Much better than previous soundbar. Previous soundbar was highly-rated Vizio which seemed to get confused as to which input was currently selected (satellite box, Roku, Xbox One X). Finally got frustrated and bought this. Since Nakamichi has 3 HDMI inputs, it doesn’t get “confused”. Sound is exemplary. Atmos actually works. Dead-simple to set up and use and no wifi wonkiness like the Vizio. Firmware upgradeable if future features are released. Finally: can just watch and listen without having to fiddle with input settings!

We listten to a good deal of classical music via DVDs and streamiong services. We wanted a sytem that could reaLlly supply us with the best sound for the money we had avaiable to spend. This unit was so easy to set up and to use. The controls are very sensitive to what we want, and the unit itself provides not just highs and lows but the important midrange response. Details, warmth and clarity give you a reqal sense of "being there".

I was really excited to finally have a surround setup for gaming, that was until I got the thing. I started on ps4, but have since gotten a ps5 and all of this has happened on both consoles. Since I got it I've only been able to get a consistent 7.1 LPCM signal from 2 games. I cannot for the life of me get this bar to hold a 7.1 signal for any other game. If I'm using LPCM it will drop to stereo pcm if there's even one second of silence in-game, then I have to keep changing settings on the bar and in the ps5 audio settings until LPCM 7.1 pops back up. Then, 9 out of 10 times, even though LPCM 7.1 pops up when I switch, as soon as it's done scrolling I check to make sure it's 7.1 but it's back to stereo pcm. I've tried setting the ps5 audio out to TV, AV Receiver 5.1 & 7.1, and it still happens. Other times when it switches to stereo I'll still be able to faintly hear dialogue so I know the ps5 is sending a 7.1 signal but for some reason the bar is only registering a stereo signal. I will get like 6 different sound signals when trying to fix this. For example, sometimes the front surround will be really loud, sometimes the front surround will be muffled but the center channel is clear as day, sometimes I'll lose the rear surround speakers and I'll have to keep changing the bar to native until the bar correctly sends the 7.1 signal to the rear, sometimes I can't even get rear surround even with Dolby Upmix selected. All of this happens when I have the ps5 set to Bitstream (Dolby) too, except it doesn't change output signal when there's one second of silence like pcm does. Every single time I turn this soundbar on there's something wrong with the audio. Every single time I have to sit there fiddling with settings, both on the bar and ps5, to get this thing to work. Overall the bar isn't bad, if you're gonna use this for TV and movies it'll be great. I use an Xbox One S for 4k bluray with Dolby Atmos and I've never had one or two problems with that, but nothing as bad as just trying to get the correct audio from my ps4/ps5.

Great sound, but the passthrough is slow. It loses it's sound and sometimes takes a few seconds to a full minute or more to come back.....

The unit was nice, attractive. The sound was good. I couldn't get the hdmi arc features to work properly though. I called nakamichi support and they sent me another unit, still couldnt get it to work so i had to return it as this was a deal breaker for me. When I installed a different system, the hdmi arc worked perfectly and instantly.

Good system for the price. Was not blown away. Easy to setup and well built
