I like the board it looks nice and has the M2 slot.
MSI command center ( dragon whatever) is a pain in the butt. I can't control any of the RGBs or anything because it doesn't work.

Read up somewhere that MSI motherboards have a 3% DoA rate, meaning 3% of their boards will be dead by the time they get to you, so use caution. My first one from MSI came dead, but I’m currently awaiting a replacement. If it goes will I’ll edit my review.

The memory slots went after 1 1/2 months causing bsod, resets, fried processor, and general chaos DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE OR YOU MAY REGRET IT!!!!!
It even set my processor on fire it was a new intel i5 9600k without ever doing any overclocking, MSI will not replace anything and is a bunch of rude people on the phone.

Installed the board and everything worked great for a month. Then I started getting BSOD's at random all over the place. Turns out it has a bad DIMM slot.
Now im out the money and have to purchase a new one. This is horrible. I will never purchase MSI again. I have built many PC's and this is a first for me.

After one month of use, it completely stopped working. only powering the RGB lights on my ram sticks, mouse and keyboard. Best Buy won't do anything about it. Have to wait for MSI customer service to help me

Looked like I received a refurbished motherboard. It had no plastic wrap or stickers holding the box closed. It didn't work. Took it back. Got a new one. It didn't work either. Wasted a day troubleshooting a broken mobo.

Spectacular Motherboard

This board definitely strikes a great balance between price and performance. I used this mobo for my first build and did hours of research into which one would suit my needs best. Initially I was looking at the MSI Gaming Edge, but decided to settle on the Pro Carbon AC for the design and wifi capability. Currently using it with a 9th Gen i5 and an RTX 2070 and couldn't be happier. Also the rgb looks great, not too flashy and bright, but still visible. Mystic Light also works perfectly to control the Corsair rgb elements in the case (cooler, fans, ram).
Overall great board!

A well designed board with a fatal flaw...

The MSi Gaming Pro Carbon is a nice looking board with great features with one fatal flaw. The board utilizes a 4+2 voltage regulator design which is insufficient for the latest high (95+) wattage AMD Ryzen CPUs. Better boards have as much asa a 14+2 VRM deisgn (such as MSi's top boards). MSi cut corners here and it shows when the board is pushed under load.
When running under load, the voltage regulators will run a steady 95 degrees, extremely high where some other brands run only 65-75 degrees C. If you are using a 65 watt or lower Ryzen CPU, this should not pose a problem.
If you are looking to use a AMD 3900X or any CPU that draws 95 watts or more, I would look elsewhere, especially if you want to overclock the CPU. The motherboard will cause the CPU to thermal throttle, e.g. slow down until the temps go down.

Broken Out of the Box

Went to run this on my machine upgrading from a lesser MSI board.
System would immediately power down if any CPU power was connected.
Verified the CPU was good and also tested a second processor in both machines, only posted on the old board.
Tried booting the machine with CPU power disconnected and it started with no issues, returning and going to update if a replacement board works.
