Been debating on buying for about a year finally went on sale. I have previous shockwave 9.2.4 ultra love the sound but this dragon is so impressive. Piece of hardware. Highly recommend sounds so amazing in my theater. Nakamichi is the way to go in my opinion, wouldn’t purchase anything else else just waiting for Nakamichi to upload the 12s on Best Buy to purchase for my set up. Just takes a little bit to calibrate and adjust to you’re liking my whole family loves movie night so immersive

I'm not a technical person, but this system absolutely blew me away. Forget the theater, it is your own private showing.
Delivery came in three boxes and I recommend also getting the speaker stands from Nakamichi (super solid, easy to assemble, about 10 minutes). The setup was mostly quick and easy and I only had to adjust a few settings on my TV which was simple after calling in and speaking with Nakamichi. (Their support is excellent and knowledgeable!)
There are about 5 components, two subs, two speakers, and a bar. They all look premium and the size works well for my living room. They are all wireless but do need their own outlets.
The sound is crazy. The bass from the subs is deep and hits clean. vocals and dialogue from the bar are the best I've heard it feels like i'm genuinely in a movie. There's basically no distortion and its just so clear its insane.
i'm considering getting another system as a christmas gift for my parents. Super impressive!

After months of research into a high quality surround sound system I finally settled on the Nakamichi Dragon and I couldn't be happier with the decision.
My must haves were simple but clear: Wireless subwoofers, wireless surrounds, and great overall surround sound and height effects. The Dragon not only checked those boxes but exceeded them in almost every way. Our living room is not small, 20ft tall ceilings, quite open and wide.
The Nakamichi Dragon delivered clear sound throughout the space. The upfiring speakers in the main bar and side surrounds create an incredibly realistic audio sphere, whether its subtle details in dialogue or the roar of a jet engine. The two subs are more than sufficient to shake pictures off the wall if you wanted to turn up the bass. The demo soundtrack provided with the system sounds incredible and will leave you speechless. Sometimes I like hitting demo for friends just to watch their faces and see how they react or when I want to smile about the purchase.
Nakamichi's technical support is second to none, they are extremely knowledgeable and respond immediately. We needed a little help with initial setup and had a sync issue which one of the ninjas identified as a niche TV related issue and was guided to a resolution on the phone. This kind of service is rare these days and worth calling out. While the cost can seem high for the system, For perspective I do own a $15,000 system in my theater room, the Dragon comes way close. I think you will be hard pressed to find a better surround system for the money and a company that provides the level of customer service at Nakamichi. Buy with confidence.

The Nakamichi Dragon 11.4.6 is not just a sound system; it is a cinematic event disguised as home audio. From the moment it powers on, the Dragon makes one thing unmistakably clear—this is what every soundbar on the market wishes it could be.
The engineering is extraordinary. Four subwoofers working in harmony, not as a blunt-force rumble machine but as a precision-tuned, room-filling low-frequency orchestra. Explosions sound thunderous without distortion; subtle bass notes glide with the finesse of a studio monitor. Whether it’s the deep resonance of a cello or the pulse of a cinematic score, the Dragon delivers bass with artistry, not just aggression.
The 11.4.6 driver configuration creates a soundstage that is nothing short of breathtaking. For the first time, a home sound system genuinely mimics the sensation of audio coming from everywhere—overhead, behind you, and at impossible angles you didn’t know were part of the movie. The surround directionality is so precise that you sometimes look over your shoulder convinced someone entered the room.
Dialogue clarity is impeccable. Even in high-action scenes where lesser systems bury the spoken word, the Dragon isolates vocals like they’re in their own acoustic spotlight—crisp, warm, and incredibly lifelike. Concert films, podcasts, and audiobooks feel intimate, as though the performer is standing in front of you, not projected through a speaker.
Visually, the Dragon is premium in every sense—sleek, confident, and imposing in the best possible way. The setup is refreshingly intuitive for a system of this caliber, proving Nakamichi’s commitment to user experience, not just raw technical power.
What truly separates the Dragon from every competitor is how effortlessly it transitions between cinema, gaming, and music. Dolby Atmos titles sound theatrical, gaming is fully immersive with frightening spatial accuracy, and music playback becomes an emotional journey through detail and dynamics.

Set up was easy, ready to use right out of the box. Sound quality is exceptional and I can turn it as loud as I can handle without the sound changing how I like it. Each piece of the dragon arrived in perfect condition. The video is really only half of the experience of watching anything, the audio tells you how to feel about what your seeing and the feeling is what it's all about. This system fills my living room with rumbling bass, clear full detailed mid range sound and crisp highs. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

The Nakamichi Dragon is in class of its own for sound bars. Looking to create a living room / home theater, I was blown away at its sound quality, and its power to deliver those big action scenes, yet maintain crisp, vocal acuity that is never drowned out with the tweeters. Setup is easy using without wires and requires only a tape measure to input the precise distance from each speaker to the listening area and a decibel app to ensure balance. Having grown up with high-end, AVR setups, this rivals, even exceeds, quality in many aspects, and I love the fact I can simply reposition and recalibrate speakers as needed if living room reconfiguration is required. The ability for the system to generate sound that seems to emanate from our ceiling creates height and makes objects seem to distinctly pass overhead. It is unapologetically large in terms of size, but its aesthetics and attention to detail is not distracting and fits well in our living room vibe (wife approved despite initial hesitation). This sound system has completely and utterly transformed our movie and music audio experience, and I have zero regrets in this purchase. Highly recommend this product.

I recently purchased a 100 inch tv and its awesome but the built in speakers were not the move. Needed a sound system to match and came across the dragon. haven't heard of nakamichi before looking into this but the dragon definitely exceeded my expectations. glad i took the chance because the clarity, bass, and height effects are amazing. If you want a serious home theater experience without running wires and mounting speakers into the wall this is the system for you.

Truly a unique experience compare to other sound bars, I first thought about buying a home theater system with individual speakers which comes at the same price but the idea of having so many cables around didn’t sound good to me. That’s where this comes in, easy set up and ooooh man cinematic sound with a bass that hits and makes everything tremble specially on movie 1 mode and only at volume 16. I’m afraid of going higher since at 16 it already feels like a cinema experience, surround sound is also amazing it feels like there are speakers on the ceiling, if grabbed at a good deal this can be a good alternative to home theater system if having too many cables is an issue

Amazing. Simply amazing. I upgraded from the 7.4.2 shockwafe. The dragon is incredible. So easy to set up. Sound bar sound is crisp and clean sounding. The quad 8" subs hit hard and don't distort. The rear channel satalite speakers sound amazing. Crisp and clean sound. This sound bar is extremely customizable forbthe perfect sound. This is a massive speaker set. Much, much larger than the shockwafe.

The Nakamichi - Dragon 11.4.6 is very powerful especially the tweeters. The set up was very easy and I must admit the Dolby experience is amazing. I needed something that was very loud and rich bass and I got it. The sound is crystal clear.
