This is a great baby monitor!
it has so many great features that I think it's worth looking into.
The monitor is easy to set up, even for someone who's not very technologically savvy. From the unboxing to being full set up, it took less than 10 minutes! The monitor gives a birdeye view of the baby instead of more of a "room view". It has great night vision quality. I felt that the day picture was decent. I love that it also monitors the temperature and humidity of the room. You can hear your baby as well as speak to him/her.
I wish it had a feature to notify you if the baby was removed or got out of crib . Also be aware that since your are utilizing your phone it can drain your battery quickly.
Overall though, great baby monitor that I highly recommend!

Amazing Baby Monitor

I've tried cloud cams and a purpose-built baby cam with its own handheld device, and the Nanit Plus Baby Monitor blows both out of the water in *ALMOST* every way.
What's to like:
+Amazing picture quality. You can see every detail of your baby in both day and night conditions. Like many newborns, our baby tends to fuss when she spits out her pacifier. With our other standalone baby monitor, the picture was too grainy to see if she had her pacifier. With the Nanit, you can clearly see if the baby has her pacifier or not.
+Excellent App and set-up with iOS. We are iPhone users and the app was seamless to set-up and share parenting roles by just inviting via email. There was one minor annoyance in the app that required you to input a due date, even though our daughter was already born.
+Wonderful build quality. The cabling is that soft rubber sleeving and overall the device feels like it could be made by Apple, Samsung, or any other high-end tech/lifestyle company. The camera clicks into the wall base and there is cable covering included to protect the cable from coming loose.
+Awesome performance even away from home. I can legitimately view what is going on live in my baby's crib even when I am work with little performance quality issues. No set-up is needed, Nanit handles all of the networking from your home over the internet to your mobile device.
+Ability to keep background sound on, even while the app is not up and focused. This is important for night monitoring, you just hit the sound button on the app until the background sound is toggled and you will hear room noise even while the app is not in focus or the phone is locked.
+Easy to open the app while locked, just bring up lock screen which shows the Nanit icon and then tap it and the app opens up.
What can be improved upon:
-The "notifications" are just the phone notifications with a message bar and a ping chime, as any other notification on your phone would be. It would be nice if Nanit could somehow customize their notification to have a different chime, to chime even when the phone is in silent mode, and to maybe flash the flashlight or screen and TURN THE SCREEN ON, when the baby makes a loud noise or a lot of sustained movement. This is the one area my standalone baby monitor is better, it has a LED green or orange bar and makes a loud chime when the baby triggers.
-You can leave the screen on during the night, make sure your phone is plugged in to allow the app to stay open so you can see your baby, but this can be a problem for OLED phones and burn-in.
-The Nanit Insight is an awesome sleep metrics tracker, but its behind a subscription. While the subscription is a reasonable $50 a year, it would be nice if this was included for free with such an expensive device that is really just a solid cloud cam and excellent software that runs on YOUR expensive and powerful phone as the monitor device.
-Does require relatively modern/powerful hardware. Our iPad Mini would not run the Nanit app adequately. Very slow start-up and laggy/grainy picture.
-Alexa integration is nominal. Just a few chat voice tricks but no native app or ability to view your baby on an Echo Show or Spot like you can with Amazon Web Cams.
Overall this is an excellent Baby monitor, possibly the best one, and it will only continue to get better. Lets hope they integrate some of these suggestions in the app instead of a new generation of hardware, because it is possible to do so without charging the customer for an upgrade.

Smarter Baby Monitor

I love that I can check on my baby from anywhere. My old wireless monitor would often lose connection when working in the garage or sitting on my patio, this is not any issue with Nanit.
The camera is clear, has good audio and a remotely controlled night light. The hardware is well built and the included cord management is a great feature. I do wish that the portable stand was included (a table stand and pole type stand can be purchased separately if the wall mount doesn’t work for you or you want more options).
Where this camera really shines is the application. I love the sleep tracking and I use the event recording / time lapse way more often than I thought I would. The ability to keep the audio open when using other applications is awesome. There are a few things that need a little work. I wish the movement and noise notifications were more persistent and sometimes just going into the nursery gets recorded as a event. A one year trial of sleep tracking and event viewing was provided for free, but you should consider the cost if those features are your main reason for purchasing this monitor.
I could have recommended this monitor based on the camera quality alone, but the smart features really work.

PROS
-Camera quality
-Design of product, including cord cover
-App on phone for monitoring
-Simple setup
CONS
-Continuously “disconnects”. Let me stop you before you tell me that it is “too far away from the router” or “you need better internet”, the unit is 20 feet from the router, we pay for the best possible internet. The first week we had the camera this was a nightly occurrence, has went down to 3-4 times a week since then. Leaves us sneaking around our son’s room trying to unplug the unit to reset, hoping he doesn’t wake up.
-Sleep insights are very disappointing, almost useless. One of my new daily tasks is correcting/reporting all of the false insights from the previous night. My personal favourite is when it tells me that my son was “taken out of bed asleep” at 2:20am and still hasn’t returned.
-Audio is terrible. When the volume is higher than 50% the white noise is intolerable. We previously had a wifi cam that when the app was in the background the audio would still come through as long as you weren’t using your audio with something else...not the case with this, and wouldn’t even be effective because of the white noise. They recommend “sleep mode” which is leaving your phone on, and open, all night. Not horrible because you can obviously charge your phone while doing so, but again the white noise comes into play.
For the outrageous price I expected the world, and barely received functioning. I am blown away at how highly rated this product is, couldn’t be more misleading. We were fixated on getting a wifi monitor because were we previously spoiled (company discontinued monitoring / went out of business) but now realize our mistake. Expensive does not signify performance with wifi cams, just more “fluff” that isn’t really useful. This product will not alleviate your stress while baby is in the crib, rather accentuate it because when you go to check it, it’s probably “trying to reconnect”...your cue to begin the mission to unplug the unit.
After reviewing my review, I feel 2 stars is generous.

Insightful monitor

We are using this monitor for our second child, currently 10 months old. We have had basic video monitors, plain sound monitors, and "fancier" video monitors, none of which hooked up to our cell phones in the past. I love that it alerts me on my phone and apple watch when there is sound or motion detected in the crib. I will say it is a bit overly sensitive to these things at times. I like being able to see her and see if there are barriers to her putting herself back to sleep. I also really like the summary videos and advice that it gives me weekly about how to help her sleep better.
Con - it is an expensive monitor and the insight summary/teachings cost a monthly fee after a free month trial. Our previous monitor had 2 cameras and one receiver so we could see both girls' rooms. We didn't want to pay another big fee to buy another camera so now we have 2 different monitor systems. Overall, I have been very impressed with the picture quality, ease of use, and reliability of the monitor.

I love it bc I can see my baby where ever there’s Wi-Fi. I use it with my toddler and have another one on the way and see there’s a new split screen option which is amazing! The actual camera can be moved up and down and side to side to ensure proper positioning, which I love. Sometimes when my toddler is in the room, I adjust the camera so that I can watch her from the kitchen.
Only downside was some glitches/delay a few months ago, but that was fixed.

I love my nanit! It’s awesome to have access from your phone, which is always on me anyway. I don’t have to think about carrying around a separate monitor to keep an eye out. The picture quality is so clear and the notifications about noises/motion is game changing. When my baby starts to stir i get alerted so it’s not too late that she’s already crying to be changed or fed. I highly recommend! It’s also really convenient I can share control of the app with my husband so both of us have access to the picture. I plan to buy the stand so I can have the camera be used when we travel.

It's a great camera and the install is the cleanest and easiest of all of them that I've used. My only real complaint is that it doesn't have much smart capability unless you have the special wearables as well. I wish it could show motion tracing or detect breathing based on movement alone, or anything to show you that the baby is OK. The quality of the hardware and app is really good though, but not sure it's worth the price versus other options.

This camera has by far been the Best baby camera we have bought! We purchased several cameras before but I never fully felt confident in any of them as I do with Nanit. Some would lose connection, some had horrible night vision and others I wasn’t quite sure if it was truly safe. As first time parents we of course worried and continue to worry about everything and we wanted peace of mind knowing our little one was safe at night. This camera will tell you the temperature and humidity of your baby’s room and will alert you if either one of those go out of range. It will also alert you if there is movement and sound in the crib. The insight membership truly is worth it because you can track your baby’s sleep progression. It breaks everything down in videos and you can make notes and add family members to the live feed. Also, did I mention you can watch your baby sleep from anywhere! So when I work late, I still can’t see my son sleeping. Nanit also has a very tightknit security system which was one of the main reasons why we decided to go with Nanit. Our baby’s security was our main priority. So if you are questioning whether you should get this product or not. Do yourself a favor and stop stressing and reading and endless reviews (because, I did the same thing) just buy the camera. It is so worth it!

Everything you could possibly ask for in a smart baby monitor! You don't have to use all of the insights but it does an amazing job of record keeping so you know exactly how long it's been since you've put the baby down and figure out your baby's sleeping patterns. Built-in Nightlight and Sound machine too! Two-way mic and speaker. This camera does it all. Only drawback is that you can only mount it on the long side of the crib.

This Nanit plus WiFi baby monitor is amazing. Simple to setup, very clear picture and very decent sound quality from the small far away mic. Took me about 15 minutes to set up. Although I didn’t use the included wire hiders. I didn’t need them. So should take max of 30 minutes to set up. The camera connects through WiFi via the nanit free app. The app is very well designed. Ease of use is important for a tech savvy and non techys alike. A+ there. The app allows you to monitor not only the baby or toddlers. It has a button to speak to them through the camera itself. Big plus for us. The app tracks sleeping habits too. Also there is a neat feature where you can turn a night light on which is located on the back of the unit itself. Smart. You would think every manufacturer would include this. Nanit did. Awesome. Design is typical like many other monitor or security systems. But build quality does seem sturdy and well made. The camera through the app can/will tell you the actual temperature and humidity. Amazing feature. Since babies need to be kept 100% comfortable. Very well thought out product. Nicely package. Better safe than not. This will help ease your mind. Our babies are everything and they need us. This just takes some of the load off of mom or dad. Great job NaNit. We love it!!!

I spent hours watching reviews before deciding on the nanit camera. I'm glad I did. The interface on the app is very user friendly and all features work well. It's a little bit expensive, bit the peace of mind you get when using it with the breathing wear is worth every penny.

Best investment I have made since my little man was born! His room is pretty far from mine so having this makes sleeping at night so much easier. Also his grandma and aunts love that they can look at him at any time!
