Worked great for a month and then had to warranty it and get a replacement because my computer would keep freezing and it was traced back to a bad motherboard. Worked great up until then

Board only allowed me to run 2 sticks of ram. Made sure to update bios. Emailed MSI and I paid to ship it to them for repair. Received back a couple of weeks later. Installed board and can still o ly use 2 sticks of ram. Same ram make and speed. A total waste of time and money.

MSI has consistently delivered high-quality motherboards tailored for gaming enthusiasts, and the B550 GAMING PLUS is no exception. This ATX motherboard,
equipped with Socket AM4, USB-C Gen 2, and support for AMD Ryzen processors, stands out as a solid choice for gamers looking to build a powerful and future-proof system.
One of the standout features of the B550 GAMING PLUS is its support for PCIe Gen 4.0, providing ultra-fast data transfer speeds for compatible devices such as NVMe SSDs and graphics cards. This capability ensures that your system is ready for the latest high-performance components, offering a level of responsiveness and speed that gamers and content creators crave.
The sleek black design of the motherboard, coupled with subtle red accents, adds a touch of gaming flair without being overly flashy. The layout is well thought out, with easily accessible PCIe slots and DIMM slots, making installation and upgrades a straightforward process. The inclusion of a USB-C Gen 2 port further enhances connectivity options, accommodating the latest peripherals and devices.
MSI's gaming-centric features, including optimized power delivery and cooling solutions, contribute to the motherboard's overall reliability and performance. The extended heatsinks and active cooling fan for the VRM ensure stable power delivery even during intense gaming sessions, promoting longevity and minimizing the risk of thermal throttling.
The BIOS interface is user-friendly, providing both novice and experienced users with ample customization options. Overclocking is made accessible through the BIOS, allowing users to fine-tune their system for optimal performance. The inclusion of Mystic Light RGB support adds a layer of personalization, allowing users to sync their system lighting with other MSI components for a cohesive aesthetic.
On the downside, some users might find the absence of Wi-Fi connectivity a drawback, especially in a market where wireless connectivity is becoming increasingly prevalent. Additionally, while the motherboard supports PCIe Gen 4.0, not all users may have components that can fully capitalize on this feature, potentially making it a bit ahead of its time for some builds.
In conclusion, the MSI B550 GAMING PLUS motherboard is a compelling choice for gamers and PC enthusiasts seeking a reliable and performance-driven foundation for their builds. With PCIe Gen 4.0 support, efficient power delivery, and a user-friendly BIOS interface, it offers a robust platform for current and future hardware. While the lack of Wi-Fi may be a drawback for some, the overall feature set and build quality make the B550 GAMING PLUS a noteworthy contender in the competitive motherboard market.

I purchased this motherboard from Best Buy to be used with a Ryzen 5 3600 XT CPU. This board going in a white case and is looking great in it, Colorwise I got a build based on White/Black with just rainbow RGB going on. This motherboard has a little bit of RGB which is nice, but the video card I have is currently providing most of hte color.
The XPM was easily to activate and my RAM automatically overclock itself. I tweaked my CPU overclock after watching a few videos on youtube and I am not running into any issues yet. My new computer is playing everything in high setting without any issues. I am definitely pleased with this purchase and would recommend this motherboard to anyone looking to build a computer with AMD's Ryzen CPU. MSI has proven to be reliable with their motherboards for AMD CPU and I am glad I went with MSI for this build.

I bought this motherboard to upgrade my CPU to a ryzen 5,000 series processor. So far i have had a very positive experience with this board. It had the correct BIOS on it when i bought the board so my CPU worked out of the box. If you don’t need Wi-Fi on your motherboard then i would highly recommend going with this motherboard so long as you are fine with the older ryzen processors.

This mobo is good but not great. If you need wifi and bluetooth like me, better buy the gaming edge plus. The good side is that, it has usb type-c header which I need! Rgb is a plus. Easy bios set up and update. Using 6 layers with 2 layers are copper!

I upgraded to this from a b450m, I slapped a 3070 and an r7 5800x and the performance is top notch. You do need to do a bios update on this one. It doesn’t have WiFi nor Bluetooth, since I play online wired I really don’t care for the WiFi and for the blue tooth I went and bought a 20 dollar one with good a good massive range, which my last mother board had issued with and wuolah happy gamer. Besides those 2 things the board has everything you need and for a good price. If you game one line wired and if you use wired controllers or key board this is perfect, if you don’t you can easily buy a Bluetooth/wifi usb stick and you’ll be fine. The sound it’s top notch and it comes with optical connection, which is always a plus.

For $150, this B550 motherboard is a steal, esp. when combined with a 3600 CPU. One PCIE4 for a GPU, 6 fan and 2 ARGB headers, 2 M2 slots (1 x PCIE4, 1 x PCIE3), 7 USB ports (2 x USB 3.2, 2 x USB 3, and 4 x USB 2). They also just released a BIOS firmware that should be able to support the new AMD 5000 CPUs. Not bad for $150.
Built for an iRacing/Sim Racing Rig: (get about 120-200fps at high settings, depending on the track or race)

Good motherboard for the price, it’s not enthusiast grade but if you want that micro center or new egg are better bets, for better prices. This is still an amazing board, with good features, for a good price, and performs as you expect a mid level board to do. Great for home gaming and stellar for a first motherboard

Great motherboard with everything you need to build your own PC. The RGB is a plus and adds just a bit of RGB to your overall setup. Great overall value and the product arrived with no issues and in working condition. Updating bios to support Ryzen Vermeer CPUs was fairly easy. I would definitely continue to use this motherboard in my future builds.
