Great Sounder - easy to set up. A necessity if you have the SAMSUNG TV set that requires 7.1.4 Channel requirements. I like the fact that you can increase the BASS response remotely and it adds a MOVIE LIKE atmosphere to my living room entertainment system.

Was going to get the Samsung Q90R to go with my QLED 75” Q70. But just could not allow myself to spend that kind of money. When I saw this on sale I decided to try it.
Followed the recommendations in setting up. 4K Sony blue ray into hdmi2 on bar, dish into hdmi on tv.
Sounds fantastic coming from an old Visio 5.1. Wife and family really impressed. Bass and surround are awesome.
It is buggy in that if I back up or fast forward a recording quickly it loses all sound. Have to pause and switch back and forth between hdmi2 and hdmi arc to get the sound back then resume. Also it would automatically switch from hdmi arc and hdmi2 but no longer does so. Use to turn on when I turned tv on but no longer does so.
Kind of aggravating for paying that much. The sound is the only thing keeping me from returning it, that and it’s 1000 more for the Q90.
If you don’t mind constantly having to use the remote that comes with it then it’s a good deal.

You can begin with this with confidence.
After wanting to get into Dolby Atmos for a while but not wanting to spend $1,000's on a top shelf rig with separate reciever, amps and speakers, I began looking for a soundbar alternative.
I searched around and narrowed my choices down to a Vizio system and this, it was tough but it's the good reviews that swayed me into taking a chance on the Nakamichi, a name I'd never heard of... I'm so thrilled that I did!
Simply put, this is the best sounding soundbar I've ever heard. I own an old Vizio 5.1 soundbar and was always disappointed at how small and weak the subwoofer is and I can only assume that the sub that came with the Vizio Atmos bar is probably the same one. The sub that comes with the Nakamichi is large, heavy and thunderous in the best sense. I've thrown every reference Blu ray I own at it which includes 'Saving Private Ryan', the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy and 'Jurassic Park' and this sub handled them all without breaking a sweat.
I've watched a few movies on it now and the Atmos tech built into this is the real deal, accurate, powerful and enveloping, it also utilizes DTS X, DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby Digital True HD.
Build quality is hefty, solid and attractive, it's mainly plastic but don't let that scare you, once you've got it in your hands any concern about it's durability will disappear.
Under the hood the bar sports all of the latest audio formats and a decent amount of control over them, that's more than I can say for my old Vizio which gave you nothing but bass and treble control.
The surround speakers each offer two 2-way cones and can be configured in a number of ways depending on your room and desired effect and they include all the hardware you'll need to install them.
The remote control is large and nicely laid out with an orange backlight feature which was a nice surprise. It gives you full control over the generous amount of features you'll get with this bar.
I must also point out that it comes with a full instruction manual booklet, not some fold out "figure it out yourself" piece of paper which seems to have become the norm for a lot of manufacturers. Nothing about the installation and operation of the system is left out.
In closing, if you, like I was, are on the fence at all about choosing an Atmos soundbar, give Nakamichi a shot, they deserve to run with the big boys and I'll sing their praises to anyone who will listen, it's a terrific system.

The Nakamichi Pro 7.1.4 is an amazing soundbar and is priced at half it's competitors, such as the Samsung Q90. If you are not a technical person don't let the 52 key remote scare you, you can set it and forget it. If you are a techi or gamer, get ready to have a blast of fun. Connections and setup is a breeze, just need to run the RCA speaker wire(s). And there is plenty at 32 feet each. Only con is rear surround speakers are not up firing.
Why doesn't BestBuy does not have these in stores? It would be the only sound bars sold.

Really impressed with this product. The packaging they did in their box was amazing! The sound quality so far is loud for my house. Take this with a grain of salt as the only comparion i can honestly make is from my cheaper sound system. But even if your a heavy duty sourndsound person. I think you will still be pleased with this. The only issue i have is the hdmi arc wont work and i have to use the opt cord. But i think its either bc of my tv or operator error

i love this sound bar it sounds so good i had the sonos arc but i returned it bc i had problems with it and got this one imo this sounds better bc u get a sub and 2 rear speakers for the same price as sonos with sonos you going to spend a lot more to make the sonos arc sound good in that case might as well buy the 9.2.4 naka for the full set up for a sonos arc. i have this in my bedroom and this sounds amazing with games i have the xbox series x only complaint xbox needs to fix the issues with atmos

I was sold on the reviews of this sound bar and since it wasn't available in store to hear that is about all I could go by. I'm not really convinced the "Atmos" is effective on this setup. While they label this a 7.1.4 setup - there are only 2 small tweeters actually pointing at the ceiling on the main bar. The rest of the speakers on the rear satellites and main sound bar all point the same direction. So the reality is that this is generously a 5.1.2 setup - I say that because the up-firing tweeters don't really put out much volume. The extra channels they claim are are created using digital effects. The sound quality to me is OK - I was put off by the tone of voices and cant get anything but a very mid-rangy sound from the many small mid-range speakers. It also creates ear fatigue a lot sooner than my polk setup upstairs. This bar is very capable of putting out the power though - I have a fairly large room to fill and it keeps up with my full size tower speaker setup in my living room (Polk TSx550T, CS20 center, TSi200 rears PSW125 sub). I would compare it to have a 5.1 setup with 135RMS output per channel on standard 8ohm speakers.
The sound bar came with a dolby atmos demo blu-ray which was neat, but I didn't really feel the atmos feel, it was more the 5.1 or 7.1 feel I have upstairs. The demos on the disk with before/after Atmos were obviously faked. I wish it had a true tone demo to hear the difference. A lot of my Atmos talk is because there is another model of this bar that costs a lot less without Atmos support.. it might be more economical for people to go that route since the Atmos effect is minimal.
I have a regret that I didn't go with the next model up to get 2 subwoofers. There is no way to upgrade to a second sub on this model - the processor is different. I spent time researching placement and testing and I just cant get an even sound that a second sub would allow - its very obvious that it is from the side because it is doing more than a sub in a full size speaker setup would be doing (crossover point). The sub also hits peak capacity well before the rest of the system... a second sub would be more even at high volume and maintain the buttery smooth and punchy when needed bass without the sounds you hear when a speaker is straining. I love that the rear speakers are wired to the wireless sub though.. no wires running the carpet. I love the tone and sound of the sub up until it hits its limit... very movie theateresque and much better than my polk PSW125 sub which has a larger woofer.
I'd buy again on sale, I dont know if it is worth the full MSRP for the performance.

I replaced a Klipsch 5.1 surround system with this Nakamichi 7.1.4 sound bar and was pleasantly surprised. Deep base, crisp tweeters and full midrange. I almost bought the Samsung at twice the price and I'm Very happy I didn't waist the extra money. The living room is completely filled with sound ( 22' x 26'). it's pretty good sized. when something on the screen flies over you on the screen the sound tracks perfectly. You won't be disappointed.

Great sounding sound bar! Easy to install with the provided template. Excellent volume with the loudness that fills the room with quality sound from every angle. Plenty of inputs connections to choose from. You can use this system with older TV’s or the newest 4K units available. I have paired this with a Sony x700 for an incredible audio experience.

A Really Impressive Audio System

I read all the reviews before I picked this up. I was upgrading from a Vizio 5.1.2 system. I did not do the typical install of the product, but it went really well. I upgraded each part in stages throughout the day, and then turned it all on. I was very impressed with the quality of audio and functionality. There is a very small learning curve, but all of the manuals provided make it easier. I did test with the included Demo disc and also some Dolby Atmos 4K Movies. I think this product operates much better than what I had. Everything has been enhanced and oh my I am so much more into the movies now with the upgraded audio. I also found that playing a battle of Light Sabers is a really good test as well, as you feel it all over the room and can see how it goes from one side to another. If I see this on sale again, I will consider upgrading the second system I have to this as well. If you have all the 4K components and need the audio to complete it, this is the way to go. It works way better than expected. It is much more customizable as well.

I have purchase multiple sound bars throughout the years and this one is the best hands down! Dolby Atmos, loud and clear, subwoofer is awesome! Got it for a great price Black Friday! Not sure why they don’t have it on display in the store but it blows out the LG, Samsung & Sony sound bars. Even the higher price point ones.

I was using 2016 2.1 Vizio soundbar and was thinking to upgrade to a Dolby atmos 5.1 soundbar. Started my as usual intense research on the existing products and new products from the month of October. My initial preference was to go with Vizio brand again as I'm the existing customer of the same. So was started with this new elevate product that launched in BB with a very good offer of $699 which is $300 off from original price. All my research of comparing it with Samsung Q series bars, Sonos, JBL everything concluded elevate is best with tech and price point. Unfortunately, the offer ended just around the time my research concluded. So put the deal alert for elevate in Slickdeals and waiting eagerly to hunt it down the moment it shows up back in BB. To my luck or what I donno gotta alert popped up for this Nakamichi Soundbar offer in BB from Slickdeals. Repeated my research again with this brand and comparison ceremony was also done. Eventhough I saw plenty of 4+ ratings in BB Reviews, I was still reluctant to decide in this brand as this is the 1st time inhad come across this Nakamichi brand and also it had all hi-tech features + cheapest price range than any other in the market. Donno for some reason blindly, I placed the order in BB. As usual BB surprised me with order ready for pickup before expected date. That's drove to store in 10mins and picked it up. Just amazed on seeing the box of the product. As the 1st amazing impression, the rest of all my impressions from unboxing to set it up and experienced the 1st Dolby test, Nakimichi kept amazing me than 1000times I was expecting.
Impressive packaging itself created a huge respect for this product.
Pros-
1. Safe&secure packaging still user frriendly to unbox it.
2. Elegenat design - soundbar, subwoofer, surround speakers.
3. Plug and play set up, zero hassle with setup
4. Well built that gives impression of how well it can play out the audio.
5. Ease of instruction to position the subwoofer and surround to get perfect Dolby Atmos surround experience.
6. Lots of options in the remote initially gives confused mindset but each option is neatly built to ease the mode to set for every type of surround experience like music mode, movie mode, game/news/sport and combine it with stero\dolby surround\dolby upmix. It takes sometime to play around the remote but quickly it makes sense of each option available in it.
To sum up, it's a Dolby Atmos surround true theatrical experience irrespective of your watching screen size 50" tv or 120" projector screen. Just mind blowing experience and I have already demo'ed it to my 5 friends who are looking for a Dolby surround system. This 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround is worth every penny I spent on it.
Con's -
1. BB & Nakamichi should promote this product more as I was late to know about it and purchase it.

Owned this system for a couple of months now. We use it at a vacation home, so it's not my everyday system.
This is a major upgrade over a 7 year old Sony sound bar, which was fine early on.
We have this in a loft, so it's not totally enclosed. The sub is placed slightly behind the right rear seating area. It's noticeable in that location. Would be better balanced with a 2nd sub on the left side. But i didn't want to spend more for that system. If we had the sub up front next to the TV, i think it would have been better. Can't do that though because the rear speakers are connected to the sub with wire. I guess you could still place the sub up front if you could run the wires under the carpet to the rears.
I like the power of the sub for our small room. The sound bar and rear speakers give a nice full sound.
One issue i have, and would appreciate feedback on is, The lip sync is off. The video is slightly ahead of the audio. There are lip sync buttons on the remote, but at max, the audio is still behind. I went into the TV settings and have the delay set at it's limit too. This is my only complaint, otherwise I'm glad we bought this system.

Owned for a couple of weeks, sound it's great more than expected and ease to set up. Comes with back speakers, I wish it has WiFi and an app to control it, but for the price paid (on sale at $649.99) it is well worth it, more if you compare it with other brands. Do not look around, this is the one!!

After reading so many reviews of several soundboard I finally chose this one. I was looking for plug n play but then I saw a firmware disc and was puzzled. It was disappointing when I connected Bluetooth and it kept cutting off within 10 feet away. Maybe because firmware needed to be updated. FYI I’m not too tech savvy but comparing to my 3.1 Samsung’s soundbar Bluetooth that worked flawlessly at 30-40 ft without any firmware, and for that price it should be better. Also rear speakers were bulky and had to be connected to subwoofer. Didn’t really bother to hear sound with an actual movie after that. I returned it. Unfortunately this was my experience with it. The sound bar itself looks really modern. I was looking for a more user friendly device. Might have the high quality sound after doing all the high tech updates but not something for me. Gave it 3 because the bass was really good while Bluetooth connection held up.

i will give this sound bar 4/5 stars. although there have been some issues and complaints i have. i originally had bought one and was really happy with the sound and the base performance but had to return it because it made a crackle sound and the rear speakers volume wasn't the best. all of that was before the pandemic, cut to 1 1/2 weeks ago i decided to give it a try again and purchased another new one only to have a heavily used one sent t me which is unacceptable. i paid full price for a new one so i shouldn't have been sent one that looked beaten up, was obviously opened, had the wire packages and batteries to remote missing and here's the best part the person who returned it before me must've accidentally added an additional charger/cord that wasn't from Nakamichi. IT WAS A SONY CHARGER. smh. anyways, i went back to return it and i'm glad that one of the managers at the local bestbuy to me was understanding and even said the same thing happened to her with a different soundbar. always make sure that when you're buying online at bestbuy that they have it in the store already and don't have to order it and have it delivered there.
