Great specs. Performs very well. Total package.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My title more or less sums up my thoughts, this laptop is powerful enough to tackle anything you throw at it, very well. Beyond that, it is well-built, looks good, and has some nice and well thought out adds that only improve the overall experience. There are quite a few things I like about this machine, but for me, the best aspect is that it comes very well spec’d. Across the board. A powerful, efficient CPU and NPU, 32GB of quick RAM, and a dedicated 4070. The 1 TB NVMe is also nice, but I really would have liked to see 2TB here, especially since this is pushed as a gaming machine. Game files are so big these days. Props for 32GB of RAM (and the ability to expand), both of which should start being the standard in my mind, but I would have loved some extra space. Beyond all of that, the screen is fantastic. Nice resolution, refresh rate and tight bezels. Produces a clean image, with bright, vivid, and accurate colors. Text is sharp. All in all, just a nice screen to look at. I may be in the minority here, but I also love the matte display. On some level I am sure it takes a tick away from the vibrancy, but for me, it is so preferred. Just something to note. Performance-wise, I could not be happier. Everything is quick, snappy, and runs smoothly. Games have been a joy so far with absolutely zero issues (the fans do fire when pushed, sure, but they are not overbearing), and everything I throw at it is more of the same. Photo/video editing, data crunching, office stuff, general life stuff, and even my Chrome tab “problem” is, well not a problem. I have only lightly touched some AI stuff so far, but I feel there will be a lot of play here when I deeper into it (and the space itself brings more to the table). Beyond specs and performance, I came away impressed with the build and size given all it can do. Even with the 16” screen, and all of the hardware, it still is rather slim, compact and light. It was a little surprising to me. With that, it is solid, sturdy, and feels built for long haul. As for looks, I “generally” love what they have done here. The “Stealth” name fits, and I typically want everything simple, clean, black, matte, and I guess some would say plain and boring. That is mostly what they did here, and it is “almost” perfect for me (more on that in a bit). Additionally, there are a couple of other hardware and “quality of life” things that I have come to like. First, I really like the full keyboard and the inclusion of the num pad. I know some may think it is unnecessary, but for those life things I do, the num pad is just a great add. As a whole (other than aesthetically) I really like the keyboard. Travel is nice, as is the spacing, and it just “feels good” to use. The backlighting (and RBG) works well. Second, a fairly good webcam that includes a physical privacy cover. A cam is essential these days, and the cover is so simple, more should do this. Third, a fingerprint sensor. Fourth, the rare these days ethernet port. Sure, I will probably be wireless most of the time, but again, as a gaming machine, sometimes being plugged in is the way to go. Lastly, some good battery life. Of course this will really be use dependent, but given what it is, and how it used, but I have been pleased so far. All in all, I think they have made some good choices when putting this all together. That said, there are also a few things that I wish were different. Maybe I have been spoiled lately, but the first thing is the charging brick. It is indeed a brick. It is a bit of a letdown and certainly takes away from its portability. Along similar lines is the port choices. While I do give them credit for the ethernet port (and the HDMI), and the 2 USB-A, only having 1 USB-C port seems criminal on a machine like this. This one is more of a personal gripe, and yes, it is a gaming machine, but I wish keyboard font was more “normal” and less “gamery.” This laptop is a powerhouse and given its rather muted overall look, it could fit in just a little bit better in a professional setting were it not for that (and maybe the logo). That said, these are mostly minor digs, and don’t really take away from all that this laptop is…but they were so close to a near-perfect machine for me. Ultimately though, this is a fantastic machine, and I really like it. Well-built, extremely powerful, with some nice adds, and it looks good. As they say, it checks all of the boxes. As always, check your use case, but I think this would work for just about everyone, not just gamers and is great for both power as well as everyday needs. Given all you get, I think there is real value here.

Awful for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For as much as I paid for this, I expected it to function well. I've had it for just over 2 weeks, and I'll likely be returning it. The built in keyboard illumination stopped working. Each time I power on the computer, 5 random keys light up. The built in microphone quit, doesn't even show up. I've tried reinstalling the software and nothing changes. The only support I've found for these issues is to do a factory reset. MSI hasn't responded to any of my support tickets. If the software issues were fixed, it would be a great laptop. It runs nice and cool, the graphics are great, and it's a good weight/size.

Gamers - Only Better Option is a Desktop Build
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boyfriend is a major gamer and this is the best gaming laptop he’s ever used. Probably next best thing to a desktop PC. Graphics are great, VRAM and all is amazing. Plays his games and mine very well. Will definitely be recommending MSI to others who don’t have the space for a desktop setup, like us at the moment. The first one sent was a lemon, but Best Buy gave us no issues with exchanging it.
