pre-ordered 3-4 months in advance without knowing if i was going to be able to get the ps5 at launch. but it worked out and i had to get the mamba edition case. RIP Kobe

The case was nice and sturdy and is a great keeper. Especially with Kobe on the front of it.

I finally got my hands on these steelbooks. A steelbook is a steelbook. It is a metal display case. The most important thing for all steelbooks is the shipping. Many have complained about damaged steelbooks through shipping. I ordered 2, and both were pristine with no visible denting or damage. That is a win for me. They did ship in a padded envelope type packaging.

If you are a collector of sports memorabilia or a fan of Kobe, this is a nice little item to have. It is basically just a steel replication of the plastic disc case that the actual game comes in. I believe you can use it to hold the game disc rather than using the plastic case. For the price, you should probably just leave it wrapped and save as a collectible.

When this came out the thought wasn’t a second thought of buying, what an extraordinary/caring person he was for the NBA sport and in the lives of trillions weather or not he knew them, but sport the players/fans knew him, he’s greatly missed, that’s why this game was purchased.

This is the second of 2 Mamba Forever editions. This Steelbook is designed to house the PS5 version. It represents Kobe Bryant's second half of his career and subsequent Farewell from the NBA. The design is much more somber with predominantly black design with purple elements. I believe both designs were created by the same painter commisioned by 2K but I prefer the beautifully colored PS4 Steelbook with Kobe in his dynamic pose from his younger days in the number 8 jersey. However, side by side, they are perfect companions and a very fitting tribute from 2K Sports.

The special edition of NBA2k21 in honor Kobe is a big step up in presentation from the regular edition. Gave it as a gift and the special edition case is well done- says “Mamba Forever” on the inside where the disc is stored. The recipient loved it! For Kobe fans it is money well spent to upgrade to this edition.

It gets hate which is understandable, however the game itself is an improvement. Throughout the past few years 2k has released horrible sports games but this is a good start on a comeback. The introduction of the city is great as MyCarrer players have been begging a new park for ages. The graphics improvement is stunning, 2k added an entire 2nd casting team and the defense is a lot more realistic including manual help defense

My son loves this game. He plays it every chance he gets...Which is often. I made an excellent choice in choosing which game to get him. He loves the clear graphics of the players. He’s glad that I chose this game over the other basketball game.

This tin case makes the Mamba Edition feel even more than just a collectors item but a real piece of history and celebration of the late Mamba. This version of the game will forever be one of the most important in the 2K lineup now and forever.
