This thing has not worked since day one. Off and on temperature/humidity readings, some days it would work then would stop working for a week and the only way to fix is to unplug in specific order, etc. Try something else.

We've had this monitor for a few months now and I really like it! It was very easy to install and set up. I really like the clean look. It comes with a cord cover so you don't have messy cords hanging down for your baby to grab. I really like the birds eye view. With the monitor we had for my older son we had the camera mounted in the corner of the room so I would have to scan to see the whole crib. With the nanit there's no scanning because it all fits into the screen. I love that the monitor is an app on your phone. Now I don't have to worry about having a separate thing charged. When your baby moves or makes sounds it will send you a notification. If you're using the included sound machine it doesn't send these but in the middle of the night I'm fine with that. Speaking of that I love the built in sound machine. It's not super loud (maybe I just haven't figured out how to turn it up yet?) but it's enough to muffle sounds. There is a 2 way talk system that works well. One of the best things about this monitor is my husband getting to see our babies on the screen while he's at work. He gets the notifications and can check in. Sometimes he will work long stretches so he loves being able to check in on them. The quality when the room is light is excellent and full color. When the lights are out it looks like black and white. It's not as clear, but it's still pretty good. Another fun feature is the camera. You can capture images through the app. I've only had this monitor since last month but so far I really don't have any complaints about it! I'm considering getting the alternate base to be able to see the whole room in a few months when my babies get more mobile. For now the base that comes with it is perfect.

    Amazing Video Quality

The Nanit doesn't have a dedicated video monitor. It only links to your smart phone or other devices where the app can be downloaded. That's a bit weird but that really isn't a big deal since I have my phone around me most of the time. Setup was a little tricky. When you open the box the only way to get the setup instructions is to download the app first. There is no paperwork in the box saying how to install the camera and to get it running. From opening the box, installing the app, to getting the camera up and running took about an hour and a half. The app is easy to navigate once set up. There are a few features that takes about a week to kick in and start working. You can view information on the current day or look back and see how past nights have been. Nanit Insights, their paid service, sends you a weekly email summarizing your babies sleep patterns for that week. It gives you tips to improve sleep and other things. That seems like it will be helpful. The Nanit has temperature and humidity that is on the live view of the crib and you can set an alert to go off when they go out of a range for your desired temp and humidity levels which seems kind of unique to baby monitors. We have been using this monitor for about a week now. I've had a few issues with connection being lost or cutting in and out. It's happened about once a day at various times. A few hours after it was first put in, it got dark and the camera was having an issue figuring out light from dark The camera made a clicking noise. I moved the camera a little bit and seemed to fix the issue. It hasn't happened since. I have noticed is that sometimes the monitor counts multiple "visits" when it should only be one. It seems to happens when I am in the room and maybe a shadow triggers there is something going on. It's not a big deal but is a little annoying having to go back everyday and erase all of them that didn't happen. Going back and changing these things will make the Nanit Insights summary more accurate. So if you are using it as a tracking device then it's important to do. Overall, the Nanit plus is a great monitor. The picture is amazing. It's fun to be out and see see what's going on, a plus to it being an app on your phone. As far as a tracker.... there's definitely work to be done to improve that. I wouldn't really trust the data completely. Going back and editing helps but can still have things that make the data incorrect. But still a very nice easy device to use and I'd recommend it. So much better then other ones I've seen. Oh, and one more thing, it doesn't use batteries so no worry about charging. Of course you have to have an outlet nearby but not having to do any charging is a huge plus.

    An evolved baby monitor!

This is a huge evolution compared to my first-born's IP camera from 6 years ago. This baby monitor is a great combination of hardware and software. There are things that are a little cliche about cameras these days-- higher resolution, low light capability, accessible from anywhere. What I liked about this baby monitor is bringing all of these features together and making monitoring so much better! First, installation is easy, so non-handy single moms will not have a hard time putting this up. The wall bracket-- which I honestly think is very brilliant providing a great view of the crib. I cannot believe no one thought of this a while back-- it is pretty simple. And the quality of the camera material-- it fits nicely in the nice crib with its finish look. I mean, we spend so much time making the baby room look pretty-- the last thing you want is a crappy piece at the center or the crib where everyone goes. Hardware itself is well thought out. Onto the software, the app is a great companion vs. lugging a separate monitor around the house. Although I know we parents have seen a lot of other smart cameras with this mobility-- being able to do two-way sound, remote monitoring, etc. (by the way, kudos to the sound playing over other apps on the phone-- another great simple feature!). What makes it really different is the sleep tracker. Though it tracks movements and logs times, like any other data, information is nothing without you assessing the data points. It is great that there is data collection but I still had to look at trends or combinations, when a movement is a real movement, what triggered a real "sleep", how visits affect the subsequent events tracked. It is great but just needs a little analysis on the parents' part. Long story short, it is not perfect and can come as just another monitor-- but I don't think any other monitor out there has placed most of the good things we want in ONE package. As of now, I think, this is a parents' wish list device and the best baby monitor so far!

I received this item for free in exchange for my honest review. This is the third baby monitor that I've tried, but the first without a parent unit. I wasn't sure I would like having to use my phone/iPad as the receiver, but it's really not bad. The picture quality on this is truly amazing, I love it! The sleep features on the app are really cool, but after a 30 day trial period you have to pay for this. I'm not sure it will be worth it for me, but we'll see. I do like seeing the time-lapse videos they have though! Pros: - The picture quality is AMAZING! You get a full HD view of the crib, and can also take photos straight from the app. - Set up was so easy! It took no time at all and could not have been easier. - The app functions well and the alerts for sound and movement are really nice. Cons: - The app seems to drain my phone battery pretty quickly. My phone is not new, so that could definitely be part of the problem. - There is no way to really adjust the camera, so while this is amazing for a baby in a crib, you will not be able to see the rest of the room once the child is no longer sleeping in their crib. I don't think it will be as long lasting as some other monitors. - The cord is really, really long. Our outlet is not very far away from the crib, so we have a lot of excess cord.

We have a 1 month old baby and adding the Nanit Plus to our household provides a great benefit to monitoring and tracking him. The initial setup is easy with step-by-step directions. I have been using it for a few days now and I love it. We have not mounted the monitor to the wall yet since our baby will not be sleeping in his bedroom crib until about 6 months. Instead, we have been able to move it from room to room and prop it up securely at the end of the bassinet or crib. I have an android phone and my wife has an iPhone. There was no issue using the software to view and monitor the cam from either phone. Plus, we can both view it at the same time with no issue. I love the feature that allowed me to monitor the crib from my phone while I was out of the house running errands or at work. The camera provides HD quality so you don’t miss a thing. You can pinch to zoom in, remotely talk or play sounds, and track sleep history all from the app. Even with the phone screen off, you can still listen to any activity or set up pop-up notifications based on baby movement or sound alerts. As of this review, 1 year of the Insights program is included free. This is an optional paid feature that shows the sleep tracking history and monitoring statistics. You can use the Nanit without having the subscription, but it is an adding benefit to this camera. Overall, I am impressed by the quality of the camera and software. There are many features that you can tweak to suit your needs with regards to the notification pop-ups or sound output. I would recommend this for anyone that wants peace of mind when their baby is put down to sleep or just daily monitoring when you have a busy lifestyle and can’t always hover over your babies’ crib 24/7.

This is a great baby monitor! Although it is more expensive than most monitors, it has so many great features that I think it's worth the extra cost. The monitor is easy to set up, even for someone who's not very technologically savvy like me. From the unboxing to being full set up, it took less than 10 minutes! The monitor gives a birdeye view of the baby instead of more of a "room view". It has great picture quality even in nightvision mode. I love that it also monitors the temperature and humidity. You can hear your baby as well as speak to him/her. I wish that it had a separate parent monitor instead of using your smartphone only however. I know some parents would like not having a separate monitor but I find that it drains my battery down. Overall though, great baby monitor that I highly recommend!

Future your Baby Monitoring, with Nanit!

The Nanit Plus Baby Monitor is the newest smart home technology you will want to get your hands on. Some baby monitors on the market offer technology, but, they are not the "smartest" out there; Nanit is here to change your mind.  Unboxing and installing: The Nanit comes with the camera, stand/wall mount, a long power cable with cable concealing included (plastic concealers that stick to the wall and hide the 10' + cord), and mounting hardware. Everything was easy to put together, including the plastic concealing (it includes a sticky backside to stick to the wall). However, the mounting screws are made cheap. I appreciate Nanit including a drilling template, but what good is that if the screws are not strong enough to hold the camera up in drywall? I wound up buying anchors and better screws from the hardware store. After my failed attempt to mount the camera the first time, I patched and placed the camera on the wall, above our crib (baby crying and all). This system is designed to give you a "birds-eye" view of your baby sleeping; this is the only way to use the system, and it's functions (such as the sleep analysis functions). Keep in mind that, you cannot rotate the orientation of the camera. The camera is essentially positioned one way after you installed it (more of a 90-degree angle above the crib).  Smart Features: First, you will need to sign up for an account and install the Nanit App. Nanit offers a 30-day trial period, which includes sleep monitoring (heat signatures to tell you the temperature of the room, and baby), as well as information such as "how long your baby slept today" etc. Also, there is two-way communication between you and your baby. So now you can hear the baby snore slightly and talk sweet nothings to it. Also, the sound and picture quality is great (especially at night with the night vision on). One function I appreciated was the "nature sounds" playlist when my baby was fussy. Simply open up the app on your phone and select the "sound" you want the baby to fall asleep to. More so, the app tracks the number of times you visited your baby during the night too.  Additionally, the sleep movement technology learned my baby's sleep habits and let me know if anything unusual was happening. The technology is exceptional since there were obvious times the baby could not sleep and I attended to his needs. However, there were times that I did not know our baby woke up, even for a few minutes, because they were uncomfortable. This happened during a couple of nights that our baby was not fussy; the baby woke up and eventually fell back asleep. I later looked at the history in the app, watched the video that was recorded, and determined that the baby was uncomfortable sleeping, due to the outfit he was wearing. Again, on those nights that I did not know he woke up, I watched the history and figured it out on my own.  After each night, the app displays your child's sleep statistics (a scoring system that lets you know how long they slept, and how "inefficiently" they slept). Also, in the App, you can add your partners so that they can log in and view activity, too. Once our trial runs out, I plan on picking up their insights subscription. Again, if you are concerned about your baby's sleep analysis, expert tips, and time-lapse playback (like most smart home cameras). , this is something you should consider.  Overall, the Nanit Plus baby monitor is a smart choice, and one of the better baby monitors out there. Be mindful of the hardware installation, as well as the lack of stand (if you want this version, you will have to purchase it; Nanit does not offer a floor stand separately).

I was slightly intimidated by a monitor I had to mount on the wall however this has been a fantastic monitor. The instructions were easy to follow and everything you need is included. The app walks through camera setup and took no time at all to connect to my home network and start viewing the crib. The alerts for movement and sound are instant and being able to use the app on both parents phones has been a huge plus. The sleep insights will be great for baby #2 however I don't need as much info for my toddler at the moment. I do love being able to review the night before and see short clips of the movement that alerted during the night especially with an active sleeper in the crib. The picture is so clear with this camera and the added nightlight feature makes life easier. Being able to talk through the app to my child is another great feature. If you aren't looking for a wall mounted camera I would recommend purchasing the stand that's available as this camera is a solid option no matter how you choose to mount it. I will be looking at a second one for when baby #2 arrives and will continue to subscribe for sleep advice with a newborn.

I have a 16 week old son and we have tried a few monitors and all seem to have niggles when it comes to picture quality, loss of quality in the dark, blurry picture etc etc. Well not this one! The picture quality on this monitor is quite simply the best you can get, no matter if it's day or night you see a high definition stream of your child. This in itself makes this a must buy. It's simple to use and easy to set up. Works great with both iOS and Android. You can leave your screen on throughout the night which is a nice feature but beware to people with OLED screens on the iPhone x, xs, Google pixel and Samsung phones as they may cause burn in much faster than on an LCD equipped device One large gripe I have is hiding features behind a $5 a month pay wall. At this price you would expect features to be out of the box. Subscription services usually make the actual cost of the main unit cheaper and that really doesn't seem so here. Overall the best monitor you can get with a sneaky sub service. I still highly recommend

great! - but with a few cons

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: Quality picture with zoom You can keep the sound going in the background while using your phone for other things Easy to install with great instruction videos online Safe (love the wire covers) & secure (enterprise level security) They have fast motion recap videos of events (putting to bed, going to sleep, waking up, visits, etc) which are great to look back at! Day reviews and sleep stats are great to review when you can't remember how long your baby took at all nap times - it will tell you total time for the day and night. Love the humidity reading The sound can go lower than any monitor I have used in the past, which I love I think the technology is more than you get with any other camera at this point, which is a HUGE plus, but they still have a long way to make it a great tech product and don't think the price should be $10 a month right now. I would absolutely recommend it for people who want to have more insight and reminders into when their baby is asleep, moving or waking up and time lapse recordings they can look back on. Cons: The day review and sleep stats are not always correct. They say that "Nanit learns how your baby moves, and tells you if they’re fussy, awake or sleeping like a dream.", but it's not actually learning, it just tells you when they are moving, awake or sleeping, which can be determined without being "smart" (and sometimes gets this wrong) There seems to be a lag in the information posted in the app. It takes a bit for it to process. There is also a 2-5 second lag in video/audio. Says it syncs with Alexa, but when I ask Alexa to tell me what the status is, it is never correct. (thinking may be bc of the lag mentioned above) The router is right outside my baby's room and it has lost connection once a week. (and as I write this they are doing a database upgrade and I can't access any insights or have remote access...) Camera does not move unless I move it, so I can't see using this camera when my kiddo has transitioned out of the crib. If you don't buy the subscription you can only have 3 people who can log in and use it which limits nanny/babysitter use (so I need to keep the old monitor in the room). Someone mentioned bypassing this by having the app on a tablet, but I have not tried that yet. Drains phone battery like crazy, but I don't know if this is the same with other wifi monitors?
