Just couldn’t play VR games with Oculus Quest 2

Nice gaming computer but unfortunately it just didn’t work for VR with the Oculus Quest 2 and the Steam website games. It just wasn’t compatible even after setting were changed. I literally spent a whole day changing cables, changing settings, trying Air link etc… I wanted to keep this laptop so badly especially after the Black Friday price but it was a no go. Not sure if it has something to do with the 3050 ti graphics card although I’m sure it’s more than powerful enough. I ended up upgrading to the ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14 with a 3060 graphics card and the Oculus connected with no issues. So far we’re able to play all VR games on steam. Hope it helps.

I do really like this laptop, looks nice, keyboard is amazing, screen is great, and everything runs amazing. It’s a bit too gamer looking and looks a bit tacky but I think it’s not too bad. The only thing is that the battery life is horrible, it does within 2 and a half hours depending on what I’m doing. On low performance and battery mode then maybe you can squeak in 3 hours but this is horrible for everyday use. While gaming at home this is amazing but if you want a laptop for gaming on the go then look elsewhere

it came it perfect and the quality is great, however the battery dies really quick even though you’re not in a game. i usually get on my laptop while its charging since it’ll lag sometimes if not plugged in. the ram could be better but other than that and the battery, everything else is fine

My sister loves this new laptop. I added 8GB of Ram and add a 2.5 SSD of 1TB. It can handle most games that you want it to.

Graphics and sound are GREAT. Whether gaming, streaming videos, watching movies, shows or listening to music. You can change the sound depending on what you're doing and the quality can't be beat. I'm VERY picky about sound, because I'm hard of hearing and I actually have to turn it down. Lol. I use Samsung Bluetooth speaker, Beats Studio wireless headphones and even the regular speakers are good.

Great laptop, only notes is to make sure to increase ram to at least 32 gb if you want to see how great the processor really is. Also, be careful with the screws on the back panel, they strip easily. Apart from this, outstanding purchase.

The laptop is very good on the performance side but the build of the laptop is where the problems start to show themselves. MSI as a company isnt that great they have the worst design flaws i have seen in a laptop in a long time. The hinge inside of the laptop the part that makes it go up and down was overly tight and i started to notice a crack on the plastic casing. well after a few more weeks the crack became super noticeable to the point where i cant even close the laptop anymore even opening it more is a big risk because one wrong move and that laptop is as good as gone. I would say get a acer or asus gaming laptop but i would stay clear of MSI

I was unsure about the 3050ti until I tried this thing, has been able to run everything I've thrown at it always over 60fps. The refresh rate is fantastic and the 11th gen core 7 functions as you'd expect.

I love this laptop. I'm a photographer that needed a computer that could run Lightroom Classic with no problems. This computer accomplishes that. My only complaint is the 512gig hard drive fills up fast when I upload a lot of .raw files from a busy gig. If you need a lot of storage I suggest an external hard drive.

I purchased this as a replacement for my stapdaughter's dying Dell. She wanted a "gaming laptop" but didn't want the ridiculous color scheme and logos. This fit that bill perfectly, and I agreed that she needed something capable of running graphic intense software for her college studies (3D modeling can overwhelm most integrated graphics processors quickly). It was a no-brainer at the price, especially considering that it came with two SODIMM DRAM slots (the ROG she looked at originally had Slot 0 occupied by permanently soldered LPDDR4). I ordered a pair of Crucial Ballistix (Mircon is THE BEST) 16GB DDR4 sticks and she was able to install them and set XMP1 memory profile for the advertised 3200MHz speed with no trouble. Biggest problem is getting her college's IT department to allow her new IP onto the network on a weekend! The only thing it needs now are a couple SSDs... this DOES HAVE a 2.5" mounting location and SATA interface, but you will need to find the right bracket and cable to put in a second internal drive.

This is differently a budget friendly laptop however because MSI had to but corners somewhere the external hardware materials suffer such as the plastic body and case, the hinges and the screen. The screen is flimsy and the hinges are cheap and weak. The screen just falls over and wobbleswobbles. I also hate the dragon logo ontop instead of the MSI lettering, it looks immature and childish. The laptop itself is not sleek and/or stylish and looks like a toytoy. It doesn't look like it will age well in regards to appearance and stand the test of time. It fires however as previously stated have amazing internals and specs that make it awesome if you can get over is cheap childlike design. I however needed something more stylish and adult with the same specs and was able to find that in several other laptops in this budget range.

Really great laptop for the price! Not a whole lot of space or RAM though, I recommend aiming for something that has slightly more of each, as the laptop often struggles with multiple programs running at once. Gaming, however, works very well on this laptop and is incredible for a mobile GPU and CPU combination. It maxes out most games from 2013-2018, but more modern releases may struggle rendering above high settings if you intend to use the native display resolution. Otherwise, outputting to 1080p allows you to run most games at higher frame rates and graphical settings.
