I am very pleased with my Neato. It is such a great feature that I can set my Neato up to automatically turn on and completely sweepmy house. I also think it is cool that you have complete access via the app to turn it on, off and even view a map of where it swept. In summary - I love it!

Works like a dream. Cleans under beds, tables, etc. Works from phone or tablet app and sends message if caught up. Programs its own map of Floorplan. Battery lasts 1.5 hours and automatically returns, recharges and goes back to where it left off.

I bought this vacuum as a Christmas gift to myself and I'm highly surprised at how well it cleans and reaches those hard-to-hit corners! It's great for not only cleaning the house, but maintaining the cleanliness. Would definitely recommend to others. The price point is the only negative, but if you can catch it while it is on sale, it is a great buy! The app is fairly easy to use and it is also Alexa/Google compatible. Perfect for families with messy children and pets!

My 3rd Neato "robot vacuum" in 7 years. Will never be without one. This new D7 model with smart phone app communication is worth every cent! Love the option for Turbo super maximum pick up. I run my Neato daily and I faithfully empty the dirt bin, in appreciation of getting my floors vacuumed! : @@@@@@@

I've had the D7 for 4 months now and absolutely love it! It does a great job getting up dirt and hair from our pets on both hard wood and carpet. The ability to customize floor plans with "no-go lines" via the app is a great feature to keep the robot from going into areas that you'd rather it didn't. If you have a multi story House, I recommend purchasing an additional charging base. They're fairly inexpensive and will allow you to save custom floorplans for each story. Overall, great product that is easy to maintain and keep running in top shape!

Robot runs an average of over once a day, 365. He works by app or through google home, which is nice to use for pausing and resuming due to important phone calls or conversations if his work brings him in your vicinity at such times. His cleaning area is @2k square feet of house, each day, plus additional spot cleaning here and there. We have two indoor dogs and a cat, but you wouldn't know it if you did a white glove inspection of our floors - all thanks to our Neato Robot. Get the extended warranty if you will be using him as much as we do and Best Buy will 'no questions asked' swap him out at anytime if he gets sick. One last thing, you will need to adapt to his needs. He is prone to choking hazards such as stray socks and lose phone cords; and you may be able to provide subtle lifts to certain furniture to give him smoother access under couches and such. I suggest stacking a few of those felt pads under the legs of any furniture that might be a tight squeeze.

I am kicking myself for not buying a robot vacuum sooner. This unit does an excellent job of cleaning my 1,600 sqft home on all surfaces (carpet, area rugs, and hardwood floors). My only gripes are with the app you use to control the unit. There needs to be an easy way to do spot cleanings right from the app. Right now you need to pick up the unit and place it where you'd like it to do a spot cleaning. I'd love to just pull up the floor plan on the app and touch right where I need my D7 to do a touch up. Still, this thing does a wonderful job keeping my place tidy all week long.

It's great to hear how well your D7 Connected has fit into your home! With the most recent software update, you can now select certain zones for your robot to clean. This can be done via the FloorPlan section of your app. If you'd like assistance with this, please email rosie@neatorobotics.com and we'd be glad to assist you with this.

We've welcomed Auntie Pattie to the family....

This was our first foray into the world of robotic vacuums, and it has been a great experience so far. While we'ven't completely abandoned our first generation Dyson DC07, it is good to let that hand vac rest its old bones while the Botvac takes on more of the day-to-day chores. Out of the box, the Botvac was extremely easy to set up, and my wife took a special pleasure in naming her new ward Auntie Pattie when she downloaded and installed the app, which was equally simple and user friendly. From first appearances, I loved the 'D' shaped design, it stood out from the standard round build on competitor units, and that seems to give this unit an edge in being able to get tighter to baseboards and flat surfaces. This shape allows for a long rotating head up front similar to what you would find in a hand held vac, with a smaller round rotating brush that works to kick up anything stuck in the corners, which is a great design. Really like the brush metal plating on top, as well as the plastic bumper that allows it to gently figure out what it is navigating while not getting nicked up, or nicking any furniture up. The top plate comes right up to uncover the dustbin, which could definitely stand to be a bit bigger. LED indicators on top show cleaning mode, battery/power & WiFi connectivity, all good info to see, but the app is where this unit shines. After initially letting the unit charge overnight, we cut it loose to sort out the main level of our house, which is about 1000 s.f. Watching via the app how it 'learns' the house was pretty amazing, as it maps out its travels and you can instantly see where the 'voids' are in its cleaning path on a graphic representation of the floor plan it creates while cleaning. While the app allows us to create boundary lines (a great feature), it sensed our stairs to the lower level and didn't progress on a death plunge to the basement, it just went along to clean the rest of the upper level and ignored the drop. This unit can struggle a bit with chairs and cords, as all robotic vacs will, but it 'programmed' us to have better cord management, and to pull out chairs when we were leaving the house, a very small price to pay in time and effort which allowed for easy remote cleanings. It gets under furniture it can clear without pause, and we've yet to see it get really stuck. If you take the time to learn where it sees a challenge, you can make minor adjustments that will allow it to flourish. In Eco-mode for a daily clean, the Botvac works really well with crumbs and dirt, as well as dog hair (we've a long-haired beast that sheds a full version of itself every week) without struggle, and on a battery charge of roughly 1 hr 45 mins. It did ignore some larger scraps of paper, but on the whole it tackled an area with multiple floor materials (carpet, hardwoods, area rugs and tile in the bathroom) with gusto and with equally clean results. In turbo mode (great for spot cleaning for individual rooms/spaces before guests/mother-in-laws arrive) it churned out a great cleaning on about a 30 minute battery charge before needing to dock. The only challenge we've seen is that this unit can use a low-power internal alarm that forces it back to the base in time. Ours fought the good fight like a soldier, and died in the field twice without getting home. Seems like a simple routine that could be written into the code to allow it to get back to a charge and live to fight another day. As noise levels go, it is pleasantly low on Eco, and expectedly louder in Turbo, no great shakes either way to us as we expect some noise when cleaning. Maintenance is fairly simple with brushes that are easy to access and comb out, an easily accessed air filter and the aforementioned top-access dustbin. Simple, as life should be with a robotic maid. Many pros with this unit that we will be enjoying for the foreseeable future, vacuuming on the whole isn't something anyone really looks forward to, and Auntie Pattie delivers a deserved break from that action for me and my wife. The dustbin could be larger, but I suspect Neato knows that and provided that largest the unit could accommodate, not sure what sacrifice in design would need to be made to make it significantly bigger, but I suspect the product engineers do and made it as large as they could. I can't really ding them for that because, well, they made it so I'm not vacuuming anymore. The app control is next level stuff, being able to vacuum while at work with the touch of a button does actually make me smile, and the mapping and learning component is something you just aren't going to find in many other units. Last but not least, our dog has had a long standing adversarial nemesis in the hand-held vacuum, which he runs from as if the devil itself was in pursuit. The Botvac earned a few curious glances, but pup walks around it with ease, and most importantly, without fear. Two paws up.

I bought the Neato Botvac D7 on Feb 1st. I decided to try a brand other than Roomba. I got the vac home and loved it right away. It vacuumed up the dust and pet hair well and had a strong vacuum power. I set it up on a 3x a week schedule. The app worked ok but not great. Within 3 weeks it was docked on the charger but no longer charging. The entire unit was dead. Product returned!

This is one of the best purchases I made in 2018! I did tons of research on robotic vacuums and I actually bought a Samsung robotic at the end of 2017 and returned it. I was looking for a robot vacuum that had strong suction, cleaned in a uniform pattern and could had scheduled cleaning options. The Samsung was powerful but the edge cleaning feature would malfunction every cleaning cycle and NEVER completed a cycle. My faith in robot vacuums were temporarily dashed. Until I started researching the Neato, I was not going to try a robotic vacuum again. Finally I decided on this model of Neato because of the battery length (I.e. runtime per cycle), the scheduled cycles and great iOS app for the vacuum. It works great from hardwood to carpet and back. Highly recommend!

My Neato Botvac D7 arrived a little more than a week ago. This is the first robotic vacuum I've owed and wasn't sure about this type of product in general. I wasn't sure how it would stand up to my Dyson that I've owned for 5+ years. Overall, I'm loving this little machine! When the box arrived, I was surprised by the size of the box. I guess I expected it to be a little smaller and not as heavy, no big deal though. After unboxing this beauty and trying to find a good place for the charging dock, I had the robot getting ready for its first use. The set up was simple & quick. The steps included charging the vacuum up, downloading the Neato App, & connecting the robot to your WiFi network. The app gives good step by step instructions on how to establish the connection. All in all, the charging took a little bit of time but the rest of the set up took about 10 mins. Now that the robot was ready to go, all it takes it a press of a button on your smartphone and the vacuum does the rest. The first thing I noticed was how quiet the Botvac was compared to the much larger Dyson I've. My dog barely noticed that the vacuum was running, when usually she's nowhere to be found during vacuuming. The next thing I noticed was that the vacuum was running along the edges of any room that it went into. It was moving pretty slowly while doing this, mapping the room so that it knew where it could go and where it couldn't go. The Botvac easily transferred between carpeted rooms and rooms with harder floors (I've tile and wood in some rooms). Once the vacuum had the edges mapped, this thing zoomed back and forth, dodging all obstacles that it could get stuck on. It was quite amazing to watch the first time. After it cleans all the area's it thinks it can get to, it simply stops vacuuming and returns to it base to charge back up for the next time. The app lets you know that the vacuum made it to the charging base successfully and provides you with a map of the area cleaned. While I'ven't used the feature yet, once your living space has been mapped, the app does give you the ability to set up boundaries to prevent the robot from going into certain areas. In the week+ that I've been using the Botvac, it has got stuck once, which was much less than I expected. When the robot gets stuck, the app sends you an alert to tell you and shows you on the floor map where the vacuum is stuck. You simply go there and move the vacuum a little bit to clear the object blocking the path, press a button, and off it goes. The app also alerts you when the bin is full with dirt, dust, hair, & whatever else its cleaning up. Some things I noticed are important are that the placement of charging base & that the collection bin is likely smaller than any regular vacuum you are using. The charging base needs to be in a area that give the vacuum room to start its cleaning process, and also room to get back onto the base for charging. It also needs to be somewhere that gives a little resistance so that the robot doesn't knock it back when returning from a cleaning, otherwise you might not have a charged vacuum next time you go to clean. With the collection bin, the first time I ran the Botvac, it did fill up a couple times while cleaning. The app does send you an alert when this happens, but you do have to empty it before continuing. The last 5 days, the bin has not been filling up to the point that the robot had to stop operating since I've been vacuuming every day. My house is on the smaller side, so I'd imagine that a larger house might require emptying the bin more than I've. Overall this is a great little machine. I can come home and vacuum daily without scaring the animals, we all barely even notice that its running. It's nice having clean carpets and floors with little work everyday. Glad I got this little Botvac.

This is one of those things that I have looked forward to for my entire life. Sure, they told me that there would be jet packs, but something that vacuums the floor for me? Now that would be fantastic! Out of the box, it was super easy to set up and get it ready to go. Downloading the app, was equally simple. After letting it charge, we set it to clean, and away it went. Our house is small, but with some thick carpets and oddly shaped furniture. The Botvac started well enough in our relatively simple bedroom, but went in and out of the room sort of randomly, and cleaned mainly in patches. Some areas seemed to get cleaned 3 or 4 times, others, not at all. We figured that it was learning the layout and we hope that it will do better in the future, and it has, but it clearly still has a lot to learn. One big problem has been our irregular chairs. They have angular legs that fool the Botvac and it often gets stuck under the table. Our elevated shelving unit has also confused it, with it finding access under the shelves in areas where there isn't a carpet, but getting stuck where there is a carpet. Emptying the canister and changing the filter were both obvious and easy to do. Setting up the Do-Not-Go areas were harder (for me). By far, my favorite thing was using the Neato App to start it cleaning while I was at work, a few cities away. Knowing that the floors were getting cleaned while I was at work, made all of the frustration go away. Is this a 5 star item? Not for me. Is it super cool and I'm glad I got it? Oh yes. If you have a very simple house to navigate, I wouldn't hesitate to get one. If your house is more complicated, the problems will be more complicated, too, but if you enjoy hearing the sound of a vaccuum that you are not pushing, the Botvac sure will make your day. I would recommend this to a friend with the reservations noted above.

The Neato D7 is the flagship of bot-vacuums in my opinion. The setup was easy, having the features it has makes it a dream to own. It works great with Alexa or by the app itself, which also works with your smart watch (Apple or Android). The packaging was good and it came with 2 extra filters. The job it did cleaning was very good, I kept it on Eco mode vice Turbo and it did 75% of my downstairs on it's full charge, that's about 1100 SqFt. Mostly hardwood flooring with some area rugs and runners but it did a great job. With 3 dogs, 1 cat and mini pig the Neato picked up everything it came across. Emptying the bin is super easy and it lets you know when it's needed via the app. It did a great job learning its way around the house and avoiding obstacles as it ran its first cleanup. You definitely want to take a look at your set up in your house and try to make it as practical as possible for the little bot, but it's pretty smart regardless. I definitely recommend this product!

In late 2017 I had purchased the Deebot N79. Although the N79 does a good job, it was our first robot vacuum cleaner. I quickly learned that I wanted / needed some additional features (e.g. virtual mapping). I started researching again and found the Neato D7 Connected and made the purchase. It is a great unit! The app is very good and updated with new features fairly frequently. Definitely love the "no go" lines feature. In the near future they will enable an ability to create zones in the floor plan and scheduling of each. The only drawback I can see on some of these robot vacuums is the need to frequently empty the dirt bin. I should mention that our house has a mix of hardwood floors, short pile carpet, area rugs and tile. I positioned the base station under a media cabinet located in the master bedroom where it cannot be easily seen. Works great!

    First experience with a robovac...

This is my first experience with a robovac and didn't know what to really expect from it... I like the idea and concept but how will it execute versus my expectation... From my research... this is definitely a higher price point versus many other robovacs out there, maybe it's the app connected experience and controls? I do, however, like the ability to control it from the app. While setup is a breeze with the app, being able to see the results are very satisfying. I had the robovac run a few times to learn my house layout, while there were many times it got stuck on the standing fan, once it completed a house scan, I blocked the area where the fan is out and the is problem solved. I'm not sure how often cleaning is recommended, but I have a 2 times a week schedule and clean the brush, empty the canister out weekly. I'm impressed at how much it actually picks up. I don't know whether to be happy it picked up so much or disappointed that it did. LOL. Overall, I'm not sure if this is for the average joe looking for a robovac since the price point is pretty high compared to others, but I do like the ability to control more of the bot than just letting it do it's thang with no control. Maybe this is for you too. Maybe not. But I don't regret getting this. Thanks.

Never thought I needed or wanted a robot vacuum. But with a new baby and 2 kids, no time to clean the floors. At first, I tried to set up using my iPad. It did not work. I was getting frustrated and about to return it back to Best Buy. Then I tried using my Pixel phone to setup. It was fast and simple. Any troubles setting up WiFi, just try another device. My kids love it. Robot goes around and it hit every spot in the house. Mapping is straight forward. App is easy to use. I bring the robot upstairs and just push the start switch. Best thing and my main reason I bought D7 is 5 GHz WiFi.

The vacuum is a wonderful addition to our home and we are so happy to have it, bc if you have hardwood or laminate flooring then you know keeping it dust or dirt free is a serious chore, as you are able to see everything. The QUALITY is extremely sturdy and well built. It's very easy to unpack, get it on the docking station for initial setup and charge. Directions are straightforward but... We have had and still have ISSUES connecting to the app. It states that the bot is connected to the wifi but is unable to connect to the Internet. We tried for two days straight, and on three different devices that had different iOS systems running, before we decided to call support. Don't worry the bot can still run without the app. SUPPORT was very eager to help and the young fellow advised that this is a common issue that it has with some peoples Internet setup. However, he then explained that he was very new to the job and had to pull out his documentation to assist. At, this point we should have asked for someone with further experience, but we rolled with it to give him a chance. He needs the experience right?!? After, about 45 mins and us changing settings and our internet setup (so said "highest/fastest" fiber Internet that is capable of handling a load of connections), we still weren't able to connect the bot. I am going to call support again as it's now a full week without bot connectivity. Although, the app isn't necessary to use the machine, the app makes it possible to run the vacuum away from home, set schedules, have a visual map of your home, create invisible barriers, move the bot to where you want it and so much more. Without the app, I have to manually start the bot, which isn't a big deal. You only have to press one button and it's ready to go, but the point of having the "connected" model is for it to connect and use all of its features, right? On to PERFORMANCE. This little thing is mighty. It cleans so well, it's incredible. It maps the house with precision and we haven't had any issues with its performance. The large and high wheelbase makes it easy to go over any hurdles like the intersecting legs on our coffee table. It picks up sizeable pieces of dirt, food, and random pieces of whatever left behind by the kids. When it finishes mapping the room, it moves very quickly to cover the entire floor, and it hasn't missed anything on the floor. It grabs dirt in the corners very well because of its shape. We prefer this D shape over any rounded models. Also, we have it in an area where there are stairs and, boy oh boy, my heart ached when it got to that part bc I just knew it was going to tumble, crash and burn down those stairs. But it does as it states and has some type of avoidance technology built it. It's smart. It covers the edge of the stair but immediately stops at the edge. Besides the connection issue, we are happy with this vacuum because of its performance ability. If or when we are able to connect then I would be proud to give this 5 stars. If performance was lousy it would've definitely gotten less than 4 stars. Even though support wasn't able to help us as yet, they were very responsive and easy to get a hold of. No long continuous and ridiculous hold times and they are open pretty early for their time zone, so they were able to assist us East Coasters when everyone else would've been asleep.

I bought it because of the virtual no-go lines and the integration with Smarthings (Neato Connect V1.2.3 - Botvac Connected Series). I'm really impressed with its mapping and navigation capabilities and quality of vacuuming, but have three things I'd like to ask. 1) Is it in the works to be able to store two or more floor maps? In addition to the main floor map, I'd like to be able to bring it upstairs and have it clean that floor too, recognizing that floor and respecting a new set of no-go lines, and NOT erasing my existing main floor map. 2) If it has a map of my house and knows how to comprehend no-go lines, is it in the plans to be able to designate room labels on the map? With that, for example, I could say 'hey alexa, tell neato to clean the kitchen' and it knows where the kitchen is and cleans just that room and heads back to base. 3) Speaking of knowing where things are, it would also be extremely useful to be able to designate a spot to clean using the map in the app, and NOT having to pick up the vacuum and set it in a place for it to clean. If I have to go get the vacuum to clean a 7x7 area, I may as well get the manual vacuum and do it myself. It seems like it should be possible for the vacuum to know how to get to the area, clean it and then return to the base. Great product overall, but not quite 5 stars yet. If the above haven't been considered before, I'd ask if you submit it for feedback. The Smartthings integration is awesome, too. I set it up with a rule to clean the house every two days, but only when we're away, and not during vacation mode, and not at night. Slick!

I would recommend this to a friend
