Maybe I’m just getting too old for this game but I have issues, sold it today; too frustrated. It’s the same game as last year with new rosters. Play Now mode online is the most authentic mode, but I get a little tired of using players that I think aren’t properly rated. More on that later. However play now mode is for the sim players the old school guys that appreciate authenticity. Now to the rest of it. Do you care about career mode? There’s a few versions of that honestly I don’t think anyone cares about this mode and 2K seems to put all their energy into this mode which I don’t get because all we do is burn thru the story to upgrade our player. I never even played on the park and I could have had big fun there be players already had 90 overall players on release day that’s rediculous. Why didn’t I try Park because I couldn’t find it I think you have to unlock it after prelude and prelude was punishment goingbthru like I said I don’t care to play the cpu just multiplayer. So I played a little single player challenged with my team that’s what I played for three weeks before I just sold it. Here why I did...I am good at the game but I’m facing guys that have stacked rosters cuz they bought the $100 LeBron edition. So eventhough I’m good at the game I’d get beat cuz I was facing monster teams. I was running with DMitchell, KD, Gobert, all 84/85 but they are only sapphires these guys already have Ruby’s and Amytyst and some have Diamonds. Cuz they bought them off VC or earned them thru single player, but I’m so stubborn I didn’t want to play cpu all day i want to crush souls online lol. So I mainly played triple Threat Online which is basically a really bad form of gauntlet; why not bring back Gainlett 2K this stinks. Anyway you play a game and unlock palinka balls to drop down for measly prizes you rarely get anything good. Honestly I must have paid 200 games of Triple Threat and the best rewards I ever got were 2 diamond shoes, 1 unlimited contract and I unlocked a bunch of badges that’s it you have to get all 5 balls to get the better stuff never got there cuz the opponent was too stacked. So you guys are thinking Ibstink right i promise I don’t here’s the problem I’m a great defender, but all they do is pass when i lock up, and besides the horrible fouling in this game where only 10% fouls get called they have automatic D on AI this year so crappy defensive players like Steph & Harden that can’t guard a chair will lock you up as will every player in the game it’s so hard to score now because the cpu locks you up it’s really unplayable. Plus you can steal better than ever whenever transitioning, it’s silly. You also go out of bounds when you get next to the sideline or baseline my guess is there they don’t want you to cheese baseline so if you drive 25% chance your going out of bounds if someone is guarding you. So again it’s veey hard to score even if you have good players. LeBron is one of the few that can still force it baseline and make it but it’s a pain. This is more about setting picks and passing Ciz it’s juat that hard to get open it’s not much fun honestly. And I get mad too because the ratings are so poor and they been poured for a while they need to revamp the entire ratings for everybody in my opinion could you get players that aren’t three point shooters there knocked out sugars in the game because the rains are so goofy like rip it rip Hamilton for example is a 90 shooter from three he didn’t even shoot threes and a player like Baron and I get mad too because the ratings are so poor and they been poured for a while they need to revamp the entire ratings for everybody in my opinion could you get players that aren’t three point shooters there knock down sugars in the game because the rains are so goofy like rip it rip Hamilton for example is a 90 shooter from three he didn’t even shoot threes. Eddie Jones is 90 plus from three rarely misses he’s like a 95 overall KD why? Michael Finley card is 94 with a defensive stopper? He couldn’t play defense and why is he better than Michael Jordan? 94 is silly. They got Finley from going 12-0 in My Team but the only reason they did that is because they bought there success it’s about opening packs once again I’m tired of paying for players guys. I just remembered I paid $20 additionally for vc and my team still stunk. So if you like throwing down a bunch of cash for vc for your park player and my team go for it the new cpu AI will still drive you crazy but if you are tired of this same stuff and this new cpu AI lock up defense wait another year although I know it’s hard to pass but wish I would have on hindsight

-This game is pure and simply a cash grab - Everything has a price and an absurd one at that, with you not making much per game. You're telling me that if I was in the NBA I would struggle to buy a shirt or scooter for my player? -I feel as if playing online is very clunky and that the game doesn't have a natural flow when playing in the park or in the rec center. -The story in Mycareer starts off strong and is quite fun but by the end of the All Star game it all but dies.... -They do a good job of having weekly Park modes but that is lost on me as the gameplay is clunky. -The new neighborhood is nice and I like the way it is set up with all the shops surrounding the courts. It seems to have a nice feel to it and i do enjoy spinning the big wheel. In conclusion I would say that this game has a below average Mycareer, and they have to work on the gameplay as well as the Micro Transactions online. If you were looking to get this for the MyGM mode then you will definitely want to pick this up! If I picked this up only looking to play that this would be an easy 5 stars! There is so much depth in the MyGm Mode, where you really feel like you are running the team and building a dynasty with every move. I would have scored this game a 2 or 1 if it wasn't for the MyGM mode, which I found myself playing much more then the more popular MyCareer mode. It all depends on what you are looking to do when you get this game. MyCareer - 2 Stars MyGM - 5 Stars

Unlike everyone reviewing this game based on MyPlayer, I'll speak on the things that actually matter in a sports game. The game plays better this year than previous years. Just by making the ball harder to drive and the opponents ankles harder to break, the game has taken a step forward. On offense, though I'm only a few games in, I cannot seem to spam the pick & roll like previous years. I feel like the computer defense tries to adjust to stop your offensive schemes. Also, I personally like the timed layups because it adds a level of I-cannot-drive-in-and-chuck-up-some-garbage-and-make-it-every-time. Now, the game has things it needs to improve: presentation, overall realism/look, and some gameplay flukes. I cannot stand when someone like Marvin Williams has the best game of his career against me...every time we play. Frank Kaminsky shouldn't be taking more shots than Kemba Walker. And that has been a huge complaint of mine for years now. They're too focused on the MyPlayer stuff to work on any actual gameplay. I'd still give the game a solid 8 so far. I'm excited to see how the game adjusts with different teams (will the Warriors play like the Warriors, will the Celtics play like the Celtics, etc...). If you're not in to the MyPlayer aspect, the game takes enough steps forward to warrant picking it up this year. If you're just looking to create a player a cheese-fest, apparently the game isn't for you.

I miss the older games, I remember NBA2K since its beginning being a fun to play 5 star game, nowdays that fun gameplay it's gone, if you haven't play the old school 2K you have no idea what you are missing. The game is graphically ok, I think MLB the show and fifa soccer looks better, NBA2K used to be the best sport looking game, now it's more like a free to play quality game, I could digest more of its flaws, but why my screen is shaking when I have a free shot? that's annoying. I like NBA and having the all star team players by each team is cool, but why when I take the Bulls Michael Jordan team to play a match it's switched on the fly to other players ? if I want to play a match with Michael Jordan and unless I make the changes myself why the game itself is switching my players, it doesn't happen with other players compound, so I wan't to finish the match with Michael Jordan then I can't because the game arbitrary take MJ and his teammates back on middle of the match, come on. So that stuff really took me off, I can't recommend play the game with those flaws that doesn't let you enjoy in the way that you want, for those who have enjoy the recent version of this game may have no complains, but if you remember the old school version you probably will dislike this one. I haven't dig in the online modes, that's where this game suppose to shine, but since the gameplay isn't fun to me, I won't bother in compete against people, it may be nice to play with someone at home and check on the roster. NBA 2K19 as a sport video game is not that bad but it's not that great, I would consider look around.

The game itself is magnificent. The NBA 2k series has long been the best basketball game for anyone looking for simulation type of play. Everything seems to be perfected with each version and 2k19 is no different: extensive, detailed, perfected. As with previous versions, though, there is still one thing I am experiencing, which was happening at least since 2k16, which was my return to the series after a few years of not having time to play games: connectivity issues. Almost every day I have the same problem with connecting to 2k servers (which are online according to their website), which doesn't allow me to fully leverage the great gameplay this product has to offer. I've no idea why is it like that. I had the same thing in Europe, I have the same thing here in the US. It's getting tiring. But otherwise than that - this is the best basketball game on the market. If you want a basketball game, there's nowhere else to go. NBA Live doesn't even scratch the surface compared to this one.

A masterful work of graphics, game play & buckets! NBA2K19 is such a great game for basket ball and video games lovers alike. The attention to detail and the incredible 4K HDR rendering makes you feel like you're actually playing in the stadium. This game is enhanced for Xbox One X and has incredibly smooth game play. The animations are excellent and they even have a bunch of things going on during timeouts, to give you the entire holistic experience. The MyTeam and the MyCareer modes are excellent and let you create your own MyPlayer card, which let's you ball with players like LeBron and Kobe. The Neighborhood is amazing as well; you get to start your journey and play some street ball. Overall, this is definitely a big step up from NBA2K18. A lot of people ponder over weather they need to get the newer version; I would strongly suggest not missing out on this one. Getting buckets with Curry never got more realistic. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

So I really like the 2k basketball series, it plays well, has an excellent online community and offers a variety of game play. Have a couple of complaints with the game, playing your my career if you refuse to spend extra money and buy VC is a real grind. This is compounded by the lack of quickly jumping into games but the overdone cut-scenes, interviews and non-sense that have nothing to do with your character. Second, there is the VC (Virtual Currency) as a whole. 2k has gone with the model of needing VC to do everything, and to earn it through game-play takes time, a tremendous amount of it, to earn minimal rewards. Believe my while your getting your butt kicked while your character is rated a 61 the temptation is there is to get the credit card out and buy VC to get past the grind. Then once you spend it on one character it starts all over for a second one. Be sure you know what character position you want to create when you start. Overall plays well but there is some gripes with it.

I have played both of this year's major basketball games (this and NBA Live 19) and I enjoy both of them. 2K19 is definitely more simulation-based compared to Live. 2K Sports seems to update their game quicker than EA Sports does theirs (Rosters, Shoes, etc.). 2K's gameplay is fun, yet frustrating and sometimes unrealistic (depending on the difficulty you play on). It's not thrilling to see the CPU makes a jump shot with someone who has no business making that shot (contested or uncontested). Missing open layups also isn't great (I know that happens in real basketball sometimes, but still...). I do play the game on the Hall of Fame difficulty, so that's probably why. I can't talk about online because I play offline pretty much 100% of the time. I do recommend 2K if you need a video game b-ball fix.

For the 5th try with this franchise I've tried to give this game an opportunity to bring something exciting. But, it's the same old boring, unresponsive, and exploitative game it has always presented. Last year, the cover said "Ultra Responsive", yet, it was highly delayed. And it's the same all over again. Create a player can't even be added to a roster until you start a season and then you must negotiate salary; hopefully, you didn't create a super human because you can't afford it. Defies that whole purpose. I'm not going to explain everything, it just isn't worth the ink the title is printed from. I'll never understand how this is such a popular franchise. If NBA Live hadn't tanked years ago I'd still be playing that, but now we're all stuck with this poor creation. Stay away forever.

This is one of the best on court basketball video games made by 2K. It runs very smooth with contact mechanics that makes the game more enjoyable. However, There are animations -players passing or doing lay-ups with he left hand- that should be out of the game by now. Too many years with the same problem. Also, the biggest problem of all is how long will take you to improve your player to a point that is enjoyable to use it. Maybe 40-50 games. I am not talking about when your player will be good, that should take a long time, but makes it at least enjoyable during that time. Graphics are starting to see the age, specially the lighting. Some arenas don't look like the real ones. The amount of content is insane. you won't be bored with this game, There is something for everyone.

The things that stand out to me most about this game are the great announcing and small details that enhance the experience. The announcers give interesting stats and tidbits about individual players. They sound smooth and polished, not at all robotic . In my opinion the graphics are great and the sounds of the game are solid. I like the music as well as the in game sound effects. I have only been playing this for a little while but am impressed so far. If you can snag it at the $20 price Best Buy has now go for it - it is well worth it!

Honestly, this feels like a total reboot of NBA 2K18, but it's still a deeply fun & addicting game. The new MyCareer mode is a little dorky, but the basketball aspects of it are still fun. For the casual gamer, this meets all the requirements you need if you're a sports, or basketball fan. For the diehard basketball fan, the presentation is probably the best a sports game has to offer -- my only complaint, again, is that it is basically a rehash of last year's game, gameplay wise. Other than that, this game is still 4 out of 5 stars worthy.

As for NBA 2K19’s presentation, it is flashy and continues to sport some of the best sports commentary in a video game. 2K have nailed down that aspect of the NBA series for a long time now, but at the same time there’s not a major evolution compared to last year or even the year before. In fact at times the atmosphere in games feels a bit muted. Crowds don’t seem as lively and this may be down to the more defensive focused action on the court, which can lead to lower scoring games.

I jumped back into this series after not playing it for 3 years. The gameplay is good with great visuals. The defense in this game is very inconsistent. When you tap the button it's either a foul or a steal. No in between. The progression in this game is atrocious. I have played half a season and my overall is a 67 with a Max of 99. The progression is very slow unless you buy their in game currency. It's an ugly feature in an otherwise good game.

Ok, this being somewhat the *Only* Good Bball sim out (*NBA Live* is....ok?) currently & not having any competition, its surprising that 2k studios are still attempting to the improve the game every year even when its already pretty darn good. Graphics have always been Great & the gameplay does slightly change year to year by adding something new But overall its still the same game...But in this case, thats Not a Bad thing. Enjoy!

I feel this game is changing and heading south. As far as game play its very hard to move the ball around. There are a lot of drives that you feel should be an easy dunk or layup and they miss it or pull up and take a jump shot instead. Graphics while on the court are good but the characters during their interviews and coverage are terrible and look and move horribly. They need to do much better next year

I personally prefer to play NBA Live over 2K, but my son absolutely loves this game. I really love the addition of old school vs. current NBA players from there time as rookies, superstars, Allstars, and hall of famers. The great thing about this game is the interest it sparked for my son who’s growing to love basketball. He knows NBA stats that I didn’t even know about. Overall, I give this game 5 stars and definitely recommending it to others.

As an avid player of the NBA 2k franchise, I can sincerely say this game was great for me. The mechanics of dribbling are refined and more realistic than last year, but still have a smooth flow. Defense is now existant, but that doesn't mean there is no way to score. The skill gap in this game is also incredible and, when playing with me friends, this is one of the most enjoyable games ever put out there from 2k.
