    Best tablet for kids

The nabi 2 is easily the best tablet for kids available today. The hardware inside puts it at or above the level of most 7 inch tablets, as it features many similar components as those found within Google's Nexus 7. There is much to cover for why I love this tablet, but let's get the bad out of the way first: you will not be able to access Google Play. For some people, this is a deal-killer, but I must say that in using it, I can't say I've found the lack of access to be a problem. Amazon's app store can always be installed if you want a broader range of apps, but I've only used it to install a Reddit app and a Netflix app to use when we parents use our son's nabi after bedtime. The nabi has its own app store, which I would consider to be a strength. The app store UI is attractive and easy to use, with apps organized by type (Entertainment, Creativity, Games, etc) and age. Apps that make it into the nabi app store have been examined by the nabi team to ensure safety for young users, which often results in the removal of clickable advertisements. The tablet comes with an excellent chore management tool. Parents can buy currency and set up chores for their child to do. When the child completes the chore(s), they will receive a portion of currency based on the complexity of the chore, as indicated by parents. This can then be used to unlock downloadable content for their games or install full games. The nabi 2 also comes with learning tools, including flash card games, mini lessons, math pages to complete, and more. For younger kids, dozens of books come preloaded, each with an option to be read by professional voice actors in a variety of languages. More books are available for free or purchase on nabi's app store. There are also dozens of craft guides available for parents and kids to do together based on seasons of the year or holidays. The educational potential is great with this tablet. This tablet is built thicker than most grown up focused tablets, where thinner tablets are generally valued. By making it a bit thicker, and surrounding it with a rubber bumper, the nabi 2 is a very durable tablet that stands up well against heavy use. I would absolutely recommend the tablet without hesitation to any parent considering a tablet for their child ages 3 - 10. This is a device I am confident in handing to my young son because I know he will enjoy it, it will not break, and he will not be able to accidentally stumble upon inappropriate content.

    Blown Away!

I read a lot of reviews on all the tablets made for children. I hemmed and hawed, and wasn't sure what to do. I even considered just getting a regular tablet that isn't specifically made for children. I have an iPad and the kids use it all the time. I use it all the time (which is why I needed the Nabi 2). I ended up purchasing two Nabi 2s, one for each of my younger two children, and though they don't have them yet (they're Christmas gifts), my husband and I have been playing with them. First, I was leary about the Nabi 2 based on some reviews I'd read. I was worried about the available apps (wasn't fond that it didn't use the Google Play Store), the quality of the screen, setting the devices up, and overall functionality. I needed something that would look, feel, and act like an iPad because that's what my kids are used to. Well, set up was a breeze. Anyone who has issues should go to Nabi 2's website and read over there. It wasn't a lot of work by any means. I had both up and running in less than a forty-five minutes. I also had the Amazon App store installed and was downloding things I thougt the boys would like. Um, a note about the Amazon App store...Remember, I was worried about the Nabi 2 not using the Google Play Store. Well, I'm glad now that it doesn't! I love the Amazon App Store. Love, Love, Love it! My husband and I love it so much that we installed the Amazon Ap Store on our Samsung Galxy S3 phones. There's a free app each day (a free paid app -- not a free, normally free app). And, We only have to purchase apps once and can install them on all our devices. so we paid for Minecraft PE once and put it on everything. Love it. The first time my husband played with the Nabi 2, the first thing he said was, "Wow, the screen is vivid." I laughed because it was something I was worried about too. We figured a kid's tablet wouldn't be as nice as our iPad. But it is. It's very nice. Very vivid and clear. We spent hours playing on the Nabi 2s the other night and we felt guilty because our kids haven't even opened them for christmas yet and we're having fun with them--oops! I can't wait to get the chore lists set up and all of that fun stuff. We homeschool, so I'm going to incorporate their schoolwork in with their chore list... Oh, yeah, It's so nice having that Mommy/Daddy mode. It's easy to switch back and forth and it's also easy to tell which mode you're in. The ease of use for this thing is amazing. I thought (based on other reviews) that this thing would be confusing and hard to navigate, but I was wrong. the Nabi 2 is awesome. Best money I've spent this Christmas!

Best Kids Tablet and Customer Service EVER

In my opinion, the Nabi 2 is the best kids tablet available! A friendly reminder…this is a tablet and NOT a toy. It comes pre-loaded with an unbelievable amount of apps, books, songs, etc. It has plenty of games that kids of all ages (including adults) will enjoy and you can download more in Nabi’s App Zone. Not only is it fun, but it’s also educational. They have Fooz University that focuses on Math, Science, English & Social Studies for grades K-5th. It also rewards your child for a job well done by “earning” coins in those educational apps. The Chore Chart also gives your child the ability to “earn” coins which they can use to purchase games from the Treasure Box. It’s a pretty neat system and my daughter LOVES it. The “Nabi (Kids) Mode” is a safe environment for them to learn and play so there’s no worry that they’ll access something that maybe they shouldn’t. My daughter is 8 years old, but I’ve seen many parents with children much younger successfully use it and I, as an adult, LOVE playing on it in Mommy/Daddy mode. It’s is super fast and smooth. It has Skype on it which has been great for us because my mother has been working out of the country for several years…now, they can video chat with each other…it’s a great way to keep us connected. It’s completely customizable to whatever you want or do not want for your child to have access to and is a fully functioning android tablet in Mommy/Daddy mode. There is so much more that the Nabi 2 offers that I could write a book on the subject…both my daughter and I really LOVE the Nabi and can’t say enough good things about it. One last thing to mention, but certainly not the least…Nabi customer service is second to NONE! They are amazing and do anything in their power to make sure that we, as parents, are satisfied with their product. They have a facebook page that they update often as well as respond to comments…I would recommend that you visit there if you have any questions and/or just want to be a part of the growing community of Nabi owners. You will not regret your purchase…I know I don’t. https://www.facebook.com/nabitablet

    THE Best Tablet for Kids.

My son has been using his nabi for more than 1.5 years. He first got it as a present when he was 5 years old. When we travel, the nabi is an absolute necessity, actually I have to admit that we rarely leave the house without the nabi, even for short shopping trips. OUT OF THE BOX The nabi is ready to use right out of the box! Speaking of the box, when opening the nabi you know it is going to be a quality product. The packaging is impressive! Even more impressive is how easy it is to use the nabi just by powering it on. EASY TO USE It come preloaded with so many apps, games, music, videos, and books. If what is preloaded doesn't interest you child, it is simple to add other things that will hold their interest. If you are familiar with adding apps to your own tablet or phone, then you can add apps and such to the nabi with ease. EDUCATIONAL I can honestly say that my son's reading, writing and math skills have improved using the nabi. This year my son is using Raz-kids for school and he is able to complete the readings and assignments on the nabi! How awesome is that, he actually uses the nabi to complete his homework! SUPER SAFE His teach also gave a list of additional website that might be helpful with learning. It only takes a few moments to add approved websites for your child to access while in nabi mode. My son loves to play the games on various sites and in nearly 2 years he has NEVER accessed any websites or content that I haven't approved. I never worry about letting him get online and do the things he enjoys. I know that the kid safe browser (Maxthon) used on the nabi is very reliable! EXTRA STORAGE One of the feature we use the most is the micro SD slot. You can easily add content to an SD card to use on the nabi. I have saved movies and music to an SD card and that is what keeps him busy during long traveling hours. We travel a lot and we absolutely love the nabi for traveling. ACCESSORIES The silicone bumper that comes on the nabi is great! Even though I have explained to my son that he has to take care of the nabi, I am not afraid of it shattering if he was to drop it. In fact, I have been known to drop it a few times and we have never had any problems with it. There care some pretty cool accessories available also. We have the headphones, which at first I thought we pricey but, just like the nabi, they are of the highest quality! There is a child mode and an adult mode on the headphones. The child mode limits that max volume, which is great so that children don't ruin their hearing by having the volume up too high. We also have the power bank, which again is great on long trips. I can charge the nabi using the power bank if there is no outlet available. When charging in the car, the extra long car charger cord is very helpful. The long red cord can reach all the way into the back of an SUV or van. OVERALL The nabi is great! My son uses it nearly every day. As parents, it is rare that we spend a lot on a gift for out children and they actually "get your monies worth out of it." With the nabi, rest assured that you, nor your child, will NOT be disappointed with the purchase!

A great Android tablet for the kids and parents to

First and foremost, we want a tablet which our son can use but it locks out all the apps that keeps popping up asking him to buy this and buy that. And lock him away from all of the other apps and emails that mommy and daddy uses so he can't screw those up. The main issue when we hand him our iPhone or iPad. This is the 2nd generation Nabi so it has been around long enough to work out all the kinks of the first one. And indeed we can control exactly all that he sees and what apps he has access to. Even for Android apps that normally would ask him to upgrade or other annoying popups, we turned a lot of those settings off on the Nabi2 so there is nothing he could click to get him into trouble. Meanwhile we got a full 32GB card in there so we can load it up with his favorite TV shows and music and away he goes. We even got a HDMI cable so that we are able to display it on TV while we're on vacation in a hotel room. And for the parent's mode, if you only care for the basic tablet stuff, it's all there. I want more and through the help of Fan-A-Tech's on Facebook and on the Everything Nabi blogs, there is enough info on there to help me use the Nabi like a full fledge Android tablet (not all apps work yet but most does). You have to be a bit techie to get some of the directions but otherwise, I got it all to work. And lots of help from either sources mentioned above. It's a great product for my son and for his parents.

The NABI 2 is a full blown android tablet running the latest operating system with the latest processor technology. It has expandable memory through micro sd, hdmi out, decent battery life and a beautiful screen.I saw one uninformed negative review for the nabi 2 that was simply referring to the issues with the frst nabi tablet. The two tablets look identical, but they are NOT the same. The new nabi has a tegra 3 processor, which easily keeps up with even the most robust games available for tablets, and is wonderful for streaming movies from netflix and other sources. I LOVE tech, and I bought this for my daughter's 5th birthday. I couldn't be happier. What's not to love. This tablet cost the same as my wife's kindle fire, and has far more features and capabilities (We still love the kindle though). I had to be pretty picky to find a negative, but there is a bit of a screen angle limitation that makes it tough when my other daghter wants to watch netflix with her little sister in the car. The solution is that big sister will be getting one for her birthday too. If you are looking for a state of the art 7 inch android tablet for an excellent price, then NABI 2 is the way to go....if your kids are willing to share. P.S. NABI has amazing customer service.

It is a real Android tablet designed for kids with a bumber around the tablet to protect it. The tablet have an SD reader, USB, HDMI mini, power and audio port. On the top have 3 buttons volume +/- and on/off. Runs ice cream sandwich and practically have the same specifications as the Nexus 7. I bought one tablet for each kid (ages 8 and 4) and they love it. Now I can use my tablet, the kids they have their own tablet. The kid mode only has access to certain apps and certain website, it can be changed in daddy/mom mode. The amazon store can be added from daddy mode. NOTE: If you add games from the amazon store be sure to deactivate in-app purchase. Amazon is known for a daily free game, but a lot of those games are designed for addional puchases from inside the game. You can be a one click away from a credit card charge. Bottom line, if you modify the nabi with third party programs is your responsability to inspect those programs to see whether they are appropiate for kids or not. Dont blame nabi for your modifications/irresponsibility. Not all the features are operational and some are in beta such as nabi sync, nabi cloud. If you are look for a real tablet that a child can grow with it, look no more.

My daughters and I have been using this tablet every day for a little over a month now with no complaints. I downloaded the amazon app store to get apps and added their favorite app "kid mode/zoodles", It comes pre loaded with tons of free audio books, learning apps, games, music, videos, tons of fun stuff your kids will love. I have used a samsung galaxy tab and nook and prefer the nabi 2. We added netflix and hulu both of which play great with no lag. They have an excellent support team that will answer any of your questions, best done on their facebook fan page. They are constantly working to improve and complaints and add more apps. This tablet has every thing on it my kids could ever need. I added a phonics app to help my daughter learn to read and write and she loves it. I love the "mommy mode/daddy mode" feature which by entering your password turns it into a regular tablet. I love the expandable memory. It is also a great size and the bumper makes it very comfortable to hold. It has great video and sound quality. The touch screen works great, no need for a stylus like some others. The only thing I wish it had that it doesn't is a rear facing camera with a flash but I'll survive with out since I have a reg camera. Overall if you are familiar with android then the tablet is super easy to navigate. I assume that any one that says otherwise is not very tech savvy.

The Nabi 2 is so great. We purchased it for our 3 yo as a Christmas gift and I haven't put it down! You have to make sure to run the update when you first get it! The only bummer is there is no Google Play store installed. If you go to everythingnabi.blogspot.com/ it explains how to install other Google features such as mail, calendar and drive for back up. If you have another android device you can migrate google apps to the Nabi 2. My son likes the Lego and Lego Duplo games so I migrated them to the Nabi 2 and they work just fine. The blog explains how do to this as well. It took me about 10 minutes to install the necessary apps and install them on the Nabi 2. I love that the Nabi 2 has the ability to function as a full blown table which will allow it to grow with my son. The installed games and apps are great and you can even modify those through the Nabi website. The Facebook page is a great place for info and support also - I have posted there and typically get a response within an hour (obviously not in the middle of the night). I have notice some bad reviews and can only think there is a user issue problem - this tablet is great!

I bought one for my 80 year old mother to use and share with my kids. I was so impressed by the apps that they had that was good for my 2 year old and my 8 year old that the next day bought 2 more. My 2 year old is able to operate hers just as well as my 8 year old. The kids safe Internet is great and learning apps made it especially good for my 8 year old. You control which apps you want them to have so I was able to put apps that were good for the 2 year old on hers and still have the apps that I like hidden on it under the mommy mode. My 8 year old has different apps showing on his. I was also able to add personal pictures so they know as soon as the screen comes up who's nabi it is. The mommy mode allows me or my 22 year old to use it as a normal tablet, he wants one of his own. I recommend this to anyone with kids. It is awesome and with the rubber case around it already makes it perfect for little ones. I can't wait for the accessories to come out and add to it for Christmas.

My daughter loves her Nabi and so does my nephew who both got Nabi 2's for Christmas. I know there were a lot of technical issues around Christmas day and even though the Nabi makers got a lot of flack for it, it was actually due to another company's servers that Nabi had a deal with. Regardless, Nabi, via their Facebook page, enocuraged people to set up any Nabi's intended for Christmas presents prior to Christmas day. They offered 10 free apps for doing this. (Because I had done this I was not affected by the technical difficulties on Christmas day.) Once there was a problem, Nabi techs (again, via their Facebook page) worked all day Christmas answering questions and giving advice on round about ways for kids to enjoy their Nabis despite the technical difficulties. They also extended the free 10 apps offer AND gave everyone FREE Nabi Coins (used to purchase apps in the Nabi Zone) for all the trouble. They also gave detailed instructions on how to side-load the Amazon App Zone so that those apps could be enjoyed on the Nabi! BOTTOM LINE: Connect to Nabi via Facebook (Like their page) to get tips, hints, help, etc. to make your experience that much better... Also, there is a blog called "Everything Nabi" that gives DETAILED instructions on how to solve common problems and how to side-load apps and other updates and information regarding the Nabi 2 tablet.

Ok, so I am not really tablet experienced, but I bought two of these tablets for my 4 yr old and my 7 yr old based on other people's reviews. They love these, eventually, we had to buy new replacement covers just to keep them separated. They were a little complicated at first as there isn't a booklet explaining set up. After tinkering with it for a few minutes, it became easier to figure out how to give each child access to their own stuff. I did have to download the Amazon App Store to download games and programs that were not offered in the Nabi Store. I figured out later and after a few surprise "digital charges" from Amazon that unless you specify use a password on the Amazon App store that the kids were able to access the account and buy upgrades, $10 lesson learned, I was lucky. The Nabi apps store still required the parental password for purchases Overall, I love these little tablets, it is nice to know that the kids can only play games or search the web for the things I have authorized. It's a great alternative to giving them a regular tablet. I bought them on sale and feel that I got a great value for the price at Christmas. The kids were ecstatic to see these and have been very happy. Makes for nice road trips and pleasant quiet times when one is working on homework. If you are looking for a tablet to give to a small child. They were built for children and have held up to their abilities. I am very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend these tablets to anyone who is shopping for a kid-friendly device!

We have 4 of these tablets. They have been lifesavers on long road trips. The kids are entertained...so much less fighting going on. Victory for me! What I love most about this tablet is that you are not limited with just the preinstalled apps. You download the Amazon Market and 1 Mobile. Nabi announced that they are currently in negotiations with Google to get a Google Play certificate. A friend says the XD 32GB has Google Play so I am sure it is just a matter of time before they all do. Two of my new favorite features are Time Controls and Wings. I like being able to set limits and see which apps my kids are spending their time in. Even better, Nabi tells them when it is bed time so no more fighting with Mom. Bonus! The second feature I love is Wings. This is an educational app that aligned with the common core standards. As an educator I love this. My kids are reinforcing what they learn at school on their tablet and they don't see it as learning. Another great thing is that if you need any help, all you have to do is go to the Nabi Facebook page and post your question. One of their "Moms & Dads" will provide assistance. Very patient and friendly. Best customer service ever. I know some people like to talk to someone on the phone, but I have always gotten much faster response times on the FB page.

I have been looking through reviews for the nabi since it first hit the market last xmas and was at first very hesitant to buy one for my 5 year old son. He plays a lot on my old smart phone that still has Angry Birds on it and enjoys his game folder on my iPhone so I did not know if he would enjoy the nabi because it is a different level of playing than he has been used to as of late. But after reading all the reviews and looking at their Facebook page, I decided to take the plunge. From the second I pulled it out of the box to set everything up for him, I was impressed. Each feature on the nabi 2 has been great. There are apps for learning letters. numbers, shapes, colors, etc. I have found apps both enjoyable for him and education (a plus for me!) I love the bumper around the tablet and the screen size seems just right for him. I would highly recommend this product and look forward to watching my little man grow with nabi!!

This is an awesome device for kids! Mine are ages 4, 6, and 8 and they all love the Nabi2. I can let them play knowing they can not get into trouble and buy things they should not. Even better than that is the Educational software that rewards my kids for completing levels! They get coins as they learn and can use those coins to purchase apps for the Nabi! There is also a chore list you can set up and the parent sets the number of coins earned per chore (parents must buy the coins for the chore list). You can go to foozkids.com and track your child's progress through the 4 educational apps too! You can buy app through the Nabi App Zone. You can also very easily add the Amazon App store and have that whole app store at hand too! You will not regret buying the Nabi2. It is a total redesign of the Nabi 1 and Fuhu did a great job with the Nabi 2!

I bought my 5 year old this for his birthday this month, he is addicted to his daddy's xoom and we thought he would use this instead- he does. and so do his sister (8#, and his older brothers #13 and 14#. We almost didnt keep it because we didnt like the silly useless apps that came with it. #most are not full version and I HATE that#. But then I was able to get the amazon app store on there and that has changed. I have more educational games, #for free) and we finally got bad piggies. The screen is smaller than our other tablet, but that doesnt seem to be an issue, We dont stay connected to wifi because we are on a strict limit per month of 16gb and have 6 people using computers and such, so I am not able to use the chore list or their educational games to get points for their app store. BUT overall, we are very happy and I will be purchasing another for Christmas for my daughter.

Great product! The only down side is that the $200 of "free" apps and games are demos. Once she started playing and got hooked, we had to purchase the game/app. However, once we added the Amazon app store, we were good to go. Many apps and games are free or very cheap. My child uses her Nabi daily. She has had it for two months and hasn't got bored with it yet. She uses it as a hand held game system, an mp3 player, a computer, etc. I love that it has excellent parental controls. I get to choose what web sites she visits. If she tries to go to a site that I have not approved it stops her and asks for my password to approve. i can also control what apps she has! The "mommy" side is great to. I can log into my account and it becomes a full tablet, with no restrictions.

Purchase this for our granddaughter in Oc for Christmas, did a bit of research, Out of all the 'tablets' and wanna be tablets, this is rechargable, AC adapter, no batteries to buy like the LP, has the fastest processor of any of the kids tablets , storage is expandable with the micro sd card, to conserve power you can disable the wifi, lots of apps, can add the Amazon store which is a plus, great support via the Nabi FaceBook page, the only drawback is the over priced assessories Nabi sells on their webpage# Parental controls are fantastic, full android tablet in parent mode# Can connect to big tv via the mini HDMI cable, Most important = Safe & Secure, by far the best, can't wait for the Jr to be available so we can get that for our 4 year old granddaughter :)

My kids have had their nabi2s since last year. They definitely have gotten great use out of them. I love that you can install the Amazon appstore on it. They always have tons of great apps that the kids love. They are big fans of minecraft which works great on this tablet! They really enjoy reading stories and taking pictures/videos with their siblings. It has a kid-friendly UI in nabi mode with several preloaded educational apps the kids enjoy. It includes a Chore List which is a great way to keep the kids motivated and teaches responsibility. You can add websites to the Maxthon kid safe browser so your child can access websites in nabi mode. You simply have to tap on the Add Apps icon to select which apps you'd like your child to be able to use. Overall, the nabi is an intuitive and fun experience for the whole family and I am now looking into the new Disney edition for one of my next nabi tablets.
