Tablet is great for kids. I dislike not being able to use google play market, they really screwed everyone over on that one. But what you can and are able to use is for is ok. My kids love it but we have to go every where with the charger. I have an iPad 3 witch I use more then they do the Nabi and I charge the iPad every 3 to 4 days. I mean come on what is up with any android device and it not being able to hold a good charge?

My boys ages 2 and 7 absolutely love their nabi 2's and I couldnt be happier that I purchased them. My older son just has the regular one and my 2 year old has the disney special edition which seems to be geared more toward the little ones cause my 7 year old isnt interested in anything preloaded on it. It has been keeping them very busy and both the boys are already learning so much from them. The only problems I have with it is the chargers are really chincy and they arnt usb so you can only plug them into a wall outlet. Also I am not happy that my 7 yr olds regular nabi 2 got a update that includes the google play store and other google apps while the special edition disney one doesnt receive that update yet. They said to expect it in early 2014 so hopefully it wont be to long.

Ok, so I am not really tablet experienced, but I bought two of these tablets for my 4 yr old and my 7 yr old based on other people's reviews. They love these, eventually, we had to buy new replacement covers just to keep them separated. They were a little complicated at first as there isn't a booklet explaining set up. After tinkering with it for a few minutes, it became easier to figure out how to give each child access to their own stuff. I did have to download the Amazon App Store to download games and programs that were not offered in the Nabi Store. I figured out later and after a few surprise "digital charges" from Amazon that unless you specify use a password on the Amazon App store that the kids were able to access the account and buy upgrades, $10 lesson learned, I was lucky. The Nabi apps store still required the parental password for purchases Overall, I love these little tablets, it is nice to know that the kids can only play games or search the web for the things I have authorized. It's a great alternative to giving them a regular tablet. I bought them on sale and feel that I got a great value for the price at Christmas. The kids were ecstatic to see these and have been very happy. Makes for nice road trips and pleasant quiet times when one is working on homework. If you are looking for a tablet to give to a small child. They were built for children and have held up to their abilities. I am very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend these tablets to anyone who is shopping for a kid-friendly device!

My daughter has no problems navigating and using it. I love that it is completely kid friendly. .Even if she downloads a free app, she cannot play it unless i authorize it to be played in nabi mode. There is a parent mode that gives you access to everything a regular tablet can do. I love that it has timers for all the different apps (or you can group the apps and set a time limit) It also has a reward based system that your child can earn more time to play such apps. The battery does not last long in sleep mode; less than a day. I turn it completely off when not using it and it will last for 2 days of play; approx 3 full hours of play. Otherwise, we love it so much I am seriously thinking about buying the Nabi Jr. for my younger daughter

I purchased this online on Thanksgiving for $139. I figured at this price I could afford to take the hit if my daughter or I didn't like it. Our house is an apple centric home but I've had android phones and a Nexus 7. As far as specs go, this device is awesome. I can't understand people complaining about the screen. Sure it's not a retina display but come on its for a kid. It's more than good enough for games, apps and movies. I added the Amazon App Store so that helped increase the number of apps. Through Amazon I was able to install Netflix which works great. They just need to give official access to the Google Play store. The educational aspect of this device is an added bonus. The educational apps seemed well thought out. Also, one of the main reasons I purchased this was the ability to control which web sites are available. My main gripe is the inability to add digital copies of movies. I know this is not Nabi's fault but an issue with android devices. Nevertheless it's still a minus in my book. Hopefully the Nabi will mature to increase its features. Overall, I would recommend this tablet even at $200. If you expect an iPad then fork over the extra $200 and hope your child doesn't crack the screen.

The nabi 2 is a great tablet for kids. It's fairly easy for my 4 year old who has no prior experience with computer devices. I can see that as he grows and learns the nabi will still be relevant in a couple years. It is a great learning tool as well as for entertainment. The only negatives I see so far is the battery life is a little short and it seems to take a considerable amount of time to recharge. There are also some programs I would like to download for my kid but are not compatible with the nabi. overall I think it is a great device and worth the price.

My daughter loves this tablet. I felt it was a better choice than the other tablets offered for younger kids. She is three and has no problems navigating through and running various applications. Skip the one that's advertised for 2-4 year olds. They will pick this one up and learn how to use it and this one will be good for years as you can download apps for the appropriate age. Parent mode is very similar to a Google nexus. Kid mode blocks out any ads and non kid friendly content.

Overall, the Nabi 2 is a great value for the price you pay! It is durable with the included bumper for drops you KNOW will happen. I like that you can add memory with the micro sd slot and it even has a micro hdmi output! I would've liked to see a cover for all these inputs incorporated into the bumper to keep dust and small spills out but so far we haven't had a problem with that. The screen's viewing angle does leave something to be desired. If myself or my son are holding it, it's difficult for the other to see what's on-screen unless you're directly in front of it. A kick-stand on the back would be a nice extra feature to set up on a table in front of us, but you don't see this on many tablets period. Battery life is fair, especially if you remember to power-down the tablet for extended times between uses. Expect the battery to last a day or two with average, always-on use. I like the included learning games, chore-list and e-books so my son isn't just using it to slice fruit or watch cartoons! Again, overall, it's a solid buy for a child to get them a multi-function hand-held device. You are able to store movies and music on it, download books and apps and it will continue to grow with your child for a number of years to come!

We bought this for our 7 year old Grandson. I was so very impressed in every aspect of the word with the Nabi 2!!! I, myself, spent 4 hours playing with it when we set it up! My husband spent 3 hours playing with it! Its refreshing to find an educational product that is also fun at the same time! The parental controls are so awesome! YOU control what your child does! Solid in no way shape or form is this flimsy!!This is hands down the BEST thing we have ever purchased for our Grandson!! We just wish we have found this before now! BTW Mom, Dad, Grammie, and Grampie have a full use tablet when in the parent mode!! Do yourself a favor and buy this product! I GUARANTEE you will NOT be disappointed!!!!!

I bought this for my 4 year old twins, mainly due to price. They had already destroyed an Ipad which lasted an amazing 2 years with them. Pluses: They can both use the Nabi easily. It has plenty of apps to keep them entertained. Bumper case helps when it's dropped. Parent mode keeps them from doing anything unapproved such as web surfing or accidentally purchasing more apps. Minuses: Power cord is not well designed. The part that plugs into the Nabi itself is very thin and broke after only a week. Luckily they included a second one. Makes one think they knew the design flaw. Also, the protective case is too easy to remove.

The Nabi is a great system for kids! My granddaughter is 3 years old and always wanting to be on her mother's tablet. I bought her this one and she no longer bugs her mom for hers. She loves it and was easily able to figure out games for her age and even some for above her age. I expect this to be used for learning games as much as possible, but also just for fun. The internet and parental controls took a bit to get set up, but now work great. There are lots of games available, but not all the ones I am used to from iTunes. The battery life could be better, and a car charger would be nice. Otherwise, it can be used while still plugged in and charging. I also bought a relatively inexpensive headphone set to go with this gift that has loudness maximum appropriate for kids. Also bought from Best Buy. All in all we are very satisfied with this tablet!

So I know there are new products out there for kid's tablet. The only thing is after reviewing critics and parents. I decided to go with the Nabi 2. My son is 3 years old. He's already playing games on the Mac and I can't get on my own computer. Thus, why I bought the tablet. Best investment ever!! He's such a techie that it was the smart choice and knowing that there is a kid vs parent mode. I'm am perfectly content in letting my son use the tablet. Down side not enough applications for kids. Apple has a lot but not that many outside of that. Which I'm hoping with the expansion of the kids tablets out there. We will be seeing alot more!! $299.00 investment is worth it!!

My 2 year old has dropped this tablet approximately 3 times and no damage. He can operate it on his own. I use the Amazon app store which is far better than the app store on the tablet. Wish I could get the Google play store. Paid $130 for it. I am pleased.

We love the Nabi. It's perfect for my four year old, who can be a little rough at times. The Nabi has a good variety of apps preloaded on the tablet. And you can add your own android apps. One of the preloaded apps allows kids to safely surf the internet and view videos. However, the videos feature doesn't work quite as well. Even though it allows you to add the YouTube, you can't view it. Another great feature is the Nabi has a mini SD card port so you can have extra memory. All in all, we were very surprised how great this tablet is for the price. I've been telling all my mom friends about it.

My daughter loves her Nabi! She is only 3 but worked my Kindle Fire really well so we bought her the Nabi 2 instead of the Nabi Jr. The Nabi for a child is awesome. My daughter rarely needs help and navigates the screens very well. Adding the apps from my kindle cloud to her Nabi wasn't too difficult, but I did search online for instructions. I like that there is a mommy mode that allows me to add or remove apps, set time limits andallows me to moniter her apps usage. I wasn't happy that I had to go online for the manual when I wanted to read about setting up the Nabi. I have also searched online for help forums to setup time restrictions. I think mommy mode could be easierto use.

The Nabi 2 is one of the best investments I could have made for my toddler. I absolutely love the educational feature, the parental controls and the time limits. The Good Morning song and the Good Night song are awesome! They are so good, that my whole family (including my husband and I), look forward to them. The only issue I have had so far is downloading and printing the monstrous manual because it didn't come with one. I also had to use the FB site to find out that I needed to upgrade the software in order to hear the songs. It was free but a hassle. It's working perfectly fine now.

Not knowing what to expect once purchasing this tablet, I was hoping for the best. I was surprised after entering my information that it was a long process of downloading certain apps in order to download Netflix for my child. I love the parental controls and it is a great tablet for little kids. Just be prepared for the complexity of the tablet when using it. A little harder to pick up as compared to my iPad. However, I would definitely get the Nabi 2 again. My child loves it and it has very educational and fun apps already available upon powering it on.

Definitely enjoy the package that Nabi has put together here. great specs in general, and a great bundle of software, learning tools, and their own bits and pieces. Love the 'kid mode' vs 'dad mode' thing for protecting apps. Would like to see more security features (including blocking ads, blocking purchases/in-app, etc.). Coursework is a mixed bag. Starts off interesting, some of the text is way too small and the english sentences are WAY above the grade level (so parent would be expected to assist) -- text-to-speech is a frequent technology, would be useful here for littler students. Some of the math stuff we found repetitive or requiring really detailed counting. Some of the science stuff used concepts I could explain, but my kid would be unlikely to know the words, and the multiple choices could be tricky. I'd like to see this refined. The tutorials aren't overly helpful either, often one screen of text and graphics before pushing you into quizzing. Bundled apps overall seems good for the value. Lots of games, though would like to see fewer requiring upgrades to unlock stuff. Understand there's a coin system, but that's real money somewhere in the process. More control/configurability over the kids mode launcher would be good. 8 per page on a 7" tablet is restrictive, some of the pages are prelabelled. My kid is used to a 10" tablet with every slot filled with app icons... As for hardware, the spaces on the back for adding personalized bits is neat, but SOME should have come in box then. Otherwise, why bother. The bumper is good, but would rather have the product cheaper and let the kids pick their color right off the bat. Bumper also should be more tacky, it's WAY too slippery where it's a protective device. Speakers a bit tinny, and don't love their positioning. And the screen is the real horror here... I know it's one area that drops price quickly, but off angle viewing quickly goes inverted and unusable for multiple people side by side -- which is all but expected for a kids device! I'd prefer to have full google play support... like Nook finally caved and did.

Very good first tablet! I like how i can change things on the mommy mode especially the chore list. However i wish it was a little easier to put some of the apps he wants on there. Have to go to everything nabi app zone to get them. Although i havent figured out how to sideload google play to get some of them. But, overall, this is a great product because it will also help him with school work, he can use the kid friendly web browser, watch movies or videos, and the games are fun!
