So far I have had this laptop for a week. I am just learning about many of the features. I know gaming laptops run hot so I am still awaiting my cooling pad for it so I will not push it to the limits until then. I have downloaded Starwars Fallen Order, and it seems to run great and looks awesome on the screen. I will order a gaming monitor once I pay off the laptop in a couple of months. The fans do not seem loud to me but once you get into some action in the game they kick in a it's a little loud but nothing I would call annoying. Now if you turn on cooler boost then it's like a jet engine blasting hot air out the sides. If you use gaming headphones then I don't see the problem. Rather know my CPU/GPU is not burning up. It loads apps quickly and is just visually pleasing. I plan on using it mostly for school (cybersecurity classes) and some gaming like Call of Duty and Star Wars-type games. I also have an Oculus 2 VR headset that I have not used with it yet but plan on it. Another reason why I got the laptop to begin with. So far I would absolutely recommend this laptop and I am very happy with my purchase.

Great So Far

I bought this laptop as I prepare to travel for work. So far the laptop is doing great and capable of playing everything I have tried. I am a bit disappointed that so far none of the games I play can even reach 240 FPS at 1080p but it is doing a good job. I wish they would include stickers just in the manual as them being on the laptop are oddly frustrating for me. This is not a technical issue though so 5 stars it is.
Pros:
Powerful Performance
Handles the games I play well (Guildwars 2, Escape from Tarkov, Valheim, and Legion Gold)
Turbo mode drops temps drastically and is good at annoying my wife
Cons:
Battery life is understandably low
Lighting on Keyboard is not the best

Nice computer

MSI makes a nice computer with great performance. Mine handles every game I owe and flawless results. The lighted key board is better for working and playing in dark the numbers and letters on the keys are bigger than most laptops. I have 2 Alienware laptops and a Razor. I can see this key board the best. Otherwise, the performance is great, but in day-to-day use I don’t see a change with 240 Hz display or a gain with the 3070-video card. Both my Alienware computers perform at the same level although they are several years older in one case. The MSI was the cheapest of the bunch and a value for the money. I don’t like the power connection it’s like a large USB port, should be something more standard. The MSI is my daily use computer, handles all video and photo editing needs along with gaming. Cyberpunk, Outriders no problem with settings on max. The computer is a hard plastic so doesn’t feel as nice as the Razor. If you’re looking for a top performance with a lot of capability look no farther for the money.

MSI has really stepped up with their laptops the last few years. This series with the latest 30 series RTX cards are unstoppable. I definitely recommend grabbing one while they are in stock. They are getting sold out as soon as they are on the shelves.

Consider me stunned. After using a basic notebook with an older Nvidia MX150 for a GPU, and an 8th gen i5, this thing takes my computer usage to a whole new level.
To start, the screen is absolutely fantastic. I didn't realize just how awful the viewing angles were on my old computer until I bought this, because it looks so good. Looking at the screen from any angle delivers quality and clarity, without colors warping, it stays sharp and colorful. Not to mention the buttery smooth 240hz display. I cannot recommend this enough, everything just feels so much faster, games look so much better, it's fantastic.
Gaming is wonderful as you can imagine, this thing handles anything I throw at it. Forza Horizon 4 cranked to the maximum settings and I'm still getting buttery smooth 120fps. Minecraft with volumetric lighting shaders on extreme settings and nearly maxed out, still getting consistent 120fps. Cities Skylines and Subnautica? Max settings, no stutters 120fps+, it's incredible. SteamVR performance test proved that this machine is more than capable of extremely high quality VR gaming. Although one thing I will mention is that without the fan on maximum settings (cooler boost), the part of the laptop body just above the keyboard gets too hot to touch, and even with the fans on maximum settings, if an intensive game is running it still runs decently hot, and the fans on max settings are LOUD, although not too many games actually require them to be pushed that hard, I just choose to have them on full blast so I can rest assured the PC is not getting burned to death. I don't have a huge library of games on PC as this is my first computer actually capable of games, but I'm confident it can handle literally anything I throw at it, it's so impressive.
As for intensive software, Adobe services boot very quickly with minimal stuttering, and load instantly. No crashing, no "not responding" issues, this thing takes it like a champ. I genuinely cannot think of a program this computer cannot reliably run with amazing performance. Blender, Adobe, Davinci, it all seems to run beautifully, I have no idea how to make something run slow on this computer, and I'm throwing some of the most demanding software at it already.
As for looks, you will not be disappointed. The RGB light bar has already gotten compliments from my friends who don't even care for gaming, and the keyboard/bar can be customized to your hearts content, there's so many fun effects to choose from. However, the design is subtle enough so that you can turn the LED bar off and switch the keyboard to a solid color and bring this into a professional setting without being questioned, it just looks like the Ferrari of computers at that point. The exterior is somewhat flashy on the lid, but it can pass as a luxury brand rather than a "gaming" laptop, which doesn't blend in well with professional settings.
As for multitasking, you can play a game and instantly pause it to look something up, watch a video, maybe edit something in Photoshop, and jump right back into your game, all with no stutters. Several heavy programs can run simultaneously on this with no worries, the RAM is a joy.
Overall, for the style you may be paying a little more than other computers, but it looks premium, feels premium, and runs like a premium machine. This thing will become your favorite laptop, and you will not regret the purchase.

If you are wanting to do some hardcore gaming this is an amazing option.
1st let me say this has the desktop 3070, not a max q version or 85watt model.
Has 1tb hd, 32gb ram. For the money this is the best laptop out on the market. Try it and see for yourself

Great build and great performance. Runs all the games I have tried so far at 60+ FPS. Heating is marginally better than my previous gaming laptop (Lenovo Y50). Sound is a bit of a letdown, but I use a speaker so it doesn't really impact my experience that much.

My wife is very happy. She is able to play Hogwarts Legacy with no issues. When I first bought it, I was able to run VR with it. Great gaming PC. I could not get the Face Log in to work. That was the only issue even though it should have worked.

I am pretty impressed so far. The build quality looks on par with a machine this expensive, and the speed seems great. Will need more time to test. Downside is that I will not be able to do much testing or playing with my new laptop because I'm working overtime to pay off the lien I put on my house to buy this beast. All good... I'm on that Ramen noodle diet now and my kids are wearing last year's clothes in order to support me on this unnecessary purchase.

Got this for my fiancé and he loves it! Plenty of ports for plug ins, runs like a dream, the display is awesome and you can toggle the fan on and off ( the fan is a bit loud when you toggle it on but that’s forgivable.)

My first gaming PC

This is my first computer, also my first time diving into pc gaming. With that said I can’t compare it to others, however this laptop is amazing so far. Plays all my games with little to no issue for hours at a time. It’s much better looking in person, and the fact all the ports are on the back is actually very convenient. I would recommend anyone to give this a try.
If I have to say one thing negative it would be the fans are a bit loud, but that’s expected for gaming. Which isn’t a issue for me personally, but I can see why people dislike loud fans.

First off the build quality is what you'd expect from an MSI. There is no haloing on the screen. The performance is fantastic, the 3070 is better than I expected! Out of the box, it scored 21655 in firestrike and 10391 in Timespy. Keyboard is what you expect from the steelseries that they use a lot. Here is the surprise... the cooling... it's actually quite good for a gaming laptop. Avg temps while gaming is 75-80c which makes the fans a non issue. My only real con is the touchpad. Seem a little flimsy, not as solid as the stealth series laptops.

It's a beast. Plus it came with Outriders which is a good game. This almost keeps up with my PC which is impressive, but overall I'm glad I purchased this one, it has served me well.
If you can afford it, get it. The Steelseries keyboard and lighting are really a nice touch, I personally love Steelseries and MSI so this personally is a great laptop so my opinion may be biased. But I haven't had any major issues, Windows is cooperating so that's cool.

It was a pretty good gaming laptop for the first couple days. But then things just went a little crazy. Started getting crash to desktop at times as well as other random issues. I believe I had a corrupted version of Windows as well as a possibly defective GPU. When I would play games the fans would sound like jet engines. Even my headset would not drown it out enough. The reason I think the GPU or the cooling was defective was because it would crash to desktop when the fans were really ramped up for a few minutes.
This is not the first or even the second time that I've had an MSI laptop with these problems. But it will be the last. I think you're better off waiting until Acer releases their lineup. They have never steered me wrong

Laptop is spectacular. Best laptop i've ever owned. Thermals are decent and can be better with under clocking. Games are smooth and run on max settings easy. Keyboard is nice and build quality is solid. Laptop can run a bit hot when running some games which is why the under clock or under volt is necessary. Another con is that this best buy edition comes with a i7 10750h not a 10870h. Another con is best buy edition comes with a 240hz panel and not a 300hz panel (240hz is more than enough). Overall great laptop for price.

Had a Razer Advanced 2070 Max-Q and upgraded to this. On the Razer when playing Cyber Punk 2077 I had to use low and mid settings with RTX off to have a FPS of 60-70. With this MSI 3070 Max-P I have all settings on high and ultra with RTX on Ultra and the game is how it should be played, getting around 85 FPS. These new 3070 Max-P and 30 Series GPU’s are absolutely amazing.
FYI: If you wanna upgrade the storage space it’s simple to do and they allow you to have 2 M.2 SSD drives

Wow... this thing is incredible. Tons of style. Blazing fast performance... If you're serious about gaming on the go, this is it. Don't look elsewhere. Buy. This. Laptop. The aurora light bar on the front combined with the steelseries backlit keyboard just make you feel all happy inside using it. Then the performance.... the RTX 3070 card is ridiculously fast compared to the previous series of cards. This thing is a monster and honestly a steal at the current price. Bravo. Well done MSI!

I have wanted a laptop not only for gaming, but also for school. I have done research for months and I ended up settling with this one. First off, the aesthetics are great! The light bar is so beautiful, and goes along perfect with the rgb keyboard. You can customize them both, as well. This laptop runs all the games I have tested so far perfectly, and I could not be more pleased. MSI did an amazing job!
