Mechanically the neat scanner is a 5 star, no issues there. Software could us a little work. I am still trying to figure out how to save the scans to a specific location on my hard drive. As well as the neat cloud, I would like to see when a file was last opened from any folder rather then just the folder called recent. I have only used it for about 2 or 3 hours.

I was hoping for an easy set up not so much. I do like the size and the fact you can scan more then one piece of paper at a time. Depending on what you scan it can be really good. School papers scan great however if you want to keep track of your receipts they just turn out to light. Over it's not to bad.

The scanner itself is great, very fast and accurate most of the time when it pulls prices off receipts or other information from the scanned documents. The software is pretty simple, I know there is more functionality that I am not using yet, but will learn it more over time. My biggest critique is the way it leaves you in a destination folder when you move something from the inbox folder. For example, I scan 10 receipts, select one from the inbox folder, click on the move icon and select the destination folder. Once I confirm the file transfer, I am left in the destination folder and have to click back to the inbox area, which is very cumbersome when you have to do it over and over. I can live with it, and it is possible I am doing something wrong, but it is very annoying when you are moving a large number of files.

It was easy to setup an account but I was disappointed that the neat always has to be plugged into computer. I guess I should have read the description better. It's really fast at scanning and uploading the documents.

Great scans and fast. But sometimes the software won't recognize the scanner. That gets annoying. Also not interested in cloud feature. So I don't use that.

Bought this today, thinking that I could scan and organize documents to my computer. This device only works with a cloud service, which you will have to renew every year. I don not want my documents anywhere else but my own system and I sure don't want to have to pay someone else to store them and be hacked. I tried to call someone in there tech support, but they don't have anyone there to answer questions or help setup. I will be returning this in the morning, as soon as Best Buy opens. They should stop carrying this product.

Scanning is so much easy and I could scan and organize 100's of paper in very short time! I am very efficient and organized for this scanner!!

I bought this receipt scanner to eliminate the need to save printed receipts. It will only give one breakdown for the entire receipt such as meals, entertainment and such. If the receipt is is great condition and is a machine printed receipt it will recognize as such. Hand written receipts will be treated as documents. It does not always pick up the totals amount correctly. This scanner is best used on a daily basis for to enter a few receipts at a time. Once I caught up on my receipts it does not take long to scan, fix entries, and save to my computer. I only give it an average rating because my people would like to break down their receipts by more than one category without having to also use a spreadsheet. It is overpriced for what you get in my opinion.

I am happy that I purchased this product from Best Buy. The people there were very helpful, courteous and efficient. Love my neat scan!

Scans fast and keeps documents organized. Very good for document and business card scanning.

I was surprised at how fast this scanner can scan 2-sided docs. I will never go back to old HP printer/scanner/copier. The software is pretty well thought out and useful once you get it updates. My only complaint is scanning directly to my Mac doesn't work when initiated at the scanner. It works fine if initiated on Mac.

The fact that I'm able to scan receipts and automatically categorize them makes tax preparation so much easier. My CPA suggested this device and I'm so glad that I listened to him. This scanner is easy to use and possibly the best investment I've made lately.

I have been with Neat since NeatReceipts in 2009. Neat has had some struggles since then and at first I was not happy about this cloud thing, however so far so good. I have to say the Neat Top end scanner under Mac OS ElCaptain is a thing of beauty. I should probably give Neat a 5Star however I still don't get this cloud subscription thing. Neat owned the market in instant document scanning and I was happy to pay the premium price for the tight integration of the MacOS Neat Receipts app and the super fast document and receipt scanner. In 2011 Neat went in to the cloud thing and the mobile OS thing. You still need the originals, I don't use the Neat Cloud, however the New Neat scanner has turned out great. They are working on an update to the MacOS version however the reason I am Mac is my old stuff from 2009 still works.

This is the easiest way to get organized and reduce clutter.

I was sceptical about the need to buy a Cloud subscription from Neat. The device comes with a free years worth of service. After trying the Cloud storage service, the scanner, and experiencing a couple hundred items scanned I really am glad I purchased this device. It is so much faster and easier to scan household paperwork and receipts than the Epson scanner I had before this. It works exactly like advertised without any issues.

I am using the scanner to scan receipts and to organize them so it is easier when tax time rolls around. So far everything is working well. I do,wish it had an instruction manual.

This product at times fails to feed, fails to differentiate from a document to a receipt and you must pay a monthly fee to continue to use the product

I would ever tell anyone to buy it. I had issues with the new machine, I bought the bundle which comes with service I can't activate my service because you can't download their software right now! I tried several times of contacting the company and they keep giving me the automated system phone number and refused to give me the number of somebody I can talk to. The automated system won't let me past unless I have a subscription I have a subscription but I can't activate the one I paid for that came with the machine. And order for me to talk to them they want me to activate a Nother service plan which means they want me to pay for second one before they'll talk to me! Take the time to go to their Facebook fan page and read the comments that are being posted by hundreds of people about their bad service!

This is really a great product. Great for a small business to keep receipts organized and make you book keeping earlier. I actually bought it for my son to help with organization at school. He scans all paperwork and it files it easily for him so it's categorized so he can find it when he needs it
