The Nvidia 30 series GPUs are not fully supported for VR yet. I tried using Quest 2, Oculus software stated does not meet minimum spec. When playing Half Life Alyx, the game looked great, but had issues with stuttering and hand tracking (both slight issues). Wasn't smooth like playing on 2080 ti or 1080. This is likely due to driver issues and being new gpus.
The GPU can be overclocked: Dragon Center > User Scenario > pick a mode (I choose Extreme Performance) and click settings symbol to modify. I increased core clock offset by 120 MHZ and VRAM Offset by 100 MHZ, holding steady in Heaven benchmark.
Raider uses Max-P variant and Stealth uses Max-P variant, but they don't include those names anymore. The 3070 laptop is slightly weaker (~100 MHZ and ~600 cores) than Desktop. The 3080 has a bigger difference.
I used mini-display port to display port and hdmi to hdmi to connect 2 QHD monitors, mini-display port supports 144 HZ QHD. HDMI only supports 60 HZ seems like.
Attaching Shadow of Tomb Raider QHD (monitor) and 4k (Lg C9 OLED). Also attaching Desktop I9-10850k with 2080 TI (both overclock) for comparison. Laptop has to dial down the settings to keep at 60 FPS 4k vs the QHD.

This laptop is so aesthetically pleasing and is a huge step up from my Lenovo I got back in 2012 haha
Needed a upgrade badly. I love the RGBs and the fan functions. Plus having a 3070 in it is a plus!
Highly recommend it. Very fast and functional

Excellent laptop, love the design. Only issue I have with this product is the ability to adjust the Core Voltage and Power Limit on the Afterburner. Overall it’s a really well designed and I like the Ultra fast 240 Hz Gaming Display. My second ever laptop purchase and I must say I’m impressed and love it.

I have had this laptop for a year, and it still runs like a dream. I have been able to run every manor game on it, including Skyrim, Destiny 2, and FFXIV. I got it in the middle of the graphics card shortage, and have officially made the change from custom PC to laptop gaming. The only issue I have had was it auto updated to Windows 11, and the SteelSeries Program for the lightup bar and keys no longer works. (Im sure this is an easy fix- with uninstalling SteelSeries, then redownloading.) I have treated it like a baby, and jusg now took the protective sheet off the top. I can easily see this computer earning its price tag, and can see it running this well for at least 2-3 more years.

Was very skeptical at first of purchasing a gaming laptop being that I've only owned desktops. I have to say though that this thing is a powerhouse. Everything Ive played so far looks amazing..... warzone, dark souls III, Valhiem, Sekiro, and a few more run flawlessly. Fans are not bad at all when under pressure, display is perfect (I feel like my warzone game has even gotten better with the ultra fast display) does'nt get real hot. Everything looks good on hardware monitor. Definitley would reccomend to anyone.

Great gaming laptop overall. If you're in the market for a gaming laptop specifically this is a great choice. If you're looking for something that you just want to play games on occasionally but you are going to primarily use it for work or school you may want to look elsewhere.
Pros:
- Can handle everything you throw at it in terms of games and workload. I was able to run Cyberpunk, FIFA, Forza Horizon, ETC without issues and on high settings for most.
- Build quality feels good. It's not a light laptop by any means but things like the hingles, display, etc seem to be well made.
- RGB can sync and is a nice touch.
- Extra m.2 slot to expand storage.
Cons:
- Heavy. Not the heaviest gaming laptop I've owned or even on the market but it's certainly not the kind of thing you would want to lug to school/work every day. Especially with the large charging block.
- Only 1080p on this display. I use an external display so not a huge deal for me but beware if you're looking for 4k or something similar. I guess it helps the refresh rate if you're only playing at 1080p.
- I'm personally not a huge fan of the keyboard or how it feels. I use an external keyboard but when I've had to type on it I found that I was making more errors than usual. The keys are big so I'll give them that.
- Thermals can get high especially during a gaming session if you have the settings cranked. If you plan on playing AAA games with settings up that high I suggest a cooling pad.
All in all it's a decent laptop which worked out great for me when GPU and other prices were so high. I use it pretty similarly to a desktop PC because I don't find it the most portable machine but if you're just using it for gaming it's great. I would suggest an external mouse, keyboard, and monitor at the very least.

This gaming pc has exceeded all my expectations. Not only does it look nice the performance has been amazing. I travel a lot for my company and love gaming on my desktop at home. I needed something I could travel with that I could continue to get similar FPS with. Don’t get me wrong you’re never going to to pull the same on a laptop but I’ve steadily been running over 80-100 in COD warzone. My only complaint right now would be how loud it gets. I have never owned a gaming pc so I cannot speak on what’s normal. From most reviews I’ve read this one is pretty much what you should expect. It does get hot so I would recommend getting a fan pad that sits under the pc if you plan to run it hours on end. When I’m not traveling I run it day and night non stop mining for Bitcoin. Using NiceHash it seems to pull in around $7-8 a day. Should pay itself off in a year or so.

It is a very excellent laptop. I love the design and the quality. I have had it for a few weeks and I am enjoying it. As a data scientist, I use it mainly for my day-to-day coding (GPU). Also, I like the camera and the ability to change the background and noise cancellation on the microphone/speaker while in meetings.
pros:
High quality design with RGB keyboard and side light.
Top-of-the-line GPU (RTX 30 series)
Have everything you may desire in a hybrid of gaming and advanced coding laptop.
Lots of ram to do multiple work at the same time.
Cons:
I wish the configuration part for both the RGB lights and the performance was more user-friendly.
Also, the most annoying part is the closeness of the up arrow to the Shift/Enter keys. Many times when I want to press shift, I mistakenly press the up key.
I wish it was Ryzen as it is more powerful and less energy consuming.

I have bought a lot of things from Best Buy, including a lot of laptops over the years and I am terrible about leaving reviews. I felt compelled to leave a review for this laptop. I have only had it for about 5 days, so knock on wood, the performance keeps up, but I love this laptop. It handles gaming (I would say I am a moderate gamer), my work, and video editing great! It looks and feels amazing. I am not sure what else to say, but if you are in doubt, I would encourage you to go for it and give this laptop a try. It is pricey, but given its stats, it is the best option I have found in this price range. If you want something better, from what I found, you would have to jump to the 3k$ to 4k$ price range, so at around 2k$, this seems like almost a bargain.

This is my first gaming laptop so my opinion isn't the best for specs. However, It is a beautiful laptop. As a console player making the conversion to PC gaming is quite the feat but this laptop makes it so I can do that a little bit easier.
Pros: It is lightning fast, Beautiful display, and amazing specs for the all around fair price.
Cons: Fan noise while gaming (however this is my first hardcore gaming laptop so I have no reference if this is normal or lower than others), The heat of this unit is averaging 85-90 with adjusted power settings recommended for overheating control).
All in all, I am VERY happy with my purchase!!! This makes me a very big MSI fan.

Great gaming laptop! The GeForce RTX 3070 definitely gives it a push into the higher-end category for sure. No coil whine noises in any mode, the LED lightbar is actually very cool looking. 32GB of RAM standard definitely gives you plenty to do graphic design + video editing, so this is a great creator's laptop as well. Cooling solutions work really well so the laptop doesn't get too hot.
The only issue (and it's kind of my fault), is that I wanted to upgrade to add an additional NVME SSD. The back panel has a "factory" sticker on it that MSI says doesn't actually void the warranty, so it's kind of odd that it is even there. The back panel is insanely difficult to remove. Once I got it off after taking out all the screws and using some plastic prying tools, the SSD install was super easy--kudos to MSI.
Unfortunately, trying to get the plastic case back on did not go well. Just about all of the plastic tabs broke off trying to get this thing back on--not kidding, ALL of them, the ones that hook in by the lightbar. Who came up with this insane design?! I have NEVER encountered this kind of difficulty with the back panel of a laptop before.
I got all the little plastic chips out of the computer thankfully, but now the back case is a bit floppy because, well, there are no tabs holding it in on the lightbar side. I reached out to MSI Support and they're sending me a new back panel--FOR $87!!! What can I say? It's my fault I guess.. but it still stings.
If you don't want to upgrade anything on the laptop and don't intend on taking off the back panel to upgrade, you'll love this thing. If you want to add an NVME, you might be looking at an $87 do-over.

I’ve had this laptop for about 3 years, and I can without a doubt vouch for this product. I have put it through the most demanding video games with the the highest setting and have had 0 problems. I’ve also deployed with it and put it through some rough environments and it inexplicably has been able to survive. Although a little on the pricey side it is worth every penny. If you’re going to buy a gaming laptop, at might as well go for the best.

This laptop has run all my games from cyberpunk to Call Of Duty and beyond on high settings on all of them with no crashes. The only bad things I have to say about this laptop is that it’s battery life is trash, and it gets VERY HOT. I play about 2-4 hours a session and have to have this thing on a cooling pad. I lower the settings to not have to worry about overheating, but no one wants to do that. Otherwise, a very satisfying experience.

I think it's the best in-store gaming Laptop Best Buy carries. this has plenty of storage and has the Awesome 3070 GPU. In this unit, you can switch between the 3070 discreet and the 630 intel from the CPU so it doesn't drain the huge battery when not gaming, this will be great for both worlds gaming and work, and with the 32GB of memory the Intel i7 10750H CPU its a great system for all users.

Great laptop for 1080p/1440p gaming. Runs every game I throw at it with 100+ fps at 1440p (Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Monster Hunter World, Shadow of the Tomb Raider to name a few). Fans don't run as loud as other gaming laptops I've tried with similar specs unless the Cooler Boost turns on but I've only had temperatures go high enough to activate once. Using it with a laptop cooler at a slightly elevated angle gives it plenty of airflow to keep it cool with default fan speeds.
This model is a higher wattage GPU (115w) and runs faster than some of the lower end 3080 models from other companies that cost significantly more.
I'm coming from a 2080 max-q laptop and it's been worth every penny. This one really hit the sweet spot for 1440p gaming.

This is the most high-end PC I've ever purchased, and it was well worth it. This thing runs like a dream, with exceptional performance controls within the MSI Dragon Center app (where you can set Ultimate Performance, Balanced, Silent, and Custom presets so your fans are going nuts when you're just checking email). The software bundled isn't excessive or bloated, and adds value. The hardware is lightweight (for a gaming laptop) and nice-looking, has great aesthetic customisations for the bar on the front and for the keys, and even with all the RAM and SSD included, it's still expandable beyond that. I play a lot of Apex Legends and it runs 165+ FPS on max settings.
