Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the excellent MSI BIOS, easy setup, and strong performance of the MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI motherboard, along with its good value for the price and extensive features. However, some users express concerns regarding the limited RGB customization options, VRM overheating, and the placement of fan headers. The board's quality and accompanying software also received mixed feedback.

My wife and I both have PCs that we built with this Motherboard. It will hold up to 128 Gb of Ram and has 2 M.2 slots with 6 Sata ports. Plus WiFi and Bluetooth.

Only gave it 4 stars because it turns out this model is the one known for heat/vrm issues if you're intending to overclock in a big way. I'm using an 3700x and letting the system control itself which keeps it around 4.2-4.3 GHz. Temps on the CPU hang around 60-70 and the board fan pretty much never kicks in. Plenty of ports and options and it was still $100-$200 less than other boards at the time.

I am really enjoying this board quite a bit. Upgraded from an Asrock b450m Steel Legend and while that was a decent budget board with rgb. This board is able to handle overclocking like a beast! Before I couldnt even run my Corsair 3200mhz ram in XMP for some weird reason. Even when I tried manual timings. And I couldn't OC my R5 3600 CPU to any more than 3.8 before I got stability issues. Now my rig is running the cpu at 4.2 and ram is all at the OC 3200mhz XMP and running perfectly stable. Haven't seen my bios in weeks! Just love it.

The first motherboard I bought was also a MSI board but it seemed to have a corrupted bios. So I bought this board from Best Buy after much research for a board that would work and was in stock with all of the Covid 19 stocking issues. I found this one that was in my price range even though a $100 more I thought it was worth it and so far it has been. The bios is much easier to use. The board looks and feels great and the manual was easy to use. The only down side so far was the VM settings hiding in the OC menu but a Google search found that out for me.

I read/watched a lot of reviews about this specific motherboard. It was a lot of back and fourth with praise and complaints. After I was initially concerned and pulled the trigger, I can tell you the worst thing to worry about with this board is the WiFi speed if you’re going to rely on that for your connection (depending on how much bandwidth you get from your isp) and VRM heating if you’re overclocking beyond stock speeds or using anything more than a 3900X. I get, at most, 250mbps using the built in Wifi while being about 10 feet from the router; My WiFi USB adapter, in comparison, normally takes advantage of at least 600mbps of my 1gbps Connection. Needless to say, I went back to using my AC1900 USB adapter. If you plan on overclocking or getting any of the 12 core + Ryzen models, you most likely will never experience any of the VRM heating complaints you read about this board. Yes, the they could have done better with the VRM cooling solutions, but at stock speeds using a evo 212 black edition air cooler with 1 intake + 1 exhaust case fan, I don’t get anywhere near the commonly complained about temps. The final verdict from all my research - as long as you’re not overclocking or using anything more powerful than a 3900X, this board won’t cause heating issues and the better your case cooling the more you can ignore those complaints. I got this board because I have only used MSI for all my past builds and never once had a single issue with them. This continues that trend so far after several days of constant use, I can say I’m very pleased I pulled the trigger and would recommend to anyone whose looking to get future proofed entry level X570 board and avoid biosflash.

I recently built my first pc and did a bunch of research for my needs. this board stood out the most and I can say I am not disappointed. The I\O shield already being installed made it a breeze to put in the case. The Audio is definitely worth it along with the nahimic capabilities. The looks of this board are also great. the silver has a nice rainbow like reflection on it at certain angles. my favorite is definitely the audio and ease of use of all the msi software and bios. great for first time builders as well as OCers. it exceeds what I thought a great motherboard was.

X570 are, at the moment, for those who are looking to future-proof their PC. Usually newer architecture combined with cutting-edge features in other departments comes at a premium. I am happy to say that not only does this board come with the newest CPU architecture, USB-C functionality, and M2 SSD capability (a must for future-proofing against PS5/Xbox Series X console specs) it is extremely modestly priced. As far as price for features goes, I can't image there being too many mobo's that surpass this option.

Works great switched out my b450 to this and no complaints. Using a ryzen 7 5800x, AIO Coolermaster, 32gb of Vengence LP ram 3600mhz , over clocking the ryzen to 4.8hz and ram to 4000mhz no issues. Running it in a nzxt h510 elite case Everything but the ryzen 7 was bought from Best Buy, and price matching is a must. You can pride match with Amazon as long as it’s sold and shipped from Amazon. Along with other competitors. So I’m always getting a great deal

Great board. Worked on first start up after assembled. Updated BIOS to latest from msi site with no trouble. Installed AMD 3700X CPU, 32GB RGB corsair memory and 1TB m.2 SSD. Motherboard RGB is nice, not as bright as I thought they should be, brightness Maxed. Software is simple to use and also picks up AMD CPU cooler RGB lighting if using cooler USB option. UEFI BIOS has plenty of options for normal use, to over clocking of CPU and RAM. Fan control options like all other brands.

This motherboard is pretty packed with features. Most notably, is WiFi, of course. The wireless controller also provides Bluetooth right out of the box. 2 M.2 Slots gives access to fast storage without any cables. This also includes 6 SATA Ports for those solutions that do use cables. Tons of IO headers for USB 3 and 2. Several Fan headers. Debug LEDs(Very small). Only Con: No internal USB 3.2 Gen 2 header. (Only on the Type-C port on the back-plate) Overall, worth the $200.

Affordable and not a wide variety of choices from best buy but this one here has a lot of the major features of its more expensive counterparts (including RGB!) PLENTY OF FAN HEADERS! Bios menu can feel like bloatware with all the nuanced options and weird choices versus legacy but it's a small price to pay for the Bluetooth, wifi, and dual m.2 slots

I been building gaming motherboards for a long time and this is my new favorite mother board. It has the X570 which is the best chip set for AM4 ryzen chips at a great price. It also comes with WIFI and bluetooth built in and 2 m.2 nVme slots for support of PCIE 4.0 SSDs. This motherboard went on sale for $169 which made it a great deal. Highly recommended.

Clocking/volting up RAM causes audio crackle.

Just as a note, this is a prevalent issue with X570 chipsets. Just Google "crackling audio X570". Doesn't matter if you're using onboard audio or a sound card. The BIOS automatically sets installed RAM to 2133MHz regardless of rated speed, which is fairly normal. However, if you upclock it to its intended frequency, it introduces some bizarre crackling and fading into audio. I believe, based on my research, that this might be primarily because I lazily let the motherboard do automatic voltage adjustment, and apparently you can dial in an exact manual voltage that will allow upclocking without the issue, but I haven't crossed that bridge yet. One other side note, though it probably was in the documentation and I just didn't pay enough attention: M.2 slot 1 (directly south of the CPU socket) ONLY takes NVME devices. I had tried to move over my old M.2 SSD boot drive and assumed that slot 1, complete with a fancy little cooling channel, was the right one, but no, it actually needed to go into slot 2 (down by the second PCI 1x lane). Otherwise, a decent board with an... Okay... UEFI, I've definitely seen better. Integrated IO shield/assembly so no futzing with an IO bracket. Plenty of internal and external connectivity to spare. Feels nice and solid, the dark color of the board feels suitably understated/"cool". As one of the cheaper X570 options, you can't go wrong I suppose.
