Great for Gaming, Work, and School

A great laptop for any scenario. Incredibly thin and light making it viable to carry around. Doesn't stand out too much as a "gaming" PC and can easily look like any regular laptop. Games run smoothly when plugged in or even on the go as long as they're run on the correct settings. Plenty of storage space and quick reading speeds with the SSD and strong CPU. Overall, I would buying this gaming laptop if you are in need of an upgrade!

I'm planning on a vacation here soon and I needed a solid performance gaming laptop to cover my gaming needs while away from my desktop. This is considered a higher end gaming laptop. I agree with this. It uses a very powerful Intel I7 11800h cpu. The laptop uses a up 95w Nvidia RTX 3060 mobile gpu. This gpu is using 6gb of dedicated memory. It also allows games to use ray tracing. The computer comes with pretty fast 3200mhz memory with two 8gb modules for a total of 16gb of memory. The timings on the memory are satisfactory for a gaming laptop.
The laptop plays all of my games with high to ultra settings depending on the title. I can play CP 2077 on high settings with RT on at 1080P and it stays above the 60 fps mark with ease.
This laptop ate Doom Eternal for breakfast, but that game has been modified very well from the producers. PUBG runs flawless at the highest settings possible. With this gpu, I don't expect any game to run below high settings, almost all games should be able to run well at ultra, especially since it's a 1080p laptop.
The audio is pretty standard for a laptop, everyone uses a headset when they game on these as laptop speakers are always subpar. The track pad is large but not over touchy where you would hit it on mistake. The entire case is made from solid metal material. Perhaps steel or aluminum. The screen is impressive for a laptop, 240mhz refresh rate and a fair 3ms response time. It all looks and runs smooth at 1080p.
Inside there is room to ad another m.2 drive if you would like more than the 1tb it comes with. The keyboard is fun and uses a nice RGB steel series layout. This is a thin slim line gaming laptop, so I suggest purchasing a laptop cooling pad as this laptop gets warm. You should expect this with a 11th gen I7 and a RTX 3060 combo. Over all this is a very good gaming laptop. It only gets slightly better moving up to a 3070 or 3080 build. I am very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend this laptop as a gaming device when away from a high powered gaming desktop.

What Im using this for: Heavy 2D and 3D animation for work, but when Im off the clock I have to play halo infinite with the office. ;)
Performance:
10/10 - Extremely fast response times, render times, load times, and high frame rates for gaming and work.
Display:
10/10 - Trust me, 240Hz makes a huge difference visually, Ive never seen anything so smooth in my life.
Sound:
5/10 - The speakers arent the best, but not bad. You need to make sure you switch to the realtek speakers to have a decent experience. But its honestly not bad, and online solutions with Equalizer APO if you want to mess around with it.
Wifi:
9/10 - high quality network adapter, its honestly impressive when paired with the SSD.
Ethernet is also available.
Keyboard:
9/10 - Comfortable and silent.
Trackpad:
8/10 - Comfortable, smooth, and the tap detection is useful during my workload. (clicking is on the bottom half of the pad instead of the entire thing.)
Fan Noise: LOUD
Im not giving this a rating, because honestly this laptop is an absolute beast and I expected it to be loud.
Look: Clean and simple
Feel: Comfy
Size: Similar size to a macbook pro 15" so its honestly a perfect size. not too small not too big.

Purchased as gaming desktop replacement, so I run it docked with external monitor/speakers 95% of the time.
Pros: Performs well. Good display. Thin profile. Large, responsive trackpad. Excellent port selection.
Cons: Runs hot. Loud fans. Weird keyboard font. Had to use goo gone to remove the stickers on the deck.
Summary: Cons are minor. Would totally buy again.

I think this gaming laptop fits all my needs for gaming and content creation. I also get to play games at around 200 fps (varies game to game) and higher for some but it can pretty much play anything up to 60 fps or 120fps pretty easily but note if you want max performance you should make sure to mess around in settings. Overall I haven't had any problems with it and it is very responsive after using it for about a month. The computer also comes with the MSI app center which is an emulation of an android phone on the laptop which is MSI version of Bluestacks. It runs well overall but, it does crash sometimes when I play it for more than 2 hours. No other problems. The laptop is very light so you can take it places, not the thinnest but, weighs less than 10 pounds. The laptop fans are loud, but that's the only drawback because you can also change the fan settings. There are about three fans on the bottom of the computer. Overall I enjoy getting this computer, where I can do so many things without being limited by my GPU or CPU.

Running and looking great right out of the box. I went to town downloading all of my favorite games and new ones that I was not able to run previously. I had no issues and all games were running very fast. The laptop is slim yet sturdy and looks very sleek.

This is an awesome gaming laptop and Best Buy is second to none.
First, Best Buy. Had the total tech support. Old laptop's fan bearing bad with less than a year in use. Needed computer for school so couldn't wait weeks for repair. Best Buy management made it possible to return the old laptop for a full-price credit toward a new one.
Second, MSI. In a word, awesome. Screen is a MAJOR improvement over the old system. 1TBSSD, RTX3060, I7 equal blazing fast. Aesthetic of the computer, thin and well made, great. Couldn't be happier.

Upgraded from the Dell Inspiron 17 7000. I had the last one for 7 years before it gave out on me. I've been using this new one for about a week, and I have to say it's incredible. Super fast! Launches software and turns on almost immediately. Not 100% a fan of the unicorn vomit keyboard, but it looks cool. I love how I can change the fan speed with a push of a button. My last one always had a problem of overheating, so this is a nice change.

Solidly built and love the Thunderbolt 4 port. It allows me to just plug in a hub connected to monitor, hard drives, and keyboard and mouse with a single cable, and receive power as well! The 240hz screen is also very nice, but I haven’t been able to fully take advantage of it with any game using the RTX 3060 built in. I do wish it had a high resolution, but for me, I have it hooked up to a 4K HDR monitor a majority of the time. Fans get noticeably loud when play games, but a headset solves that problem!

I have been using this laptop daily for a couple of months now. The battery life is surprisingly good when doing general productivity tasks. When gaming, battery life is pretty poor and it needs to be plugged in. Laptop does get pretty hot when gaming and you can hear the fans running. Looks nice although the casing is a magnet for fingerprints and dust. Runs a range of games and other software quickly and smoothly. Thus far, I've had no complaints or problems with it.

When we bought this laptop, there were not any reviews online, so it was a risky purchase. We are so happy with this laptop. It has a sleek design and operates fantastically. Only issue is that it tends to overheat easily, so the fan has to be put on a higher speed. It is great for gaming and doesn't lag. Cannot report on the battery life as it is always plugged in due to the amount of gaming done. It also works great for other things such as school work.

This thing is a beauty. Works as well as a desktop, runs smoothly, and the SSD makes this thing nice and quick as you'd want it to be.
The con? This thing runs HOT. You need to not only go into the MSI settings and run the fans for when you are in a game, but you really do need to have a chill mat or a fan to elevate and help cool this thing. If you put the money into it, it will pay you back by lasting well.

After scouring the internet for good gaming models, I came across the GS66 and purchased it. So far, I'm loving it. I specifically looked for strong gaming ability in a light form factor. For the games I've installed so far, it has produced very strong and steady framerates. Boot times and speed are very nice. Login using the face security is pretty fast in all the lighting conditions I've used it in.
The fan noise isn't loud but can be constant and noticeable under load. That is completely reasonable considering that you are gaming pretty well in a relatively small form factor. Having owned multiple Alienware laptops, I can appreciate the engineering required to push this amount of performance into a more portable design.
The battery performs pretty well when not gaming and can be extended utilizing the battery save mode. I just wish it had longer battery life in general. Once again, somewhat expected but it'd be nice to have more.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the design, aesthetics, and performance of this machine.

What a beast! I purchased this laptop for image editing and its workhorse capabilities, I'm not a gamer. It's compact, sturdy, good looking, FAST, perfect. I purchased a USB C Mouse to free up the other two USB ports for my external hard drives. Fantastic battery life so far. Nice graphics, I'm really happy with it. It's a great quality piece for the price.

The fans get pretty loud but overall the performance is great, and the ability to set on-the-fly user scenarios with a shortcut is convenient alongside all the other bells and whistles on the F row. The 240 hz display is also a fantastic addition and it's noticeably nicer to view high framerate content.

I really love this laptop. I did upgrade the ram to 64GB and added another NVMe drive. I docked it a whole star because I did have some issues with getting it running and the speakers are crap. I typically use headphones anyway but I do like some nice laptop speakers. Other than the speakers and the issues with running hot I had in the beginning its a great laptop!
