I've been using 2 in 1s for years and this is hands down the best and most drastic improvement, my old one was the Lenova Yoga, good machine, great quality until you compare it to the MSI. The 12th gen processor is twice the speed but never gets more than warm to the touch unless your doing some gaming. The 3050 far outpaces the 1050ti as well, neither will play well at QHD resolution without some compromises, but you wont be missing much with the MSI even with games like Far Cry 5...and again at temperatures that dont make it uncomfortable to have in your lap.
The pen is about the only downside, it doesnt dock with laptop and has to be charged via usb c cable. But as far as usablilty and comfort its about average.
The Thundebolt 4 is definitely a big plus, typically for this kind of performance youre looking at a 130 to 175 watt power supply, but this thing only needs 100watts, and actually works well with a 65watt hub I have for another setup, unless you try to game...it still works, it just throttles down the performance.
Oh one area that the yoga does do better is sound, but im not sure you could get the yogas speakers in this much thinner case.
It operates ok on battery, but like all laptops it does better off of external power, and its very seldom I dont have access to that. Keep in mind, if you need to you can easily power this off a portable battery pack as well, i tried it off the Anker i use for traveling and again did quite well.
For work besides the normal stuff, I'm contantly haveing multiple sets of blueprints open, which can even big down a decent desktop, but sofar this little guy hasnt disapointed me or had me waiting for pages to load. (I did switch out the ssd to to a 2tb 980 after i made sure it worked properly from the factory) the factory ssd beched a bit slower than the samsung, but size was the primary reason for the change. All in all, I dont think you can get a better 2in1 for the money, Prime days just ended and I still couldnt find anything comparable that made me even remotly regret purchasing this machine.
I would recommend this to a friend

My son picked out this laptop. I love it. The functionality of the unit is great. No need for extra virus protection as it’s built into the system. It’s sturdy and the clarity on the screen is spectacular.
