    Powerful but lacking

Lets start wit the good: * The main trimmer body feels very solid in hand. * You can use this in the shower. * Excellent battery life. * Quicker charge time than others I have owned. * Very powerful with a turbo for thicker hair. * Body trimmer comb is a closed design, probably the best for general use. * 4 interchangeable blade heads. Only 3 are usable: trimmer head for use with comb attachments, trimmer head for edging and the nose trimmer/fine/delicate area trimmer. * Switching trimmer heads is a easy twist design. * Attachment bag is large enough to hold quite a few other personal items and is not designed only for the trimmer. The Bad: * Trimmer does not work while plugged in to the wall. * Comb attachments feel flimsy like they may break easily. * Settings for hair length for combs match no other trimmer I have ever used. * Trimmer combs do not give a consistent length, especially on chin or any curved area. * The "razor" attachment, doesn't work very well for a stubble look nor a clean shave. You end up looking like you have mange. * Beard trimmer comb and the Head trimmer comb are open ended and will only work one direction. The open ended design makes for an uneven cut unless you can keep the comb at a consistent angle, which is almost impossible. Overall the trimmer is powerful and long lasting but it will not work while plugged in. I give it a better score because i have clip on combs from another trimmer that work perfectly on the trimmer head. Not everyone will have the same attachments I already had stored in my drawer, but this is my rating. Changing trimmer heads is easy as a twist. They lock in place very securely. The combs are flimsy for beard and hair. I can't imaging they will survive a drop in the shower. They also do not give me a consistent cut. A better design for the combs and this easily could have been a 5 star trimmer. But considering the combs are half the purchase, I can't give it a great score. If you are looking for something for edging and not trimming. Excellent buy. If you are looking for an all around trimmer, hopefully you have combs that fit. My no recommendation for friends is based on if they have facial hair.

    Solid wet/dry body groomer

Let me get the biggest con out of the way, the 7400 does not have a vacuum integrated to minimize hairs going everywhere. However, the biggest plus is the fact that I can use the 7400 in the shower and on wet skin. Maybe the wet/dry use the 7400 provides is the reason there is no integrated vacuum. I fully charged the 7400 and put it to the stress test. My “stress test” included trimming my facial hair, trimming armpit hair, switching the trimmer to the body shaver to shave the armpit area in a dry and wet environment, switch heads to the trimmer and trim my lower stomach, switch heads to the body shaver and shave my lower stomach, then switch heads on last time and trim most of my lower body on a single charge. The trimmer head made short work of my facial hair and the included body hair comb was a great tool to trim leg hair. I have never used a trimmer with a shaving foil/body shaver but I tried it out and found the results to be great, especially when using it in the shower. I have never once shaved my armpit, but decided to give it a go with this groomer. No cuts or irritation and very smooth. I also used the body shaver to shave my lower stomach and was surprised to not get any irritation (every time I shave my lower stomach I get areas of irritation). Finally, I decided to use the body shaver on a small portion of my cheek and immediately found that my cheek was getting irritated. NOTE the manual states to ONLY the body shaver below your neck line but I wanted to try it anyway. After I was done with the 7400 I ran water over the heads I used, patted them dry with a towel, and put everything in the included leather pouch. Pros: Works on dry skin or wet skin Body shaver did not irritate skin Leather pouch keeps everything organized Any leftover hairs are contained in the leather pouch Feels sturdy in the hand Able to do a full body trim and shave on one charge Cons: No integrated vacuum (me being picky) Overall I would recommend you to try the 7400 as an overall body groomer due to the simple fact that it works in the shower and does a great job.

This Norelco is definitely an upgrade from my older model. It comes with more than enough attachments to complete a quick edge, haircut, shave, and yes even the dreaded nose hairs! It charges fast and holds a charge for at least a week with regular use. The turbo button is great for those stubborn or hard to get hair on your face. It does take some getting use to the guides though. My first time I tried to shape up my beard I shaved closer than expected! This thing really cuts hair great. A must have for those lazy days or just when you need a quick shave without all the other mess.

With a little tweaking this would be much better. Pros: Good run time - keeps the charge Nice attachments Can use wet or dry Can use on face, neck or short hair Nice case Cons: Loud Should have an angled attachment or angle guide; easy to nick yourself at an angle Too easy to hit the power switch when using Left stubble on face It did a nice hair trim but it works best with assistance to keep the angle correct. Worked well on short facial hair. The nose hair trimmer nicked inside of the nose. Worked okay on ear hairs.

I've used the trimmer for two weeks now for the most part it has been great. But I did have 2 complaints. First, the nose trimmer is almost impossible to use to trim nose hair. I tried several different angles and could never get it to trim nose hair. Second the clipper attachments seem to cut closer than indicated by the numbers on the back of the trimmer. I was easily able to remedy that by using a higher number, but it is something to be aware of when using. Overall I was pleased, it is very powerful, cuts clean and charges quickly.

pros: feels sturdy, well made waterproof - can use in the shower leather pouch included - big enough to use for toiletry bag tons of attachments for different hair types/location - easy to switch out quick charging/long lasting battery "turbo" speed for thicker hair relatively quiet compared to some other trimmers cons: none really. minor nitpick: some sort of attachment stand for the countertop would've been a nice touch, to make them more convenient to swap out and store. as is, I just keep them in the pouch if I don't need them. overall: very versatile, well made trimmer for a good price. highly recommended

    "No shave November" ends early.

Like many men in the GenX age group, Novemeber becomes a time to let one's facial hair go wild. Last year, when december 1st rolled around, the thought of shaving all that hair was painful (physically and mentally). Not this year. Thanks to the Norelco series 7400 shaver. What a difference this product made. Last year I was screaming, as my old shaver felt like it was pulling the hairs out one by one. Perhaps it wasn't powerful enough? No such screaming this time around. In fact, I can't think of one negative regarding this product. It even comes with a handy carrying case for all the attachments. More about that in a second. The shaver itself is sturdy, and feels comfortable even in my larger than normal hand. The "grip" is reassuring, as some other products are very easy to slip (and create a non-fixable shave error!). The on/off toggle is easy to utilize, but not easy to accidentally hit. There is also a "turbo" function for blasting through forests of stubble, and it does so very well. The battery life is also much longer than shavers that I have used in the past. The packaging states that the "advanced lithium ion battery lasts 60 minutes".One must have a lot of facial/body hair to need that. But, after a full charge, timing the battery output, I was surprised to find that the shaver ran for 75 minutes before it was obvious that the power began to dwindle. It completely stopped at 89 minutes. So roughly a "straight" hour and a half run time, cannot be beat! The different attachments are useful as well. The 7500 comes with the following: A nose trimmer (which also works great for those pesky ear hairs). A detail trimmer, perfect for shaping beard/goatee/sideburns. A body-groom head, which resembles the coiled electric shaver heads - works great under the arms. It leaves the skin feeling smooth. None of the annoying stubble under the arms that other products leave behind. Then there are three combs/shaver guards: A body comb (if one does not want to rid themselves of all body hair, but rather give it a trim) A stubble comb, to trim beards at the same length each and every time. And a hair comb, to trim the sides/around the ears. I must state I was not adventurous enough to test the hair comb, but because I'm a bit scared to do so - i'm sure it works just fine. Another cool feature, is the blades on this device use "self sharpening blade technology" which ensures that your 100th, 1000th, ???? shave/trim is just as great as your first. Obviously, I am unable to test that claim with this being a new device in my arsenal. Perhaps the coolest thing about this, is that it is completely shower proof! Using it in the shower is probably the easiest and cleanest way to use the device. At first, while I kept thinking Electrical device+water=bad news --- It truly is perfectly safe. Get it! You won't be disappointed!

Good *Works wet and dry. Much easier to clean up hair trimmings in the shower than on the sink counter. *Good blades. Nice and sharp, cuts hair well, whether coarse or fine. *Multiple attachments and guards. You can usually find something that works best for trimming any part of your body. *Adjustable guard length. *Two speed. Turbo mode makes it easier to get through difficult hair patches ( can happen on both thick and thin hair ). *Quiet. Used this to trim my 1 yr-old's hair and it didn't bother him near as much as noisier clippers. *Storage case. Decent bag to hold the trimmer, cord, and attachments. Bad *Shaver attachment. If this is meant to be used for your daily shave, it doesn't shave very close and the cut stubble doesn't get captured ( meaning it will fall on the floor, counter, etc ). *Body trimming guard. The guard labeled for body grooming is curved everywhere, even the leading edge, so it has a tendency to flatten hair down rather than lift it up into the blades. If you want this to trim your chest and underarms, the hair trimming guard works much better. *Beard guard seems pointless. The guard combs sit behind the cutting edge, making consistent trim length more difficult. *No cleaning brush included. Maybe with the wet/dry they expect you to always rinse it out, but you don't get a brush for thorough cleaning. *No pockets in storage case. With a trimmer, three attachments, three guards, and charging cord, it'd be better if the storage case had dividers or pockets to keep things organized. Overall It's a nice all around trimmer. Battery operated means you don't have a cord dragging over the counter or into the tub. Wet/dry operation is a nice bonus for trimming in the shower. The hair guard works well enough to be used for most tasks, even if the other two aren't very helpful. And you get a bag to keep everything in. Would make a good travel groom kit and handy to have around the house. A little overpriced, in my opinion. $50 - $60 seems a fair price for this, but $70 is a bit steep.

Trims the beard and hair, but that’s it, and not so great at that. Guides seem under devolved, poorly designed bc it’s not easy to shave a consistent length. Trimmer width is small, charge does not last long, and trimmings get wedged easily between trimmer head and body. Messy to clean.

Philips Norelco - Multigroom Series 7400 Wet/dry Trimmer Right out of the bubble-pack you can sense that this all-body trimmer is a nice quality, medium heft, tool. After charging, it turns on with an easy-to-locate power control, emits a low hum and give minimal vibration. You’re unlikely to wake anyone in the next room. There is a “power boost” below the power button, which stays in that mode until turned off, and adds very little extra noise. The 6 attachments may all prove useful for someone. Having multiple tools in one bag makes life simpler (or maybe not). I generally only care about the nose/ear trimmer and detail trimmer. The nose trimmer is a bit different from my usual device. Rather than rotary cutter at the very tip, it has a side mounted vibrating cutter, embedded almost 1/4” from the tip. I’ve got some more testing to do, but it seemed to be very effective, even if placement required more attention. The detail trimmer is easier to use than trimmers on the back side of typical shavers and you will feel more confident using it on a mustache or to finish a hair cut. I felt like a barber, precisely trimming sideburns and mustache. The shaving foil seemed too small, but for body grooming that may be a benefit. The various hair cutting attachments all fit snugly on the shaver body and smoothly slide into various setting positions for hair length. You’ll want to see if the width makes sense for your intended use.. There is a nice, flexible leatherette carrying case for travel or storage. There are no separating pockets so attachments are able to jostle and rattle together, especially when packed into luggage. You’re going to have to be cautious because attachments are all plastic and the metal foil cutter is unprotected. I liked the Norelco quite a bit and I’m going to spend some time expanding my grooming repertoire. Norelco calls this a wet or dry tool so I’ve got some more testing to do.

    Great multi-shaver

I had previously used Philips Norelco products before, and have been satisfied. This particular shaver has options for trimming facial hair, sideburns, nose hair, body hair—pretty much everything. I usually trim my beard to 3mm, and I find that I'm still getting used to the beard comb, as you need to angle it just right to make sure the blade doesn't directly touch your skin (unless you're trying to remove your facial hair, entirely). A few times, I've goofed up and shaved my beard more than I wanted to, so I ended up going baby-faced for a little while. The nose hair trimmer, I think needs some work. It doesn't seem as effective to me, even compared to lower-end Norelco models. But it isn't horrible. It just seems to take a bit more work and navigation to get a thorough trim. The body shaver does a great job at trimming body hair (e.g. armpits, chest, etc.). Just be sure to be gentle! Philips recommends shaving slowly, but their turbo mode can definitely lend to fewer iterations across the same area. Either way, don't rush it. Philips has better products for your under-regions, but you can get away with using this—just take my warning and be careful. Otherwise, you may cut yourself down there! As for the wet/dry functionality, it is designed to work in the shower, if that's how you shave. Obviously, don't submerge it in a bath or something like that. But if you're going to get it splashed with water, that's totally fine. I personally shave while dry so that hair doesn't clump and stick to my skin. As for battery life, it's been great! Other shavers I'm lucky to get 20 minutes out of—a few uses and I have to recharge. But this Norelco, I'm able to get more use out of one charge. I don't shave daily since I maintain a beard, so this lasts a lot longer for me. Overall, a few setbacks, but still a great multi-use product.

To be fair let me start by saying i received this product free of charge for a honest review. I keep a well groomed beard/mustache combo so to try out a shaver/groomer is something i look forward to giving an honest review as i use these frequently. This item is great. It charges in about an hour, so if you happen to need it and it dies because you forgot to charge it, luckily it will only take a short amount of time versus other shavers that take 4+ hours to get back to a full charge. Also, being waterproof is a plus. I do not shave in the shower, but for alot of people who do, this will help you speed up your daily routine by bringing this directly in with you. It also advertises itself as a body hair trimmer. While i have no use for that, with the amount of attachments it has (8!), i am positive this has something for everyone to be happy. Which leads me to my only gripe, and why i did not give a full 5 star rating. The number of attachments. 8! Yes, 8!. While the manufacturer did their due diligence to try and cover all basis of what this trimmer would be used for, i feel it is it's only downfall as it has made shopping for a trimmer complicated and overwhelming. If i was shopping for this item, and saw all the attachments, i would think "wow that's alot, and i do not know what each thing is for, all i want is something to shave my face". Maybe cutting down the attachments to 4 or less, and having a brief description of each one right on the package for easy reading in store to help speed up a purchase would help. Overall if you don't mind reading the instructions to see what each attachment does, or you are looking for something with as many possibilities as possible, then this is your shaver! It has alot of positives as well overall.

I received this trimmer for free to review. I really wanted to like this trimmer. The negatives I found in it outweighed the positives though. The battery life is great. Using it with water is great. The packaging and included accessory bag are great. The location of the power and turbo button are not great. I kept pressing them while trying to use the trimmer. Maybe add a button delay to avoid this? The attachment adjustments I found to be just to difficult to change for my liking; especially going from 5 to 1. I was also afraid that I might accidentally change the setting while using the trimmer. There was no brush that came with it and hair kept building up in between the guard and the blade to where I had to stop every so often to change the setting to allow the hair to fall away. Finally, it would be nice to have the option to use the trimmer while plugged in. If I happened to run out of battery while shaving/trimming, I wouldn't want to wait for the trimmer to recharge enough for me to finish. I am in the military and keep my hair very short and shave my face nearly every day. I was hoping this trimmer might have been able to keep my haircut fresh, trimmed my nose and eye hair, provide another option for shaving, and perform other routine maintenance from one device. In my opinion this device doesn't meet that requirement.

So far, so good. This trimmer comes with multiple accessories and packs away in a nice travel bag. I love the different sized guards and the small brush that it comes with. The rechargeable battery is a plus as well. The device stays charged for a decent amount of time and it charges pretty fast, so you could leave it plugged while you sleep and have a charge that lasts. I am not sure how long because I don't use it all the time but recharging is great. It has a plug instead of a charging station but it is for travel, so that's okay for me.

Ok, first off, I dont recommend you do this but I figured I would try it. I did not open the instruction booklet at all, instead I wanted to see how well this would work and how easy it was to set up and use without any guidance at all. Obviously its not a complicated piece of machinery but still wanted to see how user friendly it is. Taking it out of the box proved easy enough, I charged it overnight for the first charge. Then I went ahead and used EVERY single attachment. First thing I noticed was how easy it was taking one piece off and putting another just by a simple twist of the head. Also I loved the little symbol that explained what each was to be used for. Kinda funny too but helpful for someone that did not bother with reading the instructions. There was a symbol in one that looked like someones head/hair which meant that that attachment was to be used for trimming hair, another showed the body etc etc. I also loved the fake leather carrying case that fit everything easily. The one thing I wish it had was some form of brush besides just the lubricating oil. How did it perform? Awesome really. I was able to trim my hair (Which was a leap of faith in case it did not work well), get rid of any other hair (nose, armpit etc) and all worked great and without a problem at all. I have not tried this in the shower or tested the waterproof aspect of it yet but I got to say i was very pleased so far.

The Philips Norelco 7400 trimmer is a handy little device. It works as a beard/hair/mustache trimmer with combs of different lengths. It also has an attachment that will serve as an ear or nose hair trimmer. And it has an attachment that works as an electric shaver. Of course, as a shaver, this little guy lacks punch and feels a bit rough on the skin. It's not good enough to be your every day shaver, but it will work in a pinch from time to time, if necessary. OTOH, it does an excellent job as a trimmer. The unit is nicely balanced. The attachments are easy to swap out. It holds a charge for quite a bit of use (it charges quickly and mine hasn't died yet despite several days of use, so I'm not sure how long the battery lasts). It can be used dry or wet, which is a huge plus for a trimmer in this category. It also has a more intense turbo speed option that comes in quite handy.. And, to top it all off, it comes with a nice, oversized storage/carry pouch that just may become my new travel bag.

This is a really nice grooming device for anybody that is in the market for one. The trimmer arrived with a completely drained battery, so this allowed me to really test and see if it truly completely charged in an hour. To my surprise, the battery was fully charged in a little less then an hour, so that was great. I was expecting the trimmer to be a bit noisy like some of the others on the market, but to my surprise, it wasn't. Even on the "Turbo" setting it is still at a relatively low noise setting. The trimmer comes with multiple attachments to get the job done faster. I have truly eliminated my scissors, and enjoy using this trimmer. One thing that I do not like is the fact that the connection for the attachments are plastic, and I worry that they will break in the near future. I'm not sure how long they'll last, but I hope to get good use of these attachments, and the device, for a long time. Something else that I wish would be supplied is a better carrying case. It comes with a small bag, but I just hate having to dig through it to find a simple attachment. This can be remedied with a quick purchase over at Amazon. I've seen some really nice carrying cases at a really good price. In all, if you are in the market for a nice grooming tool, I would recommend the Philips Norelco - Multigroom Series 7400 device. The knifes are really sharp and quick to cut. You can get the job done in no time.
