    I am, honestly, amazed at how well this robot works. It is able to get itself out of tight spots. It does a very good job of cleaning on carpet, tile, and hardwood on 3 levels in our home. It cleans almost 1500 sq. ft. on our main level with no battery charge. It picks up a great deal of dirt. We will still need a small spot vacuum to clean tightly around the baseboards and stairs, but all in all it is a great addition to our home.

    Pros: It has good suction and travels around the house well, noise level is fair. Cons: Doesn't vac the house in the same pattern, forgets some rooms, gets lost, forgets where home base is located.

    Great vacuum for house with cats

    My husband came home with this and I thought he was crazy (we had had the original Roomba). He is a tech guy and had done a lot of research. We have 3 large long haired cats - with clumps of fur at times and litter that gets tracked around. Our house sparkles! It has never been this clean - I'm very impressed. We were on vacation and could set it to clean just the area where litter gets tracked the most, then before we got home could run the whole area. I love that it can be programmed to just do certain areas and that it can be controlled remotely. The only glitch we have found is that upon re-docking (yes, it goes back home by itself to recharge) it sometimes nudges the docking station out of position a little and after several times can't go home to recharge. We have a combination of floors: hardwood, carpet, and scatter rugs and it performs well on them all!

    Wife says "best gift ever"

    Not sure if I'm a mediocre gift-giver or what, but this appears to be one of the best gifts my wife has ever received. We have darker-colored hard wood floors throughout our downstairs that can show dirt easily and requires a lot of effort to keep clean...this Botvac eliminates the regular chore of sweeping/vacuuming the floors and does the job relatively quickly and with less noise than I was expecting. It also navigates the house and obstacles well. The only few complaints that come to mind are: a) it does have to return to the docking station to charge itself once before it fully finishes the job (better battery life would've been nice), b) the dirt bin could be bigger c) the first unit was defective, but the return process was painless and efficient...the replacement unit works fine thus far.

    I should have done it sooner. That said I had it a week and an update came out that has the maps and scheduler broken. It can and does still clean the house when I ask it too. It was easily a 5 star product until this update. Now its missing too many of the premium features for 5 stars, but is still doing a good job in manual mode.

    The overall function of the vacuum is great. Setup is not bad, however the "learning" or mapping process can be a little tedious. Learning what needs to be moved is a must. Make sure all small cords are out of the working path. I had to call tech support and received excellent information quickly. The robot has cut cleaning time significantly for our house.

    I bought this vacuum as a Christmas gift to myself and I'm highly surprised at how well it cleans and reaches those hard-to-hit corners! It's great for not only cleaning the house, but maintaining the cleanliness. Would definitely recommend to others. The price point is the only negative, but if you can catch it while it is on sale, it is a great buy! The app is fairly easy to use and it is also Alexa/Google compatible. Perfect for families with messy children and pets!

    I did months of research and ended up purchasing the Neato 7. The little machine does a great job on my house which is mostly carpet. I have two small children a German Shepherd and a cat. I love the GPS so it can map out where it has to go. It will return to base if it gets too full and send me a text message to let me know what I need to do so it can get going again. This vacuum has made my life easier, it's pricey but worth every cent!

    Fantastic Vacuum!

    Had a Samsung Cyclone and will miss the washable filter; however, this vacuum is so much better! They have improved Neato vacuums in the last 2 to 3 years; navigation is better and the filter is better as it is a deeper filter with a screen over the top of it. Run time is very good as it does over 1500 sq ft after redocking once to recharge but then goes back easily to finish the house (I just keep all the doors open so it can move from room to room). Navigation is excellent; doesn't ram into things; doesn't fall down the stairs. Finds the charging dock easily. @@@@@@@@ Only problem I've had was it doesn't do well with shoelaces :) ... so need to keep shoes with loose laces on a boot mat. @@@@@@@ Highly recommended!

    If you are wanting greatness, and don't want to work. Get this one. It's gonna help you out a lot, and will keep your house somewhat clean without issues. Only thing that is not so great, is the price. It's a little high. But this is the age of tech, and this is something that comes with it. A higher price tag at times.

    Robot runs an average of over once a day, 365. He works by app or through google home, which is nice to use for pausing and resuming due to important phone calls or conversations if his work brings him in your vicinity at such times. His cleaning area is @2k square feet of house, each day, plus additional spot cleaning here and there. We have two indoor dogs and a cat, but you wouldn't know it if you did a white glove inspection of our floors - all thanks to our Neato Robot. Get the extended warranty if you will be using him as much as we do and Best Buy will 'no questions asked' swap him out at anytime if he gets sick. One last thing, you will need to adapt to his needs. He is prone to choking hazards such as stray socks and lose phone cords; and you may be able to provide subtle lifts to certain furniture to give him smoother access under couches and such. I suggest stacking a few of those felt pads under the legs of any furniture that might be a tight squeeze.

    I am kicking myself for not buying a robot vacuum sooner. This unit does an excellent job of cleaning my 1,600 sqft home on all surfaces (carpet, area rugs, and hardwood floors). My only gripes are with the app you use to control the unit. There needs to be an easy way to do spot cleanings right from the app. Right now you need to pick up the unit and place it where you'd like it to do a spot cleaning. I'd love to just pull up the floor plan on the app and touch right where I need my D7 to do a touch up. Still, this thing does a wonderful job keeping my place tidy all week long.

    I bought the Neato Botvac D7 on Feb 1st. I decided to try a brand other than Roomba. I got the vac home and loved it right away. It vacuumed up the dust and pet hair well and had a strong vacuum power. I set it up on a 3x a week schedule. The app worked ok but not great. Within 3 weeks it was docked on the charger but no longer charging. The entire unit was dead. Product returned!

    I am on my second one in 2.5 months. first one work perfectly until it suddenly stopped connecting to the WIFI. customer service was a joke saying it could be my router, but everything else in my house was connected fine. Luckily, because of the holidays, Best Buy extended the return period and I returned it. I decided to give it a second try because it did clean well. Second one arrived today and right out of the box it would not stay connected to WIFI. My phones, laptop, Ring doorbell, IPAD, desktop, and irrigation controller are all connected without a problem, but the D7 loses connect within 5 minutes after connecting and will only connect if you delete the robot and add a new one. I expect a lot more for the price! This one is going back tomorrow and I will pocket the cash!

    Very impressed with the D7. Love the mapping technology and being able to see exactly where it cleaned and where it has not. Love that it goes back to the base and charges enough to go finish the job. The fact that you can now do multiple maps is great for different floors in the house. It is also great on carpet and dog/cat hair. I first bought another name brand vacuum. Tried it for a few days and was not impressed. It had a very random pattern and if I was not sitting there watching it I would have no way of knowing where it cleaned and where it still needed to clean. Also was not good on carpet. I returned that and bought the D7.

    "Neatest" and "Coolest"Appliance Ever

    Appropriately named, this is the "neatest" appliance I've ever owned. It keeps the floors clean with a deep clean or can be set on ECO for quieter, longer run periods. It is engineered to be much easier on the furnishings than any other robotic sweeper that I've ever witnessed. Not only does it deep clean the floors, it also takes care of small debris brought into the house with everyday traffic and two Westies. The Robotic Sweeper creates an outline of your floorplan, it can clean the whole area, spot clean or be remotely controlled with your mobile device. To maximize its capabilities, clear the entire floor area to be swept and remotely control the robot around the perimeter; then let Neato do it work by eventually finding and cleaning the entire floorplan. Once know, Neato can be controlled to start and stop via phone, Alexa Echo, etc.and it will remember the floor area and clean it! When and if it encounters a problem with rug fringe, etc. it will notify you on the app that its having an issue so that you can assist and then get back to work on something else. Start, stop, pause or remotely control the cleaning of your floor areas. I absolutely LOVE this sweeper!!!!

    The Neato D7 is the flagship of bot-vacuums in my opinion. The setup was easy, having the features it has makes it a dream to own. It works great with Alexa or by the app itself, which also works with your smart watch (Apple or Android). The packaging was good and it came with 2 extra filters. The job it did cleaning was very good, I kept it on Eco mode vice Turbo and it did 75% of my downstairs on it's full charge, that's about 1100 SqFt. Mostly hardwood flooring with some area rugs and runners but it did a great job. With 3 dogs, 1 cat and mini pig the Neato picked up everything it came across. Emptying the bin is super easy and it lets you know when it's needed via the app. It did a great job learning its way around the house and avoiding obstacles as it ran its first cleanup. You definitely want to take a look at your set up in your house and try to make it as practical as possible for the little bot, but it's pretty smart regardless. I definitely recommend this product!
