BIOS) you can even smoothly run a R9 3950X(though I'm not sure how well it would overclock on this motherboard). If you want a little more future proof then the new B550 motherboards are coming out soon, but for the price why wait :).

Best MOBO hands down for the money for AMD users. If you want a high end headphone, this MOBO has HIFI so please do not invest extra money into paying headphones for that. (ex. Steelseries Actis Pro vs Pro w/ Gamedac.) Pc Specs: Ryzen 3700x Vega 56 (upgrading to Radeon 7 16GB with that stimulus check haha) B450 Tomahawk 16GB RGB Corsair Vengeance Pro Externals: Razer Deathadder and Blackwidow Steelseries Actis Pro Acer XFA 144hz 2k Supports all and works amazing, also like how the BIOS looks.

I built my first computer with this and it worked amazing, it was super simple and works great with my other components. Being a semi budget motherboard it even has a m.2 slot but at the cost of 2 sata ports, but you still have 4 to plug other stuff into so its not that much of a loss, in the end its a very solid semi budget board with good features for the price. highly recommend to anyone who wants a solid and affordable b450 mobo with some extra features. INCLUDING RGB

Initially purchased a X570 MSI MPG board elsewhere only to find out it had a non working Network Adapter/WiFi. Seems like others had this issue which i was bummed because I wanted to max out my new Ryzen 3700X. Didn't want to try again and more importantly didn't want to wait so got this and couldn't be happier. Not sure i even notice a difference in performance. Note this and the X570 only support Windows 10 (learned the hard way after no drivers installed).

Luckily I got mine with the “Ryzen 3000 Ready” printed on the box. This motherboard is just fantastic for price. I’m able to OC the CPU to 4.2GHZ using the MSI command center “Game Boost” and OC my G.Skill Samsung b-die memory to 3466MHZ with the timings set to CL 14-14-14-34 in the bios “Try It” option. All running stable with no hiccups. Good VRM. Only downside is no PCIE 4.0 support but that’s to be expected for a B450 motherboard.
