    Great gaming computer

I love it! My only complaint is that the power adapter connects to the middle of the right side of the laptop, which is where I place my mouse. It's not too much of a bother if I position the cable just right, but it's a notable irritant. I also wish the custom keyboard colors were more "vibrant." What I mean by that is if you use the dragon control center, it has preset colors you can choose, or you can use a color wheel to change the keyboard colors. The preset colors are much more vibrant than any point on the color wheel. The only reason I wouldn't recommend an MSI computer to a friend is due to their constantly poor customer reviews. I'm an IT person, so I'm not too worried about any issues; my friends however are not tech savvy and would rely on the customer support.

This laptop for me was the best option to buy and great deal in black friday. I was always wishing to have a gaming computer to carry on plus a laptop to do my job (editing, photography, FX and more). I love this laptop.

This laptop is just what I was looking for! Coming in at under $1,600 this is a lightweight gaming laptop with great specs and a very plush user experience. The keyboard is perfect, it feels great and it's also very quiet. The display is great, everyone hating on this monitor must have a bad unit because the monitor on mine is fantastic. The viewing angle is great and I really love the anti-glare, I can use it under any lighting with no issues. Overall you cannot beat the form factor or price on this solid machine!

The dual hard drives work great for our applications requiring speed in processing and writing data. How they pack this kind of performance into a slim package is a wonder. More performance than my desktop right now.

The GS63VR caught my eye when I first saw it. Not only does this laptop look great it also performs. With the i7-7700HQ processor, 16 GB of DDR4, 256GB SSD and nVidia GeForce 1060 apps and games are blazing fast. On top of that; a 1TB traditional disk gave me plenty of space to store archival pictures, music, and movies. The keyboard is easy to type with and the touchpad fine for browsing and working. I like how many usb ports this laptop provides and that they are on both sides.

I purchased this gaming laptop when it was on sale, and I'm glad I did. Before, I was working on getting a portable machine that could handle gaming and editing, and this was the final decision. The lightweight design is great for portability and the power is high. The only part that can be a bit annoying is the loud fans when playing games, but other than that I have had no issues with it.

This is the the thinnest unit that also has a powerful video card. The fans are very well placed and the unit is the best of all worlds. Very portable and the very solid. Well worth your money

This laptop is great! I use it for gaming at home and it runs all the newest games. Games don't detect the specs well so they might default to low settings. Be sure to increase the settings to the highest for each game that does this. The laptop is also great for traveling. I walk with it in a backpack often and it feels extremely lighter than other gaming laptops. The customizable keyboard that the laptop comes with is also a huge plus for gamers.

Cutting Edge performance but occasional errors

I exchanged this laptop on 9/1/2018 since my old MSI Laptop MSIGS63VR had a power button issue and was discontinued. I bought this laptop for $54 as it was the additional fee for the exchange. The $54 was surely worth it. I game, use adobe softwares, keep a million tabs open, record videos-all you can name and it still runs super smoothly. Surely it can't underperform with it's 1060 Nvidia graphics card and 8th gen core i7-8750H This laptop features a more sophisticated RGB keyboard lighting than by old MSI laptop. You are able to control the colors of individual keys and even make different moving color effects with the steelseries control panel. Another notable feature is the DragonCenter control panel. It allows you to specifically to monitor and configure internal devices such as the fan change and to different screen profiles, which adapts your screen color to either Gaming, Office, Movie, AntiBlue, Light, or Standard physical setting. A negative would probably be the heating issue with the charge. After prolonged connection (1hr+) to a power source, the charger tends to get very HOT. The solution would be to disconnect the charger and let it naturally cool. The bad side to this is that you won't be able to run high processing power games smoothly as you always need the charger connected to render higher fps. One more negative is the fact that this laptop has occasional error messages. Sometimes it tends to freeze and cause a blue screen of death, stating the windows error codes such as "Critical_Process_Died," which is EXTREMELY inconvenient. This is the greatest flaw of this laptop. Excluding those drawbacks, I would definitely recommend this laptop to those planning to do high-processing in any field.

Compared to a lot of other gaming laptops this one is surprisingly really really light. Just at 4lbs. Only issue i had was that it does run a little warm underload( gaming for more than 2 hours). Under normal use there was no heating issues at all. Performance wise I haven't found a game that couldn't run on this beast. Im honestly really happy about this purchase.

If you are looking for a budget laptop for gaming and are not concerned about what you see or hear, then go for this. This is a beast which lacks only a good screen and the speakers. They are not upto the mark. There are some ghosting issues with the laptop though which are very temporary. The battery backup is around 2.5 hrs with browsing and YouTube.. Returned on 10th day.

Really good laptop for a low price. My only concern is that you cannot remove the battery. Coz i use this at home so i dont need the battery at all times. I just plug it in. Overall is excellent tho.

I Haven't had it long enough for a full review, but I like it's form factor for the power it punches. Though not overly loud, you certainly here the fans kick in when you begin using the GPU heavily.

This is a very powerful computer and is a good laptop. The fans might be a little loud for some people but can lower some heat after deleting blotwear. MSI is a good developer but NORTON???

This laptop is kind of hard to adjust to in terms of the keyboard layout but after you get the hang of that it is very seamless to use. The only setbacks I have are: the Wi-Fi driver having issues (the Wi-Fi would drop the connection and act like it was off at random times and for random lengths) and the battery life was not great even in power saving mode. overall this product was great for gaming and could handle every game I threw at it on ultra settings.

SSD! VR-ready graphics card Excellent for the price (used to rely on Mac for my 3D modeling and animation work, but that cost more than twice what this MSI cost and gets the job done just as well) Powerful processor (i7) Plenty of RAM - if you’re like me and have to run multiple programs at the same time (or VR equipment), you’ll love this. Speed! - no lag, everything starts up almost instantly. Cons: Screen visibility - there’s a bit of drop-off in visibility if you look at the screen from a little off-center, otherwise it’s clear, sharp, good colors. I use a monitor for any work requiring color accuracy, though. (Coming from a MacBook Pro, I’m used to consistent visibility from all angles.) Disk space - sacrificed a bit of disk space for the SSD, but if you use a cloud drive or external for the bulk of your files, you only need the laptop’s disk space for programs, anyway. (I play a variety of games and use several programs for graphics work, so I felt the lack of overall space, just takes getting used to and a change of routine). Fans - since this laptop runs powerful stuff, the laptop gets pretty hot and those fans are loud. (None of these items are deal-breakers for me, just took a little getting used to for some)
