Very beautiful as it rips your wall apart.

Purchased two sets, this is how they currently sit. Was awesome while it was up, the mounting system simply cannot support the weight of these things. I even resorted to adding 3M automotive tape, still to heavy. So if you like your decorative motif to be interactive with very expensive tiles jumping off the walls look no further! So far the tiles have survived falling from about 8’, but I haven’t tallied the damage from their latest cliff diving expedition.

Sorry to hear about your panels falling! There are a few things that could have caused this issue, from having dust or oil on the wall prior to mounting, humidity, to having uneven or textured walls, or wallpaper, all of which are not ideal for mounting our panels to unfortunately. If you think dust or oil may have been the issue and you wish to mount them again with the original type of adhesives, we can send you replacement tapes and you can make sure to clean the wall and allow it to fully dry before mounting. If you wish to go with this option, let me know and I'll get your information to ship you the extra mounting tapes.

This has been my worst purchase ever, SERIOUSLY. I am normally lazy about leaving reviews but this deserves attention. The app forces you to give full home access to everything you have. The adhesive is stronger than necessary for flimsy tiles. Look at my picture for how it removes sheetrock just to try minor adjustments! Speaking of adjustments, this setup requires you to know the final design before setup... try to add new lights in the future? Impossible as you need to preinstall connections. DO NOT TRUST PREVIOUS RATERS.

Hello Brett, we hope you are doing well. We are sorry for all the trouble. There have been firmware updates on iOS, so a few error messages might appear during or after the pairing process. But rest assured we have been in contact with Apple regarding this. There are some troubleshooting steps we can help you with that should resolve this. Is there any way we can reach you or have you also reached out to our Support Team regarding this issue? Looking forward to hearing from you so we can take care of this together!

Colors become pink due to software problems

Software has serious bugs, picking a color and placing it into a “scene” reveals a much pinker version of the color. I’ve spoken with Nanoleaf, and they refuse to fix it, but acknowledge all software is affected. In my photos, the color I picked is soft white, but it can’t be used as such. It’s pink when you turn it on after picking it.

I’ll be honest.. they were really hard to setup if you live in a two story home with the wifi router downstairs. They at first didn’t want to turn on but two hours later it just started to charge and another hour to connect to my phonbe and pc, It doesn’t sync very well to my games with razer. i barley use it now since it doesn’t function well… waited 30 mins to turn on ands change colors.

Possibly The Best, Most Fun & Exciting Tech Ever

These Nanoleaf light up shapes are so fun and exciting to use! I already want to buy more sets. It was a breeze to put together; everything you need to set it up for the first time is all included in the box: the seven light panels, mounting plates (which were already attached), mounting tape, linkers, the controller, and a power supply. I downloaded the associated app via the Apple App Store by simply scanning the included QR code with my iPhone. (There’s a QR code for Android/Google Play as well.). But you can also control it directly with the included physical controller that attaches to one of the leafs/shapes if you want. There’s a Quick Start Guide that visually and efficiently shows how to utilize everything. I set it up with Apple HomeKit because I have the Apple HomePod mini and we are all heavily in the Apple ecosystem, but it also works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT.
My kids loved synchronizing the lights with music using the Music Visualizer. I liked simply having the lights slowly light up different hues of the rainbow, then slowly fade away. You can control the brightness depending on the amount of light/absence of light in the room. The actual individual light panels are nice and big—about the size of a salad plate. I can spread out my hand on a panel and not be able to touch the edges of it. Speaking of touch, the panels actually even respond to touch, too! There are just endless combinations of patterns and displays to choose from. And not just the patterns and displays of the lights and colors—the actual individual panels can be physically arranged in infinite ways as well. We have a lot of tech in our house (both my husband and I and our three kids)—iPads, iPhones, laptops, game consoles, smart watches, VR, smart speakers, you name it. But this Nanoleaf set has excited us all about something tech in a way that we haven’t been for a long time.

Fun Nanoleaf Light Shapes!

This was my second set of Nanoleaf shapes light panels, and as before, they proved to be a cool piece of electronic technology which fueled my creative side and was just all-around fun to set up and play with.
First off, there is a Nanoleaf app, which you’re going to want to install on your smart phone or tablet. There should be an update to the software after downloading the app and pairing the Nanoleaf to your device, so do that too.
Pairing was relatively smooth using the QR Code on the card included with the simple Quick Start Guide, and was definitely an easy way to pair my new Nanoleaf hexagon shape panels to my smart phone via the app.
However, it would have been nice not to have had to go online to find out more about Product Setup from the Nanoleaf website. I’m very much a fan of having detailed information included with the device, for easier reference.
It is convenient being able to turn the Nanoleaf smart shapes on and off through Apple’s ‘HomeKit’ app. I’m also able to use Siri for voice control with them.
One of my favorite music artists is Lindsey Stirling, and her high-energy violin music is a perfect accompaniment to the rhythmic light show put on by these Nanoleaf panels.
There did appear to be a slight noticeable delay in the sync between the music and lights, which did somewhat diminish the enjoyment of this creative (and fun) piece of electronic tech, but there may be any number of factors that could be affecting this.
In comparing my previous set of Nanoleaf square panels, I did find there to be a definite improvement with the design of the connectors on these hexagon shapes. The adhesive tabs used to adhere them to the wall, also seemed to be better as well.
I really liked the shape I’d created to be placed on the wall of my main room, living room area, where all my entertainment devices are primarily located. It reminded me of the aliens from the old school ‘Space Invaders’ video game.
That said, I almost considered changing my mind and placing these Nanoleaf panels in my bedroom, creating a ‘makeshift’ headboard wall light sculpture, of sorts, inspired by what I’d seen others do with theirs. I can always try that out another time.
As before, I absolutely love my new Nanoleaf light shapes! I chose the hexagons to compliment the square ones I already have, because they weren’t one of the basic shapes. And they blend together well.
So, if you enjoy trying out electronic tech and customizing your entertainment spaces with fun, interactive devices, I can recommend Nanoleaf and their line of Shapes Smarter Kits. While the cost might seem a bit much, for what these are, it’s really not.

Good Hardware Let Down by Bad Software

These lights are bright and colorful. They’re easy to install, and the controller works flawlessly for detecting the overall shape and coordinating scenes. This earns the product two stars.
Unfortunately, I can’t give any more stars than that because the Nanoleaf app is abysmal. The UI is cluttered and unintuitive, settings are hard to find, and it frankly just doesn’t work. It’s very hard to get the lights to connect to the app, and when they finally do, they will constantly disconnect and reset themselves. The app is a waste of time, and since apps are the main draw of smart devices like this, I can’t rate it any higher than two stars.
Thankfully, the lights can be used without the app. This means no remote on/off features, and you will be limited to a handful of built-in color schemes. But the app is so terrible that I’m just glad I can use them at all, considering how expensive they are.
TL;DR- think long and hard before buying these expensive smart lights that don’t really work as smart lights.

These are my new favorite lights!
Long time user of Phillips Hue lights and I was in the market for some new accent lightings. I wanted to the Play bars, but didn't have desk space and didn't want to shell out the $250 for the sync box.
These were on sale so I gave them a shot and I have not been disappointed. These are extremely pricey but they have added a lot of character as well as quality light into my living room space.
The customizability and easy of mounting has made this the really great part of this product.
Looking forward to slowly adding more to my home.

Let's get this out right now, I am probably going to be owning a lot more of these. Right out of the box I separated everything and it was pretty easy to get going. I put a sticky on the back of the first one and connected the main controls and hung it up on the wall. The connecting electros hang there and then you put another one up right in its place with another sticky and away you go. Not difficult at all. Then there are three ways to sync the device to your phone for control. I use touch NFC sync. And the app has a bunch of cool preloaded scenes including but not limited to, PlayStation purple, Netflix and chill, sunrise and sunset. Syncing it to my Google home was easy as well. Once I set up the app on my phone, go to Google home and connect it with works with Google settings and it popped right up. Like I said I will definitely be owning more of these.

I purchased the starter nanoleaf hexagons, because i love ambient lighting for my downstairs. I have to say these have been the brightest RGB lights ive ever purchased, the colors and the different lighting effects are amazing. The shapes you can design with hexagons and the triangles are limitless. My only complaint is the how they are hung up on the wall the two sided tape they provide does a good job but does not come off the wall easy. Maybe have the 3m pull tab tape might be a better option. But other than that if you want something that will light up the room or rgb color effects for ambient lighting you cant go wrong with these

Setting them up and installing them to the wall is simple enough. They work great and can get VERY bright. Bright enough that I decided to name my set of Nanoleafs “Flashbang”. My only issue with them is that they worked great for several months until suddenly deciding they wanted to freeze and not respond to the app. After several failed attempts to factory reset them, I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement controller. Just today, I installed the new one and it seemed to work, then froze and didn’t reach the app, then suddenly refreshed itself or something and is working normally again. I’m hoping it continues to work because I really do love these light panels. Nanoleaf customer service gets a great score! They were very helpful

Super sensitive to sound, quick albeit permanent setup (so be confident in your design choice, especially if you plan on buying more), and a beautiful soft light that's easy on the eyes.
It's voice assistant compatible, but it also has a touch remote you can add to the design. The app has a plethora of color patterns and schemes to personalize your experience. The perfect addition to the game room, the kids love it!

Lighting is cool, works well, has some minor bugs in the software that can be somewhat tedious. It seems to be random, but occasionally the nanoleaf will automatically set itself to max brightness. Can be frustrating in the middle of a movie or if wakes you up. Also works really good as a soft light if you set it to white color and max the brightness.
Value for the price is terrible, it's gotta be one of the most expensive LED lights you can buy

These lights are an awesome addition to give any room character. I placed them in my office/studio and immediately they offered me a great way to customize my mood. The directions were pretty easy to follow for installation and set up only took downloading an app and a some quick pairing. The app offers a multitude of different settings for customization and an ability to create your own. It works with Amazon, Apple HomeKit, and google! I’ve added a few pics with captions as to the different styles. They also offer a touch function so that with a swipe of your hand you can change patterns or turn them on or off! I wanted to add video of how they worked but the upload limits wouldn’t allow it. But believe me it’s really kinda cool!
There were a few things that I was not pleased with however that were not dealbreakers, just kind of disappointing. One is the edges of the panels. One pic will show you the edges look like they are damaged. Like crinkled paper. In the same vein the panels themselves came out of the box scuffed a bit almost like they were previously used. Once they’re on however I’m hard pressed to notice these small things when faced with the larger aspect of them. However for the price I would have liked to see these things be a little more polished and look less damaged.
These things aside, I still don’t see any reason why one wouldn’t enjoy them to create a unique atmosphere wherever someone decided to put them.
