The best Soundbar today....

All I can say is I have had high end Receivers / Home Theaters for my main room and also other Sound Bars for my bedroom, but that's the past. This Nakamichi 9.2 Sound Bar belongs in the heart of my home. No more in just the bedrooms. The set up was simple, remember to make sure you use HDMI 2.0 cables...... If you do, it's a blast to hook up, turn on and HOLD ON for the greatest sound for your Home Theater. I will make this short and sweet... Buy It!!!! You will be thrilled you did.........and with Atmos on the way very soon this will be the soundbar of 2019 and beyond...

The Best High-End Soundbar System

I recently had a chance to listen to the Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 soundbar system be tested against 2 other high end soundbar systems (Creative X-Fi and Sony HT-ST5000) in a private showing that was representative of how it would perform in a typical living room and blew the others away. Do not shy away from this soundbar system if you are looking for something that can handle the Dolby Atmos standard. The Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 easily provided the most clear and immersive sound while viewing samples that test the Shockwafe's ability to handle the Dolby Atmos and DTS standard. Best of all was the price of this system, it was the cheapest of the high-end soundbar systems, but it easily performed the best.

This thing is loud, the two subwoofers in my opinion are overkill when watching a movie, however, my girlfriend loved it. I had them all the way down and the bass was still vibrating the house and couch. If you want an over the top system that is loud this is it. If you want a true movie experience, look no further. Nakachimi knocked it out of the park with this one and I can say that I am looking forward to more movies.

I gave it a 5 star rating because not only does this soundbar sound great and powerful (maybe too powerful for my apartment lol) but their customer service is top notch. I was having a problem with my TV (samsung 65ks8000) and the nvidia shield. They tried their best to help my with both products! Come to find out the Tv was the problem. But they helped me out with a work around! I even have got my family members to purchase this!

I was able to compare this soundbar to other more expensive soundbars during a blind sound off. This one kept its own especially with the price point it offers. Provided true surround sound given its 4 side/rear speaker system. Not to mention it includes two wireless subwoofers that it comes with. Definitely the best bang for the buck!

Earth Shuttering Sweet Sound and Woofs!

I had no interest in any Soundbar system to replace my expensive and complicated receiver-controlled surround sound system at home until I saw the web reviews of Nakamichi soundbars and decided that I should give it a try and bought the Ultra 9.2 model. Boy, was I blown out of my socks. With dual 10-inch 470 watts (total according to their website) subwoofs, the thundering bass is so clean and amazing. I consider this system the easiest to setup compared to wired and complicated system such as the one I'm using, I even consider it portable meaning you can relocate the system in another room in no time. My wife is a big complainer of a loud surround at home but she loves the Ultra 9.2 model. Nakamichi is the only one that makes the 9.2.4 configuration and they did in an elite manner as they used t when they made high-end system components in the past. Make sure you have enough room for the 2 monster subwoofs tho and they are heavy too indicating high performing power transformers and amps. and components inside.

I have been reading positive reviews about this product and couldn't find one for display to check. Finally I had bought the product couple of months ago and to my surprise, it exceeded my expectations and the sound is incredible. It replaced my Bose 5.1 surround system. Glad to make the right choice. Waiting to get Dolby Atmos support for this system. DTS:X titles sound perfect complementing the picture.

Look no further if you want TWO (2) 10" subwoofers and sound that rivals, if not beats, a competing product sold direct for nearly $6000. Voted Best Value at a recent (blind test) audiophile society shootout.

Best Bass and Effects at High-End Soundbar Battle

I heard the set at a Soundbar Battle at the CES event in Las Vegas last week.
There were 3-rounds in the blind-test with content from Dolby, DTS and 2 movies.
While the other 2 soundbars had good Bass or Effects, the Nakamichi had clearly better Bass and Effects overall in all 3-rounds. I was surprised to find that the Creative set which was over $5000, could not match the effects from the Nakamichi.

I attended at sound bar comparison demo at CES 2018 that did a blind sampling of 3 different sound bars in a common setting. There were a series of formats played for each sound bar, and each participant ranked their favorites in each round. At the end everyone picked their favorites, and everyone revealed their rankings. The Nakamichi SoundWave Ultra 9.2 was by far the winner in each category, for each person in the audience. The prices were shown, after the rankings and I was amazed at the value of this product. I will definitely be purchasing this for my den.

Not sure why these are not carried in stores. My guess is shelf space cost money.
I watched John Wick 1 in 4k and I felt like is was raining in my room. I currently have an xbox x and the best Sony led you can buy.
Of note if your are having intermitint audio cut outs it is the media source and not the sound bar. Go onto nakamichi forum and see the correct setting for what you are watching ie. Netflix or youtube.

I bought this sound system for my movie theater in my basement. The theater is a big room so I searched for a long while for a system that would provide me with an adequate amount of sound to fill the room. After extensive research, I ended up purchasing the the Nakamichi 9.2 soundbar system and let me say that it blew me away. The sound is incredible!! It fills my entire basement with amazing sound and the drivers that they have built into the soundbar converts the sound flawlessly into 9.2 channels. I get many complements from friends and family who have watched movies in my theater. If you are on the fence on buying this product, don't be its awesome and it surely won't disappoint. Also, the customer support is amazing and they will help you connect the soundbar system to any media equipment and send you tons of helpful pdf's with step by step instructions. So what are you waiting for, BUY IT!!

This soundbar system replaced by Bose system. I have waited for soundbar systems to include true surround speakers. I considered both the Bose system with side and rear speakers and this system. For the price I thought I would take a chance and see if people were just blowing smoke about how good the system is. I have to say it's quite clear and shines when it's receiving a Dolby or DTS signal. The remote requires a very specific sweet spot to control the unit. My harmony hub really helped with that so I don't have to use the remote. Overall a solid recommendation.

I recently purchased this item due to overwhelming good reviews online. I'm wondering if these reviews are fake or I just got a dud. The remote is terrible and from 15 feet away it would not recognize a command. Also, it could not be programmed to either my tv remote or my comcast remote. I have an old vizio soundbar that sounded exactly the same. Perhaps I didn't give the system enough chance but with these issues and this price I decided to go with a different brand.

Brand response from Nakamichi Support

Hi hershizzle, Thank you for your feedback. We are 100% certain that PCM audio is sent to the soundbar, thereby causing audio to be average at best. If you press the INFO button on the remote twice, you can see if you are getting PCM, Dolby or DTS. Getting a Dolby or DTS signal is critical for the soundbar to output the best sound. All devices are capable of outputting Dolby or DTS but it does require a small adjustment in the audio settings of the source device. As for the remote, the common issue is the aim angle because it does get a little time to get used to, by tilting the remote down by 15-25 degrees makes a huge difference as the infrared is located right under the soundbar lcd display. Lastly, we have already dedicated a product expert to handle your case. Please send an email to [email protected] and we will be in touch immediately.
Cheers, Nakamichi USA

This surround system met all my wants for sound. This was perfect for a living room that had no way of hiding wires. The subs and satellites are wireless. Everything runs through the soundbar. Exceptional pass-thru to the TV. 4K HDR pictures and full surround sound. Highly recommended.

Not good in tribble and vocals. Not crisp sound. Bass are so strong in some instant it has a whacking sound on the subwoofer. It looks like the subwoofer will blow up. And humm.
I return the unit. I stick with my Bose 700. Nice and crisp sound.
