I received the board today, installed everything, and all my drives were recognized. The only issue I encountered was that the chipset drivers wouldn't install, but I'll troubleshoot that separately. Overall, I like the board. This is actually the second MSI motherboard I've owned—the first one went into a build for someone else, and since they never had any complaints, it must have worked well. This time, the system booted up quickly with no major issues aside from the chipset drivers. I'd say this is one of the better X870 boards available.

This board offers a lot for the price compared to other x870e boards. But there's one big issue currently that will likely cause you frustration. On the plus side, there's a ton of I/O options on the back. The easy lock / release for PCI-E slot 1 is awesome. The wifi antenna is far and away better than my previous motherboard's 3rd party. BIOS offers a lot of easy to access settings. The M2 SSD quick-release tabs are so nice, as are the tool-less heatsink panels for them. However, this board hasn't been perfect: The M2_1 slot has a notorious issue in which it boots with PCI-E 1x4 interface speed, vs 5x4 or even 4x4. To get the proper interface speed, you have to reboot over and over - 4 or 5 times each time to launch with the correct interface speed. Take a quick google search for "PCIe x870e tomahawk M2_1" and read more on it, how wide-spread it is, and what can be done about it. MSI Support claims it's an RMA issue, but then released a BIOS update that resolved the issue for multiple users - then immediately removed that BIOS update from being available for download. I'm sure it'll be resolved at some point, but it definitely isn't today. Just FYI.

I've seen bad reviews of this motherboard, but in my case it worked like a charm, just got it and installed it, no problems at all, 5 out of 5 stars.

Got it for my stepson for his build. He’s been eyeballing this one .it looks super nice and I bet it will rock. Pairing it with the 9800 x3d can’t wait to get him going

Excellent board has many features others don't, even little things like an extra USB plugin, a quick release button for the GPU, as well as the M.2

Great motherboard. It lets me know on the digital window what the CPU temp is, shows error codes, and the software to update is very easy to update from the MSI control panel which also shows GPU, RAM, and CPU temps. It’s a bit pricey but I got it on sale.

Chose this 'MSI - MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI' to pair with a 9800x3D CPU when upgrading from a 9900K/ROG STRIX Z-390E build and I couldn't be happier. First AMD build for me and was concerned about differences in components but everything worked first try. I read several reviews and this MSI mobo was highly rated for it's build quality and PCI-E lane support. My next build will very likely be MSI as well.

Easiest motherboard that I've ever built with. Everything is easy to get to.

Good amount of usb. And plug and play. the pci power plug at the botton seems like a gimmick and it in a bad spot. To far for pci power cable split cable. Any one need this kind of power would get a higher end board. Every works as expected.

I got this board because it was the cheapest x870e one with SPDIF output. So far I'm happy with it, its really heavy and reflects that it has a 8 layer PCB, instead of the 6 layer one gigabyte mobo's have. The heatsinks are all pretty beefy as well, and I like the M.2 thermal pads it has. Only problem I ran into was my first tomahawk mobo did not line up with the IO port not clicking in and the screws not aligning. I returned it and got the same one new, and it worked fine. I am a big fan of the current promotions MSI has which gives a $30 steam credit if you register the product online.

The price is reasonable, so buy while you can. It is heavy Duty 8-layer motherboard. Is is fast and has PCIE 5.0 video and SSD. I have 9900x and it runs cool. 2 USB 4.0 ports and 4 m.2 slots. New improved bios. This is the best value in its class and available at Best Buy. Saved me a trip to M-Center in Atlanta, GA.
