I really wanted to love these speakers but they have been nothing but trouble since I purchased them in March 2021. First my wireless router was interfering with the signal and so I bought a new router and that lessened the problem but didn't resolve it. I found out then that my roku needed to be upgraded so I bought a new one. Then the soundbar started freezing a few times a week and wouldn't respond and has to be reset every time. A few times a week the sound gets very dostorted and I have to reset the soundbar. Unless you have a degree in electrical engineering (mine is only in chemical engineering) and endless patience, I would recommend you skip these. I wish I would have returned this when I had the chance.

After having these speakers for 2 months, they began to static and be unclear. Unfortunately the return period ended now I'm stuck with this merchandise that's not worth the $1,800 I spent on it.

Great Soudbar with Atmos-Recomended for Audiophile

I bought “Nakamichi Shockwafe 9.2.4 SSE” about 6 months back & enjoying the Superior sound quality as expected. This is from a die-hard Nakamichi fan, following them from their golden era of Dragon series audio systems. Done a lot of studies from forums & reviews and finally decided to buy the new model with Dolby Atmos support built-in (I know firmware update was given for old models to enjoy the Atmos). So far, I am enjoying the soundbar expecially added benefit from 2 subwoofers (twin 10" woofers with Superb Earth-shaking Bass). Watched some Blu-ray titles and Netflix series found this is great sounding system I am happy that I took the right decision for my choice. They are Excellent choice for both audiophiles or for movie watching & listening to music. Nothing more Nothing less this will surpass many so called Superior & expensive Audio systems. "Sound quality at its Peak" , that's how I define for those who are not experienced or new to Nakamichi brand. Having Experienced a few Audiophile Earphones & listening to high resolution music files, From my experience It will be top notch Audio system as a Media room setup.

I’m not impressed. Two subwoofers and the bass is seriously lacking. Maybe if Nakamichi gave a better equalizer control for the end user it would be better. My old Vizio 5.1 it replaced had better performing bass! I really thought two subs would be awesome. Nothing further from the truth. I’ve tried every possible location For the subs hoping to get an improvement but to no avail. I did use a frequency generator via Bluetooth and they will easily hit 30hz but during normal use, the bass settings via the remote just doesn’t pull the low end out.

    Amazing Soundbar

This soundbar is just simply amazing. It's very easy to hook up and the atmos is top notch, and makes me feel like I'm really at the theatre. I just love sitting and watching movies with the family and friends and people are just amazed because sound just seems to come from all around you. The dual 10 inch woofers are just stunning as the bass shakes and rumbles at just the right moment, and it just sounds very clean. Music and video games also sound stunning with this soundbar and every sound effect just comes out sounding top notch. Just an all around amazing soundbar worth every single penny.

Amazing soundbar. Gets super loud, surround is awesome, and the dual subwoofers make the sweet spot the whole room. Takes a bit longer to switch between hdmi inputs but that's no big deal to me. Love that the subs are wireless and rear and side speakers hook up to them so i don't have to run wires through my floor or ceiling. All channel stereo is nice for music as well. Dolby atomos is crazy realistic. Feels like you're in the movie. These big name companies don't hold a candle to what nakamichi offers for the money especially if you get a system on sale.

The salesperson at Best buy recommended this system even though there wasn't one available to hear in the store. Her face was full of exuberance as she raved on about it and then another associate joined in her high praise for this soundbar. Their conclusion was this was the best soundbar on the market at this price point. not sure about all of that but compared to everything I've had a chance to listen to BOY WERE THEY RIGHT!!! This system is just WOW. At least for movies it is. Music, it's very loud and very bass heavy, so if music playback is why you're buying this you may not be overly impressed. But if you're looking for a system that you'll be simply amazed when watching movies and want to feel like IMAX theatre is in your home than this is the system you've been looking. Setup is easy. It's not a wireless system completely. The surround speakers are wired to the two 10 inch subwoofers and you'll want to grab a set of speaker stands for the surround speakers. The wires weren't a drawback for me personally due to the speaker stands made it easier to conceal them. I'm not sure if you'd want this in an apartment or small room it would probably be overkill. But in a larger room(our living room is 22 x 18 with vaulted ceiling) the sound is just WOW!!! Netflix, Amazon video, Hulu and Disney content is just WOW! Probably due to covid-19, was never going to go to a movie theater again, but definitely won't go with this in my home. This is simply an amazing soundbar. Again WOW

Powerful sound, great buy for the money

I purchased this soundbar over its competitors (JBL Bar, Sonos Arc) due for multiple HDMI inputs, Dolby Atmos support, discrete surround speakers, and the dual subwoofer setup. Most other reviewers have everything covered, so I'll just list the one thing I like most about the bar, and the one thing I like least. What I like most -- obviously, the sound! The bass is quite powerful, and the surrounds really help create a nice soundstage. For TV, there are nice dialogue enhancement options, and for movies, nice surround settings as well. There are numerous settings to get the sound dialed in to your taste, which brings me to the one thing I don't like. What I like least -- there are so many settings, all controlled from the remote, and its not always clear how the settings interact with each other. It took me a few weeks of fiddling with all of the settings to get the sound that I liked. All said, this is a great soundbar, particularly for the extra HDMI inputs, surrounds (that only need to be plugged into the subs), an d powerful dual subs.

    Awesome sound!

It's makes movies and games sound amazing! Everything sounds great on it, especially if you plug the hdmi directly into the soundbar. If you have a dolby atmos capable device, like the xbox one x, it takes the sound to a whole new level. I also have a chromecast plugged into the soundbar and it makes it easy to play music from my phone on the speakers. You can adjust the bass, treble, amount of sound from each speaker, and more settings from the remote. Since there are 2 presets you can save, I use one for games and one for music. There are also auto-set buttons "music", "movie", "game". I arranged the speakers with the side speakers aligned vertically and the rear speakers aligned sideways, and the subwoofers on opposite corners. Any way you set it up it should sound great. I strongly recommend this sound system, the two subs really makes it above the competition. Note: I used the speaker stands that were recommended from Nakamichi on their site.

    CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Ill make this short and sweet, THis system isnt perfect but the closest your going to get to a near cinematic big screen experience! PROS: 9.2.4, DUALL 10" subs atmos is a whole experience with this sytem. Future proofed 2.1 hdmi, earc, dolby vision pass through, sleek design, Usefull remote. Use upgraded hdmi cable with apple or any streaming device box. CONS: REQUIRES some space big subs. Not a totally wireless sytem rears connect to a sub so gotta cord manage. It cuts out when your near a wireless router interferes with tue bluetooth so youll either have to relocate router or turn off signal broadcast when watching atmos to get the most out of system! I had in my bedroom at first and was amazing no pronlems at all relocated to the loft where i keep the router and this is where i started experiencing the wifi router issue. Lastly every now and then the sound gets high pitch and staticky all you do is hit surround off then back on and fixed!

To be honest, I have never pondered so much before buying anything online, as I did with this purchase but I am glad to say it worked out well at the end :) . We have a large living room (> 800sqft) and our old Vizio wasn't cutting it anymore which is why I wanted to upgrade. I also lacked the time and knowledge to research and build my own 9.1 home theatre system so decided to with the Nakamichi soundbar after reading all the reviews. As far as the product goes, the soundbar quality is quite impressive. Just the soundbar itself, without the rear speakers, sounded great and when the whole system was assembled, we loved it. Had a few issues with the initial setup but the helpdesk team was prompt with their responses and helped me figure out the right setup. It also comes with an impressive remote which is fairly simple to operate and very functional. The setup was fairly simple, and 6 months on, we are quite happy with our purchase. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a music system for a large living room. Also, would recommend upgrading to 4K Roku if you really want to enjoy Netflix and other streaming services. if there was a downside, I guess the biggest downside for me was that it doesn't play well with Google assistant. Also,

This is my second purchase from Nakamichi . I previously had the 7.2 shockwafe and recently purchased the 9.2 and couldn't be happier. The 9.2 is a step up from the 7.2 in overall sound especially with the recent atmos update. . Nakamichi has great response and customer service and responds very quickly to any issues or questions. They sent me out a replacement speaker at no charge in the past for my 7.2!. I have a xbox1x and nividia shield paired up with the 9.2 and it sounds awesome! Setup is easy i would recommend the shockwafe forum on AVS site for tips and current upcoming software info. I do believe this is the best current soundbar combo available for overall price and sound. I have owned sony and Samsung in the past and the shockwafe is hands down better. Plus Nakamichi has free software updates ..

I absolutely LOVE my new surround sound system by Nakamichi! Hands down the best system out there for the price and the quality is top notch! Especially when you compare it to its competitors! Set up was incredibly simple with the step by step instructions provided in the box. I love the fact that the TWO subs are wireless and absolute monsters! Seeing setups from friends and family of their sound entertainment systems I was never a fan of all the wires running everywhere... Not with this setup! It's amazing how much of a difference a good set of speakers does to your tv/movie watching experience. 100% satisfied with my purchase!!!

I did a LOT of research before taking the plunge and couldn't be happier. I'm not an audiophile but I am a cinema-phile so I appreciate sound even if I haven't been able to afford a decent system before now. In my opinion this provides movie theater quality sound at home. My living room is medium sized and my couch backs up against a wall so I have limited options for the surround sound configuration but thrilled with the end result. The base, courtesy of the dual subwoofers, is both powerful and ambient. The volume and clarity are impressive and I almost never go above ~22. I'm pleased that the sound bar has 3 HDMI inputs which saves on the cost of an amp. Thanks Nakamichi!

Amazing soundbar system. There is nothing close to this system available in the market. I bought Samsung 7.1.2. It didn't sound what I was looking for. This Nakamichi soundbar system is a complete package. It took me a while to set it up but easiest way to setup is follow the instruction on the manual. I love the way it sounds. Subwoofers are amazing. Sound quality is amazing. Only thing that I didn't like was the remote control. Its way too big. Smaller remote will make me happy. Otherwise 10/10.
