Both the one I bought and then the warranty replacement that Muggo sent me did the same thing. Cap is difficult to drink through, and the temp control buttons are flaky as well. This is a poorly-designed product. Go with the Ember heated mugs instead. They are excellent.

Mainly bought this because it was on sale and price on clearance couldn't be beat vs Ember. I wanted a travel mug that could fit the drink holder in the car and keep it warm. Not hot for sure but warm enough that I could still enjoy my coffee while on commute

The battery is garbage. Needs to stay plugged in always. Drinking out of the mug is not easy as the flow is slow or too fast. It does seal though.
