Decent budget gaming monitor. Has freesync and a generous 165hz refresh rate. Big knock is that the stand is not adjustable. I returned it for a more expensive model with some more features. This doesn't knock the panel quality, though. Just make sure you do custom color temp to something like 96/96/96 R/G/B.

Got a great deal on this monitor during Black Friday (2020). I was looking for a larger, 27"+, monitor with 144hz+ refresh rate and this one was under $200. I didn't seek out a curved monitor, but have enjoyed it. for the size and 165hz refresh I wish it was at least 2560 × 1440 pixels (WQHD), or preferably 3840 x 2160, but again for the price its a great deal, great buy.

Decent Monitor but no DisplayPort Cable

This a good monitor for the price. It looks really nice and the menu is super intuitive and really easy to access. I knocked a star off because the description says it comes with a DisplayPort cable but it does NOT. It only comes with HDMI and the manufacturer description is wrong here at Best Buy and everywhere else. With HDMI you can get up to 144hz but to get the full 165 you would need to get a DP cable. This is my first curved monitor and while I was hesitant at first to go curve, I am glad I did.

Works amazingly. Turns off on its own when I shut off my system, saves me the extra step. Great display and runs so smoothly. Easy to transport and sleek display. Have already had it for two years and never once had a problem.

Absolutely mind boggling,I have a 4k 60hz tv and this monitor makes it look better way better then that tv. We are talking about every blade of grass and hair with a smoothness that makes you feel like your surfing threw water while gaming. I play pc and Xbox series x ,ps5 on it and it looks insanely incredible, if u buy this monitor you won't need another monitor for gaming period....hands down best monitor ever

I went in thinking about just picking up a 32" TV to replace my dead monitor and then I saw this baby. Curved screen, 1080p, up to 165hz, with 3 different inputs (including Display Port so I didn't need a new HDMI cable which ended up being included in the box...bonus). Very clear picture. No Dead pixels. The joy stick to control the menus is so much better than multiple buttons. Since it has Adaptive Sync it works great with my AMD graphics card. And...... it was cheaper than the low-end TV I was looking to buy!!! Fixs on my desk perfectly with almost no top or side bezels. Has the holes for wall-mount or control arm mount (Which is in it's future when I add another or 2). Ridiculously light. I think the box it came in was heavier.

I hadn’t considered myself more of a budget buyer until I found this monitor. My first look towards the MSI Optix G27C5 27” immediately shifted from the glorious design, curvature of the display, and the sheer size of the monitor, it was truly a sight to behold. It was colossal, it seemed efficient for any activity I could throw at it. I thought this could be the one. The MSI Optix G27C5 27” retailed for $229.99 at the time of purchase. Over the past year, I considered transitioning over to PC gaming based on the advantages of high-end and adjustable performance options, not typically available in most console titles. So over the year 2021, I finally got tied up in researching what I’ve been missing out on and realized I wanted to immerse myself into the realm of PC gaming. I came to purchase a gaming laptop rather than a prebuild or entirely building a computer entirely due to the convenience and portability that a laptop can offer. I had purchased the ASUS Zephyrus G15 2070 Max-Q in March of 2021 from best buy. Still realizing a laptop alone is nowhere near the level of gaming I would be satisfied with, I began crafting the perfect gaming setup. First, I had to consider a peripheral configuration. After purchasing a desk, keyboard, and mouse, I needed one more piece to complete my home gaming space, a monitor. Looking into monitors within the budget range was highly difficult, as some options were several years old, didn’t offer more than 1 HDMI output, offered 3ms response times, and some were capped entirely at a 120 refresh rate. I found this absolutely ridiculous. I needed something to withstand FPS titles and my needs for medium-intensity gaming. Searching exclusively within the price range of $200.00-$350.00, I found a few leading options and decided to head out to a local Best Buy retail location, on 9733 Rosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia PA, 19114. In short, I returned with an open box ASUS TUF 27” VG279QR. As one of the top recommendations of my customer representative, Christopher, I took his word as I was greatly interested in owning this type of monitor, as it would become my first IPS display. IPS displays generally have significant advantages in areas of enhanced color shifting and image distortion in comparison to the more common, VA LED display. Although relatively satisfied with my purchase, I had continued to question and talk it over with some friends on their opinions of this purchase. The worst comment of all had suggested I may have overpaid for the namesake rather than the technology. Additionally, some other problems were constant screen tearing and touting of its feature Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) product feature didn’t work too well. In disbelief, I had questioned this and ultimately ended up returning it in favor of another. One important suggestion came from my friend Justin, who mentioned giving the MSI Optix line a try. After looking into it and realizing the value of the company, through its partnership with the ESports league, it definitely built credibility and I was sold. I stumbled upon the MSI Optix G27C5 27”! The greatest discovery since sliced bread! Immediate impressions came from the unboxing and the first week with the monitor. Assembly was extremely streamlined and simplistic, both the monitor display and stand were made out of some immediately noticeable grade-A materials. The textured grip and back panel design were superb. Although not being an adjustable display, it remains at the perfect height and doesn’t require an adjustment from me since unboxing. The software of the display is very minimal yet advanced; offering internal features and toggled settings such as FPS Mode, Image Enhancement, and a new Game Mode setting, RPG. In comparison to the prior years model, MSI Optix G27C4 27” (2019), the MSI Optix G27C5 27” (2020), has seen improvements in the areas of the monitor stand, which received a total redesign, making it more lush and usable against flat surfaces like walls, a slight UI redesign, and a brighter display with better color accuracy. My typical gameplay of titles such as Call of Duty Warzone, Destiny 2, Hades, and a few other FPS and RPG titles. All of which had extensive color palettes and graphic intensities that would really show off the monitor's performance. The qualifications of my gaming laptop allowed for performance in most of these titles to range from 60-120 Hz on medium-low settings. Generally, because I stayed within this range of frames, I haven’t reached the peak of 165hz this monitor could offer. However, with titles like Clone Hero that run buttery smooth above 200hz, it made a significant difference and I fell into a level of immersion in my gaming not possible on Console titles. Overall, I would continue to experience relatively smooth gameplay without missing out too much, but at times when I would reach that max refresh rate, it was golden. Most downfalls come from the fault of my laptop systems capabilities. 1 month later, I continue to enjoy the MSI Optix G27C5 27” (2020). The Optix’s product line of MSI seems to continue improving its already revolutionary monitor line, not only with the upgrades in comparison to last years MSI Optix G27C4 27” (2019) but also offering this equipment at such a price range. My experiences with MSI products so far continue to be positive and have been nothing lower than superb, I’m sold! I hope if you read this, you decide to give their peripheral product line a try! You’ll be sure to love it just as much as I do! Overall seems like a very solid choice for someone looking to get into the medium level of gaming, this monitor can handle high performance and low with no problem. I think the panel design is beautiful and the durability of the display has withstood several accidental taps and hits, but still manages to survive. Safely, I could say, “This was a good purchase.”

I love my new MSI Optic "Curved" monitor. It's the 1st curved monitor I've ever had and it's the perfect size. Great picture. It toggles easily between the 3 computers I hooked up all at the same time. 2 computers on the Display ports and 1 on HDMI.

Great for the price. Bought a single arm mount. The stand is not very adjustable. I knew I was using an arm mount so the original stand didn't matter to me. Great image. Good frames. Almost bought a second for a third monitor setup....still might down the road.

Well it was a good monitor. Idk if it was worth almost $300 but it seemed to work good. Unfortunately it fell forward landing on a controller which damaged the internal screen so it is now useless.

Bought 2 one randomly broke 3 months later

I bought 2 of these, I'm making this review 4 months later, the monitors were amazing quality and perfectly fine. In tell, last month, one of mine randomly broke for no reason, the inside paneling cracked and I didn't even do anything to it. Bestbuy gave me a full refund but I had to talk to them for a long time to get a refund... MSI didn't want to give me a refund even though it was mostly their fault for the bad design, so I would say the durability is terrible, but everything else is fine now, I only have one monitor now. Also, it's super hard to put the HDMI/DVI/DP inside you cant put it in easily because the back wasn't designed very well It takes an hour to get it switched there is a thing blocking it so you can't even see where it goes! also back when I bought them they where 40 dollars off so if I bought a new one to match the other monitor then I'm going to have to pay $40, I don't think I'll be buying another MSI monitor.
