Customers consistently note the Multigroom Series 7400's excellent battery life and ease of use, along with its waterproof design and useful attachments. Many appreciate its power and water resistance, finding it convenient for showering. However, some users found the trimming performance inconsistent and the body shaver less effective than expected for a close shave.

A Waterproof Groomer and Trimmer for the Shower

The best feature of this groomer is that it is waterproof. The body groomer attachment worked well for shaving short leg hair in the bath by the ladies of the house. They used it with shaving gel or conditioner and preferred it over using a razor. I have used various attachments in the shower to trim various body hair down to shorter lengths. It works well. I find a dedicated nose and ear trimmer to be more useful than attachment provided here for that purpose.

This multi groom tool is replacing an off brand trimmer/groomer. I have a Norelco quadra action which I bought almost a decade ago and it still works, holds a charge even. I probably won't use all 7 attachments but I did use the detail and guard trimmer prior to writing this. Pretty happy with the cut. I did see that it is shower proof so thats a plus. Worth it rather than cheaper brands that will last you one or maybe two years. I forgot theres a 2 year warranty plus 6 additional months if you register it online. I think it is a good deal!

    Product better than the instructions

It is a shame that a product is tainted by its support instructions. I say this because the instructions on how to use this, my first ever purchase of a grooming device that was not a straight on facial hair shaver, were some of the worst I've ever encountered. The instructions are printed on very thin paper - folded up into a miniature version of an old-fashioned road map. Once you unfold this non-english centric language morass it is over two feet wide! The dominant and first viewed side is not english - you have to unfold and essentially flip over to find the english side. The print is tiny. Inside the dreadful clear plastic container in which the product is shipped are also bits and attachments that you are supposed to be able to use for the "groomer". Intuitively I figured out what the plastic ones were for. The other ones with other heads - I have no idea where they go. To use this, you will need to charge. I did a 15 minute one to use the first time. It worked fine in the shower with nothing else attached. I trimmed sideburns and shaved my neck. The device is nicely weighted and is very good. Eventually I will learn to use the other attachments, but this should have had instructions in a booklet that was written in english first so that it could be used effectively. It is a darn shame when an otherwise good product is ruined by its support, but this is what you get when a company is lazy and doesn't care about you actually using what they make. This product is worth buying. Just be prepared for a learning curve as you fight to unfold and refold these horrible instructions. And don't even think of touching that paper with wet fingers - it is not far removed from cheap newsprint.

I have an older Norelco groomer that I have been using for years. I charged this one up and used it for the first time tonight. I was very pleasantly surprised. The lowest position gave me a fairly close shave and the adjustable attachment gave me a nice even trim. It took very little time to shape things up with a nice and even trim. One attachment worked nicely for sideburns as well. If you have an older model, you will be impressed with the power of this model. I will likely give these out for gifts in near future.

This trimmer came with some quality grooming attachments and is a true multitasker. Heck, the trimmer itself is pretty high quality. I'm very impressed with this trimmer given the ones tried previously. I also haven't had any issues using it in the shower. I'd been hesitant to do it given all things that claim they can be used in shower...really can't but this one passed the test. I'd highly recommend anyone giving this one a shot. You get what you pay for. I've tossed the other trimmers I have. Great job Phillips!

I received the Norelco Multigroom Series Trimmer at no cost in exchange for an honest review. I have to say based on first impression, I'm pleased. I have owned Philips Norelco products in the past and they have always been extremely reliable and durable for me even with daily use. This trimmer comes with the following: Metal trimmer, smaller trimmer, Nose/Ear trimmer, body trimmer clip, beard/mustache clip, & hair trimmer clip, & standard skin shaving clip. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with a leather-type bag. I think it may be synthetic leather or something but either way, it's soft and can fit all the accessories. Also, it came with lubricating oil. The handle is super easy to use because you can just twist the attachments on and off. The handle has a "turbo" setting that allows speeds up the motor for faster shaves. This trimmer can be used wet or dry so if you like to shave in the shower, no problem there. The trimmer comes with detailed instructions and easy to follow pictures in case you are not used to using electric trimmers. As far as shaving goes, the different clips that attach to the metal trimmer piece are adjustable in length which can provide you with a very precise shave down to the millimeter. If you like your chest hair at 4 millimeters but your beard at 3mm, this is the trimmer for you. I used the nose hair trimmer for the first time and boy did it tickle. I really don't have much nose hair but I thought "hey, why not?!" I'm sure as I get older I'll be trimming those unwanted hair follicles but for now I think I'm safe. Lastly, the trimmer comes with a built-in lithium battery which provides up to 60 minutes of non stop trim action when fully charged. With 10 mins to go, the battery light will blink so that you can finish up your trim. If your battery is dead and you plug it in for 5 mins, you will get 5 mins of shave and so forth. However, it's impressive that it only takes 60 minutes for a full charge! I recommend this trimmer and I believe it's one of those that will last a long long time!

    Nice Manscaper

I’ve owned several less expensive trimmers over the years that have performed okay. This trimmer is the most expensive I’ve used, but it also seems you get what you pay for in this case. This trimmer definitely does the job. First, the fact that it’s waterproof is a nice advantage. Even though I doubt I’ll use it in the shower, being able to run the blades and attachments under the faucet to clean them is very handy. It’s also one less worry if you happen to drop it in the sink (or your cat “helps” it into the sink). Next, it’s very easy to change out the various trimmer heads which is something I’ll probably be doing quite a bit. The various comb guides also have very precise length adjustments. Even though I’m not sure I’ll really need to adjust the stubble comb between 1 and 12mm, I guess it’s nice to have that option. I was very impressed with the nose/ear hair trimmer attachment. That was always a weak area with my other trimmers, but this one works extremely well and didn’t accidentally pull any hairs. Finally, the 2-year warranty is a nice touch and gives me confidence that it’s probably well-built. If you register the trimmer, Norelco gives you an extra 6 months for a 2.5 year warranty. I only found a couple of minor downsides. The instruction booklet was not the best. The pictures were almost too small to be helpful, and when a large sheet is map folded like this it becomes irritating to unfold/refold. A color quick reference card might have been nice. But, really, once you’ve used it a couple of times you don’t need the instructions any more anyway. The other minor issue was discovering in the instructions that they recommend replacing the body shaver head yearly. I’m not sure how much expense that will add, but I was a little surprised that’s needed. On the other hand, it says to only use that “below the neckline” so I’m not sure how much I’ll be using it anyway. Just based on how well the main trimmer, detail trimmer, and the nose/ear hair trimmer all work I’d highly recommend this if you’re looking for a new manscaping tool.

This is an easy to use shaver that saves a lot of time and mess. As others mentioned, being able to use the shaver in the shower is a big plus. Avoid shavers that aren't waterproof, it's an awesome feature to have! Additionally, this shaver comes with 6 different attachments that give it a lot of versatility. It has a hair comb, stubble comb, body comb, bodygroom shaver, detail trimmer, and nose hair trimmer. Just pop on whichever attachment you need and you're good to go. Simple to use and effective!

From the pictures and descriptions I saw for this online, it looked perfect for a guy who wanted to keep his scruffy face under control. You can actually shave pretty cleanly in addition to trimming nose hair and using the different lengthed combs. Now, I will say that the clean-shaven attachment is not as comfortable as the rotary head version of shavers, but from an all-in-one device perspective, this works very well.

    A very capable groomer

This is a very capable groomer -- with all of the included attachments, its lithium-ion rechargeable battery, and the fact that it's waterproof, it should be able to handle any grooming job you need done. It can certainly do more than I've asked of it -- supposedly I could cut my own hair with it, but that's beyond what I'm willing to try. I've used the same barber for around 30 years, and I could just see the look on his face if I walked in with a self-made mess on my head. Otherwise, it has been quite competent for my needs. I have to laugh every time I use the nose hair trimmer -- I figure that I must be using "the most powerful nose hair trimmer on the planet." But, of course, that's just one of the many grooming jobs it can do. I have one main "con" to mention about this thing -- but I don't think it's worth deducting any stars from my rating. Mainly, the instructions are pretty awful. About half of the instructions are in writing, and the other half are in tiny little, low-resolution pictures. I'm usually of the opinion that a few words can help those typical instructions pictures tremendously, but once again, we just have to sit there and try to figure out what they're trying to tell us to do. I went to their web site looking for more information, but they just had the same instructions in PDF format. This is a product that a lot of online videos would really help -- how do you position the groomer to angle it properly to use the different attachments, and such matters would be easily demonstrated in some quick videos, but they didn't have anything like that. However, I found lots of videos on YouTube that showed me how to do a lot of things with the groomer, so that sufficed very well. In the end, I figure that most folks will figure out how to use the groomer in a few minutes on the first day, so that's not worth deducting a star from my overall rating. And otherwise, it's hard to find a tool such as this that can do so many grooming jobs so well.

A Solid Shaver that Works on Wet Hair

I didn't really know what to expect when I received this product; it's a small, sleek shaver that claims to be waterproof and work in the shower. Well, to my surprise, it truly did workout for me. I don't have a beard for the ages by any means, but I do like the ability to shave my face in the shower with the press of the button. The shaver comes with 8 attachments and it seems to be enough to potentially tackle many different styles of facial hair out there. No gripes from me.

I have been using an older trimmer kit for years so this was a nice upgrade. The unit is very powerful and has plenty of attachments. I am also pleasantly surprised by just how powerful the unit is. It can power through tough beards in a jiffy! The battery holds a charge well and doesn't have to be charged that often. Maybe every couple of weeks for myself. These would make a great gift for an older gentleman still using one of the old trimmers (like I was!).

I feel you get a lot for very little in this package. Comes with lots of attachments to keep every beard/hair length happy. The trimmer it self is very powerful and cuts with out bogging down at all. Even when using it in the shower. Looks stylish and feels good in your hand. Charges fast and has a long battery life. I was surprised how close you could cut with this unit. At this price point you can't go wrong. I would recommend this trimmer to any one.

I still use this trimmer today. It works well, and I've had absolutely no issues with it. I'm fairly certain I wrote a review on it at least 5 years ago, but the site is asking for another one. I'm actually surprised I got it that long ago. Still works well, and I've had no issues with charging.

I wasn't overly in love with this trimmer, but that said, I didn't dislike it either. It's just a pretty average to above average trimmer in my book. The ability to use it in the shower is a plus. It comes with several attachments which serve different purposes and a nice shaving pouch to store it all. It seems to charge quickly and the charge seems to last a good long while.

I travel extensively for work and have used earlier Philips Norelco multi-groom trimmers while on the road, this one will definitely be along with me for upcoming trips. While other reviewers have criticized the number of attachments that accompany this trimmer I personally like the versatility they provide. This is definitely an upgrade from the earlier model I used before.

I got this not having very high expectations but I have tried it out with all accessories and it worked well. Its not great or more than I expected. I like the way the different heads attach with a simple twist. This is great, and so is the fact that you can get it wet to rinse it off. I'm not sure I would use it in the shower though. Be careful on uneven skin or loose skin as you can get cut. The device itself is very light weight which is good but it feels a little cheap. It is however constructed. I have no idea about battery life but I did use it without issues for at least 30 minutes and it did not slow down. A couple things I didn't like is that each shave head has a lot of grease inside and hairs can get inside the heads as well. Even after rinsing with just plain water some hairs remain stuck in grease. This did not impact performance but I just don't like that. Overall it shaves well and works well on face and body. It is waterproof but difficult to get completely clean. More pros than cons hence three star rating.

This product is just about everything you need to trim any body area. Its rechargeable and cordless. Good battery life. Comes with multiple attachments that allow you to trim different areas of your body. The battery life of this product is good, it can vary depending on what you are using it for. For beard edging, cleanup lines, and other lighter uses it will last over the stated 60minutes. If you are cutting hair, trimming a thick beard, etc it will need to be recharged sooner. It should definitely make it through a full grooming/trimming session. The only downside is that you cannot use it while plugged in. The blade is sharp so it will not pull hair as many cheaper units do. It has a self-sharpening blade, so I hope this will allow it to last much longer than my previous trimmer for an competing company. The attachments allow for custom trimming depending on the shaving area. The attachments allow help adjust settings so you can get the perfect cut. The attachments make it so you can cut your hair to your preferred length and style. I would prefer better adjustment settings, but they do what they are supposed to. More flexibility for trimming hair, more precision for beards/facial hair, and more safety for sensitive/delicate areas. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

Good combination unit for men with lots of hair

First, let me say that this is a well designed hair trimming system, but if you only need your neck trimmed once in a while or your sideburns trimmed, this system is overkill for you. The Philips Norelco - Multigroom Series 7400 Wet/dry Trimmer With 3 Guide Combs is for the guy with a beard, mustache or body hair that needs regular cutting. You can even use it in the shower. It can be used to keep that "I slept in a boxcar overnight" look going since you can keep your beard stubble trimmed to whatever length you think looks adorable on you. The three guide combs that come with it affix firmly over the cutting head (there are a total of four cutting heads for different jobs), and each guide is adjustable for length of hair you want left whether on your head, face or body. The guides are of plastic and will become damaged if not handled properly. Phillips Norelco should make the guides of more durable material. If you take care of them, you'll be OK, but if you're not too particular you may end of breaking one. It charges in about an hour and will run a good while before needing to charge. Overall, this is a good trimming system, but for many men it will be too much. If all you need is something to shape your sideburns or trim your neck, something simpler will suit you better.
