NBA LIVE 18 might be one of the most underrated sports games I have ever played. It isn't perfect, but wow, it sure is fun! I have honestly not played NBA 2k18 at all, since I picked NBA Live 18 up. What keeps me coming back for more, is the unpredictability of each and every game. The outcomes of every game feel as if they could happen in real life. The physics engine in this game is a big reason why this game feels, in my opinion more realistic than NBA 2k ever has. The stars on every team play like stars and come up big in clutch situations. There is actually defense played in this game, unlike 2k. You cannot score at will nor should you be able to. Each possession feels as though there is strategy involved and not just crossovers and dunks. There is a sense of momentum that can go back and forth like a real NBA game can and even when I am on the losing end of it, it sure is fun to witness, because of how realistic it makes the game feel. There have been numerous instances during games where something happens, that I have never witnessed before in any NBA video game ever. These are totally realistic, physics based animations that at times have me picking my jaw off the floor in amazement. The cool thing is, when these moments occur in the game, the announcers acknowledge it, which make it even more convincing. These moments I have experienced have only happened once each and have not been duplicated in the dozens of games I have played during my franchise season. In most all sports video games, there are events/animations that occur, that feel pre-determined and not at all physics based or generated. This is not the case here. Again, I am not saying this game is perfection. But for the price you are paying for this game, it is a unbelievable bargain and makes me super pumped for what's next to come in this series' future. NBA 2K better take notice, NBA LIVE IS BACK!! Let the competition begin!!!

LIVE is really better than previous years, and while that's not saying much, it really is a fun game to play but for the more arcade focused players, simulation it's still not where nba 2K is at but it is making strides and at a lower price tag it's very appealing to maybe save some money and still get a playable game. A lot of the movements come at weird times and the point guards always do like some hop and a skip when begging their dribble up court but overall it is a solid game and should be looked into if you are tired of the 2K getting stale feel.

I bought this game when it was $23.99 (gamers club pricing) and for the price it is definitely well worth the money. I had already downloaded the trial thru EA Access and found the game fairly easy to pick up the controller and play. I have not played Nba2k18, but faces are not as detailed compared to nba2k17. But gameplay is fun and is fairly smooth. I find myself playing this game a lot because quite simply it is fun to play. Give the game a try! I did and it was a great decision!

For the price I paid with the GCU membership I can't imagine getting a better value. $25 for the latest NBA game that has controls that are a bit easier to use for my 7 yr old than the 2k equivalent. 2k is a bit more polished and more of a Sim than this game is but that isn't what we were looking for. EA NBA is challenging enough for me to enjoy and a boat load of fun for my son. 8/10 graphics, 7/10 presentation.

i am Huge sports gamer and when i say this year nba live have taken back its crown to fun and competitive sports gaming i mean it. not only have they listened to the fans but have officially gave 2k sports a run for there money with half the price if your looming for a game that will have you on edge this is the one for you

This game is great if you like an arcade feel in basketball. It is diffrent than NBA 2K because it presentation is more like an ESPN production. EA has finally done something a little diffrent than 2K

This is a great game! The controls are simple and the gameplay is fun. The announcers get a little annoying saying the same things over and over but it’s still fun.

I have both NBA2K18 and NBA Live and they are both good in their own ways. I have not played Live in a long time so it's taking me sometime to get used to playing it. Haven't played very long but so far so good.

I pre-ordered the game after I played the demo and haven't looked back. I also purchased NBA 2k18 for comparison purposes and to be honest I much prefer NBA Live 18. The presentation looks much more premium/professional than 2k18 which looks cartoonist by comparison also NBA Live 18's player models look amazing. If you played the demo you really won't need this review. If you are on the fence because of previous NBA Live titles don't be... buy with confidence!

Played the demo and knew this would be a day one purchase. Nothing against NBA 2K which is a great series I just wanted something that was different and more accessible. The graphics in NBA Live 18 are comparable to 2K, yes there are a few faces that need to be re-scanned but NBA 2K has the same issues. I'm loving The One mode any like the level up system. Overall I'm loving this game and bounce from Live Ultimate Team to The One story mode. Great job and solid foundation to grow on. Well done EA Sports!

This was a pleasant surprise. The game plays very well. Easier to pick up and just play in comparison to 2k18. Creating your own character and playing "The One" is rewarding and your character evolves much quicker than in 2k18 (unless you want to spend all your hard earned money on VC) Overall I prefer Live 18 this year. I can tell EA has been listening to their customers and trying to deliver. I can only see the NBA Live series getting better, therefore I choose to support them.

I've been a fan of the NBA 2K and Live franchises for years. 2K has owning for the last decade if you want pure honesty. I've longed for Live to make a solid comeback and this is the year. The gameplay is solid, though gamers who want super simulation will stick to 2K. Live is pick up and play and plays at a pace that is so much fun. And that is what I'm looking for...FUN!! The inclusion of WNBA players is awesome! This game is so addictive. If you bought 2K17, you really won't need 2K18. Give Live 18 a whirl if you want a slightly less simulation. I highly recommend this game!

I would recommend it was a cool game to play easy to learn the setup

It's been a long time since I've purchased an NBA game, but I read great reviews regarding this release of NBA Live. I love the aspect that it ties in pick up ball around the country to build up your skills outside the NBA landscape. The reviews have proven to be right as I'm absolutely loving going back and forth between playing the different modes. Highly recommend for anybody looking to get back into an NBA game.

Would love to give this 5 stars but they need to improve a few items to make it a perfect game. Very enjoyable to just pickup and play though. If you love Live 06 it's pretty similar game play just way better graphics. Much better than some of the later games where the game play might as well have been NBA Street minus the fun.

I traditionally buy the 2K offerings but decided to try live after playing the demo! The gameplay coupled with the pre-order $20 off was a no brainer. It might not be quite on the same footing with 2K this year but I see good things for this franchise after some setbacks!

Great Game compared to 2k18. And WAY cheaper!!!!!!

I bought both 2k18 and live 18 and in my opinion Live is better. They changed the entire dynamic of 2k. For example in order to play my career mode you have to have internet which isn’t a problem for me but still. The graphic almost are better than 2k also.

The gameplay, graphics and addition/ease of use of the NBA Live companion app to scan your face to make a created player make this game outstanding in my opinion. I know their are a lot of 2k fans out here (I use to be one) but this game is fun.

NBA live is here and doing a good job at giving 2k a run for its money. I purchased this and 2k18 and enjoy both. Would buy again in future.
