I love this sound bar so much!! 7.1.4 Spacial surround sound with the SSE feature. I was watching Bad Boys for Life and the audio was incredible. The surround sound is full and you can hear each element of the soundstage clearly without the individual sounds drowning in with one another. I got it for a great price during the week of Black Friday and couldn’t have chosen a better time. This product supports ARC and eARC for Atmos and DTS;X. It also has numerous features that allows you to fine tune the audio to a specific desired setting. Game mode, Movie, Stereo, News and voice adjustment. I currently have my Xbox One X and 2 of my 4K Blue ray players plugged into it. The ONLY draw back is that it doesn’t support HDMI 2.1 pass through. So I have to plug the console directly into the TV for all the new gaming feature while just relying on the TV to decode my audio info. So if you have an PS5 or XSX and an 2020 LG TV, you can’t enjoy Gaming features and DTS:X support simultaneously.

I did a good bit of research before deciding on the Nakamichi soundbar. I decided on the 7.2.1 because of my room size and it didn't disappoint. The sound coming from the speakers is so much like being in a theater. I have high pitched hearing loss so with most soundbars I miss a lot of the conversation in a movie. Not so with the Nakamichi, the words are so clear and the bass from the subwoofer is amazing. I've watched several movies now with different people and they were blown away with the sound. The only issue I had was a crackling sound from the subwoofer, but after troubleshooting on the Nakamichi website, I changed my wifi settings and that solved the issue. I'd highly recommend this system to anyone looking to upgrade their home theater. It'll blow you away. One more thing, listening to my music on Spotify has never been better!!

I have been on the hunt for the best sound system to use with my TCL 6 Series TV in my small condo. I've tried the Roku wireless speakers and subwoofer. Good, but limited decoding capabilities. I then purchased the Soundcore Infini Pro as my first Atmos soundbar. Also great for what it is, but lacking in true surround. I was waiting for the TCL Alto 9+ Soundbar and discovered the Nakamichi 7.1.4. I compared to the JBL 9.1 with wireless rear speakers but that system costs $250.00 more. After weeks of research and consideration I decided to order the Nakamichi. It arrived a few days early in its massive box and I immediately set it up - HDMI ARC to TV with Sony UPX700 connected directly to the soundbar. There are a ton of settings to tweak the sound - DSP, Surround, Subwoofer, etc. I tested it with 4K titles from my digital library - Mad Max Fury Road, Avengers Endgame - and Blu-Rays - Baby Driver, Creed. Incredible and the SSE works! Netflix movies, broadcast TV, and music from Pandora all sound great. It's perfect for my space and I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I got this after having a Vizio 5.1 soundbar for about 5 years. My biggest complaint about that unit was the voices were muddled and drowned out by the action on the screen. After a few months of looking at other reviews on forums and tech sites, I decided to give the Nakamichi 7.1.4-Channel Soundbar System a shot. And boy am I glad I did. This has an amazing sound for the price and looks good under my TV too. The installation was a breeze since I already had the mounts for my other surround sound system up and even utilized the other wires as well. The soundbar has a few preset settings which are what I currently use and work well. They have a game setting that works great for PS4 or my Switch. And the movie setting is great for those Marvel binging nights or a more quiet drama. Having owned this for a few months now I really love this soundbar and would recommend this for its price and quality.

I was not impressed. Look its a really good sounding system. Its really is, but at this price, its lacking features that should be available, I wasn't a fan of the remote I wasn't a fan of the sound modes and I really really hated that the rear satellite speakers have to be wired to the rear sub. My room layout is unforgiving in that category. I may have decided to deal with the lack on of onboard features if I got the 7.2.4 version but it wasn't an option. Oh and the misprint in big bold letters on the packaging, while not indicative of the sound quality, kind of makes you wonder how much they really care about the product.

I was sold on the reviews of this sound bar and since it wasn't available in store to hear that is about all I could go by. I'm not really convinced the "Atmos" is effective on this setup. While they label this a 7.1.4 setup - there are only 2 small tweeters actually pointing at the ceiling on the main bar. The rest of the speakers on the rear satellites and main sound bar all point the same direction. So the reality is that this is generously a 5.1.2 setup - I say that because the up-firing tweeters don't really put out much volume. The extra channels they claim are are created using digital effects. The sound quality to me is OK - I was put off by the tone of voices and cant get anything but a very mid-rangy sound from the many small mid-range speakers. It also creates ear fatigue a lot sooner than my polk setup upstairs. This bar is very capable of putting out the power though - I have a fairly large room to fill and it keeps up with my full size tower speaker setup in my living room (Polk TSx550T, CS20 center, TSi200 rears PSW125 sub). I would compare it to have a 5.1 setup with 135RMS output per channel on standard 8ohm speakers. The sound bar came with a dolby atmos demo blu-ray which was neat, but I didn't really feel the atmos feel, it was more the 5.1 or 7.1 feel I have upstairs. The demos on the disk with before/after Atmos were obviously faked. I wish it had a true tone demo to hear the difference. A lot of my Atmos talk is because there is another model of this bar that costs a lot less without Atmos support.. it might be more economical for people to go that route since the Atmos effect is minimal. I have a regret that I didn't go with the next model up to get 2 subwoofers. There is no way to upgrade to a second sub on this model - the processor is different. I spent time researching placement and testing and I just cant get an even sound that a second sub would allow - its very obvious that it is from the side because it is doing more than a sub in a full size speaker setup would be doing (crossover point). The sub also hits peak capacity well before the rest of the system... a second sub would be more even at high volume and maintain the buttery smooth and punchy when needed bass without the sounds you hear when a speaker is straining. I love that the rear speakers are wired to the wireless sub though.. no wires running the carpet. I love the tone and sound of the sub up until it hits its limit... very movie theateresque and much better than my polk PSW125 sub which has a larger woofer. I'd buy again on sale, I dont know if it is worth the full MSRP for the performance.

I have been on quite an adventure trying to find a great Dolby Atmos soundbar that works well with my Vizio TV and Xbox One X. I'll explain this adventure before reviewing this Soundbar, because I think it can be very valuable to anyone embarking on the same type of endeavor. I hope no one has to go through what I did when trying to find a functioning Atmos soundbar for under $1,000 that has an external device connected. This adventure started on Black Friday of 2019 and finally concluded on January 27th, 2020. My reviews for these below mentioned Soundbars can be found on Best Buy's Website under the respective products. You'll also encounter a couple of my Reddit Forum Posts, Google Help Forum Posts, and a Samsung Forum Post if you do more digging. I really exhausted all resources before returning each of the soundbars and dedicated quite a few hours to each as well. On Black Friday I purchased an LG SL8YG and had major issues with the volume auto-adjusting due to Google Commands. LG told me that they were aware of this issue and didn't have an estimated fix date. Soundbar was returned because my volume automatically adjusting was enough to make me throw it out the window, but luckily I managed to get it back to BestBuy before that happened. In early January I purchased a Samsung HW-Q70R. I managed to have this soundbar produce sound for about 20 seconds total, and it sounded great! However, I have no video content that I can watch in 20 second increments and be satisfied. Soundbar was returned, but the CSR at Best Buy talked me into trying one more of these to see if mine was defective. I received this soundbar a couple of days later, and this time I was able to complete the firmware update without any hiccups and the soundbar was working properly with my Vizio Smart TV Apps. My issue this time came into play when I tried to swap inputs over to my Xbox, which was connected to the Soundbar. The soundbar was then connected to my TV via ARC. I was told that HDMI Arc is the only way to receive true Dolby Atmos, the only reason I purchased such a premium soundbar. After swapping inputs, I had no picture for my Xbox, only audio. I went out at 8 PM and purchased a Roku Ultra to see if my Xbox my be the issue. Still no luck after connecting just the Roku to the Soundbar. After scouring the internet and reading through Samsung Forums, I found that this issue dates back to 2016 and people are still complaining about it today. It is just absolutely baffling and unacceptable to have a malfunctioning $800 piece of equipment. This was the largest electronic purchase I had made next to my laptop, and honestly I expected perfection. Soundbar was returned again. This time around I told them I wanted to order a soundbar that they don't have on their sales floor, the Nakamichi 7.1.4. The in-home specialist came out and told me that his installers stated this was the best sounding audio equipment they had heard that wasn't a component system with a receiver. I had been eyeballing this soundbar prior to my LG and Samsung Purchases, but I was skeptical since I could not listen to it and couldn't seem to find a whole lot about it online. I decided to try it considering I had now returned 3 other soundbars and was bound to be black-listed by Best Buy regardless (which hasn't happened luckily). Now onto my review of this lovely piece of equipment. This company and soundbar definitely fly under the radar and that's a shame because their Website, customer service, and products are very consistent, reliable, and friendly! Installation was a breeze! I had to reach out to their support for one question during setup and they answered the phone right off the bat, no prompts or long hold times whatsoever. This was extremely refreshing after having dealt with LG's slow chat and Samsung's slow phone support. The firmware was already up-to-date and with multiple HDMI ports, I decided to add an NVIDIA Shield TV into the mix in order to have Dolby Vision and Atmos together. I am able to seamlessly swap between my NVIDIA and Xbox One without any issues. Audio and picture always appear like I expect and the audio is absolutely excellent. I will warn you that audio adjustments must be made depending on what you're watching or playing, but after familiarizing yourself with the extensive remote control, you'll see that finding the correct audio setting shouldn't be too difficult. Additionally, the remote gives you two memory buttons where you can save your audio settings setup. I've got my subwoofer located behind my couch with the two rear speakers connected to the subwoofer. The bass is excellent and rumbles like you would want for a movie theatre experience. Adjusting the rear and side speaker's volume, which are in the soundbar, is very easy with the dedicated buttons on the remote, versus the LG and Samsung soundbars where you have to click through the LCD menu to adjust those items. Maybe I'm just happy to have a properly working Atmos soundbar, but I will always recommend this Soundbar over any of the big brand names out there. The Dolby Atmos effects are definitely there, although they may not be quite as evident as you would get with a Soundbar or component system over $1,000, but the demo DVD and watching Netflix's "Night on Earth" documentary really gave me the effects I was looking for. I really feel encompassed by the audio when watching high-quality content with this Soundbar, and that's what Dolby Atmos is all about! I've only had this soundbar for about 10 days now, but the simple fact that I can use it on a daily basis and have consistent performance, is enough to make me spread the word about it after my previous experiences. If you're getting into the market for an Atmos soundbar, the biggest tip I can give you is to research troubleshooting steps with whatever model you're considering. Look up issues with the soundbar and whatever piece of external equipment you may be connecting to it as well. If this review makes a difference for one consumer, I'll feel relieved that they didn't have to go through what I did. Unpacking, setting up, tearing down, repacking, and transporting 3 different soundbars to my local Best Buy was not a fun experience, and was not what I was looking to do when I first purchased my LG soundbar back in November, but unfortunately it was necessary just to have properly functioning piece of audio equipment. Thankfully I never caught any flack from my returns at Best Buy and now everyone up there knows me and is very helpful!

Plenty of inputs connections to choose from. You can use this system with older TV’s or the newest 4K units available. I have paired this with a Sony x700 for an incredible audio experience.

i will give this sound bar 4/5 stars. although there have been some issues and complaints i have. i originally had bought one and was really happy with the sound and the base performance but had to return it because it made a crackle sound and the rear speakers volume wasn't the best. all of that was before the pandemic, cut to 1 1/2 weeks ago i decided to give it a try again and purchased another new one only to have a heavily used one sent t me which is unacceptable. i paid full price for a new one so i shouldn't have been sent one that looked beaten up, was obviously opened, had the wire packages and batteries to remote missing and here's the best part the person who returned it before me must've accidentally added an additional charger/cord that wasn't from Nakamichi. IT WAS A SONY CHARGER. smh. anyways, i went back to return it and i'm glad that one of the managers at the local bestbuy to me was understanding and even said the same thing happened to her with a different soundbar. always make sure that when you're buying online at bestbuy that they have it in the store already and don't have to order it and have it delivered there.

I was really excited to finally have a surround setup for gaming, that was until I got the thing. I started on ps4, but have since gotten a ps5 and all of this has happened on both consoles. Since I got it I've only been able to get a consistent 7.1 LPCM signal from 2 games. I cannot for the life of me get this bar to hold a 7.1 signal for any other game. If I'm using LPCM it will drop to stereo pcm if there's even one second of silence in-game, then I have to keep changing settings on the bar and in the ps5 audio settings until LPCM 7.1 pops back up. Then, 9 out of 10 times, even though LPCM 7.1 pops up when I switch, as soon as it's done scrolling I check to make sure it's 7.1 but it's back to stereo pcm. I've tried setting the ps5 audio out to TV, AV Receiver 5.1 & 7.1, and it still happens. Other times when it switches to stereo I'll still be able to faintly hear dialogue so I know the ps5 is sending a 7.1 signal but for some reason the bar is only registering a stereo signal. I will get like 6 different sound signals when trying to fix this. For example, sometimes the front surround will be really loud, sometimes the front surround will be muffled but the center channel is clear as day, sometimes I'll lose the rear surround speakers and I'll have to keep changing the bar to native until the bar correctly sends the 7.1 signal to the rear, sometimes I can't even get rear surround even with Dolby Upmix selected. All of this happens when I have the ps5 set to Bitstream (Dolby) too, except it doesn't change output signal when there's one second of silence like pcm does. Every single time I turn this soundbar on there's something wrong with the audio. Every single time I have to sit there fiddling with settings, both on the bar and ps5, to get this thing to work. Overall the bar isn't bad, if you're gonna use this for TV and movies it'll be great. I use an Xbox One S for 4k bluray with Dolby Atmos and I've never had one or two problems with that, but nothing as bad as just trying to get the correct audio from my ps4/ps5.

    Sound quality

Looked at tons of surround sounds...chose to go with Nakamichi. Quality and sound is excellent. Can’t say enough about it...talk about theater sound! It had a new 85” Sony with Dolby Atmos and Vision to prove itself...it’s doing the job well! Sound bar is great looking, has a good weight to it, and hung on the wall easily. Sub also seems pretty quality and synced right up. Shakes the room!! Remote has to be the best around for any sound bar. Even the box and how it was packaged was pretty impressive. Very happy with my purchase and it holds up to the super quality Nakamichi name of the old days.

    Price, Set up, Sound quality

I was using 2016 2.1 Vizio soundbar and was thinking to upgrade to a Dolby atmos 5.1 soundbar. Started my as usual intense research on the existing products and new products from the month of October. My initial preference was to go with Vizio brand again as I'm the existing customer of the same. So was started with this new elevate product that launched in BB with a very good offer of $699 which is $300 off from original price. All my research of comparing it with Samsung Q series bars, Sonos, JBL everything concluded elevate is best with tech and price point. Unfortunately, the offer ended just around the time my research concluded. So put the deal alert for elevate in Slickdeals and waiting eagerly to hunt it down the moment it shows up back in BB. To my luck or what I donno gotta alert popped up for this Nakamichi Soundbar offer in BB from Slickdeals. Repeated my research again with this brand and comparison ceremony was also done. Eventhough I saw plenty of 4+ ratings in BB Reviews, I was still reluctant to decide in this brand as this is the 1st time inhad come across this Nakamichi brand and also it had all hi-tech features + cheapest price range than any other in the market. Donno for some reason blindly, I placed the order in BB. As usual BB surprised me with order ready for pickup before expected date. That's drove to store in 10mins and picked it up. Just amazed on seeing the box of the product. As the 1st amazing impression, the rest of all my impressions from unboxing to set it up and experienced the 1st Dolby test, Nakimichi kept amazing me than 1000times I was expecting. Impressive packaging itself created a huge respect for this product. Pros- 1. Safe&secure packaging still user frriendly to unbox it. 2. Elegenat design - soundbar, subwoofer, surround speakers. 3. Plug and play set up, zero hassle with setup 4. Well built that gives impression of how well it can play out the audio. 5. Ease of instruction to position the subwoofer and surround to get perfect Dolby Atmos surround experience. 6. Lots of options in the remote initially gives confused mindset but each option is neatly built to ease the mode to set for every type of surround experience like music mode, movie mode, game/news/sport and combine it with stero\dolby surround\dolby upmix. It takes sometime to play around the remote but quickly it makes sense of each option available in it. To sum up, it's a Dolby Atmos surround true theatrical experience irrespective of your watching screen size 50" tv or 120" projector screen. Just mind blowing experience and I have already demo'ed it to my 5 friends who are looking for a Dolby surround system. This 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround is worth every penny I spent on it. Con's - 1. BB & Nakamichi should promote this product more as I was late to know about it and purchase it.

Love this set up. It has been a couple months and I haven't had any issues. I asked a question on a review board and the company got back to me with a fix. As of now, I have not had any issues with connectivity or speakers cutting out (witch others have mentioned). Easy set up with a Sony

Searched and searched and studied all the sound bars until I had headaches from it. Decided on this one and glad I did. It has everything and is extremely easy to set up Great sound with many geeky adjustments if you want or stick with the defaults.

Bought this for an easy way to have home theater without the receiver and all the wiring. The setup was really simple, I had gone through reading about different sound bars and didn’t mind the fact the rear speakers are wired into the sub. I had read it sounds “tinny” and that the rear sub cuts out due to WiFi interference and such but decided to take a shot anyhow, after all most electronics have certain things people dislike. I bought the stands for the rear speakers Nakamichi recommended and a mount for the sound bar under the TV and after turning on a good action movie I was pleasantly surprised (my friends thought it sounded like being at a theater). The bass is great and it is so easy to hear speech along with all the different elements in the movie. This sound bar can be really loud if turned up, but it may annoy others. I can see where people would say it has a tinny sound but the bass makes it complete. I was happy I bought it and from my personal experience would recommend it.

Nothing has come close to this soundbar. I love the performance, especially with Dolby Atmos content. It blows me away! Very full featured. I’m a bit of a feature geek and it does not disappoint. If you are the opposite, this might be a bit frustrating at first, but definitely worth the learning curve.

This is a beefy sounding soundbar. It is much better than a comparable Samsung model. With Atmos content, it is very immersive and loud, without sounding too loud. Sounds come at you from above and behind and all around you! The bass is very strong and satisfying with movies or listening to music. With music, you can feel the bass in your core and it is much better than other soundbars I have experienced. Just a very satisfying and deep bass sound. There is a small learning curve to learn how to use the remote, but the customer service is excellent and helpful, and very informative guides are included. 4k blu ray content sounds absolutely amazing. Very immersive. Overall highly recommended!
