    I love this sound bar so much!! 7.1.4 Spacial surround sound with the SSE feature. I was watching Bad Boys for Life and the audio was incredible. The surround sound is full and you can hear each element of the soundstage clearly without the individual sounds drowning in with one another. I got it for a great price during the week of Black Friday and couldn’t have chosen a better time. This product supports ARC and eARC for Atmos and DTS;X. It also has numerous features that allows you to fine tune the audio to a specific desired setting. Game mode, Movie, Stereo, News and voice adjustment. I currently have my Xbox One X and 2 of my 4K Blue ray players plugged into it. The ONLY draw back is that it doesn’t support HDMI 2.1 pass through. So I have to plug the console directly into the TV for all the new gaming feature while just relying on the TV to decode my audio info. So if you have an PS5 or XSX and an 2020 LG TV, you can’t enjoy Gaming features and DTS:X support simultaneously.

    Nakamichi = The Next Level

    I have been on the hunt for the best sound system to use with my TCL 6 Series TV in my small condo. I've tried the Roku wireless speakers and subwoofer. Good, but limited decoding capabilities. I then purchased the Soundcore Infini Pro as my first Atmos soundbar. Also great for what it is, but lacking in true surround. I was waiting for the TCL Alto 9+ Soundbar and discovered the Nakamichi 7.1.4. I compared to the JBL 9.1 with wireless rear speakers but that system costs $250.00 more. After weeks of research and consideration I decided to order the Nakamichi. It arrived a few days early in its massive box and I immediately set it up - HDMI ARC to TV with Sony UPX700 connected directly to the soundbar. There are a ton of settings to tweak the sound - DSP, Surround, Subwoofer, etc. I tested it with 4K titles from my digital library - Mad Max Fury Road, Avengers Endgame - and Blu-Rays - Baby Driver, Creed. Incredible and the SSE works! Netflix movies, broadcast TV, and music from Pandora all sound great. It's perfect for my space and I'm very pleased with this purchase.

    I did a good bit of research before deciding on the Nakamichi soundbar. I decided on the 7.2.1 because of my room size and it didn't disappoint. The sound coming from the speakers is so much like being in a theater. I have high pitched hearing loss so with most soundbars I miss a lot of the conversation in a movie. Not so with the Nakamichi, the words are so clear and the bass from the subwoofer is amazing. I've watched several movies now with different people and they were blown away with the sound. The only issue I had was a crackling sound from the subwoofer, but after troubleshooting on the Nakamichi website, I changed my wifi settings and that solved the issue. I'd highly recommend this system to anyone looking to upgrade their home theater. It'll blow you away. One more thing, listening to my music on Spotify has never been better!!

    I was not impressed. Look its a really good sounding system. Its really is, but at this price, its lacking features that should be available, I wasn't a fan of the remote I wasn't a fan of the sound modes and I really really hated that the rear satellite speakers have to be wired to the rear sub. My room layout is unforgiving in that category. I may have decided to deal with the lack on of onboard features if I got the 7.2.4 version but it wasn't an option. Oh and the misprint in big bold letters on the packaging, while not indicative of the sound quality, kind of makes you wonder how much they really care about the product.

    I have been on quite an adventure trying to find a great Dolby Atmos soundbar that works well with my Vizio TV and Xbox One X. I'll explain this adventure before reviewing this Soundbar, because I think it can be very valuable to anyone embarking on the same type of endeavor. I hope no one has to go through what I did when trying to find a functioning Atmos soundbar for under $1,000 that has an external device connected. This adventure started on Black Friday of 2019 and finally concluded on January 27th, 2020. My reviews for these below mentioned Soundbars can be found on Best Buy's Website under the respective products. You'll also encounter a couple of my Reddit Forum Posts, Google Help Forum Posts, and a Samsung Forum Post if you do more digging. I really exhausted all resources before returning each of the soundbars and dedicated quite a few hours to each as well. On Black Friday I purchased an LG SL8YG and had major issues with the volume auto-adjusting due to Google Commands. LG told me that they were aware of this issue and didn't have an estimated fix date. Soundbar was returned because my volume automatically adjusting was enough to make me throw it out the window, but luckily I managed to get it back to BestBuy before that happened. In early January I purchased a Samsung HW-Q70R. I managed to have this soundbar produce sound for about 20 seconds total, and it sounded great! However, I have no video content that I can watch in 20 second increments and be satisfied. Soundbar was returned, but the CSR at Best Buy talked me into trying one more of these to see if mine was defective. I received this soundbar a couple of days later, and this time I was able to complete the firmware update without any hiccups and the soundbar was working properly with my Vizio Smart TV Apps. My issue this time came into play when I tried to swap inputs over to my Xbox, which was connected to the Soundbar. The soundbar was then connected to my TV via ARC. I was told that HDMI Arc is the only way to receive true Dolby Atmos, the only reason I purchased such a premium soundbar. After swapping inputs, I had no picture for my Xbox, only audio. I went out at 8 PM and purchased a Roku Ultra to see if my Xbox my be the issue. Still no luck after connecting just the Roku to the Soundbar. After scouring the internet and reading through Samsung Forums, I found that this issue dates back to 2016 and people are still complaining about it today. It is just absolutely baffling and unacceptable to have a malfunctioning $800 piece of equipment. This was the largest electronic purchase I had made next to my laptop, and honestly I expected perfection. Soundbar was returned again. This time around I told them I wanted to order a soundbar that they don't have on their sales floor, the Nakamichi 7.1.4. The in-home specialist came out and told me that his installers stated this was the best sounding audio equipment they had heard that wasn't a component system with a receiver. I had been eyeballing this soundbar prior to my LG and Samsung Purchases, but I was skeptical since I could not listen to it and couldn't seem to find a whole lot about it online. I decided to try it considering I had now returned 3 other soundbars and was bound to be black-listed by Best Buy regardless (which hasn't happened luckily). Now onto my review of this lovely piece of equipment. This company and soundbar definitely fly under the radar and that's a shame because their Website, customer service, and products are very consistent, reliable, and friendly! Installation was a breeze! I had to reach out to their support for one question during setup and they answered the phone right off the bat, no prompts or long hold times whatsoever. This was extremely refreshing after having dealt with LG's slow chat and Samsung's slow phone support. The firmware was already up-to-date and with multiple HDMI ports, I decided to add an NVIDIA Shield TV into the mix in order to have Dolby Vision and Atmos together. I am able to seamlessly swap between my NVIDIA and Xbox One without any issues. Audio and picture always appear like I expect and the audio is absolutely excellent. I will warn you that audio adjustments must be made depending on what you're watching or playing, but after familiarizing yourself with the extensive remote control, you'll see that finding the correct audio setting shouldn't be too difficult. Additionally, the remote gives you two memory buttons where you can save your audio settings setup. I've got my subwoofer located behind my couch with the two rear speakers connected to the subwoofer. The bass is excellent and rumbles like you would want for a movie theatre experience. Adjusting the rear and side speaker's volume, which are in the soundbar, is very easy with the dedicated buttons on the remote, versus the LG and Samsung soundbars where you have to click through the LCD menu to adjust those items. Maybe I'm just happy to have a properly working Atmos soundbar, but I will always recommend this Soundbar over any of the big brand names out there. The Dolby Atmos effects are definitely there, although they may not be quite as evident as you would get with a Soundbar or component system over $1,000, but the demo DVD and watching Netflix's "Night on Earth" documentary really gave me the effects I was looking for. I really feel encompassed by the audio when watching high-quality content with this Soundbar, and that's what Dolby Atmos is all about! I've only had this soundbar for about 10 days now, but the simple fact that I can use it on a daily basis and have consistent performance, is enough to make me spread the word about it after my previous experiences. If you're getting into the market for an Atmos soundbar, the biggest tip I can give you is to research troubleshooting steps with whatever model you're considering. Look up issues with the soundbar and whatever piece of external equipment you may be connecting to it as well. If this review makes a difference for one consumer, I'll feel relieved that they didn't have to go through what I did. Unpacking, setting up, tearing down, repacking, and transporting 3 different soundbars to my local Best Buy was not a fun experience, and was not what I was looking to do when I first purchased my LG soundbar back in November, but unfortunately it was necessary just to have properly functioning piece of audio equipment. Thankfully I never caught any flack from my returns at Best Buy and now everyone up there knows me and is very helpful!

    Incredible surround sound system. Am glad I made this choice. The sound is crispy clear and when watching movies, I feel am in a movie theater. I was moving to a new home and wanted a good budget surround system and while searching I stumbled on Nakamichi surround system. I wanted to buy the ultra 9.2.4 channel but my budget couldn't afford thus I went for the 7.1.4 channel and am satisfied with my purchase. The 1st time watched a movie(coming2America) my neighbor came knocking at my door to slow the volume of which it was at 25% only. The wireless subwoofer vibration was shaking my walls like it was an earthquake. Its been about 3 months now that I had this speakers and I don't feel going to movie theater anymore Bcos it give me the feeling and sound quality of movie theater. I also love the remote control, it has many options to control the sound from listening music which is what I do mostly. The sound quality I get is 10 times worth the cost of this wireless surround sound system.

    Looked at tons of surround sounds...chose to go with Nakamichi. Quality and sound is excellent. Can’t say enough about it...talk about theater sound! It had a new 85” Sony with Dolby Atmos and Vision to prove itself...it’s doing the job well! Sound bar is great looking, has a good weight to it, and hung on the wall easily. Sub also seems pretty quality and synced right up. Shakes the room!! Remote has to be the best around for any sound bar. Even the box and how it was packaged was pretty impressive. Very happy with my purchase and it holds up to the super quality Nakamichi name of the old days.

    I got this after having a Vizio 5.1 soundbar for about 5 years. My biggest complaint about that unit was the voices were muddled and drowned out by the action on the screen. After a few months of looking at other reviews on forums and tech sites, I decided to give the Nakamichi 7.1.4-Channel Soundbar System a shot. And boy am I glad I did. This has an amazing sound for the price and looks good under my TV too. The installation was a breeze since I already had the mounts for my other surround sound system up and even utilized the other wires as well. The soundbar has a few preset settings which are what I currently use and work well. They have a game setting that works great for PS4 or my Switch. And the movie setting is great for those Marvel binging nights or a more quiet drama. Having owned this for a few months now I really love this soundbar and would recommend this for its price and quality.

    I got this soundbar set for my home theater set up and it is amazing. I paired it with benq short throw projector and fire stick 4k and i could not asked for better result. I have 3 small dogs running around the living room so I didnt want to run wires but use the bluetooth option. There is no lags, no disconnections and the sound quality is just amazing. It does feel like i am watching movie in the theater. They have so many control options too, you can control the volume of the sound bar, subwoofer and the surround speakers individually. Highly recommended

    I went through 6 different sound bar systems before finally paying more and trying the SW 7.1.4. It has completely met expectations and then some. In order to process the 7.1 Dolby Atmos you need something that can handle to load. This system does that better than anything I have tried so far without spending over $1000. It’s worth every penny at $650 and will give your 4K Dolby Atmos movies some real feel to them. Spend the money and get this ASAP!

    After moving for the 5th time in 10yrs I got tired of running speaker wires and having a big receiver with tons of wires running all over the place. Honestly I had low expectations from a Soundbar but after researching them for longer than I want to admit I figured I’d give this Nakamichi system a go since it had the extra 2 rear speakers that plug into the wireless sub. My beautiful wife was born with only one ear so directional sound is critical for her to not have to “actively listen”. I mounted the bar under the tv with some brackets from amazon and setup the amp and speakers in minutes. Hooked up Soundbar with HDMI ARC Port on Sony TV. System automatically connects to tv/cable remote so I control volume with Comcast remote. It does come with a great remote and adjusting a few settings (room size, bass, eq, Dolby etc...) is super intuitive. You can also adjust brightness of Soundbar mini display so its not a distraction. And the sound is absolutely incredible. I constantly keep looking over my shoulder and realizing that dog barking, baby crying, birds whistling are actually not in my living room. Worth every penny and I can’t ever see myself going back to my Yamaha receiver and 5 speaker / sub system. In fact I’m buying a 2nd Nakamichi Soundbar for my bedroom. Ill use the Yamaha in my garage.

    I have tested many Soundbars and none of them compare to the Nakamichi. This Soundbar has many different settings to maximize your sound in any size room. Other Soundbars sound like your in a tin can but the Nakamichi takes sound to the next level. I wish I would have tried them sooner. Will definitely buy again if the need ever comes around.

    I was impressed with the soundwafe 7.1.4. For the price, it is a great soundbar. It handles movies and tv very well, and the rear speakers are active and immersive. The sub was plenty for my smaller living room. It's an excitable soundbar and was more than loud enough for me. The soundbar offers a lot of settings to adjust frequency, and speaker levels. This was useful as my room isnt a typical rectangle, and I had to make adjustments to fit the acoustics. The night setting was also handy. It also handled 4k passthrough well, and supports almost all popular audio formats. My only cons are that frequency response isn't as balanced as some more expensive soundbars, and the Atmos effect is good but not great. Higher frequencies sound a bit thin and as a result music doesn't sound that great. Not a problem for movies and tv though. It handles surround sound superbly, but some of the height effects that come with Atmos were only okay. The soundbars that are more balanced and handle Atmos better are almost twice as much though. For the money it's hard to beat the nakamichi 7.1.4

    I remember being a teenager in the late 80's and early 90's when me and my buddies starting driving. Upgrading are car stereos with names like Alpine, Sony, JBL. But there was one name that we all clamored for but could not afford. Except for one friend who a NAKAMICHI tape deck. As good as my Alpine system sounded, nothing could compare to NAKAMICHI. Imagine my surprise when I heard NAKAMICHI was now making sound bars and I just so happened to be in need for a new sound bar. I took advantage of the black Friday sales and purchased this system. I set this bad boy up with my new Sony 65 inch A8H tv. The first movie I watched was Rogue One on a 4k Blu ray. I was absolutely blown away by the audio quality. The BASS is absolutely awesome. Watching a movie in 4k with DOLBY Atmos with bad boy is awesome. If you are thinking about getting a new sound bar, then look no further. NAKAMICHI shockwafe in my opinion cannot be beat.

    Coming from a guy that lives in a 2 story townhouse you need to be careful because this has major potential. For the people out there with hard drives loaded with films, I was playing the drives off a Samsung smart tv for years. I loved the sound system even then. Every time I would download a film where the codec wasn’t supported by Samsung, I’d spend hours converting it to E-AC3 (Dolby digital +) Since this sound system supports DTS and Dolby of all codecs, I realized I needed something that would decode the files. Most Blu-ray players decode DTS, but Atmos is the goal. Long story short, this paired with Nvidia shield pro and the entire room will shake. It takes a bit of work if you’re not tech experienced but those who aren’t can google it. Jurassic world 1 & 2 , Mission Impossible - Fallout, and finally.. Gladiator. The soundbar tells you what’s it’s decoding at so you know what you’re getting. Whomever buys it needs to understand that the hardware is half the work, providing the codec is the other half. Do it and this puppy will shake floors and walls.
