Has issues, sounds OK.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound from this is OK, nothing like my old B&W setup. I needed the room, so here we are. The biggest issue is the input. The soundbar doesn’t recognize different inputs and no sound will come out of it, a lot of the time. It has issues recognizing Fire Stick, Xfinity and Netflix from the TV menu. I’ve read up on it and there really is no fix. I guess I shouldn’t have expected much for the price. Very disappointed with Nakamichi, not the brand I thought it was.

Superb! Highly reccomend!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my eye on the Nakamichi Shockwafe for a while now. Finally jumped on board and purchased. The updated eARC feature pushed me over the finish line. Connects seamlessly with my Sony 4k TV and game consoles. Also have it connected to my Nvidia Shield TV box and it works great. Setup was a breeze and took no time to get up and going. There is an large, easy to follow instruction guide for easy setup. The 7.1.4 channel sound bar system is amazing. Two rear speakers, soundbar, and bass speaker sound amazing. The bass on this thing is more than enough for just about any living room. I have a larger than average living room and cannot even come close to turning this thing up all the way. Sound is booming. You can make individual adjustments on the center channel to help voice clarity in movies, as well as adjustments to rears and bass speaker. Each speaker is clear with crisp sound. The soundbar has a display that shows input channel/ volume level. The remote is backlit and not difficult to use. Don't keep waiting like I did. Get it now. You will not be disappointed. This thing is amazing!

Okay For movies, but not good for music
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this Soundsystem now for five months. The base is quite good, but the mid range in trebl is not great. It has the ability to play music through Bluetooth and the quality is, frankly, Mediocre, even when you put it in music mode and fiddle with all the settings. Perhaps I have a defective bar or maybe it’s just the quality of this particular sound bar.

Good Speaker set but could be better.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this system as it was given the highest reviews everywhere I looked. Out of the box, very impressed with the look and substantialness of the product. However, my concern is the limited amount of volume control for the satellite speakers. I'd like to be able to raise them just a little without raising the soundbar. The subwoofer is at 0 and still, you feel the power of these. I would still recommend these.

Exciting Sound Bar that you need!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.1.4ch 850w is a sound breakthrough in soundbars. I have never been a fan of soundbars until I purchased this bar. Dolby Atmos is a game changer in movies at home. The immersive sound experience is phenomenal, putting you in the center of the action. One of my favorite things is for there to be a scene set in a rain shower with thunder and cracking lightning! What an experience. Makes you feel you are out in it. The 850 watts is just the right amount of power to make you feel that you are right in the heart of the action. The wireless sub produces excellent low-end. I wasn't sold on wireless until now. The set-up was a breeze. No problems at all. You REALLY need to try one for yourself and see what a great soundbar is all about!

True awesome name brand anyone can trust.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best sound bar I have purchased. The sound quality is above my expectation. It has plenty of features, including clear voice, tons of bass, a subwoofer that never goes out or pops like my Vizio did. I am truly enjoying the Dolby Atmos also that is on this. Another plus that I will point out is the very easy to use remote. I was able to figure it out within minutes. The help center online is also a plus it helps guide people that need help on figuring out certain functions on the remote or sound bar. Again this is really a Great soundbar that goes very well with my TV. Word of advice, never by his sound bar that is the same as the TV brand. Always buy something that is from a company that deals with sound bars or sound systems specifically. Nakamichi is by far my favorite brand, and I look forward to Buy more items from them in the future.

This is NOT your average soundbar!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this amazing Nakamichi soundbar for a few months now, and for the money I spent, nothing I’ve had comes close! Sound cones at you from every direction, clear and loud, filling up the room wonderfully, particularly when a Dolby Atmos signal is playing. The subwoofer is just insane, but the large remote gives you the ability to control it, and whatever else, wuickly and easily. I went from a typical receiver and multi speaker combo to using just the Nakamichi for everything and I’ve not looked back! Buy it. You won’t be disappointed!

Buyer beware
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very annoyed. For such an expensive sound system from Japan, I'd expect near perfection. However, within 24 hours of owning and getting set up, the left rear surround speaker will not stop buzzing, no matter what. Messed with Wifi settings, speaker and subwoofer location, even switched out the cable that connects the speaker to the subwoofer. Nothing worked. Already boxed it up and returning to the store. Very sad because it sounds amazing

Impressive Nakamichi 7.1.4 system with quick setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Item was open-box type, received in excellent condition (like new), in 2 days. Initially, bluetooth interfered badly with my home WiFi, took me 3 days to realize that and resolve it by changing Bluetooth channel. Very impressed with sound quality. Lot of remote control options. Wireless subwoofer and surround sound speakers was the best selling point and the world renowned Nakamichi brand. Recommended to my brother-in-law and he already purchased this unit. My brother is now considering.

Amazing Soundbar system!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nakamichi is an awesome surround sound soundbar system. This will be my second Nakamichi Soundbar. I previously had the older model with the smaller sub and it was and still is great. I upgraded solely for the eARC functionality but was surprised the new model had a bigger sub. The bass kicks! It's a down firing sub and you can really feel it underneath your feet and shaking the walls. Sound clarity is also amazing. Before my first Nakamichi I had an LG Soundbar and the Nakamichi blows it away. Overall very satisfied with my purchase and I recommend the Nakamichi to anyone looking for something that doesn't take up a lot of space yet packs a punch!

insane surround!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The surround sound is fantastic, with this insane large subwoofer that shakes the whole room, so neighbors beware. It isn't perfect as there was some wifi interference I had to deal with, which is easily solved by switching channels. Setup is about as easy as it gets, no fuss or issues. For the price, it's a must get, super happy with the purchase.

Excellent Home Theater with Dolby Atmos and eARC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent home theater system with Dolby Atmos. Set up is very easy and it works very well with my TV eARC and Apple TV and PS5. It's plenty loud at low volume setting for me with very punchy bass from the sub. Was considering Samsung and Vizio system but I'm glad I went with the Nakamichi.

The best of the best, tiny shortcoming.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, I ordered this soundbar with minimal expectations (well, maybe not minimal - after all it is Nakamichi). However with that said, I have been in search of a really good soundbar system after running with what I thought good of several years. It was 'V' soundbar and had pretty good sound. However it was getting old so I started trying some new ones. 'S' brand was just ok... returned. a 'P' brand was good but bass just didn't quite punch enough... returned (and I apologize for the returns. All were in the 350-700 range and I was ready to just give up and settle on something less than great. Well, I looked closely and hit on the Nakamichi Shockwave, originally looking at the previous model with smaller sub woofer but decided not to go cheap and spent the extra 100 bucks and have ZERO regrets. The Shockwave 7.1.4 was exactly what I was looking for, great sound all around, great highs, punchy base and perfect sound for the bedroom (12x18ft). The sound fills the room around our 65" Samsung OLED, between the 2 a perfect movie experience. Perhaps one tiny shortcoming, I wish I had better control over the rear speaker volume levels, they seem to be tied too closely to the volume of the sub woofer and generally I like more rear filling in than less. Just not quite there for this set but not worth taking a star off. Better than 4 stars, almost 5 but not having ultimate control over independent rear speaker volume brings these to 4.7 stars.
